Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie’s love letters have ‘gone missing’ from Miraval

A few years ago, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were both working at the same time, thousands of miles away from each other. He was in England working on Fury, she was in Australia working on Unbroken. They had broken their “rule” about “never working at the same time,” but after ten years together, I guess they figured they were strong enough as a family to handle it. And they did. They also wrote letters to each other, the old-fashioned way. Not emails. Like, they put pen to paper and wrote each other WWII-esque love letters. Well, according to the National Enquirer/Radar, those letters have been stolen/misplaced!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s most shocking and embarrassing secrets – including details of their marital woes, cheating fears, parenting problems and even drug abuse – may be publicly exposed after the loss of the couple’s personal letters! The sensitive missives were in Pitt’s care at their estate in France and were somehow misplaced during recent renovations, a new report in The National Enquirer reveals.

“Brad went into a panic because he couldn’t find them,” said a close friend of the couple. “He’s terrified that they were lifted by someone who wants to publicly humiliate them.”

The A-list couple’s deeply personal and often contentious correspondence went missing in 2013, when Pitt was filming Fury in England and Jolie was in Australia directing Unbroken, according to the report.

“Late 2013 was the low point in their relationship,” the source explained. The messages included heated arguments about whether they should adopt another baby and how it might affect their suffering sex life, the source claimed. “Brad was open about how he worried that Angie might fall for a woman again, and he even brought up her previous issues with drugs.”

[From Radar]

I’m sure the letters also featured arguments about how Brad is always running away from conflicts so he can cry whilst riding his motorcycle down the lonely road. And of course, the letters also feature fights about:

The Gerbils of Doom
The Leg of Doom
Sack Dresses
Angelina’s Maleficent Horns
Angelina’s Veins
Brad’s Goatee
Brad’s Sunglasses
Jennifer Aniston’s Hair
Shiloh’s Montenegro Style
Maddox’s Girlfriend
R + L = J
The Award-Winning Miraval Rosé
Marijuana
Justin Theroux’s Jorts
Jacques the Bulldog
Angelina’s Preference for ‘70s Style Jewelry
Brad’s Linen Pants

Or… you know, they could just be love letters.

  1. Kiddo says:

Brad Pitt’s black hues match in this photo.

    • doofus says:

AND they match the Maleficent dress…yay!

that list Kaiser wrote is great! Montenegro Style FTW!

and how does that “source” know what was in the letters unless THEY WERE THE ONE WHO TOOK THEM?! Call the papers, I’ve found the thief!

      • Kiddo says:

I think all the letters were about Billy Bob.

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

        @Kiddo
Nope, they were written about Jenny Shimzu….

      • doofus says:

        no, no, no…BBT ghost-wrote Pitt’s letters, and Shimizu ghost-wrote Jolie’s letters.

geez, don’t you ever LISTEN when the gerbils blab?

  2. Abbott says:

Nah. The way these two keep their sh*t locked down, I doubt they’d be so careless.

  3. Falula says:

That would be a really inefficient way to fight.

    • doofus says:

      lmao

    • tracking says:

Exactly, no way they would have written all that messy stuff down! They did have access to phones!

    • Kiddo says:

LOL, so true. By the time they get the letter, you’re no longer pissed.

      • Falula says:

Yes, exactly. If I wrote a letter to my husband when I was mad and handed it to him 4 days later I’m sure I would be so embarrassed about what I had written.

      • Kiddo says:

Yeah, this is how it would go:

Letter from me to BF: You ahole, I can’t believe you ___
Letter from BF to me, unknowing about rage: Love ya
Letter from me to BF in response: Aw. love you too.
Letter from BF to me in response to original letter: YOU bitch!
Letter from me to BF after second letter: Now you’re pissed that I love you?
Letter from me to BF: while you’re there, bring back Belgium chocolate.

        and on and on.

    • Maya says:

That’s why they invented FaceTime/video talking – people can have a go at their partners instantly even if they aren’t in the same continent…

    • lucy2 says:

LOL. A single argument could take weeks.

  4. Virgilia Coriolanus says:

Lol, it’d be funny to see what Brad/Angelina consider to be romantic/dirty talk…..interesting or cringeworthy. Sometimes what you say outloud sounds better on paper, and vice versa.

And in the interest of talking about Angelina’s jewelry line–has anyone looked at her wearing them? In the pictures of them close up, they look gaudy/HUGE stones……but when she’s actually wearing them, they’re a lot smaller.

  5. Franca says:

I hope they won’t get published. I can’t stand love letters, especially someone elses. Yuck.

  6. Lilacflowers says:

Benedict Cumberbatch should be the number one suspect.

Seriously, how does the National Enquirer know the letters were “often contentious” unless someone at the Enquirer read them?

    • Timbuktu says:

Lol, great comment about Cumberbatch. He did work with Brad, was he at their house in 2013? 🙂

  7. ToodySezHey says:

Slow news week=made up b.s. about Brangelina

  8. heidi77 says:

According to the tabs, they have “low points” 24/7/365 in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and, now, 2015. Yet this couple not only stay together, they keep doing amazing, loving things for each other and the world. The supposed content of those letters is ridiculous for any couple, much less one that is clearly so in love and if you can’t believe they love each other, then try logic- the hate for this couple is ridiculous. In over ten years, the press has yet to find ANY dirt on them, despite devoting tons of resources to do so. I’m glad they continue to be dignified and ignore the lies and trash.

    • Crumpet says:

Seriously, they are human beings married to each other. Of COURSE they have their ups and downs. They have even been photographed having squabbles. Who cares?

      • really says:

It IS awful that the media keeps lying about them- instead of celebrating a couple who are not just kind to each other, but to the rest of the world, they attack them with revolting trash. The media is so scared and angry that Brad & Angie are still this successful all without paying for PR- no free pr-written stories for the media to use and/or horse trade. The lack of PR by them really makes them very, very admirable. Photographed having squabbles? That’s not true- a few ambiguous balcony pictures that were used to create more lies. How many couple have broken up since 2005? Tons- jsut not them.

      • Paige says:

Sure, they have fights. Any couple together ten years has had fights. The point is how ridiculous tabloids are with this couple’s relationship and how ridiculous they are will celeb relationships. I’ve seen better fanfiction. They need to stop trying. I doubt they are making any money. Who would spend money on lies? I sure wouldn’t.

      • Tarsha. says:

Last I saw, they were not photographed having a squabble at all, despite some really wanting to believe it is true and posting as if it was an actual fact. To me, embracing (which was in the sequence) is not ‘having a squabble’. I thought we put that fight bs to bed ages ago?

      • Tarsha says:

Last I checked, they were not photographed having an argument. Having an embrace which was part of the photograph sequence, proves there was no argument, only haters cling to that lie. I thought we put to bed the balcony argument bs ages ago?

  9. Maya says:

So these letters went missing in 2013 and it’s now the source talks about it?

As usual – the media writes bs about the Jolie Pitts because frankly they know nothing about them. Brad and Angelina have proven several times that the media is as clueless as the public when it comes to them. More importantly the Jolie Pitts friends and employees are all fiersly loyal which has been proven with the masectomy, wedding and the recent operation Angelina had and yet the media didn’t have a clue.

I find it especially stupid of sites like Radar, National E and DailyMail who constantly try to write liars and bs stuff of this couple just to get hits. More importantly these sites are really so stupid that they have realised how the tide has turned the past few years and that more and more people globally are now on the JPs side.

PS: I will never understand how some people still wish this couple to break up so that they can say serves them right for supposedly cheating. Never mind that they have 6 children as long as Brad & Angelina are not in love, are fighting and not happy – that’s all that counts for these people.

    • Kiddo says:

Meh, don’t get mad, the articles are just page fillers. Like I said above though, if they are going to make sh_t up, they could at least make it more tantalizing and interesting. Radar will milk a story until the teats fall off.

      • Maya says:

Thanks kiddo – not mad just trying to understand people’s mindset when it comes to wanting a family of 8 to break up.

I read gossip for fun and then move on. Unless it’s from the person mouth directly – I won’t believe anything.

  10. naturegirl says:

Hahaha hahaha too too funny I have to laugh they are love letters, not about everything under the sun. Hahahahahaha

  11. lucy2 says:

With all the people in and out of a house doing renovations, I actually could see someone swiping a personal item like that of a celebrity, with the intent to make money on it. But someone who would do that would likely try to sell it immediately to cash in, not wait 2 years and leak a story to the NE. Nonsense.

  12. Kiddo says:

Brad Pit letter to AJ: “It’s not a journey. Every journey ends, but we go on. The world turns, and we turn with it. Plans disappear, dreams take over. But wherever I go, there you are, my luck, my fate, my fortune. Chanel No.5, inevitable,”

AJ letter to Pitt: WTF? Brad, did you run into Matthew McBongohey again? I bet your black shirts and pants don’t match. While you’re there, can you pick up some Belgium chocolate?

    • layla says:

      Cue Balcony:
BP to AJ: It’s not about hugging trees…. it’s not about being wasteful either.

AJ to BP: Stop McConaughey-ing. Pass me that damn cigarette!

      LOVE IT! 😉

  13. Niberia says:

Letters were probably about Jolie whining about not getting any Oscars for that flop she directed. We all know she desperately wanted Best Director this year and campaigned harder then Tom cruise on crack for it.
” Brad, why can’t I get an OSCAUH for Unbroken?! Its a typical Oscar-Bait story and those mean people at the Academy didn’t give me a single nomination , WHAHWHAHAHA!!!”

    • doofus says:

so, she was complaining about not getting an nomination for a movie she was filming at the time the letters were written.

      aren’t you cute.

    • Maya says:

On a budget of 60 million and has so far earned more than 160million globally is not classified as flop.

On please do back up your little tirade about Angelina campaigning harder then the others like Cumberbatch, Jennifer Aniston, Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne etc. who used an engagement, pregnancy, wedding, dead ex boyfriend and dyslexia as campaigning tools.

Last I checked she did a few magazine interviews and 2 talk shows which is the minimal promotion done for a movie.

We get that you dislike Angelina but you cannot change the fact that she is one of the most powerful in Hollywood, her two movies has earned a combined total of almost 1 billion, has been named one of the most influential people in the world. She has a movie out this year with Universal and another movie is ready to be directed which again already been bought by a known distributor. Even Cleopatra proves how hollywood would rather buy/blackmail a multi Oscar winning producer Rudin out of the project and instead keep Angelina. That’s star power no female in Hollywood has except Angelina.

      • really says:

Besides making huge box office, I think Unbroken was the highest budget ever given to a female director (hopefully we’ll see more women get that & more), got three Oscars nominations, and, most importantly, got the film made. No man (or woman) had been able to do so after nearly 60 years of trying- a fantastic achievement by Angelina and so wonderful that Louis finally got his dream to come true.

      • lucy2 says:

The highest budget thing made me curious so I looked into – the $60 million is definitely up there, most female directors seem to do very small films, unfortunately. Kathryn Bigelow’s K-19 did have a $100 million budget, and Jennifer Yuh Nelson had $150m to do Kung Fu Panda 2. She’s also doing #3, odd we never heard about her during all the female director discussions. Nancy Meyers had 2 in the $80-90 million range, but has only done 1 since 2009.
Michelle McLaren should get a good sized budget for Wonder Woman, I hope that helps push the trend too.

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

        @lucy2
Wow, I didn’t know Kathryn Bigelow did K-19…..and I just heard that it was a woman who did the 2nd and 3rd Kung Fu Panda movies…..

      • Nidthea says:

Jolie has two Unsuccessful directorial endeavors under her belt and the public doesn’t like her….Maleficent did well because of Disney, not because of Jolie when an unknown in Cinderella can kick butt in three weeks what Mal did at the end of it’s run…….I read what other’s brought over from reputable sites in the Maleficent discussion thread……50+ percent theater goers were women and 50+ percent were OVER 25 y/o. Jolie’s fandom are aging women. She can’t put butts in the seats for big budgets. She doesn’t bring the youth that go back to the theater for two or three times. She does not bring in New Fans sorry. Also, you think she didn’t campaign? You are delusional then. She has 2 Oscars, but not Best Director or Best Picture. So that argument she already has 2 Oscars, both of which aren’t even as prestigious as BD or BP, is a useless arguement. Unbroken costed more then just 65 million btw. So a profit of 160 for a film that costed more then 65 is not a huge hit sorry.
Cumberbatch, Redmayne, Aniston Witherspoon didn’t campaign nearly 2 years in advance and run a mega expensive Oscar campaign like Jolie did sorry. They campaigned around the time TIFF starts, which is what most Oscar hopefuls do. Not 2 years creating fake buzz and proclaiming themselves to be winners when they weren’t. Nice try bringing them up for no reason too.

      • Tarsha says:

Considering how well Unbroken did at the box office and the good reviews she got for In The Land of Blood and Honey, I’d hardly call ‘unsuccessful’. And where do you get the people don’t like Angelina, is that wishful thinking, because she constantly tops the most admired list and recently voted number one feminist. She is very much liked and internationally respected. Angelina’s fan base are mature women, not fickle teens and the mature fan base are the largest and the ones that stick, they are the ones who are the bums in seats. Many posters here and elsewhere said they’ve seen Unbroken twice, one said she went 4 times! Its irrelevant and a pointless argument to say well her Oscar wasn’t for best picture so therefore it doesn’t count. Er, yes, it does. A Supporting Actress Oscar and a Humanitarian one, in my book carries tonnes more clout than best picture or best whatever. Sorry but Aniston campaigned for a lot longer and a lot harder than Angelina ever did, that’s just reality.

    • Tarsha says:

The letters are from 2013. So bad try. If she really wanted an Oscar, she would have campaigned harder. She barely campaigned, so clearly she didn’t care. She already has 2 anyway. Many don’t even have one. The only people who care are her haters. She clearly didn’t care about it.

      • Nidthea says:

She barely campianged? Well lets see, she started the Oscar buzz before a single scene was shot, she hired Tony Agolotti, who is a Oscar campaign stratagiest back in 2013, she aired a trailer for Unbroken in early 2014, she did multiple interviews with LZ before he died and she did a Vanity Fair cover where she proclaimed herself to be a Best Director contendor when no Oscar noms were even given. Who proclaims themselves and their films to be Oscar contenders when no reviews or any news of the film had come out at the time? Come on cut the bull.

      • Tarsha says:

The studio hired Aglotti, she didn’t, and her interviews with LZ were not Oscar campaign related. Also she herself has never proclaimed herself to be a Best Director contender, that is false. The fact of the matter is that she barely campaigned. She did the bare minimum. She didn’t do interviews about past marriages or dead exes or engagements. Her interviews were solely about the movie, and even then they were few and far between. That is the reality.

  14. Ennie says:

I bet their letter are not so X-rated, they probably thought of their children eventually reading them, so…
I think those tabloids have some intern making a list of “things we haven’t made up yet” about the JPs, and they go from there, and then they recycle stuff.

  15. viki says:

Love letters?! Hahaha….I’m sure Benedict Cumberbatch stole them so he can read them at next years Letters Live!!
Good way to make money 🙂

  16. Wrong..wrong..wrong. The letters were about me, I finally became embarrased that they were obsessing over me, and I took the letters.

  17. Izzy says:

If the letters are contentious and about their squabbles, exactly how do they qualify as “love letters”? Am I missing something? Or has the definition of a love letter changed since I was a kid? (I do not think that phrase means what Radar thinks it means…)

    • lisa2 says:

YOU are applying Common Sense.. something most people don’t use when reading gossip.. even if you don’t like someone let Common Sense rule the day.

    • doofus says:

props for the Inigo Montoya ref.

  18. Catelina says:

Wow, the lack of actual brangelina gossip must be hurting the tabs for them to be printing stuff like this.

  19. Brasileira says:

    Pardpn my ignorance but, what does R + L = J mean? 🙁

  20. Flower says:

……or you know the stolen letter story may all be BS.

  21. SnarkGirl says:

If the story is true, it’s really sad. I have all the letters from my husband’s Navy days and I would be heartbroken if they were lost or stolen.

And, again if it is true, I hope the letters are returned. Gossip is one thing, but to publish intimate love letters is simply wrong, and a horrible invasion of privacy.
