George Clooney & Dior-clad Amal at the Globes: did you love or hate the gloves?

FFN_KM_GoldenGlobes_Arr_011115_51623066

Amal Clooney came out to the Golden Globes last night with her husband George Clooney. I kind of think this was one of the big reasons why George married Amal: because George’s love life had become a joke, perfectly illustrated last year when Amy Poehler and Tina Fey got one of their biggest laughs when they made a crack about George preferring to float off into space rather than spend time with a woman his own age. This was George saying “See? I can settle down. I can marry someone who is ‘my equal’.”

As for the fashion… Amal wore Dior, with a customized Dior clutch and a pin that read “Je Suis Charlie.” She told Ryan Seacrest that the gloves were her own. I think the gloves were a mistake. Right? The Dior gown is inoffensive – rather plain, actually – but the gloves took a simple look to next-level try-hard. She took them off inside as well. Plus, Amal became famous last year for having great hair, and I swear, her hair was struggling last night! Maybe she was aiming for “just got out of bed” but it just looked like she needed a brush. Maybe it was the humidity. As for Clooney… he wore the same tuxedo that he wore on his wedding day.

Oh, and I don’t think Amal is pregnant. I was hoping she would debut a bump on the red carpet, but if anything, she looks even thinner nowadays.

Would you like to talk about the loved-up crap Clooney said to Amal during his Cecil B. DeMille acceptance speech? It made me feel like a bitter curmudgeon, because I didn’t believe any of the crap he said to Amal. Remember to drink Casamigos Tequila, people!

Gloves made otherwise boring dress much better. She looks lovely.

    • Snazzy says:

      yes, I like them too!

    • Someonestolemyname says:

Gloves look like they came from one of those tween shops Clairins or Daisy’s whatever the name is.

The dress is gorgeous , stunning ,but it look big for her.

Only more bearded person at the show was Conchitta Wurst, I think this entire thing from engagement to now is all about George’s PR and being a laughing stock last year for his personal life. People who saw them are tweeting they looked distant on the redcarpet, no real connection.

She is bird-like she is getting way too skinny, the woman looks unhealthy. IMO but don’t say it, because she’s Clooney’s wife and Amal! It’s like Emporer’s New Clothes,
I’ll take my lashings, but JMO

    • LadyMTL says:

I’m still on the fence about the gloves. On one hand I can understand why she wore them (changes up an otherwise stark all-black outfit, matches the purse, it is her first red carpet awards show so why not go big?) but at the same time it just seems…off. Like she should be going to an opera or something. When I visualize the look without the gloves, I generally like it more.

      • Jess says:

I feel the same way. At first I appreciated them but then I thought it was too much of an effort to try to play dress up. I also get the feeling that she tries to do a lot of old-time glamour (a la Jackie O) for these big moments and that’s why she did the gloves, but it makes her look like she’s trying too hard to channel Jackie (instead of being a modern-day version of Jackie O). Her hair was nice but not as amazing as usual. And she does look skinnier than ever. And speaking of skinny, can we talk about the awkward interaction between the Clooneys and Giuliana? Painful!

      • caitlin says:

Jess – if you’re still reading, can you please give me a briefing on the George/Giuliana interaction? What happened?

    • RhoSue says:

Love the gloves, but not with that dress.

      • J-G says:

Agree. I like the gloves but I thought they went with a different dress.

      • LadyJane says:

loved the gloves but they should have been opera length, above the elbow and midway between the elbow and armpit. She has the elegantly thin arms to pull it off. These look like the length you would wear to wash the dishes.

    • snowflake says:

      I hate the gloves

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

So do I. Every now and then, they try to make a comeback. They just look stupid to me.

      • lucy2 says:

Me too. I like her dress quite a bit, I think it’s fine to be understated. The gloves were just so distracting though.

      • Decloo says:

I agree. They are about ten sizes too big for her. Look at her hands–it’s like she’s a little girl wearing her mother’s gloves. I also hate their slouchiness. Pull those suckers up and make them look sleek!

      • Katy says:

They remind me of a barbie doll I had in the 1960’s – 🙂

    • crazydaisy says:

I like the idea of gloves but I think black would have been WAY better. Black would have been elegant, classy and put-together. Even red would have been fun. For me, the white gloves are too bright & clean. White gloves are for mimes!!

    • Stef Leppard says:

I like the gloves! They’re different and fun and she is elegant enough to pull them off.
I still think there’s something fishy about this marriage. They don’t seem to have any chemistry.

    • kacy says:

I think the gloves are too big, which makes them look clunky. More fitted would have been lovely.

    • Shaz says:

She looks stunning. She is not George’s equal, she’s superior.

    • Sara says:

      The gloves look ridiculous…

  2. Tanguerita says:

She looks like she decided to give her toilet a decent scrub right before going out and forgot to take off her rubber gloves. And I’m with you on the loved-up crap. If anything they both looked unbelievably uncomfortable together on the red carpet and during the interviews.

    • We Are All Made of Stars says:

+1 to everything. It looks like she was handling radioactive waste in her wrinkly white gloves. It would have at least been better if she had a black purse.

      • Melanie says:

+2 to everything. The minute I saw those gloves, I said ugh. Way to costumey and they made the dress look cheap.

    • Louise177 says:

The dress was nice but the gloves were too much. I think because they were white it overpowered the dress. It didn’t help that the gloves were bunching up.

    • sally says:

The gloves were such a god d*** distraction. Hated them. I want to see her all dolled up in a beautiful couture gown. I beleive she would look absolutely stunning. She could easily upstage half these girls.

    • kcarp says:

Maybe after spending a couple of months with these Hollywood types she has decided they are all pretty nasty and she would rather not catch their germs?

    • ralyra says:

I think if the gloves had fit more snugly it would have worked better. Loose as they were, they did look like cleaning gloves.

    • c'est la vie says:

      Well, that clip was painful…

Ugh. And the gloves – double ugh.

  3. 30winks says:

Hated the gloves. Much too try-hard.

    • Someonestolemyname says:

I hated the gloves too, too big , too costumey almost first prom look.
People are tweeting the couple looked distant and stiff with each other on the redcarpet when walking.
The Dior dress was gorgeous, it’s Dior! Wonderful choice, but somehow everything she is wearing looks too big on her.

This was George’s goal though…IMO Return after being the JOKE heard round the world of last years show for his dating/personal life and return to worldwide audiences with a PR Credible Wife and be lauded with a big award and a Serious man who doesn’t date around Vegas cocktail lounges. Just saying….Mission complete.

P.S. Twitter with beard jokes, when George and Amal appeared. Lol

  4. Nilo says:

I was suprised by the idea, but I would have peferred them in the same colour as the dress, much more elegant, imo. And hair up.

    • Sarah says:

Agreed. I would have liked them to be black gloves. But hey – I give her credit for doing something different. I thought she looked beautiful. And call me a fool, but I loved what George said during his speech.

    • Thaisajs says:

Agree. Wish she had put her hair up. She looked lovely, if a little bored, during the ceremony.

  5. Farah says:

She’s so pretty, I want to cry. I loved Tina and Amy’s joke about her being too good for him.

    • Delta Juliet says:

That joke was the best of the night. “And tonight, her husband is winning a Lifetime Achievement award”. I died.

      • Vookie says:

Didn’t she say that she sewed those gloves herself? Whatever, she looks kind of pretty.
        George Clooney:
The only people significant to George Clooney are those with money and power those with anything less are unimportant. He doesn’t have a compassionate bone in his body, not really worthy of the humanitarian awards he loves to collect either. A deluded mean-spirited man.
#Integrity is actualized only when word and deed have not parted company.

    • Sabrine says:

She seems like a lovely person on the inside as well as the outside. The dress is lovely and perfect for the occasion it being George’s night, but the gloves seem too baggy. I do think she’s a little underweight. Her arms could use some filling out.

    • Sabrine says:

She seems like a lovely person on the inside as well as the outside. The dress is lovely but the gloves seem too baggy. I do think she’s too thin. Her arms could use a little meat on them.

    • Charlotte says:

She is very attractive, but they already are starting to look alike, I think.

      • Hazel says:

Same thought I had, how some couples start to look alike, or that people choose mates similar in features to their own.

  6. Biki says:

Totally plain dress, makeup. Same hair, same pose. Regarding the gloves, so bad choice. He dyed his har definitelly.

  7. Gayle says:

The gloves should have been black, or above the elbow in white and slim fitting not bunchy.

As it is, once again Amal looked teenage prom queenish by adding those gloves.

  8. OTHER RENEE says:

Love the dress. Hate the ill-fitting gloves. And you’re right about the hair. Looks flat.

  9. Maya says:

Not to say Amal is pregnant but some women do lose weight in the early stages of pregnancy because of morning sickness.

I like everytime except the gloves and even liked Amal’s bitch face when Tina and Amy introduced George’s award.

  10. Emma - the JP Lover says:

And let again, no one commenting on her thin arms.

    • Kate says:

Her arms are scary thin. Happy?

No one talks much about how thin she is because everyone just acknowledges she’s super skinny, just like no one feels the need to point out Melissa McCarthy is overweight because no ones arguing she isn’t.

If loonies stopped trying to convince people Jolie is a healthy weight and we all just agreed she’s very very thin, it wouldn’t come up nearly as much.

      • Marie-France says:

Fully agree with with Kate on Amal and Angelina. Melissa McCarthy just kind of points it out herself in her movies though, always making fun of her body in how she moves.

      • V4Real says:

Amal to me is a bit thinner now than she was when we first took notice of her. Angie is also thinner than she used to be. Loonies can post all the links to old pics they want to. It still won’t change my opinion. I’ve seen AJ in person and like I said she’s still a beautiful woman but her body looks frail.

On a different note I like Amal’s dress minus the gloves. She’s not the focus of attention, it’s George who’s getting the award. She doesn’t need to wear an extravagant dress.

      • snowflake says:

she’s lost weight she didn’t need to lose. all george’s girls seem to get a lot thinner after they start dating him. I don’t know if it’s him or being in the public eye, but they all get thinner. not healthy

      • wolfpup says:

I’ve noticed the same decline in weight among women who are thrown in the spotlight? I don’t understand it – don’t they see pictures of themselves looking malnourished? It isnt a good look – so what causes it? It just can’t be merely stress – it seems like a body image issue that is not convincing, beauty-wise. A beautiful woman is one who glows with good health and an inner confidence that is relatable.

      • Me Three says:

All of Clooney’s “girls” end up losing way too much weight and getting too thin. If you look at photos of her when they supposedly first met–even after they were official and visited New York–she was at a much healthier weight. I personally think Clooney has an eating disorder and passes it on to whomever he’s with. He doesn’t look quite as puffy so maybe she’s convinced him not to drink so much. Although, like others have mentioned, I was kind of disappointed to see the same old with Clooney and Amal–no chemistry!

    • AG-UK says:

Her body is skinny, from the side when she was standing there when they were first being interviewed, her hipbones were sticking out, maybe it’s her posture but don’t know. I did like the dress not sure about gloves granted it was chillier and wet in LA but..

    • Someonestolemyname says:

I think her body looks awful
hit me if you want, but she looks about to break she’s so incredibly skinny.

  11. MP says:

Hated them! They don’t seem to fit and just remind me of those gloves the people who inseminate cows wear.

  12. vauvert says:

I had hoped for a more interesting dress… It was ok, but forgettable. The gloves were meh; I can see why she wore them, but I’d have picked an interesting bracelet instead. And I think her hair was just struggling with the humidity. Mine has similar texture and humidity makes it limp, then frizzy as it dries, just horrible. I just wish she would choose softer makeup, the red lip is too harsh on her – I have similar colouring too and I have finally accepted that no matter what beauty experts try to say, I cannot do a bold red lip, it’s too much.

  13. BadAssCompass says:

I’ve seen only a brief video of them with E! hosts and Amal’s face was all like: I’m above you peasants, even on the screenshot of Tina and Amy’s joke, George burst into laugh and Amal was yet again forcing a smile. Ugh. Gloves are horrible, she looks like a mime artist.

    • Gayle says:

She’ll break his heart. I think he genuinely loves her in his own drunkenly childish way but I think she’ll tire of him. Perhaps he deserves the heartache.

      • Someonestolemyname says:

This was all about him returning NOT as a joke to worldwide audiences imp She’s nothing more than a PR Wife for George and as bearded as Conchitta Wurst!

      • epiphany says:

Respectfully disagree. They seem completely awkward with each other. Whatever affection they have for each other seems secondary to his determination to not remain a middle-aged running joke. If the Sony hack told us anything, it revealed that Clooney is much more sensitive and affected by the opinions of others than we would have ever believed.

      • kcarp says:

I am not buying into the love stuff. It looks like she is ready for her contract to be over. I think she thought fame was going to be cool but now it seems like she wants nothing more than to return to England. She probably thinks he is an idiot and his buddies and this scene are absurd.

      • Esmom says:

He sure was convincing in his speech when he gushed about her. But to me it barely seemed like she could muster up an acknowledgement when he did.

      • siri says:

It will be HER leaving, I agree. Yet I also believe it’s part of her plan. She is not in love with him. And George is smitten- but love, no. He has some sort of an inferiority complex, particularly when it comes to education, so for him, she’s like his personal Einstein (didn’t he name his dog, where nobody ever heard from again since he’s with her, after him?). He doesn’t seem to be able to put her ‘achievements’ into perspective, like anyone else would who knows a bit more, but rather exaggerates them for his own image. It will backfire, when she cannot produce results in her work- IF she works. The coy look she gives when on red carpets/photographed for PR does not match her way of talking. To me, she’s acting like a little princess, and at times comes over quite entitled. She plays like he does, only one of them will be the fool later. And I, too, think, it’s gonna be George.

    • Belle Epoch says:

Thanks for bringing that up, BADASS. The gloves were almost a way of saying “I won’t touch any of these people,” and she looked bored and bitchy. Barely even feigning interest. What did she expect when she married him? Lots of gifs online today of her facial expressions.

I am not buying what George is selling – and I don’t mean tequila.

    • Alice says:

I agree with epiphany about George being more sensitive and affected by the opinions of others. Did anyone else notice he mentioned the Tina and Amy joke in his speech?

      • someonestolemyname says:

I agree epiphany, That SONY Email told us George is VERY VERY CONCERNED about his Image.
People were tweeting who were watching the redcarpet that they looked distant.

    • SpookySpooks says:

I think she looked awkward and uncomfortable. I really like her after watching the Globes.

  14. cottoncandy says:

Every time I see a pic of them together I literally LOL .

They are THE joke – right?

Yes I know, I’m an evil horrible person. Or maybe it’s just Monday 🙁

  15. greenmonster says:

The gloves look stupid in my opinion. At first a saw a picture where you could see only one arm and for a second I thought “She broke her arm” – then it turned out, she is just wearing ugly gloves.

  16. Keri says:

Hated the gloves and those arms are really too thin so is the rest of her. Dress is unflattering too.

  17. The dress is okay, but if I was her, I would’ve worn some BLING! that had color….emeralds, rubies, amethysts, etc..ANYTHING. Pearls if I wanted to keep on with the black and white look. I think the gloves were an attempt to bring the dress to the next level, and they were just ugly–and the only interesting thing she had on. She needs to wear them like Olivia Pope, lol.

  18. captain says:

I actually love the dress. She looks totally comfortable in it, elegant and gorgeous. I like the gloves too. They add a bit of something that makes the whole outfit HERS. And make-up, and hair. Even her husband looks better than at the wedding, healthier. And she is so photogenic, I can’t believe it. Magnetic eyes. I am not an expert, but they seem to me absolutely happy together and in love.

    • Jayna says:

I loved the gown, also. Not too overdone for her first outing on the red carpet, but stunning. Black gowns don’t usually translate in photos or video, but this one really did. The white gloves were a nice touch, but they were so baggy. I didn’t get that. Does George ever have a bad hair day? LOL His hair when accepting the award was gorgeous. Men his age must be so jealous, the ones all losing theirs.

The humidity must have been awful there. A lot of people had a sweaty look or hair a little frizzy, and Frances McDormand kept fanning herself inside.

    • Jayna says:

I agree. They do look in love and happy.

There is so much ugliness on here about this couple. Wow. Just maybe she was nervous on the red carpet Just maybe he is in love with her and she with him, and it was a moving speech when he mentioned her. His whole speech was charming, though. And her reaction was sweet, not overdone, but clearly moved when he mentioned her..

Oh, what am I thinking? Saying that on here is like me pounding my head against a brick wall, and suddenly I have a massive headache..

      • Lucy says:

        You’re not alone, Jayna!

      • noway says:

Don’t get a headache, I am one who sees your point and you could be right it could be a charming love speech and true love. Just to me, I am leaning the other way. They just seemed a bit off with their body language, the interview on the red carpet and his speech, they don’t feel like a just married couple to me. Sorry I just didn’t see the true love, and I am with Kaiser, George speech seemed a bit too much this is what I have to say about Amal not heartfelt or sincere to me.

I do feel a bit bad for her about the fashion though. I think she was built up so high that it would be hard to win. To me she was alright, especially without the ill fitting gloves, but nothing I would run out and try to replicate, unlike some of her fashion choices we have seen her in before.

      • aqua says:

@ Heather I think she is lovely too! and very sweet. I think this is all still so new to her and given some time she’ll be a little less awkward on the red carpet.

      • jane16 says:

Well said, Jayna and Captain. She looked gorgeous, one of the best dressed, and best looking there, She looked gracious and happy. George is lucky to have found her. She is absolutely lovely.

    • nan says:

      yep, +1

  19. lisa2 says:

I didn’t like the look at all. She is pretty. Her hair didn’t look as styled as it usually does. I don’t like the gloves at all.

I feel like the dress is actually too big for her. She is very very tiny in the waist and the dress looked like it needed a tuck there and at the shoulder. It kind of feels like it is hanging on her. Especially the shoulder area.

I think her and George’s first RC was not the hit some were expecting. She didn’t have much of a personality and there was no real affection between them. She slouches so much for some reason. Anyway I guess this is their last appearance unless George decides to be a presenter.

  20. BNA FAN says:

I was left disappointed in Mrs Clooney’s choice of dress, hair, and gloves. I was really looking forward to seeing a drop dead entrance from AC. I missed Brad and Angelina last night, they would have brightened up the awards, jmo. Btw, AC arms were really thin, makes Angelina look fat.

  21. Carrie says:

The gloves were too much imo and came off try-hard.

    • GiGi says:

This! Those gloves are the worst. Perhaps with a different gown at a much more formal event, like the Oscars, she could’ve pulled it off. But with that hair & that dress at the Globes? Over the top.

    • Tippy says:

She’d fit in perfectly on an episode of Mob Wives.

  22. Grace says:

I liked the dress but HATED the gloves. It made what appeared to be a beautiful modern gown into a disney princess outfit. Yuck. Hair is nice

  23. jess says:

Weird thing was, she looked like some actress, crying for an attention.
She’s like almost perfect woman, why is she acting like some anonymous famewhore?

  24. boredblond says:

Got an elegant black dress? Wear elegant black gloves (silver grey also classy)..or a pop of color with matching clutch..and I’m sorry, don’t think this woman is remotely gorgeous..Maybe stop the baby Jane heavy makeup. Body language bizarre, like uncomfortable blind date..or posing with your uncle. He’s there working the room, she’s mugging..just odd.

  25. Zainab says:

Clooney’s speech ~ is it necessary to pronounce his love in such narrative way? I don’t know if I can explain it. It just seemed like instead of the usual “thanks to my beautiful wife” “i love you darling for your support”, he has to give context – “it’s been quite a year for me” – yes we know, you shoved your relationship down our throats. Then says, finding someone to love, waiting all my life, blah, blah.

Framed this way gave it a story feel and thus a staged feel. He also looked nervous while saying it, not emotional. At least that was my immediate impression.

    • Someonestolemyname says:

Total PR wife from start of engagement to now. Imo.

    • Tippy says:

He’s nauseating and obviously trying to milk as much PR from this relationship as he possibly can.

    • Robino! says:

I got that “staged” feel too. Evident George is a good actor, but Amal’s reaction to his words was so fake. I have seen that reaction to lovesick words in many a high school production of something or another. A reaction by a person acting how she thinks she’s supposed to react.

    • Chris says:

It’s the “waiting all my life” that really grates for me. Dude, you were married before. Ok–sure, your new love is The Greatest Love Ever to Grace Planet Earth, but try and have some respect to for the previous women in your life–if not the cocktail waitresses, at least the woman you actually married.

      • Forthelasttine says:

This^^ What a rude jerk! As if he was single all his life and didn’t have a new woman on his arms each year. What a stupid asshole! I also think Amal cares more about glitz and glamour than humanitarian work. I wish everyone would stop talking her up! She’s just a lawyer for god’s sake! IMO they deserve each other.

  26. GiGi says:

I thought her whole look was a big miss. And she’s really such a striking woman, it shouldn’t be that hard! She had her hands in her hair too much and the gloves were very *ahem* fancy. Black gowns, in general, just don’t read well on TV, so between her hair, dress and shoulder train (?) it was just too much.

  27. Lucy says:

She would have been perfectly fine without the gloves. At least she took them off inside. I’ve also noticed that, so far, she has worn black in both of the red carpets she’s walked through so far. Not that it means anything in particular. I might be one of the few people here who doesn’t get all the snark towards her.

  28. lenje says:

    Hate the gloves.

But I think her hair is still great.

  29. MP says:

I really don’t like the way he always grabs her arm. Hold hands or if you want to direct her or move her along just place your hand behind her back. Don’t grab her like a police taking a suspect to a holding cell.

    • Francesca says:

Me too!! He comes off as paternalistic and controlling. She comes off as a resentful adolescent. I have noticed this so many times with these two. Surprised it isnt commented on more often.

      • Scarlet says:

He does that because I actually think he may be a tiny bit insecure around her. She’s clearly not impressed with his Hollywood side. I think she barely tolerates those people. It’s just not her gig. She’s not one bit starstruck, there is no one in that room that she could have a conversation with and be on equal ground. No one. She’s far far different. That being said, I think he’s truly in love with her, and I think she loves him, but doesn’t worship him. He’s going to have to work at holding on to her. Plus, I think he’s going to ease into politics and run for office.

      • boredblond says:

I think it’s expected..he treated all exes the same, see no difference, except he was more into touching them or hand holding than now. Some exes have said the relationship was more a paternal/teacher thing than romantic. Same old. Too smart for the room? You do know that if you go to college just 3 years after high school in England, you have a law degree. Pretty sure most here could top that, if that’s the criteria.

  30. Miss Gloss says:

Hate the gloves. She’s always slightly off her fashion game. Doesn’t quite pull it off.

  31. Kiddo says:

He knew he was getting this award, could prepare, and yet that speech WAS BAD.

    • Esmom says:

Yes it had some good sentiments but overall was very disjointed. The “Je suis Charlie” part was very predictable. And the people I was watching with all thought he looked haggard and in pain under his makeup. I definitely saw discomfort of some sort.

On a positive note, I had been thinking he was a bit young for a lifetime achievement award but ended up sort of blown away by the montage, his body of work is pretty darn impressive.

  32. Erm says:

I like the gloves in theory, but not execution. Wish they had been more fitted so they didn’t bunch and droop like that. The dress was underwhelming at first as the black swallows up the details, but it is very elegant and beautiful.
I think she has a face the is potentially very regal and stunning, but she seems to get really twitchy in front of the cameras. I guess she hasn’t worked on posing yet. I did like how she melted each time her husband said something nice about her, that was really cute and kinda unexpected.

    • Angie says:

ITA–she might just be intimidated because this is a much bigger stage than she’s used to, but because she’s so educated and has such a big career she comes off as aloof instead of frightened and insecure.

  33. noway says:

First the gloves don’t fit properly, and the white just accentuates how thin her arms are against the black dress. This really isn’t a good look for her. Also, I am not in love with her hair here. People thought she would kill it fashion wise, and I would say she was okay a bit dull, and with the gloves and hair a bit off.

Seeing them together I really don’t know what is up with their relationship. E has a group of all the couples on the RC and the body language of them compared to everyone else is just odd. The interview with them seemed a bit strange for people so lavishly married a few months ago. I am with Kaiser I just wasn’t buying his heartfelt speech either. It just didn’t seem sincere. Now they could be really in love and just a bit awkward together or this could be all for show. I am leaning toward the all for show. Still just very odd is the best I got.

  34. smee says:

Everyone is reading the gloves as “prom”, but I see them as a classic accessory – evening gown, evening gloves. A wrap or stole might have helped to complete the look. Even tho the dress is boring black, it’s gorgeous – I love the elegant lines. She looks very polished and sophisticated, imo.

    • Curious Cole says:

I love olde elegance, and my first thought also went to classic, but the gloves should have been fitted. I think the horrible scrunch is what makes everyone else remember prom.

  35. lowercaselois says:

It looks like she got dressed for the Globes and was called in to do emergency surgery with those white gloves. I think at times she looked uncomfortable, as if she was out of her element.

  36. Samtha says:

It would have been a good look if her arms weren’t swimming in those gloves–and if they didn’t blend into the purse.

  37. Kiddo says:

In the words of the late Johnnie Cochran, “If the gloves don’t fit, you must omit”. I like the idea of white gloves, in theory, but I don’t think it worked with the dress and they seemed to swim on her. Too much mime, not enough Jackie O.

    • PunkyMomma says:

Hated the gloves. Much too large and very “Minnie Mouse”. All Amal was missing was a big bow at the top of her head.

    • cheryl says:

Agree. If you don’t get that gloves are supposed to fit very tightly, you are missing the point of gloves. They are not baggy legwarmers for arms.

  38. Jade says:

The gloves were so unnecesary and she did not even don fitting ones. Are gloves coming back? The only way she would pull off good fitting gloves would be if she has a sash and tiara on her. She does have a regal face. I was quite surprised that they were not that magnetic onscreen when Seacrest was interviewing them, in fact she seemed quite unsure and not so confident. Even her smiles seemed nervous. I would have thought for all her accomplishments in comparison to me, she would know how to work a room. Ah well, keep practising Amal.

The speech by George was too much though.

    • Kiddo says:

The speech by George was too much though. and yet strangely also not enough (in substance).

      • Jade says:

Exactly Kiddo. If I have one word to describe it, it’s unreal. I can’t figure George out, it’s as if the alleged back injury and his age is taking his confidence away bit by bit. I’m not even a fan but I feel a bit sorry for him (a bit because he is rich and famous after all haha) and I do hope he has found somebody he really loves instead of trying not to be made fun of simply for being single.

    • Guesto says:

Re the acceptance speech, it rang empty and lacked warmth. The words were there but there was no real heart or sincerity. He can’t seem to do ‘sincere’: oh he tries, and I bet he spends hours pouring over his speeches but, like his directing, his judgement and his editing is very poor. But more than anything else, and despite his attempts to be humble, and to include his peers in the audience, it came across as a bit self-satisfied and charmless.

      • Emmet says:

The speech was awful. GC was nervous and scattered. Why didn’t Grant write him something better? No mention of Darfur, mentioning instead dead celebrities he never worked with.
And the ultimate, did not even thank his parents, let alone mention them. Surprising when every public utterance or public complaint – ie the leaked e-mail even always states that he is the son of a newsman.

  39. siri says:

They looked uncomfortable together. Lots of forced smiles, and fake laughter. I was surprised to NOT see her looking stunning, hair and all. The dress is boring, the gloves are simply wrong (perhaps longer, tighter, and not white would have worked), and her biggest asset, the hair, looked remarkably flat. Clooney’s speech…well, it’s too late to get me over to the ‘other side’- I do not believe him. And that he places that tequila in front of him all the time doesn’t make it better. Here’s some more advertising his stuff from G.Rancic:
    http://uk.eonline.com/videos/230344/watch-giuliana-rancic-take-a-shot-with-george-clooney
And Cindy and Rande make sure they pay back for their invitation:
    http://uk.eonline.com/videos/227622/has-marriage-changed-george-clooney-for-good

    • Belle Epoch says:

Wow – Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber have no chemistry either! What a shock.

      • siri says:

Rande looks a bit ‘tequilarized’, so does Cindy…and the way she answers the first question FOR him with “Happy??” is odd. She does that a second time, adding to Rande’s “Amal is beautifulblablah”: “And SMART!” Perhaps I’m reading too much into this, but I think THAT’S what George told them- the emphasis is on ‘smart’. However, from Cindy’s side, it sounds ironic. To me, it’s basically proof that this is a deal.

  40. Citygirl says:

I actually loved the gloves; the ‘scrunch’, loose fit gave a modern twist to an old Hollywood glam staple. I’m interested on the material (praying they were a soft suede but I would be fine with fabric). I didn’t get the hair with the look.

  41. scout says:

Had a busy weekend, just logged on to these pics. She looks way worse than she looks in Cabo pics, probably living on Wine and Jaw breakers until now. Not a good outfit, black gloves would have been better. She could have picked better like the one she wore for White House screening in black. Extensions looks good though, she had shoulder length hair in Cabo. Her head looks huge compared to her thin everything else. Make up is good., thank God Tala wasn’t around to do her glitter make up this time. Looks nervous, not very confident on red carpet, is she? Back to work then now that this is over? Hope so.
GC looks so uncomfortable up there too. I haven’t read or seen GG’s speech yet, so can’t comment about what he said but I am sure he did some filmy, sappy and political monologue!

  42. PHD Gossip says:

I think she got cheek implants. Tweaked the nose a bit.

  43. DogMom says:

41 comments and not one ‘Pretty Woman’ crack. Ladies, y’all are disappointing me.

    • Ana says:

Thank you! I thought maybe I was the only one imagining it! Once I saw her the song played “Pretty woman, walking down the street…”

  44. Oh. says:

Armal isnt going to get pregnant now, she’s got so much going on with her career that I highly doubt she wants to stop for a sprog.

    • Scarlet says:

Agreed she’s too smart for that old trick. She doesn’t need to nail him down. She’s going to assess the marriage and see where it’s heading before she has a child with him.

  45. Ginger says:

I like the full length shots of the two of them on the carpet because Amal is so statuesque. I adore the gown but not the gloves. I like the idea of the gloves in theory but it looks awkward in reality. Maybe she was having issues with her hands? Or she was trying for an old Hollywood glamour throwback look? I see what you mean about her hair but I’m betting it was the humidity.

  46. The Original G says:

I think the gloves don’t work in Cali. But, they are a bit of individual quirk.

  47. HK9 says:

I think Amal looks lovely but, the gloves should have been opera length(tighter & higher) with a huge diamond bracelet. The “scrunch” look is messy not modern.

  48. khaveman says:

Please wear gloves that fit your hands and lower arms perhaps? Like the concept.

  49. Darlene says:

I thought he was sincere when he spoke of her in his speech. He seems genuinely in love.

  50. Ethelreda says:

VERY awkward body language for a newly wed couple. Looking in opposite directions in most pics, and no sign of affection between them. Look at the strange way he’s grabbing her arm in the last pic. If it was a one off, I’d think nothing of it, but I’ve seen the same weird gesture from him several times.

  51. maeliz says:

Gloves were too big and bright. She needs a lesson on how to dress from some of Georges Hollywood friends. Some might not be as educated, but they could help her out at all these Hollywood shindigs

  52. Christina says:

This look (gloves included) was PERFECTION! Bringing Glamour Back – cannot wait to see what she wears next!

  53. Vava says:

They seemed awkward at this event.

She was constantly handling her hair and that train and so I think she should have had an updo and also ditched the train. As for the gloves, I think either black ones that fit perfectly OR some sheer ones like Carolyn Bessett wore at her wedding would have been better.

  54. Dari says:

I thought Morticia Adams was making an appearance. Felt she was competing with Angelina when she won her supporting Oscar. Outdated style, just not right. I guess knowing he likes to hold hands at these events, she had to wear gloves for fear of touching him. Just awful.

  55. Amelie says:

I thought Amal’s entire outfit didn’t work. The dress is a more mature look for someone 50+ and I see it worn in a different setting (formal ball). The white gloves were too large and seemed to compete with the dress rather than blending. Her(theatrical) make-up was so heavy, I wondered if she is going for the Joan Crawford look. IMO, Amal has very strong features, made more prominent by her weight loss. I would try to soften her look. Her hair didn’t work with the dress, the dress called for a chignon…

I saw the pre show interview with George and Amal; they were interviewed by Matt Lauer and Savanah Guthrie. George jumped in and answered a question that was clearly directed to Amal. Amal kept turning her head around (about 45 degrees) during the interview to look directly into the cameras and smile. I mean, really is she getting commission on the photos or what?

    • Christin says:

I see the Joan Crawford resemblance, too. Except heavily made up Amal is looking like Joan did in her late 40s.

I saw a couple of brief clips of the audience this morning, and sure enough, Amal was touching her hair. If she was having frizz issues due to humidity, the last thing one should do is handle the hair.

    • sapphire says:

I noticed the make-up-girlfriend needs to back-off the eyebrows. It looks like she’s using magic marker.

      • Amelie says:

“I noticed the make-up-girlfriend needs to back-off the eyebrows. It looks like she’s using magic marker”

Kind of a Grouchy Marx look!

  56. Shelly says:

    AWKWARD. They are so AWKWARD.

  57. Christin says:

I think they were attempting to portray classic Hollywood, as in Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn.

Coincidentally, Cary and Audrey co-starred in a movie titled CHARADE.

  58. MinnFinn says:

Would love to be a fly on the wall at Dior today as they discuss what AC did to “their design”. My first thought about les gloves was – why? Then – what is she hiding under those? They just don’t work.

Her dress dare I say was too understated which wasn’t helped by the fit – she was swimming in it. Was it 2013 GG’s where several wore bright colors? Wrong year this year, but with her hair and olive skin, she could dazzle in a saturated unusual hue.

She does look even thinner. Makes me wonder if her body fat is low enough yet to interfere with regular ovulation?

  59. CL says:

Was I the only one who noticed George’s forehead was darker than the rest of his face? Once I noticed that, it was all I could see.

  60. Jan Harf says:

Yeah, she’s pretty and incredibly accomplished but she she came off as unbelievably smug. Damn, lady. At least attempt to GAS.

  61. siri says:

Clooney ones mentioned that his first crush was Audrey Hepburn…and this looks a lot like trying to bring in that vibe. I was actually surprised to see Amal NOT looking stunning. The gloves in any other color but white, and tighter/longer might have worked, but that dress is boring, and ill-fitting. She’s not just thin, but unattractively so. Her biggest asset, her hair, looked surprisingly flat. The way he grabs her arm looks painful, and she also has this weird way of turning her arm and palms outward. Watching some of the interviews, I truly couldn’t detect any chemistry. Lots of fake smiles, and posing. And his speech, well, it’s too late to convince me that this is for real. Putting his tequila bottle everywhere doesn’t help either.

    • ES says:

Well, Hepburn wore white loves with a black gown in that iconic “Breakfast” movie. I think this is what Amal was copying. If it worked for Hepburn, why not for her?

  62. CB says:

Does George Clooney’s excessive pronouncements of “love” for his out-of-the-blue new wife remind anyone else of Tom Cruise’s couch-jumping phase for Katie Holmes? (And that marriage proved to be so genuine…) He is acting and looking so desperate to prove something to the world right now. He used to be so alluring and attractive; now he seems old and desperate.

    • ES says:

Yes, it is too much I think. But Amal is no Katie Holmes. If Amal is acting in this relationship then she is a better actress than Katie Holmes as well.

    • Christin says:

A year or two from now, I think we will have a better idea of what led to this surprise marriage. And it may end up being similar to TomKat in the way there was ‘auditioning’ of potential partners who met the strategic requirements.

A year ago, he was the punchline. Yet he returns a year later with a wife AND is honored for lifetime achievements. Methinks he really got upset over last year’s lambasting, and made it known. This year was too rear-kissing.

      • Jayna says:

Ah, Christin, I thought you were smarter than this. Auditioning of potential partners who met strategic requirements? What the?

      • Christin says:

Jayna, I was on the fence until now, but in my opinion, he’s trying way too hard. His speech comment about waiting all his life for love was a tad tacky. Some things are better left unsaid, as that had to be a bit hurtful to his first wife.

I think he is far more sensitive about public perception than I would have thought. Giving him the lifetime award just one year after he was the joke punch line is either coincidental, or a way to erase the perception of contract girlfriends. I’m not convinced he had contract girlfriends, and this may not be a completely loveless contract marriage, but I do tend to believe he has a PR agenda at work regardless.

My reference to ‘auditioning’ is about Tom and how he allegedly met with various actresses (including Katie) under the guise of a project when he was actually shopping for a new SO. I think that in time, there may be more background revealed related to this epic romance. Such as, GC decided he wanted his next girlfriend to be an attorney or businesswoman, and Amal entered his radar. Supposedly he courted an American attorney after Stacy, so that scenario would not be surprising.

Could it be purely organic? Sure. I just don’t fully buy it, though.

      • Esmom says:

I’m sorta with you but also have a hard time imagining that one joke at the GGs last year would prompt such a drastic step.

      • Christin says:

It is tough to fathom that the awards show jokes would change his long held stance on never remarrying, but those jokes were a reflection of people noticing the two year girlfriend pattern.

If his career had been at a stronger momentum, he probably would have shrugged it off. But if only subconsciously, I think it may have impacted him. The leaked e-mail regarding Monunents Men suggests he does pay attention to public perception.

    • Thinker says:

This is EXACTLY what my husband said. He was wondering why nobody called Clooney out the way Cruise was called out. Middle aged bachelor who suddenly believes in fairy tale romances as if he’s a 16 year old girl?

We both think Amal is a prop for whatever it is Clooney plans to launch next… A political career perhaps?

  63. FingerBinger says:

The gloves were too much. She should have gone without the gloves, had her hair up and worn a necklace that matched her earrings.

  64. Marianne says:

Hated the gloves. Not only did it come across as pretentious to me, but they didnt even seem like they fit properly. They looked wrinkly.

  65. ES says:

Isn’t that almost a”Breakfast at Tiffany’s ” look – black dress with a black gown is an iconic Audrey H look. Did anyone pick iup on that?
So then, I don’t think it was a mistake, she is clearly not afraid of being compared to an iconic movie star, or may be she thinks imitation is a form of flattery.
Either way, Amal is drop dead gorgeous, breathtaking really.
It is shocking when a lawyer is more beautiful than the most famous movie stars.

  66. ickythump says:

I always think about TC’s couch jumping when I see GC and Amal – ok so you’ve found your “equal” (Ha) we’ve been listening to this guff all year. Anyhoo I’d love to see Amal in a jewel colour – I think she’d be stunning in ruby or emerald or sapphire or amethyst with jewels and her hair up – her dress was ok but she is extremely thin and the baggy white gloves emphasised the thin-ness of her arms – reminded me of a comment my hubby made when our little one first went to school and we’d to invest in a pair of wellies – he said her legs looked like “2 sticks in a bucket” LOL!

    • ES says:

Yeah, Amal is not his equal. He is beneath her. But I guess she decided that “Hollywood royalty” will do for her . I am not sure she made a right choice.

  67. Rose says:

She makes him look so old. Do you think he’s had any work done?

  68. Lotta says:

I think she is beautiful and looks lovely, she always does.
I’m not much for conspiracy theories, so I think they are really in love and that’s why they married.

  69. Ruyana says:

Maybe Amal wore the gloves to protect her from flu germs?

  70. Lara Morgana says:

I think she looked amazing and I love the gloves. She’s incredibly beautiful.

  71. original kay says:

    Pete Burns circa 1985

  72. scout says:

Gloves, too big and wrong color for her outfit. He said she was mending it at home, may be tightening it to fit her dreadfully thin arms.
Just watched his speech. Minutes before when Don and Julianne were introducing GC’s work, Amal was chatting away with Murray I think and GC was intently looking at the stage. He turns, hissed something in her ears and then she stiffened up, didn’t look anywhere else but stage after that! Few seconds later, he is up on stage using flowery words to describe the “Love”. Haha… worse than Tom jumping on Oprah’s couch, IMO.
Did he really deserve this Cecil B. DeMille award? Very few of his movies are worth watching, I don’t know. But he got it. Enjoy GC.

    • Jayna says:

George turns, “hissed” something in her ear, and she straightened up? LOL Reaching much?

More like Bill Murray said something to her, she was responding or was distracted by something, and saw the camera pan to her and turned her attention back.

  73. HoustonGrl says:

Amal dresses well – but between his gushing and her skeletor frame, I find it hard to be anything but turned off by these two.

  74. aqua says:

After enduring months of anticipation and build up George and Amal finally walked the red carpet together last night and I have to say it felt a little anti climactic to me.Her dress was nice and simple but I was expecting more somehow. Georges speech was the best part.It was really very sweet and I do believe that he really is truly grateful to have found genuine love and happiness at this point in his life.I think they make a lovely couple and will have many years of happiness together.

  75. wow says:

For me, George was doing what he does best…act! Some of his best work was during his acceptance speech last night.

I’m over Amal and still think this marriage is a prelude to something else he’s gunning for, but she looked nice last night. I wished she had gone with a gown of colour, but whatevs.

  76. Thinker says:

I could smell the smugness from my living room. The way the whole show was centered on how wonderful their marriage is made me sick. They’ve known each other a year, they’re just two humans who got married, not gods. The whole thing felt contrived and extremely sycophantic.

  77. Curious Cole says:

If Amal had been nominated for something I wouldn’t be so against this look. The ill-fitting gloves and sash seem to scream for attention, even if it was with a black dress.

  78. Ice Queen says:

I like the gloves. Not a bad idea.

  79. Christin says:

Some of us may or may not agree on whether this is a genuine, organic (for lack of a better word) relationship. Regardless, there is one hurdle they will have to face, and it is not a small one.

It is very challenging for a marriage of two strong egos to succeed.

  80. Jane says:

I liked the gloves, but they could have fitted her more snugly. I also didn’t see anything wrong with what he said about her. They are newlyweds so I give him a break on this one. The only thing I didn’t like was how thin she is. The woman needs a cheeseburger with a milk shake.

It did occur to me she picked the white purse to be able to best show the Je Suis Charlie button. But, carrying a white purse with nothing else being white may have been the reason for the gloves. She felt it looked a little more pulled together to add the white gloves.

  81. Dree says:

I don’t like the gloves and i agree that she may look a bit awkward but she is not an actress and model so i don’t see why she should look comfortable on the red carpet its not her element.
From what i saw of her inside the show she looked comfortable i didn’t think they looked awkward at all.

  82. Jayna says:

Nah. A joke about him at the GG being single with young women meant nothing to him. Jack Nicholson was a notorious bachelor. Al Pacino never married and on his latest young thing. On and on in Hollywood. George isn’t going to run out and get married over a joke.

George was in his 50s and had accomplished everything he wanted and had pushed to the forefront for years. Making it in Hollywood while on a long-running TV show. Then directing, producing. It took years to solidify his spot. Plus his humanitarian work, which at times has been very time-consuming. He I do believe picked the type of women he did because they fit into his life and companionship and sex and he was never tempted to fall hard enough to settle down and marry. He picked a type for a reason. They didn’t require much from him.

Fast Forward, bad back injury. Career goals, check, check, check. Stacy Kiebler his flatest relationship yet. He seemed bored with her. In walks Amal into his life. She wasn’t going to be his right now girlfriend or fall for the hard come-on, that would then die down. I don’t think she just played hard to get. I think early on she let him know she wasn’t interested in being his beck and call girl, accomodating his life, and if there is no future. I think it was timing. He fell for her and actually liked having a woman demand more of him in a relationship at this time in his life. Timing is everything. And does he love the attention he gets with her, because she is fascinating to many? He eats it up. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t love her. I

Did George capitalize on this, like the showy wedding spread, the publicness of it? Oh, sure. No one is thinking differently, his shameless rollout, that he just seemed to get a kick out of doing. But he didn’t marry because of jokes about his siingle life. There’s plenty of bachelors like him in Hollywood.. Marrying someone for that reason would make him miserable and a bigger joke if it ends and a lot of money out the door. He’s too set in his ways. He did it because he wanted to and she came into his life and he was ready for change and she was different.

Excerpt of an interview with George in 2000 as his career was beginning to take off.

“PLAYBOY: Are you still friendly with your ex-wife?

CLOONEY: I saw her about four or five months ago. She’s an actress. She was going to have a baby and she looked really happy. We talked for half an hour, but it was awkward. It’s strange to see someone you were married to and is a stranger nine years later. But it was nice to see her.

PLAYBOY: Your friends say that your real love is your work.

CLOONEY: Yes. I’ve made it difficult to have a relationship, because my first love is work and my second love is my friends. That will change, I’m sure. There will be someone somewhere along the way who will knock me for a loop again and I’ll be willing to sacrifice everything. But for now, I’m driven by work. A lot of people rely on me now. I can’t just take off to the south of France for a week with some girl and have a great time. I feel the responsibility and think it would be wrong not to.”

I think Amal was that one coupled with timing.

    • Christin says:

His comments from this interview are interesting, because he has made other comments saying there would not be another marriage for him. Perhaps that was a way of keeping his low demand girlfriends from expecting a proposal, though.

I go back and forth regarding whether this is 100 percent organic. Things influence us in life and timing undoubtedly played a role. I guess I am a bit jaded by the back stories that have later been uncovered in some famous relationships, and suspect this could be one of them. Time will tell, I guess.

  83. Amelie says:

Having seen Amal in the Globes, her wedding etc, there seems to be a disconnect in what she looks like-physically, ethnically etc.-in the clothes she is wearing, her hair etc. There are different ideals of beauty in different cultures, ethnicities and I wish Amal would embrace who she is-a woman of arabic descent-and build on that. I think for me, the reason her style is not working is that it is not expressing who she is.

    • MinnFinn says:

What is your vision of a dress she could have worn that would be true to her roots?

It’s anybody’s guess as to how much exposure she had to Lebanese culture whilst growing up in London. She moved to London at age 2 and afaik she never returned to live in Lebanon. So perhaps she feels the most affinity with British culture.

  84. Elly says:

white gloves + black dress can look very elegant and Old Hollywood. The gloves should fit like a second skin, then this outfir would look wow

  85. phlyfiremama says:

Love the gloves, but were they earth shattering? Absolutely not.

  86. Camille (The Original) says:

I’m not buying what George was trying so hard to sell either Kaiser. It all felt rather fake and forced to me.

And I HATED Amals gloves, they looked stupid and ruined what was a rather inoffensive look.

  87. Kate says:

I agree about gloves needing to be black. Against her white clutch, they seemed too matchy-matchy.

  88. Sara says:

They both looks so silly. And the gloves are just absurd beyond measure. I really marvel at how this woman can be taken seriously in her field.

    • siri says:

I don’t think she really IS taken too serious. Her boss, Geoffrey Robertson, puts her onto the “sexy”, prestigious cases because of her marriage. He uses her marriage for PR for his firm. THEY announced the engagement first by congratulating them! I red somewhere, that it was HIM introducing Amal to Clooney at some sort of conference- tried to find back the link but couldn’t ( so it’s not really sure, because I could think of her mother playing a part in this as well). There’s a lot of hot air here- and not many results. And the Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Baird refused to see her to discuss the Fahmy case- simply because they deal on government level about this, have constant contact to his Egyptian lawyer, and she is just one of many counselors. She is trying hard to be important, but it’s not gonna happen without results.

      • Christin says:

I wonder if her mother is on some type of lockdown regarding interviews about them? If not, I look forward to some direct or leaked interviews as this marriage progresses. It should be amusing.

  89. taxi says:

Gloves should be sleek, not sloppy. Her hair should be sleek, too, not scraggly. Add the bitch-face expressions & I can’t give this gal any votes for high-style or elegance on the carpet.

  90. Denise says:

The dress has an understated elegance which is perfect for escorting a major award winner. However, I get the feeling the gloves were chosen to get people talking. Amal looks ridiculously gorgeous as always.

  91. Nimbolicious says:

George seems like a big, whiny, insecure baby. Those leaked Sony emails do nothing but reinforce that impression. I could totally see him hissing at her to pay attention before his Big Fat Spech. Yet Amal doesn’t vibe at all like the kind of person who’d put up with either his neediness or his immature, booze-fueled good ol’ boy scene just because she’s so in luuurve. Thus, I can’t help but conclude that she’s in it for other, undisclosed reasons. I also don’t buy that she had no idea what she was in for, because she’s no dummy.

And yeah, not so much with the gloves.

  92. wow says:

What in joan crawford heII is going on with those eyebrows?
    OMG
    frightening

  93. rudy says:

Like the gloves but not the relationship.

It is SO fake. There is not one iota of chemistry between the two.
    Amal ALWAYS looks bored.
Her face says: “what the heck am I doing here?”

Either she signed on for the wrong deal or she is truly naive.

  94. Anotherdirtymartini says:

I’m with you. I didn’t believe any of the love stuff George spewed, and I thought Amal’s response to it was super odd (fluttery lashes…coyness). The only time she looked remotely interested or happy was when Tina & Amy mentioned her and when George spewed about her.

I also think she’s trying to channel Jackie O some. Maybe that’s why George & she married. Something is so fishy.

  95. Debbie says:

In the pic on the splash page, it looks like Georgie has a bangin’ MULLET!

  96. msw says:

Those gloves look like the ones I wear while I watch Downton Abbey and sip tea. Very proper.

  97. Jag says:

Would it kill her to smile and look pleasant for once? Hate the gloves. Since they are “her design” my guess is she’s going to try to get into fashion now? Please spare us!

  98. Flower says:

I didn’t mind the white gloves but black gloves with 2 or 3 1930’s style wide diamond bracelets and she would have rocked it.

  99. siri says:

Did anyone else notice he didn’t mention his parents when receiving this award?

    • Emmet says:

I commented on that yesterday, think it’s disgraceful.

      • siri says:

It’s truly unbelievable, since he always mentioned them, mostly his father. And his speech was rehearsed, so he could have at least included a little “Thanks for everything, guys!” sort of moment. Instead, he focused on his love life- I found that very strange, and, as you say, disgraceful. He obviously is so focused on hammering his new image into people’s faces, that he forgot to thank the only people who have/had a huge impact on him becoming what he is. Sad, really.

  100. sandra fleming says:

Agree with LadyJane, gloves needed to be over the elbow and agree with everyone who said the gloves should have been black. Don’t think she cares much what we think. The marriage doesn’t make much sense to me anyway.
