Marc Anthony dated Shannon de Lima on-and-off for about three years. For real! We first started talking about them in December 2011/January 2012. I think they split at one point (or several points), but they’ve been back “on” for much of this year. Marc Anthony is a married man! The singer, 46, wed model Shannon de Lima in front of close friends and family at his home in La Romana, Dominican Republic, on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press. The couple, who got engaged in March, dated on-and-off since 2012.
Anthony – whose divorce from Jennifer Lopez was finalized in June – has been vocal about his unshaken dream of finding a lasting romance.
“I believe in relationships,” he told Wendy Williams in February.
“God has blessed me in so many ways. Material things go, but so far. Success goes, but so far, but when your house is empty and you don’t have someone to invest in – if you don’t have a witness, it’s almost worthless.”
I think Marc Anthony is probably a controlling S.O.B., especially as a husband. It’s sort of a wonder that J.Lo managed to make it ten years with him. And it’s no surprise that his third wife would be much younger, much less experienced and much more “tethered” to his money, fame and control. But they’ve been together for a while and she’s old enough to know what’s going on. I hope for her sake that the prenup is generous.

Considering Marc’s rumored financial issues, I am pretty surprised he let Chloe Green get away (though I’m guessing that may have not been his choice).

No, they separated after 7 years in 2011. But the divorce wasn’t finalized until this year, making it 10. A bit confusing.

Does he really have financial issues? Outside the US this dude is a superstar. In Latin America he, not jlo was the big deal. He gave her, a nonspanish speaking Latina credibility when e n they recorded songs and toured together. He has a fantastic and very pure singing voice. Despite his miniature Dracula appearance there is a sensuality and stage presence about him. He is a much better singer than say….usher Raymond or Justin Timberlake for comparison.
He definitely is the marrying type but I feel like jlo is the love of his life. However Jlo isn’t the traditional little wife. I’m a fan of this guy’s voice. He could do opera and I would enjoy it.
I’ve seen allusions to him having financial difficulties. And he’s been hit with tax liens in the millions TWICE, and of course he pays child support for 5 children (and whatever he had to pay Dayanara to get out of that marriage).
And J Lo may very well have been the love of his life, but I don’t exactly think it was mutual.
I have a friend with lots of Non-Latina friends that tell him about Marc having that something: that ‘no sé qué!’. As an artist he’s a great Singer full of presence and great voice. As an actor he’s done decent movies sharin the scene with Denzel Washington. JLo and him in El Cantante (The Singer) was ok. I hope he can find a permanent love venue and stability. And so JLo for the sake of their twins.
I don’t think he’s really looking for stability. Just think about the story that J Lo told recently – she had just broken up with Ben and was feeling low and Marc said he was there waiting for her (or something like that) – but neglects to mention the detail that he was very much still married to Dayanara at that point!
I guess because I’m single, live alone and come home to an empty house, my life is “almost worthless.” Good to know!
This marriage is not going to work. This 27 year old model sees $ signs for her and her son Daniel. Marc should have stayed and worked things out with JLO for the sake of their kids. I believe JLO really loves him. I believe Ben was her first love but she grew to love Marc and his large “Endowment”. JLO after being with so many well endowed black men to further her career, Jlo needs and misses Marc’s “Endowment”. Anyway, at least JLO has her own money. I just hoped he remembers his past tax issues/concerns and made this “GOLD DIGGER” sign a prenup.
