Teresa Giudice sentenced to serve her 15 months at the OITNB prison

Teresa and Joe Guidice plead guilty in Federal Court in NJ
I apologize that we haven’t been keeping up with the day-by-day developments in the Teresa Giudice case. I needed a break from her constant drama. (We have been linking stories about her in the featured links, they’re right above the comments, and in the afternoon links. You might want to check those out every day for stories we don’t cover.)

In the last few days, Teresa found a new lawyer to handle her case. She subsequently filed a request with the court to be housed in Danbury, Connecticut, at the same prison where OITNB is supposed to take place, where she would be closer to her family. She also requested to serve the majority of her 15 months sentence in a halfway house, which would allow her to “work” and to visit home on the weekend.

Teresa made this request without informing her longterm legal crisis manager, Wendy Feldman. Feldman subsequently quit, and issued a scathing statement that Teresa had never consulted her about the prison request and had in fact gone around the work she had done on Teresa’s behalf. “Teresa’s Bureau of Prisons designation request was not done with my knowledge or input… A designation to a camp is a gift, not a requirement from the BOP and the judge. By making this request, Teresa has jeopardized months of work, months of preparation and in fact may jeopardize where she is ultimately designated or sent to.” Damn.

The judge has denied Teresa’s petition to spend most of her time in a halfway house. Judge Salas specifically said that Teresa needed to make this request during her sentencing hearing. It’s unlikely she would have granted it regardless. The prosecutor responded that it was ridiculous for Teresa to be sent to a halfway house, basically, and recommended that Teresa serve hard time.

Teresa was assigned to serve her 15 months at the same Danbury, Connecticut federal prison camp which inspired the Orange Is The New Black Netflix series. (OITNB author Piper Kerman was housed there for a year.) She is somewhat lucky to receive this placement because that prison camp, FCI Danbury, is transitioning to a mens-only facility.

There are so many other stories about Teresa. She’s apparently being paid a quarter of a million dollars to do a Christmas “before I get sent to the pokey” special on Bravo. Of course she is. So, despite the fact that she’s still on the hook for the $13 million that she and her husband defrauded from creditors, she reportedly wants to have a lavish Christmas for her four daughters. Remember, this is how she got in this mess in the first place. She spent other people’s money in order to get famous, and now she’s going to have a blowout Christmas to make for more compelling television. According to Radar Online, Joe is the voice of reason and is begging Teresa not to spend too much on gifts. I don’t understand how someone can be so deep in denial. I really hope that her wages are being garnished to the point where she can’t continue to spend like this. While I do feel sorry for her girls, they’re not going to suffer if they get smaller gifts.

This is going to sound mean, but I’m somewhat bummed that we don’t have a mugshot of Teresa to use with these stories. This really needs a mugshot. Maybe someone will get a photo of her in an orange jumper. Paparazzi, get on that.

Lol, she knows Piper and Tastee aren’t really there right?

    • the.princess.leia says:

I saw a comment on another site that said she does know they don’t film OITNB there, right? LOL Tre can’t be away from the cameras!

  2. pnichols says:

I think that saying she is in “deep denial” is being kind. Basically she hasn’t learned one thing and is only upset because she got bagged. If she didn’t, she’d be doing exactly the same thing with zero remorse for hurting others.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

      Yep.

    • Belle Epoch says:

Exactly. Did not learn a thing, is not remorseful about her actions, could not care less about all the people she screwed, is behaving exactly the same way. I wonder if prison will make any difference?

Joe “whatever” is just human scum in every way. There are some interesting comments are around about how this couple must have ratted out other people in order to get the sentences they did.

“I don’t understand how someone can be so deep in denial.”

I don’t understand why she isn’t as remorseful either. She won’t see her children for over a year but you wouldn’t be able to tell that from the way she’s acting

    • Bridget says:

I think she thinks she’s going to be able to get out of going to prison.

    • Janie says:

She honestly believes some divine intervention will happen and she won’t have to serve any time at all. I don’t think for one minute she has given up trying to get out of this sentence. What a piece of work!

      • holly hobby says:

Nope the Feds always send people to the pokey over bankruptcy fraud and tax evasion! Ask Wesley Snipes (tax evasion).

  4. Bridget says:

$13 million in debt, court fines to continue to pay, and what must be some astronomical lawyer bills – we’re going to be seeing a lot of this woman.

    • lucy2 says:

I don’t watch any of those Bravo shows, so if they want to keep putting her on there and people want to watch, fine – so long as EVERY CENT she earns from it goes to paying down their debts and fines.

  5. Clever hand says:

I’m sorry to be mean y’all but she just looks beastly in the bottom photo in the black dress. And she probably spent so much on hair, fake tan, and everything else to make herself look even worse.

  6. Leftovers says:

That photo in the dress… there just isn’t enough steel wool.

  7. BW says:

    RE: The minidress photo.

I was going to make an orange is the new black joke, but it’s more of a burnt to a crisp is the new little black dress joke.

  8. Talie says:

Sometimes they do reality shows in minimum security prisons like this (usually on the History channel) — so I wouldn’t doubt that we see her pop up on camera in the next year again.

  9. Loopy says:

I’m surprised how other mugshot don’t get released,we have never seen a Chris Brown mugshot.

  10. Virgilia Coriolanus says:

TMZ needs to get on that.

  11. MAC says:

“I don’t understand how someone can be so deep in denial.”

I do its called not having a conscience.

Who is going to end up paying for her 13 mil?

I feel ill when I read these stories its my own fault for clicking on them. I come to the sight to usually see the women’s clothing.

    • Triple Cardinal says:

Agreed, MAC, it’s not denial. It’s contempt and it’s arrogance and it’s a grossly inflated sense of entitlement.

And, dollars to doughnuts, when this is all finished–prison term served, fines paid–she’ll have learned *nothing.*

  12. NeNe says:

I hope she gets exactly what she deserves. What I don’t understand is why it seems Andy Cohen is bending backwards to help her out. WTF is wrong with him. She’s guilty as sin, and yet he keeps helping her out. What’s wrong with this picture?

    • Tifygodess24 says:

It’s not that Andy cares about her, actually it’s been rumored for a long time he hates her and “juicy joe”, is it that Andy loves ratings and drama and he knows people will tune in to see the train wreck. It comes down to money and that is all.

    • lucy2 says:

      $$$$.

  13. Neelyo says:

They should have thrown the book at her. Perhaps then she could have learned how to read.

  14. Lindy79 says:

Imagine what she’s going to look like after 15 months in jail… please let there be cameras snuck in there

  15. Vampi says:

This makes me sick as I struggle on a 15,000 a YEAR salary. Yeah Lady…I feel SO sorry for you. NOT!!! (sorry…feeling….CeleBITCHY!)

  16. Lady D says:

They owe $13 million between them. There are rumours that Joe is going to be deported after prison. Can the people he owes all this money to, go to court and force him to stay in the country until his debt is paid? Or do the people who were ripped off just kiss their money good bye?

  17. anne_000 says:

Teresa is going to be a busy gadfly in the ears of the BOP & the judge for the next two months. She’s not going down easily. She said in her WWHL interview that she believes her actions didn’t warrant prison time but at most house arrest if any punishment at all. She made it sound like it was all just some huge misunderstanding on the part of herself and the justice system.

The judge is going to wish that she had put Teresa in prison immediately.

CB PLEASE READ!!!! “We have been linking stories about her in the featured links, they’re right above the comments, and in the afternoon links. You might want to check those out every day for stories we don’t cover”

I check your blog EVERYDAY at my work (I love it). My work blocks most things but amazingly your blog is not blocked. I often click on those links and 90% of them are blocked for me. 🙁 Please keep covering this drama! IT’S MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [I know, I know, it’s sad…but this whole Giudice drama is my guilty, guilty pleasure).

    Love,

    Long-time-Fan

    • Anony says:

Other comments; Her hair and makeup in that top photo look amazing. I love the hair style. There is NO WAY she did that herself. Ummmm, if you are going to jail on bankruptcy fraud shouldn’t your money be in the governments hands now?!?! I’m genuinely asking. She has to be spending big coin on hair and makeup if she’s getting it done for all public appearances?!?!

  19. Decloo says:

We can all look forward to her prison memoir and a sad spinoff off OITNB. Or maybe a prison reality show? “The Real Butches of Danbury Penn?”Anyway, I thought Bedford was the chic, sought-after ladies’s prison.
