Is Christina Aguilera a diva? Is water wet? Is the sky blue? Does People Magazine Photoshop babies to look like robot dolls? The answer is yes, of course. But how much of a diva is Christina Aguilera these days? I feel like we’re supposed to think that her baby girl, Summer Rain, changed her and made her less crazy. But… probably not. Star Magazine says that Christina went WAY overboard with her demands when she made a guest appearance on Nashville:
Christina Aguilera may be the new kid on the set of Nashville, but she’s already too big for her britches. The Voice star recently arrived in Tennessee to begin filming her guest role — a pop princess named Jade St. John who’s looking to go country — but ABC insiders say she’s brought her L.A. attitude with her!
“She’s asked for not one but three hairdressers to be on call 24 hours a day because she’s so worried about what the Nashville weather will do to her hair,” an on-set source reveals. “And her wardrobe options are twice the size of anyone else’s. She insisted that she looks sexier than any other cast member and even wants her heels to be the highest.”
But the diva’s demands are off-key with the rest of the cast. “Everyone else on set is very down to earth,” the insider adds. “Hopefully Christina won’t alienate herself.”
When Nashville was first on, I remember thinking that Hayden Panettiere might be difficult to work with, but you rarely hear any stories about any kind of diva behavior from her, right? I think Hayden is just happy to be working. Christina Aguilera might benefit from that kind of outlook, because I always feel like she’s just one diva tantrum away from getting herself booted from all of network television.
Incidentally, Radar recently had a story about Christina coming back to The Voice after her maternity leave and how everyone on the show just remembered how much they hate her. A source told Radar: “Christina is such a terror to work with. She is frequently late and she doesn’t even seem to care or apologize for holding up the filming of the show. To make matters worse, she is constantly fighting with Adam. They cannot stand each other.” I thought she had a crush on Levine? She must be pissed at him for getting married.
People want Gwen Stefani and/or Shakira back, because Gwen and Shakira were actually nice, polite and professional. The producers were actually hoping to bring back Gwen or Shakira on a temporary basis, but Aguilera apparently shut it down – she wants to be the only woman on the show. I have to think it’s a contractual issue, right? Because why would you bring back Aguilera when you could have Gwen or Shakira? I assume whenever Aguilera has fulfilled her contract, the producers will replace her permanently.
PS… She also needs someone to take away her orange paint gun because OMG.

I’m over her tan. I loved Christina when she had her natural paler skin with her blue eyes, like when she was a teen pop star. For years now she overdoes that fake tan. I don’t get it.

I recall everyone’s gleeful hope that Christina had been fired when she left the show on maternity leave. It was always just a maternity leave … Christina was always going to return to the show.
I don’t watch the show, but think it was Blake who sent out the number. I vaguely remember reading that here.

Couldn’t agree more.I actually watched The Voice when Gwen was on and actually enjoyed it.Gwen doesn’t have the singing voice Christina has but she has presence and know’s how to perform and seem’s pretty down to earth and work with other people.I alway’s thought Christina was bitter because Britney Spears was the bigger breakout star from the 90’s even though she had a better voice.There is something really unlikable about her.

She does seem different: quiet, very sweet towards the contestants, laughs a lot and there is no orange tan.
As a coach, she is a millionth times better than Gwen and shakira combined. On camera, she does get along with all the judges. I think in the first 2 seasons she would ” argue w/ Adam”. He had an attitude of ” I know at all” too, but always followed her advice.

As much as it pains me, I do have to agree. My family watches the Voice, and she does seem much more mellow this time around. She still slops her makeup on with a trowel but she hasn’t been nearly as orange. My kids actually call her “Miss Piggy.” 😉 And during the “Battles” she looks like she lost a bunch of weight.
I liked Gwen way more, tho–she has always seemed like a genuinely sweet person who works hard. I thought it was SO cute that Gwen specially made t-shirts & handed them out to each person on her team. I can’t imagine Xtina doing that…

She was pretty bitchy on camera too before. She’s definitely mellowed and the other judges seem to be getting along with her nicely so I’m inclined to believe she isn’t being nearly as bad.

No, it’s not. First of all how does Star Magazine have any credibility? Secondly, the cast and crew of Nashville have been tweeting about how nice and professional Christina has been. There is overwhelming concrete proof of her being received positively and no credible source of negativity
Christina always disappoints me. She’s an incredibly talented singer, but always has diva issues and makes bad career moves. She’s also very naturally pretty, but pours on the make up and fake tanner, and dresses tackily. I just want her to get an elegant make-under, do an album of good songs that show off her voice, and be nice to those around her.
She’s a gifted singer, but she’s not in touch with reality. I’m sure she is a lot like Madonna, Mariah, J-Lo, and other high profile celebs, in that they surround themselves with yes men and sycophants. Everyone around them is telling them how wonderful they are, how beautiful, how they are always right. What often follows is that they develop massive entitled egos. No one in their protective bubble — hangers-on and paid employees — will dare criticize them and give them a dose of honesty.

If true, Aguillera’s on set demands don’t seem that unusual for your typical diva and besides it seems to fit the character of the guest role to a tee.
In addition, Aguillera doesn’t seem any more feisty than Simon Cowell. I’m a little bothered by people praising Gwen and Shakira for coming across as so sweet and kind while the bitchy harpy Aguillera is out of control – too many tropes to count.

Adam comes across the most unlikable on the show, and has for a while now (in the first season, Christina annoyed me more). But Christina is definitely a bit of a diva. Not evil or anything, just a little demanding. She reminds me of a young, toned down Mariah Carey.
I agree. I find Adam makes decisions that speak moro to himself than to his contestants – I picked this song because I liked it, pick me because I am awesome. And he always lets the most talented girls go early. He makes bro teams. And I like Christina more this season than others, loved Gwen’s personality more than her coaching, but think she could really grow into a better coach.

This is just fake. People on Instagram have been posting pictures and saying she’s really sweet. Also she’s wearing a black wig so that whole thing about he hair makes no sense. Fake fake fake.
