The big premiere of Mortdecai was held last night in LA. Scarfy Depp was there (Bedhead will have those photos later), and so were the rest of the cast. What kills me a little is that this film actually did assemble a decent cast: Scarfy, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor, Paul Bettany, Jeff Goldblum, Olivia Munn and more. Too bad the whole thing looks like a really cheap and poorly acted Peter Sellers rip-off. Anyway, let’s talk fashion.
Gwyneth Paltrow wore this blue-green Lanvin Spring 2015 gown. It feels like she sort of phoned it in, right? Like, she didn’t even bother to get these gown properly tailored, that’s how little she cared. This could have pretty if it was a beautifully tailored column, but Lanvin tried to be fancy with that cummerbund thing, which goes underneath the dress in the back. From the front, this Lanvin makes Gwyneth look wide (and she’s not wide at all) and from the back, this is just… not good. I even think her earrings suck. Damn, Goop! You could do better than this.
Many of Goop’s girlfriends came out to support her, including Tracy Anderson. I dislike this outfit, but I think we should just be happy that Tracy isn’t dressed up as an overgrown cheerleader.
And here’s Olivia Munn in Ralph Rucci. Eh. Basic dress is basic. It’s got a nice fit and it looks nice on her, that’s all I’ve got.
Would you likes some Jeff Goldblum? His wife/baby-mama can’t dress for sh-t. But Jeff found Paul Bettany and they embraced like lovers on the carpet, and all was good.

Totally too big. that look ages Gwyneth badly. She needs to change her hair too. She looks like a reptile.

I wish Olivia would have done something with her hair instead of letting it just hang there. She and Goop should have traded hairstyles/texture.

Agree with all but I liked Olivia’s hair. Thought it was soft and pretty instead of her usual center part/stick straight. That is one fugly dress and earring combo. But then again, I have peasant taste.
Not her best look, I think it is unflattering and does no favours to her figure (which is great IMO). The colour looks good on her though, anyway even if she had showed up in a great dress would have been bad-mouthed here up and down so let’s get the party started…

Gwynneth’s dress needs to be fitted better. It doesn’t give her enough of a defined waist.

For some reason she always looks harsh and angry to me. I don’t think she’s had that much work done, but I don’t like her aggressive vibes (maybe imaginary on my part). Plus she seems ethically challenged when it comes to ways to score headlines. You get the feeling she’ll do anything to keep people talking about her. Her dress sense is usually dreadful, as the above example illustrates. 10% of the time she’ll blow you away, though. She had the potential to be really beautiful but there’s just something about her attitude…
Goop’s dress would have been nice a few sizes smaller. It should have been fitted. The colour’s unusual and lovely.
Olivia—It’s because the Botox drags her inner brows down, like Jack Nicholson brows. That’s why she gives the angry vibes. I think she can look great but that’s not happening here.
I have never seen such a messy, unpolished group of movie stars on a red carpet. The whole thing looks so budget! Olivia, you need a brush, girl. And wtf is jeffs wife wearing??? That is the WORST.
Is Jeff’s wife making a Statement? Maybe she’s there under duress? No makeup, no hairstyle, no high heels, no long dress, no color… Most women married to a movie star would take it up a notch for an occasion like this. The dress looks like old linens from my granny’s house. The shoes are just unaccountable. Even a rubber band in her hair would show a little effort.
I think that is kind of her thing, based on past photos. She is au natural.

And all of them (celebs) looking disconnected from one another, Johnny Depp is now starting to reach Nicholas Cage levels. Between this and Transcendence he’s going to have two bigger critical and probably commercial duds back to back.
I like Jeff Goldblum’s wife’s outfit. Dress and shoes. If she’d brushed her hair, she might have pulled it off.
The baby mama’s dress looks like something a recently pregnant woman would wear while nursing a baby. The front flap lifts up for discreet feeding.

She has naturally wavy/curly hair from the looks of it, so if she’d “brushed” it it would have been a frizzy mess. I guess you think it would be more acceptable straightened? I agree it’s not styled particularly flatteringly but not everyone is willing to strip away their hair’s real texture a la Nicole Kidman, Julianna Margulies, Keri Russell, etc. Curls are not a sin, Hollywood.

There are some good angles of the dress in some of the press on other news sites, it looks great imo.

She isn’t all. Major work done, time all spent on looks and huge glam squad. She pulls off looking good on camera for events but it is all smoke and mirrors. I have seen her many times and interact with so many people on a daily basis. She is average. I would never say that but her whole joy in life is from making other women miserable and making them feel badly about others. Most of you here look as good as she does or if not, would, would all the help she has. Seen many many far prettier celebs also that are very very sweet and supportive of other woman and no where near so arrogant and phony. So glad Chris finally left her as he has been trying to for years. Wish him the best he deserves it. She deserves nothing but a reality check and that will never happen with her no matter what she pretends. Hope you are all well and New Year off to good start.

I have been waiting for reviews for this movie, and because there haven’t been any, I figured it was going to be BAD! Well, finally, rottentomatoes has some reviews…so far Mortdecai has a 0% ROTTEN…so I don’t blame everyone for phoning it in….This movie is a bomb…I read on one website that Jennifer Lopez’s horrible, The Boy Next Door” movie is expected to make more money opening weekend than this movie! I just hate that everyone is comparing it to The Pink Panther movies. Those movies were so funny (not the stupid Steve Martin remakes). Peter Sellers had me in stitches in the original movies!

Gwyneth is a mess, as usual. She needs to stop with the braless looks, her boobs are saggy and desperately need support. At the Golden Globes, that dress didn’t do her any favors either – in the bodice and abdominal areas. This dress does make her look ‘thick’.
Being slim does not necessary equal small-waiste. She’s an ironing board with a burgeoning pouch belly. Can’t stand her so I don’t feel bad ripping on her.
Yes, I noticed her burgeoning pouch belly in those mexico pics recently. I wondered if it was coke bloat or maybe she just ate a burrito for real. But while her tall, slim figure works well for some high fashion, it just isn’t as ‘bikini hot’ as she thinks it is, IMO. Just b/c she is slim, doesn’t mean she can and should wear anything. This is the best she’s looked to me in a long time, actually. Whatever MUA has been doing her makeup recently has done it way too harsh or completely washed her out.

But it does make me so freakin glad that she doesn’t get to be the Queen of the Superbowl like she was counting on, and this film, which looks like a mess, will most likely bomb. All in a week’s time! I’m sorry, but this chick and her smug phoniness irritate me like no other, so it’s kind of hard to resist doing a happy dance.

Spot on! Her body in spite of massive and repeated surgeries is horrid in real life. I am the same height and very slim with more than one imperfection 🙂 couple years older, and I still look better than her which is not saying much! So again, ladies don’t feel badly about yours! Am sure lots of you look far better too! All the magic of Hollywood, and her obsession with her appearance s that makes her look good on occasion. It’s almost impossible to look as bad as she does at that height and weight, yet she does in spite of it all. And The Tracy Anderson method makes her already odd figure worse IMO. Some of Tracy’s moves are effective yes, but if you do entire routine and follow all her over the top rules, there is a good chance you will end up looking strangely shaped. Sure may work for few, but not in same league as Pilates and others. Most celebs and couple of my friends that do her method with good results, only do some of it ,and do other exercises (that Tracy forbids) as well. Also is based on body shaming, unrealistic preoccupation and time for most non-celebs, which I loathe. (And Tracy has a very shady history with the law and quite a record, is not the nicest of folks, but even she is actually far more pleasant to others and sincere than Gwyneth!)

but i really like Gwyneth’s face… she has expression lines! And they look great. She looks like a stunning 40 yr old woman. Don’t get me wrong…. I’m sure she has had work done, but it is good work… she looks her age and has expression. She is outclassing most of 40 yr old Hollywood imo.

The earrings are not bad, they just don’t belong with a gown this formal. And the dress is actually quite pretty, especially the colour. The fit is bad though. Sloppy, sloppy. Still, nobody seems to bother much with their looks for this movie. I do get that…
Shrug..she should pay a little more attention to what goes under..there are backless bras to push up those saggy little boobs..would improve the look..there’s a time to go without and a time for underwires..
