I don’t understand why so many of Madonna’s Instagrams are such poor quality. Huh. Anyway, Madonna and Ellen DeGeneres have been making news all week, I guess. I’ve been ignoring it, but I guess I can’t anymore. Madonna appeared on The Ellen Show to shill her album, and wouldn’t you know? Justin Bieber also stopped by. Just so Madonna could flirt with him. In this clip, Ellen, Justin and Madge played “Never Have I Ever.”
It was cute. Madonna and Justin sort of treated each other gently, right? And Madonna’s voice seems especially soft these days. Not that she’s ever been shrill or a screamer or anything, but she definitely seems… softer, right?
Meanwhile, Madge did Us Weekly’s 25 Things You Don’t Know About… feature this week. Us Weekly has only revealed a preview, but it’s already making headlines. Madge says she’s never met Pres. Obama, she’s sick of “Material Girl,” she hates mushrooms, and she loves Drake. She told Us Weekly: “The lifelong ambition I still want to fulfill is to go on a dream date with Drake – and only kiss him.”
Last thing: Madonna finally commented on the ongoing Dolce & Gabbana controversy. She used to be the face of Dolce & Gabbana and she’s been close to the designers for years. She posted one of her old D&G campaign photos with this message:

That “fan” is some troll who gets into a lot of events and does things it turned out. So it wasn’t some heartfelt hand her the flowers. He thought it was funny.

I wasn’t aware that the fan was that person–good to know and thank you. However–I’m not sure it changes my opinion about her behavior toward him. They are seaparate events and issues. He didn’t attack her at all or do anything negative to her, did he? (If he did …I’m unaware and please correct me). She muttered snarkishly to the person next to her about a gift — and the mics picked it up. It was rude. You can loathe a flower all you want, but if a stranger gives you flowers, you smile and say thank you. You don’t snark to the person sitting next to you. It isn’t the fact she loathes the darn flower….its the face she felt compelled to minimize them and the person who gave them to her…..and did so to another human.

Yeah, I finally gave in and downloaded her album to my ipod and I’ve been eating crow ever since… I said she was done and finished and I’m never buying another album… But, WOW. This is a very, very good album. Very solid. There’s only 2-3 tracks that are “meh” but the rest are really good. And the interviews she’s been giving lately have been spot-on.
Someone here said it first and said it perfectly: “Dammit, Madonna!”

I agree. There’s about three cheesy/cringey songs. But out of 19 songs that’s not bad. There’s many beautiful songs on there and some fun club tracks. Then a few cringey songs I just deleted or skip. This is a great album to get on the treadmill to because it goes by fast.
There’s a lot more mid-tempo ballads than people realize where Madonna really opens up.
I love it. Has some crazy modern beats but also some old school Take a Bow style Madonna.
The mere thought of that pairing made me vom a little.

I saw that yesterday. Ellen was funny with the questions and paddles for all of them.
Ellen is having Madonna on every day for a short fun interview and Madonna is singing a song every day through Friday. Here’s the ballad she performed acoustically yesterday. Ellen wanted her to sing this one as it’s one of her favorites off the album. I liked her dress. I thought Madonna sounded really lovely on the song. She was still sick Tuesday with a cold when she performed Living for Love. Ghosttown and Hold Tight and Wash Over Me and Heartbreak City are my favorites. I hope she performs those this week.

This is more of her calculated PR shtick: link yourself with any hot young act popular with the kids right now in order to be relevant with said kids. Marketing BS 101. Notice how she hashtags her album with every Instagram post?
The earliest one I remember was Madonna collaborating with Britney (Me Against The Music), which led to that stunt queen kiss with both Britney and Christina at the VMAs. It seemed as if she was trying to suck the youth out of them. Then later she worked with Justin Timberlake. Then she had both Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. performing with her at that Super Bowl Halftime show. I’m sure there were others I missed. Last year, she sang with Miley Cyrus on MTV Unplugged, grinding against her, both of their thirsty little tongues sticking out like they were two dogs locked in a hot car. Now, it’s her shout out to Drake and her moment with perpetual boy Bieber.
This cougar (sabretooth?) has gotta stay hip with the teens. You’d think her emotional maturity would have evolved beyond needing that. Yo, don’t forget to wear those grillz, Madge, cause you know that’s so dope. RME.
OMG, how cute. Madonna and Ellen recorded a bathroom concert singing Dress You Up. I love that song. It’s a sneak peak of their performance that Ellen will air today or tomorrow. And I think Ellen is hinting on her site that Madonna will sing Take a Bow and Cherish Friday. I adore Take a Bow. I’ve never seen Madonna perform either of those songs.
Today will be Ghosttown, the next ballad single off of the new album. It’s probably one of the best songs Madonna has done in years.
