Kim Kardashian’s birthday was last week, October 21st to be exact. To celebrate her actual birthday, Kanye West surprised her by waking her up at 3 am so they could fly to Hawaii for a mini-break. Which is sweet, although I think most moms would have preferred to just get a solid eight hours of sleep, you know? Anyway, Kim celebrated her birthday publicly by hostessing a party at TAO nightclub in Las Vegas on Friday. These are some photos from the event.
At this point, I’m kind of tired of seeing Kim’s body on display in awkward clothing. I think there are some women who can pull off sexy, revealing clothes and manage to actually look comfortable. Kim rarely looks comfortable. Her body looks like it was sculpted out of plastic and you could tell she didn’t love her dress because she was tugging at it and adjusting herself in half the red carpet shots. Kanye was there too, and for what it’s worth, he seemed happy to be there for his girl. Khloe was there too. She wore a gold grill, because of course.
The ES Standard Magazine released their full interview with Kim, which you can read here. I covered some of the early excerpts from the piece last week. The full article is well-written, but it’s done in that patronizing style of many UK journalists, especially when they’re dealing with American celebrities. Kim is perfectly pleasant in the piece and the journalist even admits as much, that Kim is one of the nicest celebrities she’s ever interviewed. There’s not much new info there, but Kim does admit that if she takes a bad selfie, she edits the photo before she posts it. Yeah, we know girl.

THIS IS GETTING VERY OLD. Another day, another view of beach balls stuffed into a tube. Nothing in this universe can make KK graceful or stylish. She will always look like an awkward cow because her body is unnatural, her feet are always at strange angles, and she refuses to wear clothes that fit. She did this to herself artificially and deliberately, so calling out her weird proportions is not “body-shaming.” KK is without shame!

Her fashion and the terrible surgery make me cringe. I will say that her coloring is beautiful. I pretty much always like her makeup too. But she is usually always a huge fashion fail.

I do not think many father go about showing their abs in this kind of event. If they would I would say something. But it just a fact some women like to dress in a very revealing way, it is more common than men doing it.
Maria ITA. Mothers are human sexual beings too. Kim shouldn’t dress that way because it doesn’t suit her body type. But if she were otherwise a decent person and good mom, I’d say more power to her to enjoy her youth however she chooses when the kids are being safely cared for elsewhere.

No one in that family will ever teach her the value of an education, talk about current events at the dinner table, or instill morales and ethics. I too wish she would put her boobs away. She looks ridiculous but that’s nothing new. And it looks like she’s wearing so much bronzer or something that you know that dress was instantly ruined as soon as she put it on. The inside is probably now a ghastly shade of orange.

Her look– the look she has created for herself–is unsustainable. Things are starting to go south and no amount of surgery will make her look the way she wants to look, ie, the way she looked ten years ago. She’s beginning to look overripe. Most women her age (and I’m a lot older than she is) learn that you can’t be the sex bomb forever, so you cultivate something else–looking elegant, looking fit, looking well put together, whatever. (I’m not even going to mention cultivating talent or intelligence, because she has neither, so that’s a lost cause). But her whole look is tits and ass and showing them to the world. She’s only going to get heavier and trashier looking as the years go on.

Not at all Maria just that I’m sure her mother will make sure it’s publicized. The inevitable aging will be really tough on her….. that together with a maturing Nori may push her over the edge. Just the reality of an aging narcicisst with body dysmorphia and self-esteem issues.
She does seem to have body dysmorphia. It seems as if she doesn’t realize what her best features are (the way she looked a few years back, a more natural face, pretty hair and eyes, nice cleavage when it’s not out all day every day). But she emphasizes her worst features (her back, short legs that look shorter with those stupid ankle strap shoes and long hemline, too much butt, boobs that need support). I also think there’s a dynamic with Kayne where he wants her goods on display all the time to make him seem manlier (and that’s a whole ‘nother issue).
As a woman shaped very similar to Kim, it’s cool to see that she has the confidence to wear stuff like this. Not that I think its figure-flattering, I just think it’s nice that she’s not ashamed of her body, as many others seem to imply that she should be.

While I personally think Kim tends to gravitate towards ill-fitting clothing (and I’d say that’s fair game except its just so boring) I am really uncomfortable with discussing someone’s back fat, because I feel that says a lot more about the observer than the person wearing the tacky clothes. Yes, Kim long ago turned her body and her personal life into commodities, but I simply have no desire to take someone apart piece by piece like that.

Bridget, most celeb women have fake body parts. Lets not act as if she’s the only one that’s been surgically enhanced. The issue is that she’s choses to enhance her body to fit the OPPOSITE of what most people consider the standard of beauty.
Anon33, exactly. As if there aren’t women that are naturally shaped like her. Her clothing is definitely much too revealing, but I don’t find her to be physically disgusting. Seeing the same comments about her over and over again is getting so old.

Jen34, I respectfully disagree. I read this site often enough to see comments like “Who would want to have a body like that,” “she has a diaper booty,” and the other day, “Men don’t make passes at girls with large asses.” Those are comments about her body, not the clothing she wears.

I’m certainly not implying that she’s the only woman in Hollywood to get extensive plastic surgery – but that wasn’t the topic at hand. I just find it ironic that you’re commenting on her comfort with her own, unconventional figure, when for someone to have undergone such extensive work she clearly wasn’t comfortable with the body she was born with. Not to be crass, but she paid a lot of money for her current figure, I can understand why she’d want to show it off, but even then considering her famous reliance on Photoshop for her personal photos it could lead one to believe that she’s not all that comfortable even now.
That being said, I am not comfortable adding any commentary about anyone’s body, even Kim Kardashian. It’s weird and its creepy to stare at photos looking for cellulite lumps and back fat rolls, and I don’t even click on most KK stories because of it (which is probably the meanest thing you could ever do to a Kardashian).
I think she is deeply ashamed of her body, and has done lots to change it. She has made her face look so generic, and obviously did not like her curves as they were. She got rid of that which made her, her. There are so many women who truly embrace their bodies and their curves, but she seems to far from that.

I don’t think the extreme low cut top works well on her body type (it’s more flattering on someone with smaller boobs, for example JLo in that green dress and Amy Adams in American Hustle), but IMO it’s one of her better looks. It’s not too tight for once and doesn’t have that sausage casing effect. I’d even say she looks nice in it.

Yes most mothers would rather have a good night sleep instead of being woken up at 3am…however we are talking about Kim Kardashian. She probably gets 12 hours of sleep a night. Remember she pays someone to get up in the night when her daughter is crying. Kind of a waste to go to Hawaii for just one night. That’s insane. And on top of that to tweet about it so everyone knows. Can’t these two keep anything private? The dress is typical Kim style. Nothing new. Looks like she put some extensions back in event hough she recently bragged about how she didn’t need extensions anymore because she was using some product (she got paid to endorse) that makes your hair thicker or longer or something.
As a side note, there is a hilarious video going around of Kim when she was 13, it’s a must see ! She was voted “most likely to lie about her ethnicity” by her classmates…how telling is that ? She also brags in the video about how she’s the most popular kid at her school and how she’s going to famous one day.

After seeing a pic of Kloe without makeup recently, I realized just how much contouring makeup these women wear.. Kloe has a sort of pug nose, but when she is wearing makeup it’s really defined. Amazing on some level.
Go on YouTube and you can view many videos of women doing their make-up using contouring techniques. The results are insane. It’s straight up trickery lol.
I actually looked at the picture and pondered how great we would all look if we had someone “contour” us everyday. I assume that it only looks great when you know what you are doing.
Yeah, contouring is pretty incredible – it’s one of those things I think all women should watch a tutorial on just so they can realize how much smoke and mirrors goes into Hollywood. I like to contour my face slightly because I’m very fair and it keeps me from looking like a ghostly pancake in the winter, but I really don’t have the time or patience to do anything that extensive. I like highlighting the actual shape of my face, not morphing it into something completely different.
Also adding that I don’t think Kim’s clothes make her uncomfortable, she is not someone who is generally comfortable in her own skin. I am thinking about her dancing with the stars performance in particular but there are lots of other examples.
Kim’s stylist is a young Asian hipster girl… This explains everything.
This is…actually not that bad, honestly. It’s pretty risque in the chest area, but she avoided the mistake of going for a high cut on the seam, so the length of the dress keeps it from going into club territory. What I don’t like about it is the depth of the slit – I think it stumpefies her to a certain extent, and it would be a touch more flattering if the V-cut hit higher.
She needs to lay off the tanning bed, though. She’s practically neon here.
Well she looks rather awful to me. I think her dress is the wrong fabric and it looks incredibly cheap and her shoes make her look like her legs look way too short for her head and butt. Kim normally looks tacky on a good day. This was NOT a good day for her. She must take hours to get that makeup done it is just so caked on and her hair looks greying in some shots. She may only be 34 but she looks so much older and so used up. Her eyes are always dead looking. I don’t understand why anyone would pay even $5.00 dollars to see her and her equally tacky family.
