Gorgeous Hollywood mom Kate Hudson has a “hidden talent,” according to Star Magazine. She’s a skilled hairstylist and regularly cuts her own hair. Owen Wilson is said to even have let her cut his hair and to have asked her advice on hair care products.

Kate cuts her long-haired son Ryder’s hair, too.

It turns out that [Kate Hudson] cuts con Ryder’s hair as well as her own. And recently, beau Owen Wilson has entrusted Kate with his artfully tossed gold locks!

“Owen’s very picky about his hair, and he really likes the results,” says the friend. “In fact, he consults Kate on hair products. He likes his hair wavy, and Kate knows how to keep it that way.”

Poor Owen will have to find another hairstylist now that his relationship with Kate is over.

Kate Hudson has gorgeous kind of effortless hair and I always assumed she had an excellent hairdresser. Isn’t it usually a bad idea to cut your own hair, even if you’re skilled at doing it for other people? Maybe she just has hair that’s not super-thick and is more tame-able than mine. If your hair has a lot of volume, I would imagine that it would be harder to cut as you have to do your own layers and take out some of the bulk.

My son’s hair is short, and I only tried to cut it once with poor results when he was younger and the hair was thin and you couldn’t tell how much I messed up. Now he gets it cut professionally. Maybe if it was long like Ryder’s it would be easier to cut straight across. I’ve never liked long hair on little boys though.
