I’m so excited for Halloween tonight! This is the first year I have a house in town where we should get steady trick or treaters. I ordered a bunch of little things to give out from Oriental Trading. (Not a paid plug, but send me free stuff if you want.) I also have a foam graveyard set up in the front yard with spotlights. My costume will be a skeleton face as usual, but I ordered some temporary tattoos to do it so it should look cool. Halloween is a lot of fun. We’ll be bringing you more Halloween coverage today, Sunday and into next week. First off are photos from Kate Hudson’s annual Halloween party. This year the theme was Sons of Anarchy. Kate posted the Instagram photo above where she’s posing with Peter Kim of the luxury jean Hudson Jeans (from what I can tell he’s not a relation and the jean name is a coincidence. Let me know if you have more info on that.) Kate thanked Kim for help with the costumes, which as you can see were pretty racy. Here’s another photo of Kate, this time with her mom, Goldie Hawn, and friends. Not to be indelicate, but I watch SOA (at least up until this season, they lost me this season) and the only women who dress like Kate’s costume on that show are hookers. Goldie is probably Gemma though. She needs a brunette wig! 
Also at the party was Jessica Alba, who made an awesome Slash of Guns ‘n Roses. She was with a friend, her husband Cash Warren was also there, but he was dressed as a character from Revenge of The Nerds with his friends. 
Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale were dressed as vampires. I might say that’s boring, but they went all out and I do a skeleton every year without fail so who am I to complain? 
Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid were creepy dolls.

Katy Perry did a Flaming Hot Cheeto. Awesome costume idea! She just needed to smear orange stuff on her face, then this costume would be complete. Pippa tip: don’t be afraid to get ugly for your costume. I do appreciate that Katy didn’t do sexy, that’s her default.
Some half-assed costumes were also worn by Aaron Eckhart (still sexy) and Adam Sandler, who only bothered to wear a hat. Also, Lily Allen dressed as producer Dr. Luke. Is this some kind of diss to Kesha? Also shown: Kurt Russell looking very SOA biker hot and David Spade not quite pulling it off. Ooh I know which character David Spade is, that dude who had his SOA back tattoo forcibly burned off.

Lol… so I’m dressed as Waldo as a group halloween thing for the office. I only agreed to it because I owned a red and white striped shirt. I legit took my husbands red toque, and wrapped a piece of white duct tape around it to give it a stripe. I am the laziest Halloween person ever. This is the first costume I’ve bothered with since…. jr high maybe?
Flaming Hot Cheeto is genius… Everything else is meh

Most of the costumes are cute. I would never have guessed that Maria Menounos was Kelly from Saved by the bell. She should have been Screech. That would have been funnier.
I think it’s a nice party, and Kate wants to remind us she has the most killer abs in the biz.
My costume will be easy: I’ve found a gigantic hat, a pair of sunglasses and I’ll go as fancy lawyer Amal.
Kurt Russell….hmm. I always flash back to Overboard when I see him. It’s not a bad thing.
I like when people go all out like Katy. If I could afford something so elaborate that didn’t require much time and effort on my part, I totally would do it.
Last year, I went through my kids tickle trunk to find a last minute costume. I found a clown’s tie and shoes, a black bowler hat, batman mask, vampire cape and prisoner shirt and pants. Put together, I was budget Hamburglar.

My continuing theme is “trashy rocker chick” originally inspired by early Ms Love: holy tights, garish colors, wig, boots, smeary makeup. I’ve detoured to do Sarah Palin and Ms Frizzle of The Magic Schoolbus (kids book and tv series).
