The Mentalist’s Simon Baker has replaced Patrick “The Hair” Dempsey’s two-year reign as the sexiest man on television. Praise it! Simon Baker is gorgeous, and he has that “naughty boy” look that so works. Dempsey has… the hair. Other than the hair, I’ve never gotten the attraction to Patrick Dempsey. Aussie hunk Simon Baker has ended Patrick Dempsey’s two-year reign as the sexiest man on U.S. TV.
Baker’s show The Mentalist became an instant hit when it debuted in America last year (08) and now The Devil Wears Prada star has toppled Grey’s Anatomy doctor Dempsey as TV Guide magazine’s most desired actor.
Dempsey was the publication’s sexiest man on TV two years in row.
Baker’s wife isn’t convinced she’s married to the sexiest guy on TV. He explains, “My wife said to me this morning, ‘I could take a photo of you right now and they might take that title away from you.'”
Also making the new top 10 are David Boreanaz, new dad Matthew Settle and reality TV star Brody Jenner.

As I said last week, I’m totally on board with David Boreanaz. That man is a total sweetheart, and very sexy. But Brody “Epic Douchebag” Jenner? I’d rather get busy with Patrick Dempsey’s flattened groin area than even spend two seconds with Brody Jenner.
I can’t find the complete Top Ten list, so I have no idea if my favorite television boys are on it. Can I get a shout-out to Lost’s Naveen Andrews and Josh Holloway? How about Law and Order: SVU’s Christopher Meloni? And how about the totally underrated Damien Lewis? I totally love the gingers! It’s a real shame the list had to be tainted by Brody Jenner. It screwed the curve.

I have to say, I think he has that x-factor. I normally like dark haired guys but I am willing to make an exception. Read an interview of him recently and he comes across as so down to earth and not wrapped up in his own ego – something which is probably a rarity in celebrity circles.
Preach it. I totally love this show and Simon Baker is AMAZING in it. And hot.
