Swifty is tight with a lot of the younger ladies who attended the Globes on Sunday, like Lena Dunham and Emma Stone. So it was an obvious choice for Swifty to come out to party. She’s done this before: she’ll get all dressed up and attend post-awards bashes, like the post-Oscar Vanity Fair party (a favorite for Swifty). Back in 2011, Swifty attended the VF Oscar party seemingly just to confront her then-most-recent ex-boyfriend, Jake Gyllenhaal. That was years ago, right? The songs have been written and everyone is older and wiser, right? Right. So that’s why Swifty had a little freakout when she realized she was at the same party as Jake on Sunday:

A-list exes Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal were packed together in the same star-studded Golden Globes afterparty on Sunday, Jan. 11, and Us Weekly has the exclusive details on what went down inside Hollywood hotspot Chateau Marmont. An observer tells Us that Globe nominee Gyllenhaal, 34, hit the center of the dance floor shortly after midnight, where he was flanked by beautiful women galore. British singer Rita Ora was one of his many admirers, and danced briefly with the hunky actor to Roy Orbison’s “Pretty Woman,” when their moment was interrupted by none other than Trophy Wife hottie Malin Akerman.

A flirty Akerman stole Gyllenhaal away while his big sister Maggie Gyllenhaal and The Affair star Ruth Wilson were animatedly chatting nearby. Moments after 2:00 a.m., Gyllenhaal’s superstar ex-girlfriend Swift — blade in a bright marigold Jenny Packham gown — was spotted on the dance floor, where she appeared to be stressed. “She wasn’t dancing,” the eyewitness tells Us, “but I saw her grab her friend’s hand and repeat, ‘We have to go. We have to go.'”

The observer tells Us that it appeared that Swift was trying to avoid her famous ex-boyfriend. The same observer notes that Swift, 25, scurried off the dance floor to the bathroom several times, where she ran into several pals including Cara Delevingne, Dakota Johnson, and (awkward!) Rita Ora. “The four girls were together and Taylor was having a mini meltdown,” the eyewitness reveals to Us. “Cara’s arm was around Taylor, calming her down as Rita looked on. They were talking extremely closely.”

After she walked out of the bathroom, Swift was seen frantically walking around in a circle in the lobby. “She couldn’t find her friends and her makeup was smudged,” the onlooker tell Us. Finally, the 1989 hit maker found Delevingne, and the two had a little pow-wow on a bench outside of the party venue.

According to the eyewitness, Swift and Gyllenhaal did not interact at all inside the bash. Before Amy Poehler and Tina Fey’s party, the exes also attended the Weinstein and Netflix Golden Globes bash at the Beverly Hilton, where they were seen having fun with pals separately.

It looks like Selena Gomez isn’t the only one getting all middle-school drama-queen about an ex. Considering all that’s happened in the years since Jake and Swifty’s two-month cuddlefest, you’d think that they would both be over it at this point. But I guess not. Taylor Swift is on top of the world in so many ways, so it’s interesting to realize that she’s still the same girl who will have a cry with some girlfriends about the ex at a party. Here’s another thing though: Jake was actually nominated for a Globe. Of course he was going to come out. Taylor went to the parties knowing that there was a good chance they would run into each other.
