Lohan’s arrest warrant ‘a misunderstanding’ (UPDATE)

lohan-fame1

The arrest warrant issued over the weekend for Lindsay Lohan has nothing to do with the latest violent fight she had with girlfriend Sam Ronson. At issue instead is the actress’ compliance with the terms of her three-year probation stemming from her 2007 DUI arrest. Lohan’s attorney has said that the latest development is nothing but a misunderstanding that should be cleared up without Lohan needing to be arrested.

We know exactly why Lindsay Lohan is being hauled into court Monday and it’s no big deal — probably.

Here’s why an arrest warrant was issued. Lindsay was in an alcohol ed program for more than a year and was in full compliance with her probation. Sources say not too long ago she decided to switch programs. She either was late or missed one of the classes at the new program — she says because the paparazzi made it impossible for her to show up on schedule. So the program director sounded the alarm last week to the court. And that’s why the judge issued a warrant.

Based on what we know this is not a big deal and Lindsay’s new lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, should be able to have the warrant 86’d — no problemo. The only wild card — there’s a new judge on the case and she’s really tough.

We’re told Lindsay will not show for the appearance unless the judge decides she wants her there.

Of course, any time Lindsay is in the news, her famewhore of a father, Michael Lohan, just can’t resist the opportunity to shoot his mouth off. He blames this entire incident on Sam Ronson.

While Lindsay Lohan remains holed up inside Samantha Ronson’s Hollywood Hills home awaiting a court hearing Monday on an arrest warrant in her DUI case, she hasn’t been alone.

Aside from a squadron of police cars keeping paparazzi at bay, a trio of women paid a visit Saturday evening for an apparent counseling session.

The threesome arrived around 7:15 and left about an hour later. When asked how their meeting with Lohan went, one of the women, who identified herself as a longtime friend, replied, “Good.” Asked how Lohan was doing, the woman repeated, “Good.”

Earlier, the arrival of LAPD cars outside the home led to speculation that officers might be acting on the arrest warrant issued Friday. But the police quickly quashed such talk. “They are there for paparazzi,” said a department spokesman. “We are not the ones looking for Lindsay Lohan.” (The warrant is in the jurisdiction of the Beverly Hills Police Department.)

Indeed, a crowd had gathered outside the home, comprised of paparazzi and other news media types, curiosity seekers and angry neighbors. Photographers who had been camped out since Friday night said they heard the sounds of an argument and of broken glass from a window breaking at Ronson’s house.

Meanwhile, Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan, has chimed in on his daughter’s latest legal woes.

“I love Lindsay. I’ve been telling everyone this relationship with Sam is toxic,” the elder Lohan tells E! News. “Hopefully this is a wake-up call for her because we all really want her to get her life better.”

Lohan, who has had an on-off relationship with Lindsay, says he supports her unconditionally.

“I’m here for her 100 percent,” he said. “But nothing is going to get better with Sam Ronson in her life.”

Authorities have not specified why Lindsay Lohan is a wanted woman, other than it has something to do with the sentence in her 2007 DUI case. Her lawyer has claimed the whole thing is “a misunderstanding.”

The man just can’t pass up a chance to bash Ronson, can he? Let’s not forget that Lindsay was a law-breaking, drugged out mess long before Ronson came along. Did Daddy Lohan have this much venom for that punk Lindsay was shagging in rehab- the one who sold her out to all the tabloids as soon as she dumped him?

UPDATE: Us Weekly is reporting that the arrest warrant for Lohan has been vacated after her lawyer submitted proof that Lindsay has been complying with the terms of her probation.

The warrant issued for Lindsay Lohan on Friday was recalled Monday in court.

In a quick hearing in L.A., Lohan’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, showed proof that Lohan had been complying with the terms of her probation stemming from a 2007 DUI arrest, her second, including attending alcohol classes. The actress, 22, was not present.

“Lindsay Lohan has been complying with aspects of the program,” Judge Marsha Nevel said, adding that they’re had been “no dirty [drug] tests.”

Lohan will enroll in a new alcohol and drug program; her attorney will provide proof by April 3.

The judge also asked that the court be notified of any future issues “so that things won’t go out of control.”

Outside of the courthouse, Holley told Us: “This is much ado about nothing. It was a misunderstanding and we have cleared it up.”

Holley added that the warrant was difficult for Lohan to deal with “while she knew she has been doing everything right.”

I wouldn’t quite go so far as to say Lohan is “doing everything right.” What about those photos of her this weekend leaving Jack Nicholson’s house at 4 a.m., looking completely wasted? What about her meltdown with Sam that resulted in a broken window and a Twitter-preserved, incoherent rant? She’s drinking again, at the very least. I feel another “adequite” Blackberry rant coming on any minute.

Maybe it would be easier for her to follow the rules if she was behind bars. Her lack of remorse, lack of responsibility for her own actions and disrepect for the rules that WE ALL have to follow makes me sick.

i dont even read articles about her…sorry…but i just have to say…what a sad, sad trainwreck. she looks like a skinny spray tanned overdone b*tch who threw away her future…and thats because she is. she used to be so cute, healthy, genuinely beautiful and full of potential. you’d never know that by looking at her now.

  3. Wow says:

Gawd, I wish her Dad would STFU already. Lindsey is a head case, but HE comes across as such a famewh*re.

And excellent point, CB! If it were any normal person who did this, we would already be in jail. Lindsey has recieved so many chances to straighten herself out. I wonder if she ever will?

She had such a promising career. She actually has (well had) talent. Now she has become a joke. Its sad.

I agree with nolonger. She used to be cute and vert talented and flushed it all down the toilet. I’m so bored with her life-how can she not be? Living with that much chaos would make me have a freaking panic attack.

She needs poverty, a sh*tty work, and that everybody forgets her for a while. Maybe her head will fall back on. She’s still very young…
