Here are some new photos of Nicole Kidman at the 20th anniversary runway show for Shanghai Tang in Shanghai yesterday. I’m assuming she’s wearing the designer. It’s almost a Maleficent-esque look – I could totally see Angelina Jolie wearing this gown at some point. I also think it’s interesting that Nicole does so many appearances in China. I’ve always assumed that Nicole probably rakes in crazy appearance fees for flying halfway around the world to attend seemingly random fashion events and awards shows. What do you think? Is she being paid or does she just like to get dressed up and support the Chinese fashion and film communities?
Nicole has been mentioned a lot in the press surrounding Renee Zellweger’s new face. A lot has been written about women aging in the public eye and whether we should even talk about it when an actress appears in public with an entirely new face or a face full of so much Botox and fillers that their cheeks look like marble. My take: while I have sympathy for the women who fear aging to the extent that they’re getting this horrible plastic surgery, I also feel like discussing said plastic surgery is fair game. Obviously.
Meanwhile, Nicole has been having a rough few months. Her father passed away suddenly about a month ago and I get the feeling that Nicole’s whole family has been left reeling. Nicole’s kids with Tom Cruise didn’t even come to the funeral either, which… ugh, that sucks. Nicole gave an interview to an Australian radio show a few weeks ago where she discussed how difficult it’s been to lose her father. She also said that she still (at the age of 47) hopes that she could get pregnant again, saying: “I hope every month that I’m pregnant. but I never am. I would be jumping for joy if it happens. I’m 47, it won’t happen.” Incidentally, Naughty But Nice Rob (gossip guy, he’s right sometimes but not that often) claims that Nicole and Keith are in “the final stages” of adopting a baby. If it’s true, good for them.

I don’t think there’s a real comparison between Renee and Nicole — Nicole still looks like herself. Yes, frozen and unusually porcelain/pristine, but that’s her face.
You are totally correct: it’s obvious that Kidman has had work done, but she still looks like Nicole Kidman. I don’t know who the hell that lady calling herself Zellweger is. She is unrecognizable now.
Nicole also went bit by bit, making her change more of a progression. But make no mistake – she looks drastically altered from her original fa c e.
Not a fan of the dress but her face looks like it’s settled since her promotion of that princess Grace movie when it looked painful. She looke a lot better here.

That gown is doing nothing for me. It needs alterations of some sort. The only word that comes to mind is ‘heavy’.
What is up with her children with Tom? When she decided to leave that mess did she leave her kds? I never understood the dynamic there. It seems they could at least attend their grandfather’s funeral.
I always wondered, there was a story that the kids even called Katie Holmes ‘mum’ and called her Nicole. I think it has to do with scientology,when she left Tom they kids may have had to chose. Just like now we never see Tom with Suri. I think the cult thinks if you abandon then they must cut all ties with you.
Yeah, Nicole is considered a “suppressive person” by Sci, and all Scientologists, including her kids, are discouraged/forbidden from seeing her. I think they see her occasionally, as in once or twice a year. Sad for everyone involved.
That is basically how it works. She left Scientology and her kids either had to abandon everything they knew, or basically cut her out of their lives. It’s very sad.
The same thing happened with my cousin. He joined Scientology and while he occasionally will answer an email, none of his family have seen him in at least six years.
I think those kids have been swallowed whole by Scientology, and Nicole has been labelled a ‘suppressive person’, meaning they aren’t allowed to contact her. Sick.
There are alot of pictures of her and the kids after she and Tom split. It dose seem that once he married Katie it stop. Conor did gave an interview to Women’s Day earlier this year saying his relationship with Nicole was solid.
So I’m surprised he wasn’t at the funeral but then again maybe they never had a relationship with him.
That is what I was thinking – that they either weren’t close with him, or they couldn’t get away due bigSci.
It also doesn’t help that he allegedly fled the country due to a pedophile ring being exposed.

Tommy’s kids would not attend the funeral because their grandfather was a psychologist. Public enemy #1 to the Scis. It’s unfortunate that those kids are not brought up to respect their elders.
I call BS on the adoption story she also talk about Keith not wanting any more kids in that radio interview and others interviews. If anything I think the would us a surrogate like last time.

Nicole seems to work so much (she has many movies coming out, granted not time consuming blockbusters but still, and makes so much appearences and she lives in Australia so that is. a lot of travelling) that I do not know how she has the energy to want a another child at 47.

Back at the time that Nicole left Tom, many people thought Scientology was a religion. Back then, she might’ve had a really rough time of it. Some people who have spoken out against Scientology have never been seen again, or had car wrecks, or just really bad luck to somehow hang themselves with their arms tied behind them. As for Katie, I wouldn’t risk my child, either. Katie isn’t with Suri 24/7 if she goes to school.
I believe she was seen going to Catholic Church after Tom so I guess that was her statement. I don’t blame her for being afraid to say anything.
She travels to China more than the normal Hollywood famemonger. I’ve always thought that her connections there were strange, at best. I agree, the dress looks costumish and heavy on her. Why in the world would her appearance be necessary at their fashion week for a mostly unkown outside of China designer? Probably a big paycheck for her, plus all expenses paid, just like the Omega events. Most people could care less about her being a spokesperson.

Absolutely she would get appearance fees. She is also close to Wendi Deng, Rupert Murdoch’s ex who still has a very high profile in China & prob made connections.
When they lived in LA we had play dates at her house. She is 100% involved in her kids lives… More than most moms… If she wasn’t at the play date then she would be on skype the whole time. She’s lovely. I hope they have another child. A little boy maybe…
Nicole adored her father. They were so close. I know she is in so much pain right now. You put your public face on and go out into the world, but the new and fresh grief and pain, is there all the time. Plus, she is probably very worried about her mom and wishes she lived closer. I’m glad she has young children to bring some light into her life. Their giggles and laughter can help ease a lot of that pain. And she has a supportive husband.
