I might have to give Kim Kardashian some begrudging credit for her Halloween costumes this year. Why is that? Because Kim resisted the urge to expose her body in weird and unique ways. I guess she just saves that kind of stuff for non-Halloween days. For Halloween this year, Kim did two different costumes. The second costume is above, the head pic. Kim was Anna Wintour and she put North West in a little black muumuu, which means North was Andre Leon Talley. There’s also a mini-Karl Lagerfeld and a Grace Coddington. Grace Coddington was played by Kim’s makeup artist and friend Joyce Bonelli and Joyce’s son was mini-Karl.
People think that Kim is aiming for that second Vogue cover. Perhaps. That would certainly piss people off and the crazy would go next-level. I think Kim’s costume is pretty clever though – she clearly searched out and found a really great Wintour Wig. Too bad she didn’t spend the money for a real Chanel suit. That costume suit looks budget as hell.
The other set of Halloween costumes… Kim was a skeleton. Basically, she wanted to wear something skin-tight, but I do like her makeup there. And North got a little skunk costume, which is ADORABLE. North is such a cutie.

Eh, spanks, push up bras, control top hose, corsets, and even makeup are ways we all make our bodies look unrealistic. Not doing anything we haven’t been doing for centuries. I’m not going braless for the sake of portraying a realistic body type, sorry. I’m shoving those babies up and out. And seriously, who wouldn’t wear some kind of tight hose or spanx top under a spandex body suit?? I’ll be conservative and say half would at least smooth the rolls somehow.

I’m a size 0/2 and I will still wear spanx. Especially if a dress is black and on the snug side. It’s safer for vpl reasons to do so.

Now that you mention it, I think so. I’m not sure if it’s genuine or out of embarrassment. I’ve seen A LOT more critical articles and comments about the OTT, sexy costumes for women. I don’t think it’s as “cute” as it used to be. Although it always looked ridiculous to me.
I think it’s become a cliche. People don’t want to be ridiculed for wearing a passe costume.

Not in my city, in the inner city core at least. Every year, it’s the same: so many women confusing sexy with slutty. I mean, there’s sexy, and then there’s downright crass and vulgar and it just makes Halloween less fun. Out of aaaallll the costumes you could do, they basically go for T&A. Charming. I had a mini argument with co-worker on Friday about his comment that it should be called Slutoween, but I kinda think he’s right. Maybe I’ll lose my feminist card, but it feels like it’s become just too much. God and my friends with kids, they’re just out of their tree trying to explain to their kids what they’re seeing and the inevitable “why?”. Next year, they’re going to some kid party at a mall and that’s it. No trick or treating.
As to the article, the skunk costume is soooo adorable and I kind of like the skeletor costume, but it would have been cuter if she had gone with a mama skunk costume. Missed opportunities, that mother of year right there.
I think you’re seeing some pushback, but not as much as there really should be. It’s at least reaching a level of farcical at this point. I mean, I’m cool if women want to dress like that, whatever floats your boat, but I’d like some selection for those of us living in areas that hit temps in the 30s by the time Halloween rolls around.

Isn’t this just a normal day for Kim? Spend 5 hours getting hair and make-up done just to take pics, photoshop those pics, and put on instagram ? What I don’t understand is they never show North’s face on their reality show, just the back of her head because Kim and Kanye decided not to allow their daughter to be on the show…YET they have no issue with forcing her to take pics like this that will be seen all around the world? I don’t get it. That kid is so cute, I could look at pics of her all day. Cutie pie ! I love the look she’s giving in that pic of her at the top of the stairs “Umm mom you know I just learned how to walk and you’re gonna just let me go down these stairs all by myself…put down the damn camera woman !”.

The first was how utterly adorable she looks, but then I couldn’t help but notice how close she is to the top of stairs. All that money and they can’t afford a baby gate? Great costumes, though.

My second thought after seeing the skunk photo (first being that she’s adorable): why is there is no baby barricade (or whatever it’s actually called) by the stairs?!
There should definitely be a baby gate at the top and bottom of those stairs.
They’re highly inconvenient to waddle one’s filler-stuffed ass over, but they do prevent unplanned trips to the ER and injuries to one’s child.
My first thought is, how does AW feel about this? Is she flattered or annoyed? To me, it just seems like a sad attempt at ass kissing. And since AW seems to tolerate KK is she amused by that attempt or just over it all.
I rarely react to babies and toddlers but the SkunkNorth pic is utterly adorable…look at her tiny pointy toes! For once she looks quite happy.
Her Mama remained oddly recognisable…..even only from the neck up….in the skellington suit. It’s that frozen, downward-tilting, not-quite-smiling face she always sports.
(I loved Blue Ivy as Michael Jackson too….it must indeed be a joy for parents to indulge in this kind of dressup, rather than miniature couture ensembles like bewildered North!)

North knows Andre quite well though, so for her it was dressing up like a family friend. Still not all that fun, but not that weird either.
I think she has met Andre only a few times. I wouldn’t say he is someone she sees on the regular. It’s not a “fun” costume for a kid.
You know what I love her costumes. Skin tight but still… pretty damn cool. Certainly not as slutty as the standard womens costumes are these days. And that little skunk is freaking adorable.
the skeleton costume photos are photoshopped the the hilt…..look add the areas between arms and body some slimming has be done all over to make her look smaller ……all the bulges and rolls and folds have been shopped out….as for the baby …yes she is cute but not any cuter then most 16 mos olds . or her cousins or anybody else…and that photo shows a total disregard for her safety just to take a photo…she is one step away from tumbling down those steps…and she is looking back like she is running away from someone…and the other photo she is not a happy camper and Kim is having to hold her still ….

kim is a great example of how styles can make your figure look totally different. in the top pictures, she looks thin. in the skeleton picture, she looks more hourglass. for work, i wear pants with tiny pockets in dark colors with simple lines to make me look thinner and minimize my hips. if i want to go out and look curvier, i wear tight skinny jeans with distressing across the thighs and pockets on the butt. she’s actually not fat but her implants and filled booty make her look bigger in certain styles that emphasize them.
These are some fun costumes. And I have to say, I wasn’t that upset by Kim’s Vogue cover? I thought it was actually pretty and the editorial is cute. Vogue isn’t what it used to be anyway, so I never got the huge uproar.
