Sharon Osbourne sued for battery

Reality TV “stars” never cease to amaze me. Megan Hauserman, a contestant on “Rock of Love: Charm School,” is suing Sharon Osbourne, the show’s host, for physically attacking her in a reunion segment that aired on January 5th. The fight started when Megan, wearing a skimpy yellow bikini, told Sharon that she was a celebrity only because of her “brain dead” rocker husband, Ozzy Osbourne. (In Megan’s defense, Sharon had just told her that she shouldn’t be allowed to breed.) After the insult about her husband, Sharon splashed a cupful of red wine all over Megan. The camera cut away just at the place where Megan is now claiming Sharon physically assaulted her.

Megan Hauserman claims Sharon went ballistic during a taping, punching and grabbing her by the hair and refusing to let go, and scratching her to boot. Osbourne opened the can of whoop ass after Megan told Sharon she was famous only because she managed a brain dead rock star.

In a lawsuit filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, Hauserman is suing Osbourne for battery, negligence and infliction of emotional distress.

Sharon has always been vocal about protecting her family, and she will go to great lengths to defend them. But how can she host a show in which she is trying to teach trashy girls how to respect themselves, and then stoop down to their level when one of them throws out a drunken insult? This, along with the interchange on the clip, makes me think that the scenario was scripted. I didn’t think for a second that it was real. But maybe it is – or maybe Megan is just looking for another 15 minutes of court room fame.

Equally confusing is Megan’s claim that the incident caused her “emotional distress.” Wouldn’t being a contestant on “Rock of Love” and “Charm School” be more emotionally scarring than having a glass of red wine thrown on you and your hair pulled? She was competing to be the true love of Bret Michaels, for goodness sake. The cat fights and screaming matches that occurred in the house during filming were surely more embarrassing. And what about showing up for the reunion drunk and wearing nothing but a bikini? A running theme in reality TV starring trashy girls always seems to be that the girls never blame themselves for anything, and this lawsuit is probably just a real-life expansion of that.

Oh please….if I had a dollar for every time a british lady threw wine at me….

  2. Wonder Woman says:

I saw it and Megan diserved it. I am so happy someone finally whooped that ass. SHARON IS AWESOME

  3. bizzibe says:

not a sharon fan, but i cheered her on that one time! megan definitely had it coming.

  4. geronimo says:

Pure trash. Got to love the idea that she suffered emotional distress. Prepare to be laughed out of court. Go Sharon.

  5. Holly says:

Apparently Sharon pulled out a bunch of hair down to the scalp. Not just hair pulled. Pulled OUT. Kinda gross.

As much as I love to see a stupid ho get a beat down, attacking people physically isn’t acceptable. We can’t freak out at Chris Brown one day and applaud Sharon the next. None of its ok.

Not that I advocate suing over it. Megan’s already gone a show called I Love Money, so it’ll be pretty easy throwing it out of court as frivolous.

  6. Orangejulius says:

Sharon – you’re so easy to love! One of a kind. (no sarcasm intended)

  7. Orangejulius says:

Oops, just saw the bit about the hair. No, that’s not OK. (But I still love Sharon)

  8. bc says:

not to defend Megan, but she does state a valid claim (legally, anyway), so the fact that she is on “I love money” has nothing to do with whether the claim will be thrown out as frivolous. someone’s personal life, etc. is not relevant in determining the validity of a claim. having said that, she will probably settle or drop the charges later…

    (stepping off soapbox)

  9. seriously wtf says:

Im not a fan of either one. Im not saying megan didnt deserve a beat down, maybe she did. Just not on camera. It looked a little brutal & i would probably sue too. Just to have the last say. Violence is not ok. Ever. Even if she is a drunken bleach blonde hillabilly with some fake hooters. I have a feeling they are gonna settle out of court. Either way Sharon will lose some money. Even if its just to makes this go away.

  10. Feebee says:

I’ve never seen this slapper Megan before but Sharon does seem to get away with a lot of bad and in particular bad physical behaviour under the guise of “defending her family”.

First mistake was having Sharon on this kind of show. Match meet dynamite.

  11. Ashley says:

shirts off, lets get it on!

  12. neelyo says:

I agree with Feebee. I’m not a fan of Sharon Osbourne and if her family wasn’t such a bunch of idiots she wouldn’t always have to be defending them. She’s just Linda Hogan with an accent.

  13. gg says:

I hate to admit that, while I am against physical violence, I saw the show and rooted for Sharon, only because Megan is such a reprehensible mistake for a woman.

  14. caribassett says:

Good on you Sharon, no one needed to talk about Sharons husband. Trash talk and be dumb all you want, but family should be off limits.

  15. Christina says:

while i don’t like megan, i think sharon is being a total hypocrit her… physically attacking someone while she vehemently condemns violence on the reality show… not that i was buying it anyway, she’s and her family have been pretty cookoo from the start…

  16. RUFFNSWEET says:

Look if Sharon didn’t want to get her husband talked about, then dammit she shouldn’t have started with the insults period! I am not a fan of neither one but one thing’s for sure…. Don’t get on a reality show teaching women how to become ladies and then turn around and do the opposite of what you were supposedly teaching. Sharon you are lame.

  17. Ceenitall says:

So if this was Chris Brown beeting Rihanna would it still be okay? Is just a little violence okay? Is violence okay when the person getting the beat deserves it?

I didn’t hear anyone saying go Chris, you can’t have it both ways. I really didn’t like Megan, really didn’t, but I hope she gets lots of money and Sharon learns a lesson.

  18. Aussie says:

    Go Sharon, you rock man!
Sharon Osborne is one smart cookie and is responsible for Ozzie, being as big as he was/is!
Without her guidance/management, he never would have been what he became.
The slut with the pvc tits, horse hair extensions, deserved it totally. What is she famous for? Screwing to get where she is? She will now ONLY ever be known for the slag Sharon snotted!

  19. Holly says:

    @bc

Oh really? Is that so? Tell that to every person who’s ever been a witness in a court case and been deemed irrelevant and unreliable because of their private lives. Just one example, the R Kelly case.

  20. SixxKitty says:

If people have issues with others, its not ok to blame their family for for, i don’t see Chris Browns family being blamed for what he did, why should Sharons be?
as an aside… don’t talk the talk if you can’t walk the walk.. i imagine it will not be the last time tiny-tiny-yellow-bikini’s mouth gets her into trouble…
    stay tuned people…

  21. steve larque says:

Megan just wanted to be famous. Well she got what what wanted. She should be thanking Sharon for extending her 15 minutes of fame. Too bad megan’s dog was absent. Sharon would of gotten that pretty, and her little dog, too. EEEE HEEEE HEEEE HEEEE !!!!
