Sienna Miller in a Galvan gown in London: did she rediscover her style mojo?

…And just like that, I remembered how much I’ve missed seeing Sienna Miller on the red carpet. It’s not that she’s been absent from events for a while or anything, but she hasn’t had many fashion “moments” in the past, say, three or four years. Sienna used to be an It Girl, a Style Icon, one of the most-watched girls on any red carpet. She brought boho-chic and then she brought glam. And then her career faltered and her thing with Balthazar Getty didn’t go over too well. And Sienna lost her mojo. She took some time off, got together with Tom Sturridge, had a baby and slowly, she’s been finding her mojo again.

These are photos of Sienna on last night’s BFI London Film Festival carpet for Foxcatcher. Again, this film is going to be a major awards contender. And now I’m hopeful that Sienna will be doing even more red carpets to promote it because she dazzled last night. Her gown is Galvan Fall 2014. It feels like an ode to Sienna’s boho past, plus a dash of those slinky slip-dresses that were popular in the ‘90s, but with a modern flare. The stripes, the metallic, the hair, the barely “done” face… Sienna is back, ladies. Mojo retrieved!

Regarding her hair… remember those photos of her terrible bob a few months ago? It wasn’t a wig. Her hairstylist confirmed that Sienna actually got a terrible bob for a new movie. And now she’s growing it out. A lot of people thought her original big haircut – in 2005, when she played Edie Sedgwick – was the beginning of the end for her style mojo. Just FYI.

Sienna hasn’t been doing much press for Foxcatcher and American Sniper… yet. But she did talk to some outlets last night – go here to read some of her comments about work and her daughter.

    She does look good.

  2. Kitten says:

No. Still without the mojo unfortunately.

    • blue marie says:

Yeah, I agree. The dress seems to swallow her

      • mimi says:

I agree, I’m not feeling the dress either. I think it also makes her boobs look flat and saggy. She can do much better than this for the red carpet.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I like the back of the dress. Maybe she should walk in backwards?

      • FLORC says:

Yea. No mojo. I get the style and she wears the style well. I just don’t think that style is anything special.
And maybe that’s best. Somethings are better left in the past with a rose tinted memory of them.

I do love the hair, underdone face, and her body looks amazing. The slinky slip dress style was a trend that should not come back.

    • qwerty says:

Yep, if anything these pics show to me that she’s lost it completely.

      • DrM says:

I thought the hair made her face, with its very minimal makeup, look quite harsh. Great dress, but I don’t know why so many people are saying how fab this is as I really think she looks completely underwhelming.

    • cr says:

It’s alright from the waist down. From the chest area and up, including her hair, it’s not good.

    • Birdix says:

The Gettys suck the style out of people like they sucked the oil from the earth. I saw Billy Getty at a bagel shop last weekend– even my kid, who has very little interest in fashion, giggled at his tomato colored sweatpants and periwinkle puffy coat.

  3. Grant says:

Love the dress, hate the hair.

  4. BendyWindy says:

    I’m not feeling it.

  5. Anastasia Beaverhausen says:

Her face! What’s going on there? She looks…off

Pretty dress but don’t like the bust area.

  6. Luciana says:

Sienna was such a beautiful woman. Her “Alfie” days were her best. But lately there’s something off about her. She looks sad. I mean the dress and hair are on point but her eyes are sad.

  7. Jegede says:

Considering how much she’s ABSOLUTELY caned it over the years, her beauty still holds up )))

  8. Hazel says:

I don’t think she’s ever lost her style mojo.

  9. Talie says:

I’ve always maintained that she is an amazing actress… I hope she can rebuild her career. I mean, her performance in “Interview” was brilliant. She’s typically the best thing in even her worst films.

  10. QoFE says:

She looks like Chelsea Handler 😳😳

  11. iseepinkelefants says:

Meh I don’t like. Her shoulders look very manly, the hair isn’t helping (didn’t realize how much grey she has) and her makeup is not good. Sienna is beautiful. Always has been but she enve seemed like a nice person and I think that’s what killed her career (in addition to the home wrecking).

  12. GiGi says:

I love everything about this look – her styling is fresh, the dress is gorgeous and but still breezy – boho-chic. And I don’t even care for her, generally, but she looks great here!

  13. Rachel says:

Her comeback is so surprising. She’s got Foxcatcher and American Sniper this year and a bunch of other high profile films next year.

    • Div says:

Yeah, she definitely has several high profile projects…I wouldn’t be surprised if she got an awards nomination next year. This year I think there are just too many contenders and her parts aren’t big enough. She’s underrated as an actress, and it always pissed me off that her affair with Getty almost wrecked her career when wife beaters like Terrence Howard or men who have affairs (Jude or Russell Crow) basically get a pass

    • Jen says:

She’s in high profile movies, sure, but it’s not like her parts in them are super great.

  14. KinChicago says:

    Very pretty.

  15. WTF says:

To me it seems like a beautiful woman and a beautiful dress and beautiful hair, but they just don’t go together.
The dress doesn’t flatter her shape, color doesn’t flatter her tone
The hair is awesome, but it doesn’t go with the way her make up is done. She is too bronzy looking for that hair color and style.
I don’t care for her much as an actress but she is lovely to look at.

    • FLORC says:

You’re right. All nice looks that just don’t go together.
I only like her hair so much here because it’s how i’m wearing it lately. And i’m far from red carpets.
This thread seems to have taken a majority stance Sienna hasn’t found her lost mojo.
Maybe if she pulls out some better looks in the upcoming promotions we’ll all sing a different tune.

    • CuriousCole says:

My immediate thought was “I need to learn that braid!” But I don’t think it works well with the gown, and those earrings do nothing for me. Sienna is beautiful, but I don’t think she’s got her style back yet.

  16. maddelina says:

Not sure I like her hair otherwise she looks beautiful!

  17. Dara says:

With all the work she’s been lining up, I think we’ll be seeing a lot of her in the coming months so I really wish I could find it in my heart to not judge her for her past decisions – but I’m not there yet. There’s been lots of press about how she’s ‘matured’ and ‘mellowed’ and I don’t really believe it. I think deep down she’ll always be the chain-smoking, hard-drinking, free-spirit party girl with limited impulse control. I’m waiting on the inevitable implosion of her current relationship in a flurry of tabloid headlines. Sorry, I’m not a fan.

  18. koolkitty says:

    That dress is everything.

  19. tessy says:

I like her hair, sort of like the dress but I don’t like the way its too long and puddles around her feet. That style has overstayed its welcome. The straps could be shortened an inch or so then it wouldn’t look like its ready to fall off her… but maybe that’s what its meant to look like? I don’t mind the minimal makeup but I don’t like the shiny face.

  20. Gwen says:

She can look much better than here. She has no neck and it never looks good when you can see that. Hair and dress doesn’t go together for her.

  21. rlh says:

I never understood her as a style “icon.” She has never done anything for me in the least. This dress swallows her up, does not flatter any part of her body and her hair and make-up are atrocious. She is not a beauty, she is simply attractive and in front of flashing cameras and bright lights she needs better make-up. And, to be a bit snarky, she looks like a better looking young Camilla Parker to me. I don’t think she is aging well at all.
Editing to add the jewelry to the list of: Girl, No!

  22. joe spider says:

If you wear a cleavage revealing dress, it’s best to make sure you have one, sorry. Love the back.
