Jerry Hall hates cougars, writing book about Mick Jagger

At this point, Jerry Hall doesn’t really care. She doesn’t care who she alienates, who she bashes, who she criticizes, and she definitely doesn’t care about keeping up “cougar” appearances. I hate the word “cougar”. For the record, Jerry hates cougars.

By most accounts, Jerry still has a good relationship with her ex, Mick Jagger. After their split ten years ago, Jerry says she was approached by many younger men, hoping that she would be down for some cougar action. But Jerry’s not that kind of girl. She tells V Magazine (quotes via The Daily Mail): “I personally find having a sexual relationship with people in their twenties incredibly boring. I much prefer older people… [people in their 20s] haven’t the same references… And I find it a bit creepy if you’re having sex with people the same age as your children.” Funny. So is she bashing “cougars” like Madonna, or is she criticizing her ex Mick Jagger and his string of young girlfriends? You decide:

Since her high-profile split from Mick Jagger 10 years ago, Jerry Hall has been approached by a string of young men hoping to become her toyboy. While the ‘cougar’ formula appears to be working for Madonna, who has married and dated several younger men, the Texan supermodel, 52, is sticking to her age group.

Despite starring in the new Chanel advertisements alongside a handsome 19-year-old model, Jerry is adamant she won’t be giving up middle-aged boyfriends anytime soon.

In the stunning new ads for the Chanel accessories collection, designer Karl Lagerfeld shot a series of photographs in a Paris studio featuring Jerry in a clinch with Italian model Baptiste Giabiconi. In the shoot, age-defying Jerry is seen lying on silk sheets with Baptiste surrounded by Chanel accessories.

The sexy shoot is inspired by Cheri, the romantic novel by French author Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette. Cheri tells the tale of an old retired prostitute who is pursued by a young man who is in madly in love with her.

When asked if she would consider a young man, Jerry insisted she would find it comfortable, especially because she has children in their Twenties. Jerry has four children from her marriage to Rolling Stone Mick, including model Lizzie, 25; actor James, 23; Georgia, 17; and Gabriel, 11.

She told the new issue of American magazine V: ‘I personally find having a sexual relationship with people in their twenties incredibly boring. I much prefer older people.
‘(People in their Twenties) listen to such horrible music. They haven’t the same references… And I find it a bit creepy if you’re having sex with people the same age as your children.’

Some readers might take that as an oblique reference to Mick, who at 65 is seeing the American designer L’Wren Scott, 41.

Or course, the eldest of his seven children – by four women – is 38-year-old daughter Karis, born to Marsha Hunt. The Rolling Stone famously had an affair with Brazilian model Luciana Morad which prompted the end of his marriage to Jerry. Luciana was 28 when she gave birth to Mick’s youngest child Lucas in 1999.

Mick has also been romantically linked to a string of younger women over the decades, including France’s now First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and Sophie Dahl, a model 34 years his junior.

While Jerry enjoyed playing ‘cougar’ to her model co-star, she insisted she would never fall for a younger man in real-life.

Referring to Baptiste, Jerry enthused: ”He was just so beautiful, an amazing looking boy.’

After being asked to play such a controversial role in the shoot, Jerry said: ‘I’m thrilled about it and surprised that they keep asking me to model and do things because I never imagined I’d be asked to do it for so long… I’m not having any kind of plastic surgery or trying to look any way younger or stay younger. I’m very happy in my skin.’

Meanwhile, in between raising her children and modelling, Jerry is busy writing her autobiography. The book promises to tell all about her early modelling days in the Seventies, sharing a Paris flat with Grace Jones as well as revelations from her relationships with Mick and Bryan Ferry.

She said tellingly: ‘I’m sure it’s going to upset some people.’

From The Daily Mail

Now, I have a confession. I love trashy autobiographies, especially involving the film and music world. For a good read, I suggest Patty Boyd’s autobiography Wonderful Tonight, about her relationships with George Harrison and Eric Clapton. It’s really interesting, and Patty’s a pretty good writer. I hope Jerry finishes her book soon, because I would love to read the inside the story on Mick.

Note by Celebitchy: Jerry Hall did that reality show “Kept” in which she was looking for a younger guy, so maybe she’s speaking from experience.

Yeah, I can’t stand cougars either, they disgust me. And before people call me out, I also can’t stand it when guys date girls that can pass off as their own daughters. Please date closer to your own age people!

Loved this thread, thanks Kaiser. I found the Harrison/Clapton/Boyd triangle fascinating.

“…And I find it a bit creepy if you’re having sex with people the same age as your children.”

    Ya think???

  3. Rreedy says:

Jerry is a long tall Texan who is a no BS personality. She is one of those wonderful all American girls.
She wrote one biography years ago (loved it) and I am sure her next book will be even better.
    Love Jerry!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Kaiser says:

Daisy – Boyd’s book is really good! You can tell she *really* loved George, but she and Eric were just each other’s alcoholic enablers.

George wrote “Something” for Patty in India, as they were breaking up.

  5. CiCi says:

She looks great. And Kaiser, why does she have to be “bashing” or “criticizing” anyone? She said it herself: it’s a personal preference.

  6. Baholicious says:

She broke Bryan Ferry’s heart when she ran off with Jagger…

I watched her reality show, it was a real guilty pleasure. She’s a smart, sassy and very funny lady.

  7. Annie says:

I mean, there’s something creepy about dating someone who’s like a decade from you too! Not just “young enough to be your son/daughter” or “old enough to be your dad/mother”

Yes yes, “Age ain’t nothin’ but a number” (I hate that line, btw)

But seriously, I am baffled by the whole thing. From a man’s perspective, I can understand the appeal of the “older woman”. BF was 19 and dated a 34 year old at one point. (I tease him relentlessly for it. :)) And he explained that a large part is to be able to boast to your friends about it.

But really, the whole thing makes me >_<

I hate that word cougar, I think it is so sexist. I find nothing wrong with age differences. If Jennifer Anniston and Demi Moore found true love, go for it. A soul mate is very hard to find.

  9. sissoucat says:

She does look like she had plastic surgery but she says she had not ? I’m confused.

As for a lover younger than me, I wouldn’t do it except if he had a solid experience. Because I hate it when men are so proud of their steam hammer impression.

And I don’t think it’s creepy to have more than a decade in age difference, if the youngest is at least in his/her 30s. A soul mate is indeed not that easy to find.

  10. Kaiser says:

Sissou – Perhaps the air-brushing is throwing you off? In regular pics, you can tell that she hasn’t had any (or much) work done.

Was she in the movie Under the Tuscan Sun?

Love me some Jerry Hall. Can’t wait to read her book.

  13. About cougars says:

I’m in my late thirties and I’m not normally attracted to guys in their twenties, but a few years ago I did have a cougar fling with a man 14 years younger. I don’t have children, so the added ‘creepiness’ of sleeping with someone my children’s age wasn’t there. But yes, at times I would get kind of creeped out by his youth. Indeed.

Having said that, ladies (and gents) please stop already with the assumption that a younger man would be inexperienced. He was, and still is, one of the best lovers I ever had.

By the same token, some 40 year olds still haven’t figured it out.

  14. What's the age limit? says:

I have been married 8 years to a wonderful man and he is 9 years younger than me. I’ve never noticed an age difference. He’s a wonderful friend, supporter and lover. He takes care of me and my children. So how large is the age gap before someone considers you to be a “COUGAR”? I had never heard that term before until someone called me one upon hearing the age difference between me and my hubby. BTW, he CHASED me. I tried to make him go away.

  15. Natalie says:

I have been with the same man for eight years he is my soulmate. I have been married twice and my oldest is 20 and youngest is 11 he loves all three of my children as if they were his own. We are eighteen years apart and you would never know it he is crazy in so many ways like his corvette and motorcycle, and his Land Rovers most antiques. I never met someone so interesting and adventurous in my life, nobody could replace him. I’ve never been so happy he keeps life interesting and fun I would never want that to change.
