I just finished season 2 of The Fall and I’m so freaked out by Jaime Dornan right now.

    • ehbesea says:

oh my god me too! every time i see him im lowkey disgusted (mostly due to his character on the fall haha)

    • Cindy says:

I feel your terror-he is so scary in The Fall.

    • MrsB says:

I had the opposite problem. While watching The Fall, I knew I should be disgusted by him, yet I kept catching myself thinking how hot he was. Although I’m not sure I would want to be in a room with him by myself because he does play creepy scary very well.

      • Sullivan says:

Yep. I would admonish myself for finding Dornan hot in The Fall. In my defense, I didn’t think the creepy character he played was hot. I just couldn’t help but notice Dornan’s physical charms.

      • Cindy says:

The fact he was so attractive added to the scary factor for me- it made the character even more disturbing!

      • Tig says:

I so hear you- he’s gorgeous and repellant at the same time!! That scene where he’s on the train and the young woman passenger says she is really a brunette- I almost ran out of the room! I still believe Dakota will be let out and they’ll recast Anna. Very surprised director is coming back, tho.

      • Andrea says:

Exactly. Me too. He was too hot to be convincingly creepy for me.

      • Katenotkatie says:

I think his incredible physical attractiveness is purposefully paired with such a horrifying character- I think the viewer is supposed to feel the tension between finding him sexually appealing and recoiling at the very thought of finding such a monster attractive. It’s good storytelling!

    • holly2905 says:

I know I’m in the minority here but his performance in both seasons of the Fall wasn’t really that awesome. Most of the time he says nothing and the few times he had actual scenes I thought he was ordinary at best. I know people adore him based on this series but do they honestly think he’s a “brilliant” actor as I keep reading? Compared to his peers he’s had no real training and little actual experience so it’s hard for me to classify him as such. I completely understand being attracted to him but can we base talent judgements on actual talent and not looks?

      I’ll duck now . . .

      • bettyrose says:

Holly, ITA. Half his creepiness is in that smug beard of his. But the final standoff with Gillian Anderson is pretty intense. He won me over as an actor in that scene.

      • bettyrose says:

        Posted in wrong place.

      • Tig says:

@ bettyrose- that scene with Gillian Anderson was so intense. You could feel the fury and manical rage of that character through the screen. Haven’t seen or read anything to indicate he’ll be back for season 3. To be fair, don’t know where else they can go with those two characters w/o getting into Silence of the Lambs territory.

      • bettyrose says:

MI .. To clarify I wasn’t expressing concern. I was commenting on the intended age level of the books. It’s perfectly natural for adolescent girls to explore their undefined fantasies through books.

I give up on trying to post this in the right place. Sorry. 😉

  2. Megan says:

I share your dislike of bangs. They just don’t work on grown women (or men).

    • Amy Tennant says:

I actually like bangs usually (not always), but I have bangs trauma of my own. Mine got so much in my eyes that I hacked them off with my desk scissors, and they look it

      • Lucy2 says:

Lol, I used to do that at work all the time! No bangs anymore though, but I think they’re fine when cut and styled right.

    • JohnWayneLives says:

Omg why is this chick a thing. Oh right, nepotism. God, she is so… underwhelming in every way, but her smile says she thinks she is the absolute THING. Bleh.

  3. Marty says:

I feel like the whole 50 shades saga mess would have worked out so much better as a miniseries on HBO or something. Are people really going to be hyped about this story by the time the third movie comes out?

    • bettyrose says:

It’s BDSM for preteen girls, no?

      • Marty says:

Oh God, I hope any young girls who see this don’t think that’s what BDSM is really like! Or that’s what your “ideal” man should act like.

      • Mi says:

No,for adult women, just like p0rn movies are for adult men.

      • ichsi says:

I know teens who’ve been preteens not that long ago who write better BDSM porn than FSOG.

      • kcarp says:

I am a grown woman and I kept thinking why would a grown woman want to be controlled like this.

I then thought why am I a grown woman making myself read this horrible crap. It really was terrible, I scanned the sex scenes I was so sick of the sex.

      • Mi says:

Funny, why don’t you ask why your husbands/boyfriends enjoy p0rn movies in which women are portrayed as a things/tools/objects?It seems it doesn’t bother them.

      • bettyrose says:

MI…what’s your point? Yes some men enjoy domination fantasies. That has no relevance to the age level at which 50 Shades was written

      • Mi says:

My point is that some movies are made for adults but it doesn’t mean they are watched only by adults.I just want to show hypocrisy of women posting here and there how they seem to be concerned about young innocent girls who will see ”bad” things in Fiftty but they are perfectly ignorant of what kind of p0rn they beloved sons/husbands/boyfriends are watching on regular basis.

      • irm says:

This demographic is definitely middle aged women, not pre teens. I know someone who is friends with the author =as in, spends hours and hours on those forums, overnights to get tix to comic con to meet twilight people back in the day, ignoring your family/kids/spouse for years [lol but not really kidding] etc. They are most definitely mostly middle aged women. I thought that was a known thing-but I guess since some pre teens were fans of twilight [along with all the grown women], there could be some crossover?

    • Lilacflowers says:

      There’s a story?

    • Kiddo says:

I feel like it would have worked out better if we didn’t hear about it every 3.5 seconds.

    • Caz says:

      they’ll split the 3rd book into part 1 & 2 movie (hehehe).

  4. tifzlan says:

I feel like that look Kim gave during Kanye’s thoughts on Beck is how she always looks whenever he speaks.

“Not the charcoal gray two piece, Kim. The slate gray. SLATE. That’s fashion. Sigh. My genius strikes again.”
    *Kim look*

  5. Kaligula says:

I saw the preview. They both look 16 years old. Not sexy at all #Snoozefest

  6. SnowGlow says:

As someone with curly/unruly hair who would give ANYTHING to have some awesome bangs, it makes me upset Dakota, who has straight hair, cant get semi decent bangs. And WTH is that sweater? It looks like a bathroom carpet fashioned into a cardigan with oreos falling down the middle.

  7. paola says:

Kim’s face says it all. In her head she is saying: ‘Holy f**k. First Bruce car accident and now this. So many bad publicity in just a few hours. How do I get him to shut up? How do I get rid of him??????’

    • Chrissy says:

Paola, I don’t think that Kim sees any publicity, not even bad publicity, as a bad thing.
She lives for this stuff! It’s so old and pathetic…..

  8. holly2905 says:

i think it’s ironic that everyone was expecting DJ to be the main fault with the film yet early screeners are complaining more about JD’s flat portrayal and lack of authority and control. That’s what happens when you have no real body of work on which to rely on to create an actual character (even out of dreck) but a great PR campaign (having that body doesn’t hurt either!).

    • Mom2two says:

Jamie Dornan comes across so flat in any commercial for 50 Shades, so I am not surprised the early screeners are saying this.

  9. lucy2 says:

Perhaps Universal should wait to see how the first one does before announcing 2 sequels.

And how did I guess that Kim’s expression was a frozen face, blank stare? That’s her face 99.9% of the time.

  10. kri says:

I hope Jamie drops ouf of the sequels…he’s a quite good actor. And let’s face it.DJ is like having sex with oatmeal. Just oatmeal no Cinnamon no sugar…Blah.

  11. BJ says:

Natalie Portman looked so radiant all weekend long in Berlin. I can’t wait to see Knight of Cups.

  12. boredblond says:

Judging by the previews, these two have the electricity of a dead battery..aren’t previews supposed to be the best stuff? Ouch..next year’s razzie winner?

    • nikko says:

I can’t see either of them as Christian and Ana. Isn’t Christian a ginger or a little ginger in the booK. I really don’t like Dakota for Ana. I read they don’t even like each other outside of the movie.

  13. Katie says:

You know you’re over the top when your wife, who bared her naked rear end on a magazine cover, is giving you the side eye.
Well, maybe he doesn’t actually know what a joke he’s become…

  14. Mindrew says:

Ummm…. There was supposed to be two sequels to the Daniel Craig/Rooney Mara Girl With the Dragon Tattoo also. That didn’t happen. oh and right before Tron: Legacy came out, they were saying there would DEFINITELY be two sequels coming – they scrapped those plans after opening weekend. Just because they say the sequels are coming, doesn’t mean they actually are. Let’s see IF the sequels are made to this crap. I’m hoping they realize its not worth it.

  15. Tig says:

Well if they do make a sequel, combine the last two- God forbid they split the last one into two movies!!

Re JD’s performance- if accurate, someone missed the boat- that guy can flat deliver “intense”- see comments above re The Fall.

  16. word says:

This Fifty Shades of Grey movie has been promoted for over a year and a half now. I am so sick of hearing about it. Now there will be two more ?! How could this movie possibly live up to the hype?

  17. lisa says:

maybe the oatmeal lobby needs a spokeswoman

  18. Miran says:

Or we could all just agree that Beyonce doesn’t deserve every single award just because Beyoncé, and that she put up a crappy record.

  19. kim says:

They both seem like good actors, but I don’t know if sequels are such a good idea. I hope they find their places in acting before the sequels. Movie seems like not worth holding on.
