Am I the only one perturbed that now Catwoman is bi?

    • illandri says:

      I hope so…..

      • Catk says:

It would be more forward-thinking to have a male superhero be bi. I’m sure all the geek boys reading comics are turned on by girl-on-girl action.

      • LMS says:

Yes. Bisexual visibility is a good thing, even if it’s in a comic book.

      • amunet ma'at says:

Catk..I’m an Catwoman avid fan and knowing the history. I don’t think this is organic or natural for this character. I feel like was done for shock value or to say they are being progressive without having to do any of the ground work. Why not introduce a new character, or use a character where this change would make sense.

  6. Moneypenny says:

Pimp My Ride wasn’t real?!? Just don’t tell me that the llamas in Phoenix weren’t real–I can’t handle another disappointment.

  7. Rhiley says:

Sam Rockwell dancing looks a lot like Ellen dancing. Oh, and I am thinking of changing my real name to “Ya Boy Xizibit.”

  8. I Choose Me says:

Just saw the news that Leonard Nimoy has died.

RIP dear Spock. Thank you for giving us such an iconic character and for your contributions to the art and entertainment world.

  9. JH says:

Sam Rockwell is one sexy-as-hell national treasure.

  10. Maria A. says:

I’m wondering if they even have a suspect yet. This does not make that hotel look good, so you know they’re sweatin’ this kind of crime happening at their place during such a high profile event.
Meanwhile, who knows how many necklaces have been made of that pretty dress by now?

  11. aqua says:

I can’t even imagine how Lupita must be feeling about this, even though it’s not her fault. If something like this ever happened to me, I would be a nervous wreck. I’m sure the dress is insured right?

    • qwerty says:

      Why would she be nervous?

      • Bridget says:

Because it would be nerve wracking to potentially be on the hook for that kind of money (of course, we dont know what kind of agreement she had with Calvin Klein), and the fact that it means someone tracked down her info and broke into her room.

      • lucy2 says:

I agree Bridget, I imagine she feels violated because someone went into her room and stole something, plus she has to be upset that it was something so valuable that was in her possession at the time.
Honestly I’m surprised she still had it a couple of days later, I would have thought the designers reclaimed loaned gowns the following day.

      • DaysAndNightsOnAir says:

        @ lucy2
That is what I would have thought, too. That you have to hand back the dress pretty much the next day.

Furthermore: those pearls were REAL? Not plastic? Astonishing.

Btw. My first thought was that somebody with easy access stole the dress. I bet you can’t fold that dress into a neat little package due to all the pearls. So it would have to be carried out as a rather long package and probably in a long dress hanger bag.

  12. Kiki says:

The she should be careful about what not to post on Instagram.

    • homegrrrl says:

It’s victim shaming to implicate Lupita was somehow remiss for posting photos on social media. The onus falls upon the perpetrator. Plus why would a designer want the dress back- the next day? So someone else could be photographed in the gown the same season? Both ideas are absurd

  13. LaurieH says:

When I first saw this dress on her on the red carpet (from a distance), I thought it looked nice. When I saw a close-up of the dress, I was floored. That girl KNOWS her body and knows what looks good on her. She’s gorgeous.

  14. aqua says:

I just heard on the news that the dress has since been returned. What a big relief for everyone.

  15. msd says:

The Lupita dress thing is quite funny now. The thief returned it because the pearls were fake. Then they called TMZ to complain! It’s sooooo Hollywood.

Calvin Klein is blaming Lupita’s stylist for telling police they were real pearls. But Francisco Costa described to Vogue about how he “looked at a variety of different pearls—South Sea, iridescent, and natural—and decided that the natural pearls looked the most beautiful.” etc. etc.

    • thinkaboutit says:

I guess he meant the look of natural pearls. That many natural pearls would have cost literally millions of dollars. If one could even source that many natural pearls. They are exceedingly rare.

      • msd says:

Oh I think CK were very happy to give the impression that it wasn’t just beads, which are super cheap to buy. The stylist thinking they were pearls and telling the police is the amusing part to me.

  16. taxi says:

Did anyone ever really believe that Lupita’s dress had real pearls? There’s a bridge in Brooklyn you might want to buy. And the thief got into her empty hotel room because the door was left ajar! If the pearls had been real, there would have been a guard until pick up time because it would have been worth a lot more than $150k.

  17. Triple Cardinal says:

    Courtesy of TMZ.com

Lupita Nyong’o’s Oscar gown was returned to The London West Hollywood Friday afternoon where it was taken 2 days earlier … and the thief called TMZ to tell us where it could be found and added it was a worthless fake. A guy called us at around 2:30 PM Friday and said he had taken the dress from Lupita’s hotel room after he noticed the door was ajar. He said he and others took 2 pearls off of the dress and took them to the garment district in downtown L.A. … where they were told they weren’t real. The thief says he decided to take the dress back to the London in a garment bag that was inside a trash bag that he deposited in a 2nd floor bathroom adjacent to a fitness center. We contacted the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. and gave them the info. They went over to the hotel and retrieved the bag and they found a garment bag with the dress inside. Law enforcement says they were told the Calvin Klein dress was worth $150K, but the thief says it’s almost worthless. The thief told us he returned the bag and called us because he wanted the world to know “Hollywood’s fake bulls**t.”
