Jennifer Aniston would never do a pixie cut, or do a ‘trendy’ platinum color

wenn22223790

Call me crazy, but I’ve been missing Jennifer Aniston. All of a sudden, she got sort of interesting when she was hustling for an Oscar nomination. But since the Oscars (where she failed to get a nom but did score a presenting gig), she’s been really quiet. Which is her M.O. – she turns on the hustle and then she’s capable of “disappearing” or staying off the radar for months at a time. So I’m glad that she’s giving interviews again. Unfortunately, her new interview with Fashionista is all about…wait for it… hair. It’s just infotainment/product placement/shilling for Living Proof, the haircare company that she co-owns. Some highlights:

Her hairstylist & BFF Chris McMillan convinces her to try new things: “Oh god, yes. Always. Chris has that thing where he’s like Edward Scissorhands. He just sees hair and he wants to cut it. He would love for me to go… he wants to just cut it all off, kind of like a pixie, which I will never do. And he always likes to give it a good two inches every year, just a healthy cut. He’s also suggested going back to dark brown. We play with different things. I do listen to him sometimes.

Whether she ever felt the urge to go platinum: “No. No I don’t. I’m not a trend person really. I kind of wait for the trends to go. Platinum blond — unless it was a wig — no.”

The no-shampoo movement: “Silicone is a culprit in most shampoos. Over time, it builds up and turns into a hard coating and it cracks and breaks and snaps your hair. [People were] always saying, ‘Don’t wash your hair every day!’ but it was impossible — because of all the oils and silicone — it would create this greaseball head of hair within a day. The Living Proof scientists over there at MIT found a molecule to replace the silicone. Therefore, your hair is lighter and cleaner for days. I’d say I go every two to three days easily without washing my hair.

Whether she shampoos her hair after workouts: “No, I don’t. I actually don’t. A little sweat in the hair is nice. It’s like a little product. You just blow it out with your fingers and it’s actually just fun.

Why she wore her hair down at the Oscars: “I just wanted to be comfortable that day. The [Versace] dress just fit like a glove and I felt so comfortable. I don’t like [to wear] my hair up very much. I’m not an up-do kind of gal. I feel like if you’re wearing a gown with glitter, you want to have beachy, natural hair to kind of go against that. So that’s sort of my main thing, being me. Being comfortable.

[From Fashionista]

She was doing updos for some of the earlier awards season events, likely in attempt to show potential Oscar voters that she could be serious and award-worthy, that she wasn’t just a shallow lady with famous hair. But once she didn’t get the Oscar nom, the hair came down and it’s never going up again!!! What else… I agree with Chris, she should go dark brown (or even a warm medium brown) for a change. I think darker hair would make her look younger. I don’t think she should ever go platinum though – that’s a difficult look for many women, and I don’t really think Aniston has the skin to pull it off. As for Chris wanting to do a pixie on her… eh. I think pixies are “trendy” too, but thankfully the trend seems to be dissipating some.

Last thing: I think it’s gross to NOT shampoo your hair after a workout. But then again, I get really sweaty and I can’t imagine not properly washing everything after a workout.

“The Living Proof scientists over there at MIT”. Why do I sense that she doesn’t know where/what MIT actually is?

    • Cecada says:

I think it’s telling (and hillarious, in all honesty, but then again I’m an engineer) that she thinks this is what science is prioritizing: better hair.

      • perplexed says:

If this is actually happening at MIT, she’s not entirely wrong. Why are they working on Aniston hair products?

      • irma says:

Since the economy largely functions on consumer spending, you bet that MIT and
science are involved in household products, beauty, cleaning, etc. Even most food products are scientifically created-many brands of chips, boxed foods with spice mixes, cookies, baked goods, etc. They are laboratory babies-and not great results, hence the push back to ‘real food’.
Science is not some separate entity, only involved in big, ‘consecrated’ projects deemed worth of value. Science is part and parcel nearly all facets of life. And, don’ think science isn’t political and/or about the money. It’s not a religious alter of do goodery. What gets funded for research is highly driven by those who fund. Follow the money, as they say, and you might find shampoo!

      • joan says:

She looks slathered with makeup in an aging way in these photos. And her hair looks way too “arranged” to look “casual.”

This is the worst I’ve seen her look.

  2. Loopy says:

Short hair and especially pixie cuts are not for everyone, Jennifer and Sarah Jessica Parker do not look good with short hair, its just the shape of their faces.

  3. Luca76 says:

She should definitely go darker. I think darker and less extenstions.
She looked great in Horrible Bosses of course it’s closer to her natural color so it looks better.

    • doofus says:

I agree on the darker hair. and a big NO to the pixie cut. you have to have a certain kind/shape of face to wear that ‘do and she ain’t got it. very few women look good with it.

    • Lady D says:

My natural hair colour was platinum. I was one of those babies that looked bald ’till they were 2 because of my hair colour. Over the years, my hair has darkened to a gold blonde in summer, and darker in winter. I couldn’t pull off my natural colour any more, (@54) I wonder if Jen feels the same about her natural colour?

    • Zwella Ingrid says:

Darker hair is ok on her but I disagree with darker hair making you look younger. I actually think as you age, a lighter hair color is more flattering.

    • holly hobby says:

Yes she looked fabulous with dark hair in Horrible Bosses!

  4. NewWester says:

Did Jennifer just throw shade at Kim K with the platinum hair/wig comment?

    • lisa2 says:

Don’t they both have the same Hair guy. So I would imagine she and he may talk about Kim..

Kim is not the only person to do that look. Maybe it is that Kim is being talked about regarding her hair (good or bad) and Jennifer not as much. I think she missed the height of her Hair days. Her hair doesn’t look special or good to me. I think there are so many other celebrities with much more enviable hair than hers. I don’t get all the talk about her hair being great. I a black girl so I don’t look at her hair maybe the same way as some people that aren’t of color. But I don’t see it.

      • GoOnGirl says:

I agree with you lisa2. She hawks Living Proof, but wears extensions. Is Living Proof good for washing with extensions in your hair? She never touches on this. I thought she said she gave up extensions and got a hair cut because the extensions were “causing her hair to thin”. So much for that. I just don’t get her hair at all. And to think, that’s mainly what she’s known for.

      • True Dat says:

Agreed LISA! I’m indian and my grandma has better hair than Jennifer Aniston. I have better hair than Jennifer Aniston. My 6 year old cousin has better hair than Jennifer Aniston and even my Dad has a thick luscious velveteen coating of thick black hair at 58 that’s better than Jennifer Aniston. This is no DISS to Jennifer Aniston- her hair is cute. But to Indian/pakistani/Bengali people we look at that hair like “ehhhhhhh.” To us this is really not “good hair” it’s thin and to us it’s not long at all. Granny got hair down to her waist! Still! I get we have really awesome hair by ethnicity in terms of we have tons of it and it doesn’t come out and it’s long and dark and thick and everyone is always trying to make us sell it for weaves. So agree her hair was never awe-inspiring to me either. My grandma certainly didn’t get it! In no way do I mean to bash anyone. It’s just interesting, the cultural beauty norms we grow up with. Pretty cool.

      • Camille (The Original) says:

I’m white and I don’t get the fascination with her hair. I think Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz are just 2 examples of women in Hollywood with far more gorgeous looking hair than Anistons.

  5. Zan says:

These are good pictures, can’t help but like her. Forever rachel green

    • True Dat says:

Agreed she looks great regardless. I do like her look a lot, and she definitely took great care of herself and it shows.

    • crab says:

Me too I think she’s awesome and seems like a really nice person! Her hair is famous because back in the Rachel Greene days women wanted the “Rachel” cut! I think she looks beautiful her make-up doesn’t age her, her hair doesn’t look “arranged”, she’s in great shape and she’s happy! Good for her!

  6. Kaye says:

Eh. She knows what suits her and what feels comfortable, and she goes with it. Can’t fault her for that.

  7. Tifygodess24 says:

I don’t understand all the hate over her hair. Celebrities and non celebrities alike wear their hair just like hers everyday. And really how many of us change it up ? Or do something totally crazy? Hair is a personal thing and a security blanket for many people. They choose to wear it the way they feel most comfortable and there is nothing wrong with that. If that’s what she likes so what, does it really matter that she’s a celebrity? Now the whole no shampoo thing I just can’t get into. I have read about the whole no poo movement and people swear by it but I can’t seem to get past it mentally. I would feel dirty after a while even if I really wasn’t.

    • Emma - the JP Lover says:

@Tifygodess24, who wrote: “I don’t understand all the hate over her hair. Celebrities and non celebrities alike wear their hair just like hers everyday. And really how many of us change it up?”

Is there really ‘hate’ over her hair or just people ‘commenting’ about her hair?

    • Zwella Ingrid says:

Years ago I would have totally agreed with you. I would have really grossed me out not to shampoo my hair everyday. I’m not on board with any celebrity endorsed trend, but on my own I have found that since I am in my 50’s, my hair is thin and fine. If I wash it everyday its like fluffy with no body or definition. It looks much better going 2-3 days without washing. The oil in my hair is restored and gives it better control and definition. I do give in after that and wash it because I worry that it might start to get an oily odor. It also tends to get too oily after so many days. I do tend to want to shampoo after a workout though. My head sweats a lot, and it would be gross quickly.

    • LAR says:

My hair is super curly and dry. Too much shampooing strips it and makes it like straw. I do rinse it with hot water daily, but I only shampoo if I feel product build up or am particularly gross/sweaty.

    • WillowS says:

Yeah, she gets a lot of criticism for not changing up her hair but I’d say most people over a certain age don’t alter their hairstyle that often. My sister has had the same medium length hairstyle for the past 10 years and even though every now and then I get several inches chopped off I always go back to my default style (blonde highlights, about 2 inches below the shoulder and parted to the side). Yeah, it’s boring but that’s how I feel the most comfortable. When I was in my teens and early 20’s I experimented with different hairstyles and colors on a regular basis but at this point I don’t have the interest or inclination to bother (plus while purple hair can look cute on a 19 year old it does not work on someone in their early 40’s!).

I wish I could skip shampoo for a day or two but I tried and it just doesn’t work for me. I exercise daily and have oily, fine hair so it looks terrible if I don’t wash it.

  8. Emma - the JP Lover says:

Does wearing extensions affect your ‘shampoo’ schedule? If so, then it explains why she doesn’t shampoo after a workout.

    • lisa2 says:

I don’t have a problem with her hair.. but I wonder about her not admitting that she her hair is full of extensions. So how does that equate to the hair product.

She should incorporate that into her sell. Tell people that it is great for fake hair. That it makes it look more natural.

    • lisa2 says:

I said earlier.. I’m a black girl.. and we have a WHOLE different thing about washing hair

    • CG says:

I’m like Kaiser, I get SUPER sweaty working out. My hair is completely drenched, so if I didn’t wash it after leaving the gym, it would be really nasty.

    • Esmom says:

My rule about washing my hair after a workout is if it hasn’t touched a mat then I’ll skip washing it. But if I lay down for an ab workout or something and there’s a chance my hair touched the ground or the mat, then the thought of all the germs send me straight to the shampoo. I agree that sweat alone in your hair isn’t dirty or gross.

    • Bridget says:

I run 5-6 days a week and if I were to wash my hair every single time I got sweaty it would be completely stripped of all its natural oils. So instead I ‘wash’ it with conditioner. If there’s any sweat residue it’s just a little salt, and that’s exactly the same thing as putting in some beach spray. No big deal.

    • sills says:

No, I just rinse the roots with warm water and I’m good to go. I don’t like to wash my hair every day either, it gets too dry.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I wait to shower until after I work out, so if my hair got really sweaty, I wash it. If not, I don’t unless it needs it anyway.

Btw, I’m sort of embarrassed to admit this, but I tried the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day shampoo and conditioner, and it’s good. It doesn’t keep my hair any cleaner longer than other good shampoo, though.

    • Tulip Garden says:

      @goodnames,
Don’t be ashamed, a good product is a good product! Someone on CB recommended the root lifter for me and I love it and the hair serum.

    • Emma - the JP Lover says:

@GoodNamesAllTaken, who wrote: “Btw, I’m sort of embarrassed to admit this, but I tried the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day shampoo and conditioner, and it’s good. It doesn’t keep my hair any cleaner longer than other good shampoo, though.”

Why should you be embarrassed to admit this? It’s hard to find a product that really works like we want it to. If Living Proof works, then good for you! 🙂

  9. Greek Chic says:

I don’t want to defend her but when you give interview to a site like fashionista you are going to talk about hair, fashion and make up and not about your life or world problems…
She has given many interviews about hair, I get that, but I have not problem with that.
I like hair advice from Gisele too.

  10. MrsBPitt says:

Anniston would never do a Pixie cut or do a “trendy” platinum color……WHEW, now I can sleep tonight!!!!!

  11. Melibea says:

her hairstylist must be really frustrated, lol

  12. lisa2 says:

I curious about what work products she has coming up if any. I don’t think she has announced any new work products. I would imagine she did all that hustle for more than the Oscar.

The hair talk is really nothing new. She has said all of this over and over and over again. Where is the work/movie offers that came from her performance in that film.

    • Lily says:

She probably is not getting the offers/roles she wanted/expected.
She must not understand that one dramatic role, once a decade, does not suddenly make you Oscar worthy.

Also Cake failed to make even 2 million even though she campaigned like there was no tomorrow for that. Life of Crime made even less. Horrible Bosses did way less then the 1st one. All prove she is not a box office draw.
Studios want people that make them money. She can’t in films she headlines.

  13. Maya says:

breaking news – Jennifer talking about her hair products.

Here I thought Jennifer wanted to change public’s perception of her and the hollywood peers to take her seriously.

Talking about your hair while shamelessly promoting your products, publishing naked/half naked pictures of yourself with a man is not the way to do it Jennifer.

Jennifer & Chris have the same chemistry as Jennifer & Justin – in other words, zero chemistry. Maybe that’s why Jennifer said that Justin is like one of her gay friends.

But I have to agree on never to cut her hair really short – I won’t do it either personally. But darkening her hair will make her look younger and make her features more feminine in my opinion.

PS: I think Jennifer realised that she went too far with her desperate awards campaign where she talked about a dead man, name dropped her friends, brought up the triangle several times. It’s good she has been laying low for a while.

Can someone tell me what’s next for her career wise? I haven’t heard any news about any future roles. Although I would love to see a we’re the Millers sequel – that movie was funny and Jennifer has always been a talented comedic actress.

    • Lily says:

I can not understand her saying Justin is like a gay friend to her! She says such stupid things most of the time.
Not a way most men want to be described by their wife/girlfriend.

Her campaign was the most desperate in years & at least she can’t be called an Oscar nominated actress. I am sure she would request to be called that in every interview.

And she has no future roles. Silence. She has typecasted herself, and there are more talented actresses that get the good roles, she gets leftovers.

      • Maya says:

I agree about the gay thing. I would be pretty insulted if my husband said I was like on of his lesbian friends and my husband will pretty much question our marriage of I said he was like one of my gay friends.

Unless Jennifer is her usual subtle way is telling the world that Justin gay????

      • Lady D says:

I’d like to nominate AnnE Hathaway for ‘most desperate campaign in years. Now that was annoying.

      • Beee says:

At least Anne actually had the talent! And did not have to distribute her own film because no one wanted to buy it. And actually got the Oscar in the end, Aniston could not even get the nom.
She also did not bring up dyslexia suddenly after 20 years, or claim her dead ex boyfriend sent her her current partner.

      • Emma - the JP Lover says:

        @Beee …

        Well said, and agreed.

  14. DesertReal says:

I feel like a good cleansing conditioner (like Pantene’s co-wash) is just the ticket after a workout. Just sayin’.

  15. TeaAndSympathy says:

I’m not a fan of JA, but have to agree with the silicon in shampoo thing. That’s exactly what I suffered for years – frizzy, hard, totally unmanageable hair that snapped off and needed daily washing. However, the daily routine was what made my hair so bad. Three years ago I stopped using shampoo altogether. Now I only wash my hair, at most, twice a week. I use a cheap conditioner for washing, as they usually don’t contain silicon and parabens. Then I condition with a product for coloured hair. If I need a little extra conditioning, I rub a minuscule amount of Virgin coconut oil between my hands and apply this to the ends only. My routine is a breeze, nowadays. I have saved so much money on all the products to soften, shine, make hair bouncy, define curls, eliminate frizz etc etc etc… They were, in fact, what made my hair so bad. I also no longer have a bathroom cluttered with half-used lotions, potions, waxes, pomades, oils and all the other products filled with empty promises, and I spend hardly anything on my hair care now! If I get a build-up of hairspray or whatever, I mix 1 part shampoo with 4 parts water, and use this as a clarifying wash, but only every 2-3 weeks. It doesn’t lather much, but lots of lather indicates lots of detergent. I ended up using all my surplus shampoo to wash my undies and woollies! My fine, curly hair has never been in better condition – it’s soft, manageable, shiny and maintains a style for several days, only needing a quick comb-through.

  16. OhDear says:

Aw, I know she seems to be a creature of habit (she’s had the same haircut/style for a while) and knows what she likes, but I kinda wish she would change it up (style-wise) once in a while.

  17. I think the whole “how often should you shampoo” question varies greatly from person to person and product choices. If I do not wash my hair every day it looks like a stringy mess, but I’ve got straight/fine hair AND oily skin. My bestie has thick curly hair and if she washes her locks more than every other day it looks like (as she puts it) “a demented circus clown wig”. Has anyone here tried Wen? I’m curious about how well it cleans.

    • Christin says:

I have used Wen, and found it OK for short-term use. It gets expensive and I personally did not see impressive results over time. The recommended amount of product per use seems excessive. It does not take long to use a regular size bottle.

However, I have a friend with very short hair who swears by it.

      • Petee says:

I wasn’t really crazy about Wen either. My sister loves it and swears by it so she gave me a bottle a few years ago as a gift.Maybe I am just use to getting a lather right away.I have long hair so it seemed to take a lot of time to me and made my hair flat.

    • Janie says:

Veronica…. My hair must be similar to yours. When it’s short I wash it everyday and if I go out in the evening, I wash it again. My hair is very fine and oily. I’ve thought about Wen also. I may give it a try! As for Jen, she’s like a lot of us… Creature of habit.

    • WillowS says:

I have straight, fine oily hair and Wen did not work for me. It made my hair even limper and flatter than what it normally is. I have two other friends who tried it-one who has medium textured, oily straight hair and one who has thick, wavy hair (she has the best head of hair of anyone I know). The friend with the medium, oily hair hated Wen but the friend with the thick, wavy hair loves it and continues to use it.

    • Amelia says:

I’ve used Wen for about three years and I love it. I admit I use about half of what they say to use. I have very fine, slightly wavy hair, but I have a lot of it. I’ve worn it very long forever. About six weeks ago, I cut it very short, like Robin Wright’s style. I don’t think Wen is for everyone, but I do think if you stick with it and modify the amount you use, it will usually work very well. I also love their pomade and root lift. What I notice now is if I use regular shampoo, my hair feels absolutely stripped. My hairdresser says my hair is in great shape, and I do wash every day.
In order to stay on topic, here is my opinion on JA: I wish she’d show her natural curly hair in its natural darker color sometime. I think it’s quite attractive. The highlighted blonde beach look is fine but doesn’t she ever get bored?

  18. lucy2 says:

I just looked it up – the 3 scientists involved are actually legit MIT scientists. I get the impression that these shampoos and stuff were maybe some sort of byproduct of other research they were doing.

I’ve tried it and I really liked it (it’s crazy expensive so I’m waiting for another coupon from Ulta to get more), my hair felt really soft, but I definitely can’t go a couple of days without washing it. I’d say every other day at most, and by the end of the 2nd day it definitely needed to be washed.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I agree. I said above that I really liked it, but it doesn’t keep my hair any cleaner for longer than anything else.

    • Granger says:

I use regular ol’ shampoo and I wash every three days and my hair looks (and feels) great. Frankly, I think how often you need to wash your hair has less to do with your shampoo than with your hair, but of course JA can’t say that, because she has a product to sell. 🙂

    • lucy2 says:

Generally you’re probably right, Granger, but I can notice a difference with different products for my hair. I used to use Pantene all the time, but over time I could NOT go more than 24 hours without washing my hair. Years later I’ve since tried all different kinds of more earth-friendly ones, and some have longer effects, others not so much. Right now I’m using something from Trader Joes and I get a solid 2 days out of it, sometimes 3 if I’m not going anywhere.

  19. Tracy says:

Jennifer knows that she looks awful with her hair pulled back or up. With that jaw, she just can’t do it. She knows what works on her and she needs hair around her face to soften a very aggressive jawline and face shape, whether it seems to drive her crazy or not.

  20. Lily says:

And her fans find her interesting because……….?
Seriously all she talks about is her stupid hair, that is highly overrated. But I can see why it is talked about so much because there is nothing else going on for her at 46. Younger actresses have more going on then her. She is just very shallow.

All she seems to have to talk about is HAIR, let that sink in. Any hobbies? Great trips? Family? Nope, just hair.

    • FingerBinger says:

Since it’s Fashionista magazine I’m guessing you wouldn’t talk about ISIS or immigration.

      • Lily says:

Uh, does she ever talk about anything of substance with any outlet?
She talks about her hair all the time.
She might not even know who ISIS is! She seems to only care about herself.

      • FingerBinger says:

What do you expect her to talk about? Calculus? Nietzsche? If she talked about those things then you’d call her pretentious. If she talks about fashion and hair you call her dumb. She can’t win.

      • Lily says:

Does she ever talk about hobbies? Trips? Family? Books? She never or rarely goes beyond Mexico, seems to only tan on her trips, talks about wanting to travel the world yet doesn’t. talks for years about directing a feature film, but doesn’t. Talks about how babies are coming, then gets mad when someone asks about kids.

If talked about her hair once or twice, that would be one thing, but her hair is the main thing she talks about, which is sad for a 46 year old.

    • ann says:

Lily, when Jennifer talks about trips, she has people like you saying she goes to Mexico too much. If she talked about hobbies, books, news, you’d call her boring. A celebrity gets asked questions about their looks and that’s why she was talking about her hair. The interview wasn’t from Time Magazine, it was Fashionista and hair is part of fashion

      • Beee says:

She would not be as boring if she actually talked about the world or interesting things. She is boring because she talks about her looks non stop.

She has no passion for anything, no causes that she represents on a frequent basis.

Other female celebs manage to talk about other things beyond their looks. They have things going on in their personal lives. Aniston’s personal life looks empty, filled with spa trips, haircuts, & a boyfriend who lives in NYC half the year.

She could only dream of Time magazine interviewing her.

    • Esmom says:

Maybe you missed that she’s connected to the Living Proof company…She’s promoting her product.

      • Beee says:

Except even when she is not promoting her product, she still talks about her average boring hair.
She talks about her hair beyond Living Proof Promotion.

  21. lemon says:

It looks like she went for the “trend” of chunky highlights circa 2004 and held on for dear life.

I freaking love silicone hair products for heat styling. I’ve never had it break. I tried no-poo for a long time but it was such a hassle and my hair always looked greasy unless I used the baking soda “shampoo” which completely stripped it to fuzz. So, now I just wash and heat style twice a week (thank you dry shampoo!) and my hair is soft and silky.

  22. neer says:

I think Jennifer is a boring person to talk to. You will never learn anything substantial from her if one gets to talk to her everyday. She has very limited knowledge on any significant subject or topic to have conversation with. All she knows about is superficiality in life.

I remember, i read in the past about her reply during rape benefit in which she hosted. The guy who asked a question about rape that she didn’t know how to respond to his legitimate question WAS FIRED because she complained about it. Here’s a video of the guy who was fired who relayed what really transpired on 4:42 mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?… I think the guy’s question is appropriate to the setting and circumstance.

What I noticed about her is that every time she’s asked a question that is not normally asked of her, she seems to stutter a lot. She doesn’t know how to organize her thoughts & express them.

    • Lily says:

Yes, why is this not headline news? She is treated with kid gloves.

She got a man fired because he dared to ask her a question of substance rather than a question about her looks.

Brad Pitt stated he was bored in his marriage to Jennifer. Aniston’s homebase is the Hollywood, Malibu, Cabo circuit; sun and fun while hanging out with Hollywood types

Just some of Angelina’s accomplishments outside of the movie making industry: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have donated $1million to US-Iraq war children funds where they will support the education of almost 8,000 affected children. she has received a Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.

In an effort to connect to her Cambodian-born son with his heritage, Jolie purchased a house in his country of birth in 2003. The traditional home sat on 96 acres in the province Battambang, adjacent to Samlout national park in the Cardamom mountains, which had become infiltrated with poachers who threatened endangered species. Ms. Jolie then purchased the park’s 231 miles and turned the area into a wildlife reserve named for her son, the Maddox Jolie Project. In recognition of her conservation efforts, King Norodom Sihamoni awarded her Cambodian citizenship on July 31, 2005

In November 2006, Jolie expanded the scope of the project—renamed the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation (MJP)—to create Asia’s first Millennium Village, in accordance with UN development goals. She was inspired by a meeting with the founder of Millennium Promise, Jeffrey Sachs, at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Ms. Jolie was an invited speaker in 2005 and 2006. In 2005 MTV filmed while following Angelina Jolie and Dr. Jeffrey Sachs in Africa, on a trip to a Millennium Village in western Kenya. By 2007, 6,000 villagers and 72 employees—some of them former poachers employed as rangers—lived and worked at MJP, in ten villages previously isolated from one another. The compound includes schools, roads, and a soy milk factory, all funded by Jolie. Her home functions as the MJP field headquarters.

I don’t think she’s very bright. Not dumb, because you have to have a certain intelligence to act and memorize lines and navigate Hollywood. But she seems ill informed and not interested in the world around her.

I Wash my hair every 2 weeks. And dye it every month so only once between dyes. If I wash it too much my blonde gets yellow and colour looks cheap/fake. My hair does not get greasy anymore. (Read up on ” no poo”) But I do have dry shampoo just in case. Don’t need any in the winter though.

    • twink says:

Have you tried a purple shampoo to reduce brassiness and to avoid hair from becoming yellow? I wash my hair only once a week, I tried pushing it to 10 days but I couldn’t, I’m jealous you’re able to go for 2 weeks.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! Jennifer Aniston talks about her hair and Angelina talks about world peace!!! I would have left her too!!!

      • Lauren says:

Jen amazes me – everyone thinks she is dim witted and boring – including myself.

Somehow she is rich and famous, despite her manface – which puzzles me.

I admit Jen impressed me with her dancing skills in Along Came Polly.
Although, Phillip Seymour Hoffman stole that movie. He was the only reason I didn’t walk out of the theatre many years ago. Phillip is the embodiment an Actor. Brilliant and funny.

    • ann says:

This was from Fashionista. Hair is something they talk about, not world peace

      • Lily says:

But the thing is Aniston never talks about anything of substance in an interview with any outlet. Points of conversation for her are: hair, body, yoga, Mexico, tan, dead exes, non existent but soon coming babies.

    • lisa2 says:

OH GOD.. please leave Angie out of this. Just gives some people an excuse to be negative about her. She has nothing to do with this topic.

      • ann says:

Angie fans can turn anything into anti Aniston. Rediculous.

      • lisa2 says:

I’m an Angie fan.. and I’m not turning anything to anything.
Not fair to wave such a brush on all the JP fans. But never do it in reverse. Because JA fans do the same to AJolie all the time.

      • Beee says:

        Ann…pot meet Kettle.
Aniston fans all the time turn things into anti-Angelina.

They are so crazy that they claim the recent pics of B&A at their daughter’s soccer game is staged & that there in fact was no soccer game going on at all, nevermind the pics of other soccer players!

  25. NeoCleo says:

A pixie cut on her would be awful. Her face is too masculine.

  26. Pandy says:

I wouldn’t want to see her in a pixie but I think she could pull off a platinum color.

  27. lisa2 says:

I was thinking.. and this is not just about Jennifer Aniston. But I wonder if the fact that these actresses are spending a lot of time talking about their side projects if it is in some way affecting them professionally acting wise. I mean if you look at all the women that are promoting websites, or other interest many of them are not doing as well with the acting part of their profession. Look at Paltrow. When she started wanting to be a singer and now web owner she seemed to fall short on acting roles. Same with Jessica Alba.. now she was never a big acting talent but she was working and she was someone that people talked about. Jennifer Garner too on some level. yes she works a lot, but I saw her the other day on the Today show and she was cute talking about her mother and sister; but the promotion of her film was lost on that part about her being happy to do a photoshoot with her family for a magazine. She does lots of movies’ but I still feel like her acting has become her side job and her interest in things MOMMY has become her first job.

I know there are several male actors that have side business interest. But notice how those are not promoted the same way as the women do with theirs. It just feels different. I wonder if there is maybe a backlash on it in some sense. Because they; the women usually use their time when promoting their film to also promote their side business. It feels like they are mixing their personal with their work and trying to capitalize on it. That could be a smart thing; but I wonder if the Powers in Hollywood frown on it in a way. Because all these women I mentioned and others are not doing as well in the business that got them the opportunities for the second business.

I think it is smart to have something in back up. But listening to Jennifer A and Jennifer G and others talk about opportunities to get work and how it is “their turn” I see they all still want to be a force in acting/Hollywood. It just seems like their other brand is overshadowing what they say they want. Same with Jessica Simpson. She makes money in her fashion; but she started in music.. and that is not going anywhere although she says she wants to do new music.

Just my rambling thoughts on this.

    • jen2 says:

I think JA is a better business woman than actress and I think that her endorsements are her primary gig and that acting is secondary. Most really successful actors don’t have as many endorsements as she has and that is where a great deal of her success lies. Some do one or two then move on, but her’s are long term, which makes me think that is what she wants. That and house flipping. She knows and understands her brand(s) and works harder to promote them and make sure they stay successful. Hopefully, she realizes she can’t be Rachel forever or try and keep trying to re-make herself (and not be successful at it) and has found something else that works for her.

Paltrow and Lively have become life style people, Alba has her children’s company and Simpson has clothing. Their other jobs in acting or music are not as lucrative or offer opportunities or are on a downward slope, so they , like Aniston, have found what works best for them and I applaud them for that. So, to me, all of these folks see acting/music as secondary and the products for them are primary.

      • ilovesunnydaze says:

Disagree. She does lots of low budget film work. The pay is great and it allows her to do other things because she’s not one dimensional. We actually dont know that much about her personally because she is very private. But film is her number one interest. I think she’ll be around for awhile.

      • ju says:

Aniston is not private at all. Her pr team has People mag on speed dial to tell them all about her latest dinner or spa visit.

She does low budget films because no one would trust her with a big budget film, Cake could not even make 2 million after her endless media parade.

She is extremely one dimensional & has not changed in the last 10 years. Same acting, same Pr games, same hair, same orange tan.

    • Peggy says:

As women get older the roles dry up.
Paltrow only got a role in Ironman, because she is friends with RDJr, that is why she started goop, now she is attending the opening of envelopes.
Jennifer is too old for romantic comedies (Meg Ryan) four bombs in a row, Cake did not even make 2 million.
A good thing Jessica Alba business is successful, her acting is not good.

      • perplexed says:

Yeah, I’ve noticed this happens when they’re older (unless they’re completely untalented like Alba, who started her branding when she was much younger). Even someone “respected” like Natalie Portman was trying to sell vegan shoes. I’m really perplexed by Paltrow since she had movie acting opportunities to capitalize on in her 20s, but…the GOOP stuff does seem to bring in more money for her than acting does.

Jane Fonda is an Oscar winner, but she was hawking exercise DVDs in the 1980s. For women that’s probably what you wind up doing to both keep income coming in and to give you something to do if you’re not having financial problems (it would be boring to do nothing all day.)

      • lisa2 says:

I think all that is true. But you don’t see male celebrities doing that. George Clooney does it more than most.
Brad Pitt has his wine and furniture line; but he doesn’t talk about either much. And certainly not as the main topic when promoting something; unless and interviewer brings it up; but again he is not out there with it front and center.

I said it is smart to have something on the side; my point is I wonder if Hollywood or people that are casting and casting parts are seeing these women as assets or not. It’s just that the men have other ventures; but they don’t drive their narrative the way it is with the women

      • lucy2 says:

I don’t think there’s as much a difference in who is doing what, pretty much every actor/actress has some sort of endorsement deal, but in how we learn about it. Your average supermarket checkout line is probably 85% “women’s” magazines, as are the publications covered by celebrity blogs, so I think we hear about the women’s outside ventures more as a result.

    One dimensional vapid brain with her it’s discussing her hair or N O T H I N G….

Eh, it’s Jen. A woman whose whose hair is 70% of her personality. No, I am not bowled over by her, ever. But I don’t hate her at all. Her life is being HER, so whatevs. MIT is doing hair stuff now..hmmmmm.

  30. loca says:

Call me crazy but what business owner or co-owner does not promote their product. People and celebitchy are reading way too into this. The interview is to discuss her shampoo product and how it is formulated. While people like to compare her accomplishments, she does and has devoted her time to charities for cancer and Saint Jude. I wouldn’t call her strictly self involved and she knows how to treat people around her.

    • Beee says:

Her work with St. Jude seems to involve filming a commercial a couple times a year. She also never seems to promote their work in interviews or know what happens to the children in her commercials.
It is not that she is promoting the product, it is that she is talking about her hair once again.

She has talked about her hair for years, long before Living Proof. She talks about her hair & body, and not much else.Oh wait, she complains about the tabloids that her pr team promotes.

  31. ashley says:

The lighter my hair gets (i’ve been going blonder recently), the longer i can go without washing, even while working out. The past few weeks though I haven’t worked out much and have been going a week at a time without shampooing/using dry shampoo. I’m dissgguusstttinngggg

  32. Katie says:

She’s had the same hai rstyle for how many years now?

  33. Camille (The Original) says:

Yes she should go a darker brunette shade and no, she should never, ever cut her hair above chin length. She doesn’t have the facial features to carry that off.

    • Rylan says:

She cut her hair to a chin length bob, I forget which season of Friends it was, but she looked TERRIBLE. It really did bring out her masculine chin. She looked so much better as she grew it out. I am a big Jen fan but also admire Angelina for her selflessness.

  34. Jordan says:

    She’s BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

  35. serena says:

She’d look really good with a bob, If I’m not mistaken she kind of did some years ago, she had a bob and black glasses and looked really good and fresh. The beachy weaves.. not so much.
She should go a tad lighter, not platinum.. god no, but I don’t think she’ll look younger with brown hair. Her skin is not great so a medium colour is the best, maybe a more ash-y blonde or a very light brown? I dunno.

  36. agreed+ says:

MIT for launching the project of Living Proof hair blah thing w/ J Anniston.
LSE for launching the Women, Peace and Security studying center w/ A Jolie.

    Interesting…

  37. nani says:

AGAIN HER HAIR? ISN’T IT ENOUGH? OH, GOD!

  38. LaurieH says:

Jennifer Aniston is one of those women who keep the same hair color and variation of the same haircut forever. It’s boring.

  39. Pompasaurus says:

Ugh, I thought her hair was cute in Friends, but it has looked nothing but over-processed and fried ever since; particularly these days.

  40. Isabelle says:

I really like Living Proof products & yes it works for me. My oily hair can go days without needing a wash. However, so sick of Aniston representing this brand, IMO her hair isn’t that great anymore, just normal soccer mom hair. Think of her when I purchase this brand & there is a bit of shame.

  41. Amanda says:

    Stupid white girl bs.

    • mytbean says:

I’m going to assume “white girl bs” is trolling but I’ll take the bate by, at the very least, changing the subject.

I bought Living Proof before I even knew that JenAss was promoting it. I could care less what she says or what she promotes. I actually stumbled across the line when the restore mask came in a multiple sample kit with Sephora.

History – I have roots/gray that I dye brown every few months. I also have prominent breakage around the front. I have curly-ish (schitzo) hair that I straighten using one swipe of the iron on mid-level heat and then set by letting it cool on large velcro rollers. I wash once a week at most and use Argon oil on the ends. My hair is actually nice when it’s healthy and I’ve tried to grow it out but it gets so much breakage and dead ends that I end up chopping it all off after about six months. Even after using high-end products like Kerestase, eventually I end up cutting it.

One serving of the Living Proof restore mask and my hair was shiny again. And this was ALL I used… my shampoo was cheap Suave in strawberry scent and I didn’t use any other conditioner. My dead ends were still there as I needed a trim. But I saw a difference in how my hair looked immediately. It was just shiny and thicker and not frizzy around the edges. One use. That’s saying a lot to me. I’m going to give the line a shot… as I’ll pay good money if I see results that fast.

  42. ann says:

Could somebody please tell me what happened with her perfume line?

  43. Crumpet says:

“Silicone is a culprit in most shampoos. Over time, it builds up and turns into a hard coating and it cracks and breaks and snaps your hair.”

*snicker* Silicone is a natural oil. It does not morph into cement over time, nor is it possible for it to ‘build’ up.

  44. jenn12 says:

Well, she’s right about platinum hair. It looks good on very few people; you need a specific type of complexion that works with it. It often looks really yellow. And it wouldn’t work on her. I think too many women think blond is their color, and it isn’t true. It looks unnatural on many people (men included). A warm brown or chestnut looks better. Love the pixie cut, but you need a terrific bone structure to pull it off.
