Kacey won Song of The Year for “Follow Your Arrow.” I ordinarily wouldn’t make someone like Kacey Musgraves the lead fashion girl on a fashion post, but everyone is talking about her hair this morning, which must suck for Faith Hill, because she also debuted a new hairstyle last night at the CMAs and barely anyone is discussing it. Kacey decided to GO BIG OR GO HOME, hair-wise. Her hair is… amazing. It’s a real-life example of Country Music Hair. The higher the hair, the closer to God. Kacey’s gown is Oscar de la Renta, by the way. The gown is fine. It’s the hair that takes everything next-level.
And here’s Faith Hill and her new pixie cut. Faith used to be the first lady of country, but she and Tim got usurped by Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert. Do you think there are hard feelings? I do wonder. Anyway, Faith’s dress is Naeem Khan. It’s pretty boring.
Jana Kramer… this is the girl who dated Scott Eastwood, right? So we know she likes ‘em pretty and not that bright. Her ball gown is Badgley Mischka Spring 2015. While I don’t like this particular look, I do love that Badgley Mischka is having a comeback AND that country girls and mixing it up.
Martina McBride in Oscar de la Renta – this is a great look for her. Maybe a little too “young” but it’s nice.

I love Kacey. She is very tongue-in-cheek with her lyrics and her fashion choices. She obviously was going for some high-hair, late 1960’s inspired Country do’. This was wonderfully tacky and brilliant of her.

I strive for hair like that regularly. I do love that big Texas hair and lord a mighty that is big. It must be full of secrets.
Definitely Texas big hair. Faith looks “frozen” and a tad tough. Tim has lost so much weight, she is bigger than he is now.
Faith doesn’t look frozen to me. She has lines all over her face and eyes, and it’s just a still photo. She’s just older and is someone whose face shows it more. Sometimes I’m caught in a photo looking like a deer caught in headlights too.
So…how do you do it? Lots of teasing and hairspray? My hair is super fine and flat, so I’d love to max the volume…!
@Megs, my hair is super fine too, I am fairly certain that she has lots of pieces put in, not just extensions, but I can get mine really big. I use freshly washed hair, I let it dry in a towel until it is just damp, then I use a volumizing spray on all the roots, especially the underside. I like BedHead Superstar. Dry it upside down then spray heavily with hair spray, flip up and curl with a large barrel iron, spray again and finger comb, then rat starting right behind the crown. Use the tail of the comb to separate the layers and move foward ratting each section, spraying the underneath and laying it on the section before it. Only rat the roots and only spray the roots. Finish it by a thin coat of shine spray applied lightly with your hands, curl any funky pieces and spray lightly one more time. Enjoy being a little closer to Jesus!

It’s full of secrets and an airliner bottle of tequila. Tease like your life depends on it! I work with a lady whose hair is epic; it’s almost as long as it is tall. Her pony tails are a foot wide.

Yeah, that is totally not a “new” haircut for Faith Hill. She had that exact hairstyle when she broke out in the late 90s (the original Country/Pop crossover era of Shania Twain, etc). She didn’t go long til she got those bad extensions in the early 2000s. I officially know way too much about Faith Hill’s hair apparently. LoL
I have thought for years that Faith Hill will not age well, and it looks like I’m at least kinda right. Those deep lines on either side of her mouth really age her, and she always looks about 15lbs too light. She’s at the age now where she needs to pick her body or her face–gaining a few pounds would actually make her look younger.
I really liked Faith’s dress. She is also a woman who can pull off long or short hair. I don’t know what Kacey was thinking with that hair.

Haha. Poor Melanie never had good hair and that wig was atrocious. But in the day she had that voice and that body. Plus she was smart enough to stay with Antonio while filming Evita and not let Madonna get her paws on him!
I think Faith looks great, if a touch uncomfortable maybe. When you zoom in to a full-size photo you can see plenty of lines on her face so I don’t think she’s out of control on the botox. I don’t know who Kacey Musgraves is, honestly, I thought I was looking at Lea Michele!

She also sang a duet with Loretta Lynne, and I kinda think the hair and her performance dress were a nod to that era of country music female performers. Loretta was rocking the dress and hair from yesteryears as well.
QQ, you can’t deny it is the best at being the worst. I mean, she is OWNING it’s ugliness to a point of loveliness… maybe not loveliness… whatever, she’s embracing that monstrosity and throwing it in our faces like ‘wut?’ I have to respect that, I have to.

I don’t think Kasey wore her hair like that for long. She won for “Follow Your Arrow” fairly early if I recall correctly, and I don’t remember her hair looking like that. That’s not a look you’re likely to forget! And she was wearing a short dress when she performed with Loretta Lynn (who is a goddess).

I absolutely adore Kasey Musgraves but her hair gets an “F”. It looks terrible. I think it would like better if it had some body or some wave to it. Because it’s long and straight it just looks wrong.
So, Faith Hill is an example of that saying, there’s a certain age you reach where you have to decide on your face or your body. She needs to ad some weight!

Although i do love BIG hair, this hair is just overly big and unappealing……she could have just done big and let it go at that. Definitely, she looks old school.
