A while back, CB told me that she thinks one of Jennifer Lopez’s makeup artists might secretly hate her and actively try to make J.Lo look like crap. Jennifer’s stylist has been on point for a while now (love her or hate her, can’t we all agree that she looks great?), and I guess we hoped that J.Lo had fired the passive aggressive makeup artist. But something happened… either the makeup artist returned or J.Lo did something to piss off her team. Look at these photos of Jennifer at Friday’s Television Critics Association Winter party. WHOA. It’s possible Jennifer wanted to mix it up with her styling. It’s also possible that someone in her entourage hates her though, right?

Anyway, Jennifer is still promoting The Boy Next Door, which is likely the right blend of sexy, deranged-lunatic stalker and cheeseball. J.Lo gave a new interview to the NYDN – you can read the full piece here. Some highlights:

Why she looks so good these days: “[I’ve done] a lot of work on myself in the last couple of years as far as emotional, spiritual work, self-improvement. And I think that really shows when you feel good about yourself and what you’re doing.”

How she prepares for a red carpet: “We have so much fun, me and my team, playing dress up. We’re always naming the outfits Barbie dolls, like, ‘This is Golden Globes Barbie,’ ‘This is afterparty Barbie.’ Being born in the Bronx and everything, just never imagining my life like this, having such big dreams and now when I get to do things like that .. we have a lot of fun with it.”

She didn’t care about Jeremy Renner referencing her ‘globes’: Lopez gives an emphatic “No!” when asked if she was irked by Renner’s remark.

She hates scary movies: “I hate scary movies. But I love a thriller. One that takes you to the edge without freaking you out too much.”

Playing the older woman in The Boy Next Door: “No, I don’t think about it that way. This is a woman who’s married, maybe late 30s, early 40s, and that’s what I am. There’s no shame in it, you know what I mean! … It’s all just acting.”

Whether she’s dating her costar, Ryan Guzman, 27: “We’ve been doing a lot of promotion together.”

Being single: “You get to a point in your life where it’s not anybody else when things work out or don’t work out. I think that’s been a big part of my journey to finally sit back and go, ‘Hey what is it that you think you’re doing?’ The key is in loving yourself and being happy on your own and then continuing from there. Someone can add to that happiness. ‘Someone’ is also healthy and can love themselves and have a healthy relationship with you, but you have to be whole on your own and you have to be happy on your own. That’s kind of been my journey over the past few years.”

Getting the film made for $4 million: “Truth be known if this script was being made by a big studio, the chances of me and Ryan both being cast — two Latinos in the lead — would probably be slim to none.”

I didn’t even think about the fact that J.Lo and Guzman are both Latinos and they’re the leads. That’s actually pretty cool. I’ll admit it, I saw the longer trailer for The Boy Next Door ahead of Selma, and it looked like a fun, stupid movie. I’m not saying I’ll go to the theater to see it, but I would definitely watch it on TV. As for Jenny and how she’s single now… I want to believe. I want to believe that she’s not seeing Casper Smart on the downlow. I want to believe that she’s genuinely waiting for a nice guy who brings something to the table.
