The MTV Movie Awards were held last night and I was surprised to see that some big-name celebrities actually came out. The awards show last year was actually kind of pathetic in its turnout, but I guess enough celebrities wanted to promote their summer movies to the kidz this year, so they all came out. You can see the list of winners here – it was a big night for Shailene Woodley and The Fault In Our Stars.
So, let’s talk fashion! Jennifer Lopez won an award for “Best Scared As Sh-t Performance” for The Boy Next Door. Jennifer knew she was going to win too, which is why she came out in the first place. She wore this absolutely killer Versus Versace suit/minidress thing. She looks amazing, right? I mean, I’m a J.Lo apologist so I generally think she’s glamorous, but she looked especially great last night.
Amy Schumer wore Balmain on the red carpet. A lot of people are complaining about Amy’s raunchy, awkward performance as host. I’ve seen a few of her stand-up specials and I consider her an acquired taste. You have to sit there and watch for about ten minutes before you get into the rhythms of her comedy. My point? Her comedic brand was never going to work well as a host of a major awards show. As for the raunch… eh. It is what it is. The world rewards Kevin Hart for being raunchy, but Amy Schumer?
Anna Camp and Rebel Wilson were there to promote Pitch Perfect 2. I love Anna and her Peter Pilotto dress was cute. Rebel Wilson wore what was possibly the best dress she’s ever worn. I can’t find the ID for it, but it looks very Tom Ford-ish, right? It’s not Tom Ford though.
Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara presented together and skipped the red carpet. Reese wore Mugler and Sofia wore Noam Hanoch. Both looked fine, I’m not sure why they skipped the red carpet.

J Lo has an amazing body and face. So yes, she looks amazing. But boring, too in a way, because her looks are all interchangeable. Boobs? Check. Short skirt or high slit? Check. Tiny waist? Check. Her fashion just bores me to death.

She has a great body. But she looks like she is suffering from either a bad sinus attack or just woke up and is hungry. Eyes half shut, mouth open to get a breath or some food. She has been doing this for a long time, so she should at least look more alert.

First thing I noticed too! No pantyhose anymore, but whole bottles of tanner are “in” now?

She’s so beautiful. But that fiercely glamorous face would be more appropriate after being rear-ended on PCH –her neck hurts, she’s late to meet the boy toy, and she’s furious her bumper’s dinged.

I think everyone looks good here. I love Amy’s dress and the pop of pink in Rebel’s cape lining is fabulous.

Jennifer Lopez is truly beautiful, but I just don’t want to see her crotch; I’m all for a mini, but a few more inches would have been better. Her legs are amazing, she just doesn’t have to try that hard. And now, if she would only stop doing the “Aren’t I sexy” squint! What is it about her squinting when being photographed? She looks lovely when she just has a normal relaxed face, but she always does this thing that someone just have told her looked sexy with her eyes. She just looks silly. Loved everything else about her.
Someone also needs to tell Amy Shumer that there’s nothing wrong with her weight, but she can’t wear a mini…she just can’t. Thick legs and wide knees draw attention from an otherwise really nice look. Same with Rebel Wilson– be whatever weight you want, girl, but leave the minis for girls with prettier legs.
Reese looked terrific, and I give her credit for even being willing to stand next to Sophia Vergara, although I wish the crossed-feet-because-I’m-desperately-trying -to-look-narrower stance would finally die. It always looks very tortured and just draws attention to someone’s insecurities. On anyone shorter than 5’10”, it just looks likes you have to go to the bathroom…
Maybe Amy likes her legs and wants to wear a mini. Who are you to say she shouldn’t? People need to get over themselves and stop telling other people what they can/cannot wear based on KNEE WIDTH for Christ’s sake.

I don’t know, I find the IDGAF ness refreshing; it’s nice to see people wear what they want. I’m ecstatic to see a bigger gal wear a mini instead of a poofy ballgown to cover everything up. She looks confident and it shines through. I have no idea who Amy Shumer is, but I think she looks good. People can’t help their natural body types, why should she eschew minis forever if she wants to wear them? She isn’t disproportionate, anyway, she just doesn’t have Reese Witherspoon’s legs. They look perfectly normal.
Except there is nothing wrong with Amy Schumer’s legs. The only difference is that her legs are thicker than the average Hollywood startlet, but her figure and legs look great.
I agree with the other commenters…I am a young, healthy woman who naturally has toned, thick and muscular legs and I for one love the. Those wide knees and thighs help me do strength exercises and use weights more efficiently and hell, I think they look fab. I also LOVE and OFTEN wear mini dresses and shorts. so leave me, amy and the muscular legged girls alone and stop complaining at the sights of our awesome legs 😉

Nobody likes being told what they should wear or that we’re too old for this or that, but there is still something to be said for “age-appropriate”. It’s called class. JLo may be banging, but classy she is not.
