Johnny Depp is so over actor-musicians: ‘it’s always just made me sick’

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp shuffled down the red carpet in London last night with fiancée Amber Heard in tow. These photos are amazing. We haven’t seen Amber broadly smiling in quite some time. The same goes for Johnny. Both of them looked really over it last week. Now everything is fine. Look at those pearly whites. They’re in a great place. Johnny’s lady showed up to support his latest zany movie character. Now go watch Mortdecai.

Can I stop talking about this movie now? Good. Johnny has an axe to grind with actors who fancy themselves as musicians. Johnny has a long-standing history with music dating back to his high school years. His band was called The Kids. They took the stage as recently as 2008 when Johnny told Rolling Stone, “Music is my first love. I pick up the guitar and space out and drool.” Johnny also regularly hops on stage with his best buddy, Marilyn Manson. Johnny’s not talking about picking up a guitar for funsies. He doesn’t like it when actors “capitalise” on their popularity to launch bands. Dude … Johnny Depp is criticizing sell-outs:

Actors with musical careers: “That whole idea for me is a sickening thing, it’s always just made me sick. I’ve been very lucky to play on friends’ records and it’s still going. Music is still part of my life. But you won’t be hearing The Johnny Depp Band. That won’t ever exist. The kind of luxury now is, anybody with a certain amount of of success, if you have a kind of musical being, you can go out and start a band and capitalise on your work in other areas But I hate the idea, ‘come see me play the guitar because you’ve seen me in 12 movies.’ It shouldn’t be (that way). You want the people who are listening to the music to only be interested in the music.”

Filming Mortdecai was “way too much fun”: “We’d get the giggles [on set] and it’d last forever,” Depp said.

[From Sydney Morning Herald]

Well I’m glad the actors had fun filming Mortdecai because someone should have enjoyed it. Oh, I mentioned the movie again. My bad.

The music shade is fun. Who is Johnny talking about — all actors who try to be musicians, or someone in particular? My first thought was Gwyneth Paltrow (because of course), but Johnny knows better than to shade someone who could show up on a red carpet with him. Tell me who he’s talking about! Ooh, Keanu Reeves or Billy Bob Thornton. Nah. Jared Leto? I can see Johnny being a little jealous of Jared’s rock-star ways.

is it me or is he looking a little chunky? Double breasted suits never flatter. It’s so hard to take him seriously after last year. But I did like him doing guitar on Eddie Vedder’s “Guaranteed”.

    • mkyarwood says:

      Booze bloat!

      • O-)(-O says:

LOL, he looks like he is doing every drug available on the planet. He certainly has the money to blow his brains out every day. It’s so ridiculous that he is trying to sell this showmance as a real love affair.

      • Sara says:

@O-)(-O He is trying to sell what? He’s just posing with her on the red carpet like all couples do.

    • doofus says:

he does look a little chunky…that suit button pulling is what gives it away.

not her biggest fan but she looks lovely.

he looks like he has coke-eyes under those shades.

    • Joy says:

I just came here to say the same thing. If he were a female actress we would all be saying BABY BUMP.

      • Jem says:

Nah, I’m guessing twins at the very least. He could have a whole litter in there…

      • Hawkeye says:

@ Jem, if he was pregnant with a litter of puppies or kittens, I would like him again.

      • Trashaddict says:

Funny, I was going to say, she looks like the cat that swallowed the canary – did she take some great pills or is she pregnant? She’s got that “I’ve got a secret look”…

    • halleygee says:

It’s not you, he is definitely chunky.

    • Jem says:

Yup. Boozy bloat and too much makeup… *Shudders*

    • Lilacflowers says:

My immediate thought was that he looks pregnant

    • Dree says:

He’s been looking chubby for years. But right now he looks kind of fat.

    • Addie says:

      He looks horrible

      • mary simon says:

He’s too young to look that bad.

It’s also interesting that after weeks of them looking somber and blah and the media conjecture about the state of their relationship, they have suddenly sprung to life, laughing and looking at each other, and life’s a party – wow! Switching it up – they are both actors, after all. Amber does look pretty when she smiles, but Johnny’s little grey tooth smile is creepy.

    • t.fanty says:

He looks like someone stuck a bycicle pump up a trouser leg and inflated him. I’m afraid that he might just float away – although I’m sure his fiancé holds onto her meal ticket tightly enough for that not to happen.

    • Sarah says:

He’s bloated as heck. And no doubt reeks. Johnny is over actor musicians? I am over Johnny. Though I don’t care what is said here – I think Mordecai looks kind of fun.

    • Lol, the Dailymail ran a piece a few days ago about how Johnny was hiding his ‘portliness” (or something like that)…I’m just giggling, because Johnny probably gained what? 10-15 pounds, and got a little tubby (for Hollywood at least, he looks hot w/the extra weight)–and they’re remarking on it like he gained 40 pounds (or got as big as Chevy Chase)…as in they’re talking about him like a WOMAN. YAAS! Great steps for gossip equality, yes?

    • alreadyready says:

I bet it ‘ s not carbs fat

    • chaine says:

definitely–Daily Mail ran an article yesterday that included a picture of him from 20 years ago. I had forgotten how breathtakingly beautiful he was as a young man. Sad to see all the pix of him now with the beer gut and the scarves and pocket watches and necklaces hanging out of every orifice. His everyday “style” makes him like Keith Richards’ not-very-much-younger brother, but this double-breasted jacket does him no favors. .

    • Zwella Ingrid says:

I was just thinking the same thing!

    • Mich says:

I think it is more than just common bloat. Given his level of drinking and how quickly he seems to have swelled, there could be some serious issues going on with his liver and other organs.

    • Maria says:

I hope he gets his health in order just as he’s getting his addictions in order. That weight not only doesn’t look good, but it isn’t good for his health.
      We don’t need another Brando!

  2. kri says:

The Scarf is shading The Choker for sure. Verrrrry superhero of him. If those two fake smiled any harder, the universe would splinter.

    • Sara says:

Fake smiled? Lol is that what you call fake smiling? Funny how they are “fake smiling” when they look very happy and they are “miserable” when they are not smiling. They never win.

    • Melanie says:

They look maniacal! It’s very creepy to me.

  3. Arock says:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Johnny depp in a band in the 90s?

    • Sara says:

He was in a band before he was an actor. He is talking about actors who BECOME musicians because of their movies success.

      • What? says:

But, who specifically is he talking about??
I think this is a dig at people like Keanu Reeves whose Base guitar playing was the main attraction for the band. I guess they aren’t friendly.
Wow, Johnny is going to be bitchy while sober?! Excellent for gossip.

      • Forthelasttime says:

Well… now we know that JD is also getting super bitter in his old age… It’s none of his business who does what and when. Who the hell is he to judge what other people decide to do with their careers! Sort out your own life first Johnny – i.e. get over your mid-life crisis; clean up your act and then you can get on your soapbox. Because we don’t like 50 year-old men who leave the mother of their children for twenty something year old girls.“That whole idea for usis a sickening thing, it’s always just made us sick…”

      • Mary-Alice says:

Well, if that’s the case, then he should shut up because Keanu was part of the same Hollywood generation more than 20 years ago (more like 25) that Johnny knows very well who frequented the Viper Room. Johnny knows better than anyone that they were all something else besides actors. It was trendy to be a musician or an artist, or a sculptor, etc. It was part of the culture and he knows it very well.

      • Sara says:

@Forthelasttime Super bitter? Haha, he was just giving his opinion on something that he was asked about. He didn’t mention anyone so why would anyone be bothered by what he said? It’s not his problem if some people here think it’s about actors they like.

And he didn’t leave anyone, him and the mother of his children broke up amicably and they are still friends. He only started dating Amber after they officially broke up.

      • Forthelasttime says:

Sure thing Sara! And we all believe YOU because it sounds like you are Johnny’s shadow and know his every move since 2009!!!!!

  4. Jayna says:

Robert Downey, Jr., is such a great singer. Why shouldn’t he do music if he wants to?

I don’t care if actors have bands or do music. Their audience is small, but those that follow their music seem to be devoted fans. Who am I to judge? It goes both ways. Did anyone judge Harry Connick, Jr., when he started acting also? I think he is enjoyable as an actor and a great singer for his genre.

I judged more when Jon Bon Jovi tried to act. LOL

    • jane16 says:

Agree, if someone can act and be musical, more power to them. Jeff Bridges did a concert not far from where I live recently. Wonder if Depp was shading him?

    • ClaireB says:

Same for Hugh Laurie, his first album is beautiful, he’s excellent on it.

    • Norman Bates' Mother says:

Vanessa Paradis is a singer-actress. Is he judging her as well or is it all ok when you were a singer first?

I remember Cillian Murphy commenting on this topic. He is a very good singer and he was in a band with his brother before he became an actor. He was offered an album deal shortly after his movie debut but he refused. He said that he loves music but the ship has sailed with his first movie. Once you become an actor people won’t ever respect you as a real musician. It’s sadly true but I don’t think it should. There are many actors-singers who are equally good in both fields. I really like Charlotte Gainsbourg – she is an actress turned singer on top of being a child of two famous people but I don’t think she tries to capitalize on it. There are some people who are blessed to have more than one talent. Hugh Laurie is a competent actor, singer, pianist, guitarist and writer. Is he a famewhore for making use of those talents? Jared Leto’s band is not my cup of tea but he is a good singer – why wouldn’t he have a band? Because Johnny Depp said so?

      • Zwella Ingrid says:

It’s almost like he is shading himself. But no reason in my opinion not to do both if you can. If you suck and are just riding a wave of fame from your acting, then your musical career will reflect that, surely.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Agree. If they have talent, so what? Some people are good at more than one thing. I, for example, can waste time while not exercising. Excuse me for being exceptional.

    • O-)(-O says:

Depp is an idiot, lots of actors do play instruments and do some singing on the side, because this is what you are also required to learn when you want to increase your chances of landing an acting job. RDJ, Jared Leto, Goop, Hugh Jackman, Jeremy Renner all do sing and play instruments. Depp is too drunk to say things that make sense anymore.

  5. GingerCrunch says:

So bloated. I’m trying to avoid going down this road in my 50’s at all costs.

    • mimif says:

Really? I’m working on perfecting the technique. I’m getting pretty good at it.

      • GingerCrunch says:

I guess it would be good for strrrrretching out all the wrinkles! 😉

      • DrM says:

I love you mimif 🙂 I’m just shy of my fifties and its an ongoing battle to not get huge…just you wait there gingercrunch….once you get past 40 the sh*t gets real…. 😛

      • Gingercrunch says:

        Y’all! I’m turning 52! I’m there. Oy!

  6. Bichon says:

He looks chunky-paunchy and she looks like one big fake smile.

  7. Bridget says:

That’s right guys – Johnny Depp played in a band and on his friends records because he has real TALENT, not like you hacks.

    • Sara says:

Or maybe it’s because he was a musician before he was an actor. He just lowkey plays guitar on stage with his friends, he never formed a band or released an album after his huge success as an actor.

      • Dree says:

I am pretty sure Jared leto was in a band before he became an actor too.
I think he is being a hypocrite. He is basically a failed musician who became an actor because his friend ( Nic Cage) said you should become an actor. He’s very talented but in the beginning he lucked out because he was a pretty boy. Its not like he spent years studying acting or payed his due on broadway or in london.

      • cr says:

I understand, at one level, the shade he’s throwing. I’m pretty sure all of us have at one point rolled our eyes at the ‘it’ model who wants to act, the actor who wants to sing, the singer who wants to act.
But of course there are those models who can act, actors who can sing, and singers who can act.
As for doing these things after they’ve had some success in another career, some of it may be delusion, but some if it may be finally having the confidence to try it, whether it’s playing guitar, singing, etc.
Maybe for those musicians/actors is is about the music, even if Johnny doesn’t think they’re any good.

      • Bridget says:

Those are opportunities that come to him because he is a successful movie star, and HE’S the one shading actor-musicians when he is one himself. Its a pretty stunning lack of self awareness.

      • Sara says:

@Bridget Not really. He plays with legendary acts that he has been friends with for years and they all love him and praise his guitar playing. He is talking about actors-turned musicians and not musicians-turned actors so how is it a lack of self awareness? He is talking about the ones who release music, he has never released music.

  8. Sara says:

He has put on weight for his role in Yoga Hosers but he still looks good. Amber looks beautiful.

  9. Kiddo says:

Does that mean that I can’t parlay my commenting history into my new band, FAKE BABY? We speed play.

    Amber looks beautiful.

    • mimif says:

Wait just a roundabout minute. Um, I didn’t get the memo. Where’s the memo?? Resend memo immediately.

P.S. Can I speed play the moog synth? Pleeease.

P.P.S. Amber really does look stunning here.

    • Lilacflowers says:

I volunteer to speed play the glockenspiel in your band

    • Kiddo says:

mimif, the memo was sent via a system of pulleys and sheaves, jughandles and inappropriate u-turns. Be patient. Otherwise, I can only send you a FAKE MEMO for expediency.

Yes, moog (remarkably moob-sounding) is acceptable, as well as Lilacflowers’ glockenspiel, but she is required to forgo wearing make-up while emoting in song. Brow lifting is also permissible.

    • Sixer says:

All I have to offer you is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaaQOxkRSRk

Sixlet Minor has it on permanent play. These are REAL BRITISH PEOPLE. But I don’t think they know Johnny Depp. They may have FAKE BABIES but I wouldn’t trust them to go the right way around a ROUNDABOUT.

      • Kiddo says:

        THAT is delightfully barmy.

*Invites Sixer to band, cuts hair into bowl, dons orange hose, and spins Sixer round and round in a cow field.*

      • mimif says:

        Ha ha, my song!!

We need to do a cover of that immeejeeately.

      • Sixer says:

The Power is the entrance music for the UK’s biggest darts player. Snigger. If we do a cover, I’m playing the spoons and I’m coming dressed as a Pearly Queen.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I think Bubbles the Kid would be a good name for a band.

  10. scout says:

She has flawless skin, gorgeous. You are right, looks like he has to shuffle to walk but does look happy. Glad he doesn’t suffer from Bi-Polar, may be drinking way less which always helps to clear the mind. Good.

You pick, there are 25 actors who have their own bands apparently!!

    http://www.examiner.com/list/25-actors-who-have-their-own-bands

  11. Loopy says:

Goop actually has a really nice voice, i love her renditions of ‘cruisin’ and ‘just my imagination’ if someone generally can sing and wants to explore that, why not?

    • OTHER RENEE says:

I agree. Many kids studied acting, music and dance to be a triple threat. Maybe they just hit the big time in acting first but that doesn’t mean they’re not just as talented in other performing arts.

Jayna, so right about Robert Downey being a fabulous singer. Also, I saw Hugh Laurie’s band a few months ago (and took a picture with him, he was so nice to my entire family, chatted away with my son who is his #1 fan). He and the show were fantastic. (And I’m a former voice teacher and not easily impressed.)

      • Loopy says:

Yes and celebrities like Jennifer Lopez often said growing up she looked up to people like Cher, Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler etc who excelled in different areas of entertainment. Some are genuine artists other just do it for extra money and exposure, like these Disney kids who can’t sing or act if their lives depended on it.

      • I thought RDJ was a little bitchy when his album didn’t blow up. I remember reading a quote where he said something like he wasn’t going to put out another album because he put too much work into it to not be well received (or something really wordy like that)…

    • lucy2 says:

I will disagree about Gwenyth’s singing (hits notes fine but has no appeal for me) but I wholly agree that if someone likes music and wants to pursue it, go for it. There are a number of actors out there who are very talented singers and musicians, and they shouldn’t have to hide that simply because they’re famous for acting first.

      • Loopy says:

Lucy have you heard those songs I have mentioned above, she has a nice sultry range, not saying she is Celine, alot better than some ‘seasoned’ singers.

      • lucy2 says:

I’ve heard Cruisin and I think I actually watched that movie, and I’ve seen her sing at other things too. There’s just something about her voice that doesn’t do it for me.

    • Dani2 says:

I don’t have a problem with it either, if they enjoy doing it, why not?

    • Josefa says:

I agree. Singing is pretty hard to fake, if your voice is autotuned, people will notice. Most actors I can think of who ventured into singing are actually quite decent at it.

I’m much more offended by singers who start acting.

EDIT: Hilariously enough, Obsessed is just playing on TV.

  12. Dree says:

He’s become a fat little man.

  13. Penelope says:

I know a lot of posters here and elsewhere consider her looks cookie-cutter Hollywood blonde, but I think she’s gorgeous.

    • anon says:

I think she is gorgeous too. But the real beauty requires personality to go with the looks.
I am not sure how much depth is behind those beautiful eyes of hers. She seems shallow which doesn’t match Depp who has substance.

  14. Lilacflowers says:

Saw Depp play guitar at a Willy Nelson concert this summer. He was pretty good and no scarves!

    • Pandy says:

Ah … so he’s allowed to play with others – that doesn’t count – but god forbid you go out and have fun and start up your own band once you get time and $ available to do so.

I never got the appeal for him and I still don’t. What a poser.

  15. anon says:

Johnny needs to lose about 30 poinds or wear clothes that fit him. He looks kind of sad. But he still comes across as a nice and decent person.

    • Sara says:

He literally signed autographs for 20 minutes at the Berlin premiere. Who else does that?

      • Dani2 says:

Yeah, he’s always been great with his fans, that’s one thing I’ve always admired about him.

      • Loopy says:

@ Sara so is that a compliant or…?

      • cr says:

Apparently for you, no other celebrity. But that wouldn’t be the case.

      • Sara says:

@Loopy Yes! I was adding to anon saying that he is a nice person. He is indeed a very nice and kind person and he does anything for his fans.

@cr I don’t know but have you seen any celebrities sign autographs for that long? Many don’t even bother.

      • cr says:

@Sara, there are indeed plenty of reports of other celebrities who are super nice to fans and will sign autographs and take pictures, for quite sometime. It’s not just Johnny.
Of all the criticism of Johnny over the last nearly three years I don’t recall him being criticized for not being nice to his fans. But he’s really not the only one who’s nice. You really really really like Johnny. But in this case he’s not unique, and that’s a good thing for fans.

  16. Diana B says:

She really is walmart Johanson isn’t she? I’d never seen it till’ today.

  17. lunchcoma says:

If it’s any of those three men, he’s in no place to criticize. I don’t think anyone thinks Keanu is anything other than a cool guy who’s enjoying his hobbies and who’s dealing with the aging thing a hell of a lot better than Johnny is. I didn’t even know Billy Bob Thorton had a band. And Jared Leto took years off from acting to concentrate on his music career.

Really, I’m not sure if I’d accept condemnation of anyone for being a self-indulgent celebrity if Johnny was the one doing the condemning. Pot, kettle.

    • Sara says:

And how is Johnny dealing with the aging thing? He really couldn’t care less about it. He’s not throwing shade at anyone and who would throw shade at Keanu? He’s not relevant at all nowadays.

      • lunchcoma says:

He’s dealing with it by finding a trophy wife, dressing like an elderly gay windchime, and making terrible movies. None of that’s flattering.

      • Sara says:

@lunchcoma He’s with a woman he’s in love with, he’s dressing the way he wants like he always did, he’s not making ‘terrible’ movies on purpose. No actor does bad movies on purpose. Into the Woods was good even though his part was small in it and he got praise from many critics for his performance.

      • JenniferJustice says:

        Elderly gay windchime…..bwaaahaaahaaaa.

      • JenniferJustice says:

Sorry Sara, but he did not used to dress the way he does now. He used to be with women his own age. He used to do interesting movies and now he does only silly stuff…pirates, tim burton animations, and fairy tails.

      • Sara says:

@JenniferJustice He used to be with women his own age? Winona Ryder, Kate Moss and Vanessa Paradis were his own age? Black Mass, Mortdecai, Transcendence and Tusk, etc are not Disney nor Tim Burton films. He hasn’t worked with Tim in 3 years.

      • lunchcoma says:

Not original to me, JenniferJustice. Tom and Lorenzo coined it for him.

      • Dree says:

@ sara To be fair although not exactly his age those women where a decade younger than him. Now he is dating a woman that could be his daughter, Its significantly different. The point being he gets older the women stay the same age.
@lunchcoma Lol at elderly gay wind chime 🙂

      • Cel says:

I wouldn’t call the praise Keanu has received for John Wick irrelevant.

    • Forthelasttime says:

lol lunchcoma… @ sara, you really need to accept that JD made a terrible joke of himself when he hooked up with AH.

      • Sara says:

Sorry I do not need to accept anything. He hasn’t done anything wrong.

      • Forthelasttime says:

It’s not necessarily “wrong” – it’s just not something a decent man would do and it’s especially not something we expected from JD. He’s allowed to say/do whatever he wants. And we’ll be here to judge him for it 🙂

    • Cankles says:

I know this is a couple of days old but I CANNOT stop laughing at the “elderly gay windchime” comment. Thank you. 😀

  18. perplexed says:

I thought he was talking about J-Lo, since her musical career really has no point to it. And her music stinks…

  19. Mew says:

Funny, because he’s musician who became actor. He only started acting to fund his music career but found success in acting and never in music. In some ways, he hates what he tried to be but failed at – acting musician.

  20. manta says:

After reading only the headline I thought it was a dig at Paradis. I know in the US she’s only known as Johnny Depp’s girlfriend, but in France she’s actress-singer-Chanel égérie.

I don’t understand the outrage about actors doing music. For example Kevin Bacon is a great actor, an interesting director and yes, I checked his band The Bacon brothers because I knew him from the screen. They’ve released albums, they tour, their stuff is good. What’s the big deal?
I doubt he’s the target of this rant since he’s low key with it.

  21. bns says:

I actually agree with him on this. Sometimes it works (Juliette Lewis) but for the most part famous actors who put out albums make me cringe.

  22. greenmonster says:

What about musicians going into acting? Is it okay for Johnny Depp that his buddy Marilyn Manson is acting? Or is that making him sick too?

  23. JenniferJustice says:

So, it’s not okay to be an actor and be in a band that i guess specifically used the actor’s name for promotion, but it is okay to be an actor who plays the same character in movie after movie (hey, is that even acting?), who’s hooked up with a girl young enough to be your daughter, to drink yourself stupid and take presenting jobs where you’re drunk on stage, and wear layer upon layer of scarves, necklaces, ties, and hats…that’s not ridiculous and sickening?

The only actors that are also in bands that come to my mind are: Kevin Costner, Jared Leto, Corey Feldman, Billy Bob Thornton, and Keanu. None of their bands are named after them. They like to play music. So what? Are they not supposed to be in bands because they are already actors? If that’s the case, then nobody with a day job should be in a band on the side, right? He just sounds bitter and jealous.

And, yes, he is totally bloated, which is why I don’t beleive he’s put the liquor down yet. There was a time (21 Jump Street days) that Johnny Depp was the cat’s meow. Now? Not so much. I can’t imagine spending my spare time with him. The thought of him walking to her bed….Ewwwwwww…Amber Alert!

    • manta says:

As I said in a previous post, Kevin Bacon records albums and tours too. And his band has his name in it: The Bacon Brothers.
But I fail to see who could be annoyed by that really.

    • Josefa says:

I don’t get why anyone would date Johnny Depp nowadays. Same goes for Leo DiCaprio. I get this sour stink in my nose by just looking at them.

      • Sara says:

Well don’t bother since a great beauty like Amber has been with him for years. Millions of girls would date him nowadays.

      • Josefa says:

And Leo DiCaprio has a whole line up of supermodels willing to ride his dirty, worn-out dong. I guess I just don’t get their appeal-

      • idsmith says:

I agree. The only reason these guys are getting hot chicks is because they are famous. Trust me, these women all close their eyes and imagine someone else – or imagine Johnny/Leo back when they were attractive. Old, ugly dudes in hollywood can get any woman they want…and those women pretend to want the old, ugly guy and not just his fame.

    • Mary-Alice says:

Keanu stopped playing in the band in 2002!

  24. Skins says:

Is he supposed to be good-looking?

  25. db says:

Ok conspiracy theorist here: Amber’s wrapped 2 movies with actors with sideline music careers — Billy Bob Thornton and Jada Pinkett Smith. I think he’s sniping at Smith, who’s also rumored to be bi.

And he’s put on weight because he’s jelly and eating his feelings!

  26. md1979 says:

I read his comments as a dig at his ex, Vanessa Paradis – singer / actress.

    • Mary-Alice says:

Vanessa started acting many years after she had already made music. In between she became Chanel’s face. So, no, his comments can not and I’m sure would not be directed at Vanessa. If anything, he respects her.

  27. Ellen says:

I confess that my first thought of actor-musician went to Russell Crowe.
    I like musician-actor Dwight Y oakum, however. ( Crank I & II, Saferoom , SlingBlade, etc.)

  28. Veronica says:

This is what self-destruction looks like, right? Because he can’t seriously be saying it and still think people are thinking he’s cool.

My question is – how many stars have actually done this? It’s usually the other way around, with musicians trying to ride coattails into film. Gwenyth has done music for movies, but she never pursued it beyond that. Kevin Bacon is too low key and has always compartmentalized careers. Scarjo, maybe? Her first album was a total flop. The duet album she did with Pete Yorn was surprisingly good, though.

  29. zinsi says:

I am thinking early stage cirrhosis?! his drinking days must have been too many. He is not fat…just his tummy hope I am wrong about this one.

  30. ramona says:

Michael Pitt has a band, and while they’re a bit pretentious at times, I actually quite like their album (the band’s called Pagoda). I believe Gosling’s got a band as well.

  31. Dana says:

Ummm…does anyone remember when Don Johnson during his “Miami Vice” days and Bruce Willis post-“Moonlight”, hit the Top 10 back in the 1980s? Yuck.

  32. Sugar says:

First rule is to never talk badly of other celebrities. and really he got Alice Cooper in Dark Shadows, He might just be having a bad day with the boys in the band. But He slammed a lot of actresses and actors including his ex girlfriend. I don’t think he thinks before he speaks anymore. Remember how he said he felt raped while being photographed then took that back. He keeps on saying the same old things and then changes his way of thinking. If he is thinking or becoming Zombie like.

  33. Odile says:

He’s probably throwing shade at Jared Leto?

  34. Seriously serious says:

She looks like she is forcing a smile out of her.

  35. Nicole S says:

I went and saw Kevin Costner’s band when he came to town. I went for Kevin Costner and nothing else. Costner acknowledged the fact that like, you’re all my movie fans, thanks for coming out to listen to me play, which I thought was cool. It seemed more genuine to me than say, Billy Bob who acted like a giant child when that one radio announcer deigned to recognize him as an actor.
