It was the DuJour Magazine photoshoot that did it for me – all of a sudden, I could totally see Angelina Jolie and her young star, Jack O’Connell, engaging in a torrid affair. While their chemistry together isn’t rip-off-your-clothes level hotness, they do seem to get along very well. Jack adores her and she seems to really like him. So, obviously, their relationship is making Brad Pitt run out of the room in tears. Some highlights from the In Touch cover story this week:
Angelina Jolie has “fallen for another man,” Jack O’Connell, with whom she’s been doing press for their movie.
“Their attraction is palpable,” explains an insider. “She’s physically and emotionally drawn to Jack. Directing and bonding with him has felt dangerous, like he’s reawakened her wild, out-of-control side.”
Her relationship with O’Connell has “shaken” her marriage to Pitt, claims the tabloid. “He’s super jealous,” says the In Touch insider. The magazine describes Pitt as “blindsided” by the chemistry between Jolie and O’Connell during their Unbroken press tour.
“Angie and Jack were being so playful that everyone in the room felt uncomfortable,” explains the tab’s source. “Brad confronted Angie afterward, but Angie told him he was overreacting and pretty much blew it off. That really stung for Brad.”
Jolie had reportedly been trying to make her husband jealous with her fling, but it may have turned into something more. A source told In Touch Weekly that she started to develop feelings for O’Connell.
Though Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had seemed unflappable in the past, the source said the situation appears quite serious.
According to the same In Touch source, things are at a breaking point for Jolie and Pitt. “Brad is freaked out for the first time in their relationship,” says the tab’s insider. “He’s facing his fear that Angie could dump him.”
Gossip Cop goes on to explain why this story is dumb, but no rep (Angelina’s, Brad’s or Jack’s) has any hard denial. All Gossip Cop has is a “source close to the situation” saying that the story about Jack and Angelina is “ludicrous.” Yeah… I mean, I don’t think Angelina and Jack are actually having an affair. But is there some level of attraction there? Sure. I think Jack is a bad boy and he reminds Angelina of her bad-girl past. But if Angelina ever leaves Brad for another man… wow, I don’t have anything to finish that statement. At this point, after ten years, I can’t even theorize about what would happen if Brad and Angelina broke up/divorced. I actually do believe that Brad and Angelina are going through a small rough patch right now, but I think they’ll rebound in time for a push for the Oscars.

I saw no chemistry in the interviews I’ve seen with the two of them. From my perspective, I saw a young man who very much respects Jolie.
As sexy as Jack is, I just don’t see him as having the maturity of stability of someone like Pitt. Pitt and Jolie seem like equals in so many ways, whereas Jack is still just a kid.
Just my two cents.
I saw a lovely little clip where Jack offered his coat to Angelina on the (London?) Red Carpet, it was very sweet. They look gorgeous in pictures together, but I almost get more of a younger sibling vibe off them.
If it were me in her place, however . . . I’d have had my wicked way with him a dozen times over by now. I do miss his longer hair, though.
He seems to regard her as a like an older sister–I remember when he bowed to her, and called her “Your Ladyship.”……

Yes to all of you. I think he sees her as a mentor of sorts. She’s been in the industry for a long time-essentially grown up in it-and has her hands in many different facets of the movie-making business. I think he sees her as his boss, a very beautiful boss, but a boss who gave him a really amazing opportunity.
Well, we did have a nice break from the “they’re over! Angie falls for another man!” Theories for a little while so welcome back craziness:-) how many times have these two broken up over the last decade according to gossip?
Funny how nobody is pointing out that the actual work on the film ended a while ago, they are just promoting now. If anything were going on, it would have happened then, not now. I doubt Brad is jealous, I doubt Angie has the hots for Jack, all I see is camaraderie and a good relationship.
For the record, I have lots of good friends who are male, some of whom I dated before marrying my husband. Luckily he understands / is secure enough that a woman can be friends with a man without sex entering the equation.
I will never understand how people wish and even pray for this family to break up.

I don’t see any sexual chemistry between Angelina and Jack – only admiration, parently kind of love for each other.
For the record – the JPs never ever respond to any form of gossip. They simply don’t give it any ammunition and the gossip just gets forgotten.
I also don’t see any rough patch between Brad and Angelina – even the pictures in Australia didn’t even show any fights. This couple has weathered brutal attack from every angle for about 10 years and have made it through that. They will be fine.
I wouldn’t say people pray for them to break up, but there is something very unlikable about them as a couple.
What’s not to like, exactly? They have built a strong relationship based on love, trust and respect, and are raising six children together. Do you have a problem with that?

I like them because they always seem really into each other, and very supportive of each other’s looks and careers. Angelina talked about how she felt a lot more beautiful/sexy while she was pregnant because of Brad. When she was asked about that godawful goatee that he had (complete with braids and beads), she said that she loved him with or without it. They take turns working, and neither one seems to put their career ahead of each other, or their family. I think that’s admirable. They seem to have learned all of their past mistakes in previous relationships, and brought all of that knowledge to make their ‘new’ relationship better and improved.

I didn’t understand the hoopla over the balcony ‘fight’–if it was a fight. They’ve been together for ten years. What couple DOESN’T fight over anything–unless one couple is a total pushover. Especially with six kids.
Unless a couple is constantly fighting in public, then I don’t see why one fight is a sign of a break up.
And anyone remember those rumors about Brad getting it on with a ‘mystery brunette’ at TIFF last year–except the tabloid printed it weeks after the festival was over, and was claiming that they were making out in a public cafe. At least this story isn’t as ridic as that one.

I don’t get the hoopla over the balcony thing either. Later on I saw the last pictures where you could see them hugging eachother, which made the whole thing look like a scene I know all to well from my own experience: someone else has been a jerk and you’re venting to your spouse/partner.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Angie is a little bored with Brad right now. But in most long term relationships that is expected, and when you aware of the boredom you focus on the life you have built together and your family. I do think that both Angie and Brad have really pushed themselves with work the past five years or so. Some time off together may be just what they need.
Finding someone else attractive whilst you are committed to another person is pretty normal IMHO, it doesn’t mean you will act on that attraction.

Don’t believe it for a minute. Angie’s love right now is not men, it is herself and her climb to the top. She wants badly to be a huge power player and this week must have been quite hard for her. I do feel badly for her. The emails were clear proof that even if you are one of the most famous women in the world the Hollywood brass still has all the control. She is trying to break that and I just don’t she can. Poor Angie.
With that said. I always thought that marriage for her was a bad idea. I think she feels trapped in a marriage and really didn’t want one but did it because of the children. I also think that they should have stuck to their original 3 days apart rule. Being apart this much is not good for any marriage. They knew this and that is why they put the rule in their relationship. However, their need to get an Oscar (Unbroken & Fury) made it so they have spent months apart. I think they have spent more time apart this year then together. That is really hard on a relationship. They need to take next year off and really spend time together. Just chill a bit.

Erm, what? They have stuck to the three day rule–the only reason they didn’t with the filming of Fury and Unbroken was because they pushed the filming of Unbroken up because of Louis failing health. She only had a rough cut to show him just before he died. This was sorta discussed a lot. Especially around the times when we were wondering if they spent Thanksgiving together–being that each one of them had half of the kids, on opposite sides of the world (England and Australia).
But to the end of your comment about ‘chilling’–I do think they are, because I looked at their IMDb’s a while back, and Brad has a few producing projects (I think he produced Selma), and they have By The Sea coming out sometime next year. So they’ll probably stay put for a year or so, unless one of them signs on to do something. I think maybe Angelina’s waiting to see how her directing is being taken–especially with By The Sea.
I do think that it was Brad who REALLY wanted to get married (I think he would’ve married her a few years after they got together), but she wanted to hold off/didn’t think she needed it because she’d been married twice before.
For sure – they are rarely apart. Sorry I obviously am imagining her traveling all over to promote her movie without Brad, Thanksgiving apart, etc. Me things that she is putting her work ahead of her relationship just the way Jen did.
