Here are some photos of Taylor Swift just before the AMAs two weekends ago. As you can see, she paired her plaid skirt with a little rock t-shirt from The 1975, a British indie/pop rock band fronted by English singer Matt Healy. I really only know The 1975 from their song “Chocolate,” but I think they’ve had some other popular songs too. And I’m not saying The 1975 are Brit-pop like, say, One Direction. The 1975 is more like… Bastille or The Neighbourhood. They’re young (in their mid-20s), they’ve got a good sound, and they’re part of a wave of younger bands doing their own thing. Matt Healy is a cutie, and wouldn’t you know, he’s got a crush on Taylor Swift. Judging from the fact that she’s wearing his band’s t-shirt, I think she’s got a little crush too!
Is it just us, or is love knocking on Taylor Swift ‘s door? From our eyes (and ears), it appears The 1975 band member Matt Healy is totally interested in the “Shake It Off” singer.
During a recent radio interview with Shazam Top 20, the British singer was asked about Swift who attended one of his concerts in Hollywood. As it turns out, Swift did a little more than simply attend the show.
“I met Taylor Swift, that was really nice,” he shared with host Angus O’Loughlin. “We exchanged numbers. Let’s see what happens.”
When the DJ predicted that they would soon become the next big item in Hollywood, Healy didn’t exactly know what to say. “You’re calling that, are you?” he asked. “Let’s just see what happens.”
He added, “I mean bloody hell, what am I going to do? Go out with Taylor Swift? She’s a sensation, I wouldn’t say no.”
Before the 2014 American Music Awards in Los Angeles, Swift did in fact attend one of the band’s shows with BFFs Selena Gomez and Ellie Goulding. She would later favorite a tweet from the performance that featured a picture of Healy showing off a few of his tattoos.
Healy is 25 and Swifty is 24. So… YAY. At least she’s not going for a guy still in high school, you know? And Healy and The 1975 have been a band for several years now, which means that he’s got some professional experience and life experience under his belt. Which is what Swifty needs – a guy who is capable of challenging her and calling her out when she’s full of it. Plus, Swifty only goes for guys with good hair and Healy has great hair (when he’s not shaving the sides). So, will this happen? God, I hope so. I think this would be a fantastic couple. Which is probably why it won’t happen, so let’s not get our hopes up.

No way. I’m surprised her people let her even talk to/about them given the subject matter of their songs. Drugs and guns? How would that make Swifty’s image look?
My thoughts exactly! I actually really like listening to their music (especially when working out), but their songs and their concerts are very drug-centric. Also, Matty apparently takes the phone number of every girl he meets, so…
He is definitely her type but as soon as he spoke about it he pretty much assured it would not happen.

I LOVE 1989, and I’ve never been a Swifty-fan before. I hope she continues to grow in her life and that it reflects in her music, but a druggie rock star is not a good look for her. Unless she can reform him! Yesssss welcome to your mid/late 20s Tay!

Kennedy kid, Arnold’s son, that kid from the band from England, one of the Jonas bros, the kid from the vampire movie. Yipes, she doesn’t have a type or an age….she likes em all. When you list her exes, you realize she has a boatload of them. Yet moms feel safe with her as their daughters role model. Hmm…really? Story right tho, all her boys/men have good hair.
What does having many boyfriends have to do with being a role model? She is 25 years old so the number is pretty tame. I am not the biggest fan of Swifty’s innocent America’s sweetheart schtick but what you say comes way too close to slut-shaming.

I don’t know much about this band but I completely fell in love with the song ‘Chocolate’ when I first heard it play on a little local Indie radio station here sometime last year 😊
The band’s sound is great and the video was fun too.
