Kelly Osbourne ‘is dead to’ Giuliana Rancic after her latest comments dissing her

I haven’t been following the ongoing back and forth in the Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic feud. We’ve seen Kelly have public beefs and actual fights with many celebrities while Giuliana has been somewhat gracious (shocking, I know) whenever she’s disagreed with or called out someone.

So, in my mind, Kelly is probably the one causing and perpetuating this fight. That does seem to be the case, as Kelly gave an interview last week to People Magazine in which she went on about Giuliana’s Fashion Police comments about Zendaya. I’m not going to do a full recap on the controversy, you probably know the details. Giuliana discussed it again during her book tour, saying that she never meant for the Zendaya dread comments to be racist, that her words were taken out of context and that no one on the Fashion Police set warned her not to say that.

Kelly tweeted “Liars ALWAYS get caught!” right around the time that Giuliana was making those claims, and everyone knew what she was referring to. Then Kelly went on to People about it. She said, in part “Giuliana is not often wrong. She really isn’t, but it’s been really, really heartbreaking to see her behavior that has transpired when she did get caught being wrong. That’s what broke my heart.” She also claimed that “There’s been so much drama surrounded by what went on at Fashion Police that I have chosen to keep quiet about,” which belies belief. If Kelly is pissed off at something or someone, she will tweet and complain about it incessantly.

A new article in US quotes a “source” (Giuliana) who claims that Kelly “is dead to” Giuliana now. It’s all very Corleone, but I don’t blame Giuliana. Kelly quit the show and made such a stink about Giuliana’s comments, which she apologized for. Kelly should have dropped it. Here’s more:

Sources reveal in the new issue of Us Weekly that Giuliana Rancic believes her former friend and Fashion Police co-host Kelly Osbourne didn’t have her back after she made controversial on-air remarks about Disney star Zendaya Coleman — and she’s still fuming. Says an insider: “Kelly is dead to Giuliana.”

After Rancic mused on-air Feb. 23 that Osbourne’s friend Zendaya, who wore dreadlocks at the Oscars, “smells like patchouli oil, or maybe weed,” the women stopped speaking. One source says that Rancic feels Osbourne, 30 — who tweeted, ‘I DO NOT CONDONE RACISM,’ and quit the show after the incident — “threw her under the bus.”

The feud reignited when Rancic appeared on the Today show April 6 and repeated her claim that a writer scripted the Zendaya remark and blamed her delivery on poor editing. The same day, Osbourne cryptically tweeted, “Liars always get caught.'”The timing of the tweet was no coincidence, says a source: “It was about Giuliana.”

Their once-close friendship — “we are like family,” Osbourne told Us in 2013 — began to unravel after Fashion Police star Joan Rivers passed away in September. Seeing a void, Rancic “tried too hard to be funny,” says an Osbourne pal. Another source agrees Rancic began to grate on her costar: “They didn’t see eye to eye on what was funny versus offensive.”

[From US Magazine]

I think one of the main issues is that Fashion Police doesn’t work without Joan Rivers, and that’s what Kathy Griffin essentially said too. They need to update their format. It’s easier for Kelly to blame Giuliana though.

Meanwhile Giuliana had an interview on Access Hollywood yesterday. She confirmed that she’s moving to Chicago and also that she’s returning to Fashion Police in September. She also said that she’s hoping to land some kind of relationship advice-type reality show with Bill. Of course she is. This is the woman who admitted what a strain her own reality show put on her marriage. Maybe if Giuliana and Bill focus on other people’s problems they’ll be able to minimize their own.

Wait, didn’t Rancic apologize for saying the remark and very earnestly tell everyone that she learned a lot from the experience? Many took her at her word and it seemed like she owned it. But now the backtracking and blaming it on poor editing? If true, she sucks.

    • nk868 says:

yeah and zendaya released a statement graciously and eloquently accepting the apology and explaining why it was offensive in the first place. the feud should be between g&z, but kelly is a spoiled brat who has been famous since her famous parents got her on a reality show in early 00’s, so god forbid people dont listen to her whine and complain.. woof.

the show didnt work with kathy because kathy doesnt know anything about fashion, but joan did. joan made the red carpet what it was. no one needed a comedienne to take over, just more fashion people with interesting insight.

Relationship advice show? Really?!? Oh, my.

  4. Kiddo says:

I can’t stand this woman. She is not good at her job.

  5. workdog says:

Two limited talent people becoming rich and famous (Kelly was more likely in the short term as she comes from famous but that doesn’t mean she inherited any talent of any type) for nothing redeeming. Along with the Time covers of Kanye and mentions of Kim, etc., as something to aspire to?

    We are in Hell.

Ursula the sea witch needs to stop bitching about other celebrities. There’s always something going on with her.. She’s so very opinionated for no reason and considering the fact her parents bought her a career and not having any particular talent she should have some humble pie and eat it 30 times a day.
At least Giuliana came from nothing and earned her fame

I agree. I also don’t particularly care for one over the other. The situation blew up, there was wrangling back-and-forth, apologies, and Kelly CHOSE to quit according to her own morals and beliefs. Now she is stirring sh!t back up–which seems to be her only talent. Perhaps it’s a ploy to keep her name out in public; what other “job” does she have?

Gah, Kelly. While I can empathize with your feelings, maybe before spouting off (again), you should take a step back, think of the productiveness of your comments for a minute or two, and THEN decide if throwing the mud is appropriate.

      • Harryg says:

        Agree.

      • lucy2 says:

I still think they fired her. She trashed the show when all this happened, and brings nothing of value to it – why would the network keep her on? I think they let her quit to save face.

    • Miss M says:

Kelly is extremely unprofessional. First, she demanded an apology on Twitter ( that action alone should cost her job). Then, she keeps talking about it. One thing is to stand up for what you believe in and but dissing people you worked with so publicly is awful. I hope she doesn’t get a job on tv for a while or if she does get one, I hope her future employers make her sign Confidentiality clause.

  7. FingerBinger says:

This has to be the most boring celebrity feud ever.

  8. BengalCat2000 says:

Both of these women are acting like 13 year old mean girls. Kelly has always been a holier than thou sh*t starter and GR seems so fame hungry to me. Ugh to both of them.

  9. Julie says:

Without Fashion Police, Kelly is “dead to a job in public,” and has to keep this going before we forget who she is

  10. Shambles says:

    You can’t sit with us.

  12. OSTONE says:

This sounds like a remake of World War Z. As in Z listers.

  13. Annika says:

These two little brats need to grow up.

  14. ann says:

    Okay, Kelly. Enough.
Time for Kelly to call her mom to get her another job. Hopefully nothing to do with fashion

  15. kate says:

    Boohoo she said it!
    Grow up, move on

  16. Talie says:

The show can still work — it’s a shame Ru is now on Good Work because he would’ve been perfect as moderator. Sandra Bernhard, Cynthia Bailey, Kimora Simmons — all also good choices as add-ons.

  17. Corrie says:

Only comment… bc i don’t care about these two. I think there’s equal blame here. I do think Kelly is right in that every time Guilana apologized it was cushioned with my words were taken out of context and I’m not a racist and you’re misunderstanding my intent. My point, she was always cushioning her apology without truly getting what she did or said wrong. Trying to over-explain the bohemian oils is STILL wrong Guilana. And for that, I do think Kelly is right. Your whole comment was narrow minded stereotype that’s offensive no matter if that wasn’t G’s intent… sorry it was. She never really understood that still. Kelly never lets something ride out quietly.

    • Amy says:

I agree with this. G is trying to position herself as the victim and for that I don’t blame Kelly or think she’s the one constantly bringing it up.

G is bringing it up mostly because it involves her, she’s got the book to sell, and a new show she wants. She’s going on a sympathy tour.

    • goofpuff says:

I hate that G is trying to shift the blame to the writers, glad Kelly called her out on that

  18. GingerCrunch says:

But, but, but…that silver dress she’s wearing in the second pic with Kelly might just be the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen! I’m shocked!

  19. Lisa says:

Boring, but they need to let this show die.

  20. TessD says:

Kelly seems to be a miserable person. She has no any specific talent or calling in life. She has no career outside of those gigs her name gets her. She still looks fat even though she lost a massive amount of weight. Rancic at least got to where she is now on her own and continues to stay relevant. I would suggest Kelly tried to find some sort of passion in life instead of spending time talking trash about her colleagues on her Twitter.

  21. JenniferJustice says:

Can’t stand Kelly. Never could. She’s talentless and has no business critiquing anybody’s fashion or sense of style. She boohooed about being called fat for years, but as soon as she lost some weight, she was the mean girl calling other fat. I do think she threw Rancic under the bus and I am no Rancic fan, but you don’t claim to be somebody’s friend and have their back and ooh, we’re so close – like family, and then boom! when they make a mistake, point in their direction and then run for the hills to save yourself from any affilitiation. The girl likes controversy and drama and is way too quick to point out other people’s problems or mistakes. She needs to get off her high horse and learn some humility.

P.S. I thought Kelly was fired. She’s saying now she quit. Which is it because it matters? There a huge difference between leaving of one’s own volition and being told to get the F out.

  22. Bob Loblaw says:

I will preface this with, I sincerely don’t care, but never was there a more made up & contrived scandal than, patchouli-gate. First of all patchouli and weed is hippies, as everyone on the planet knows, but by all means, let’s escalate it to “racism”, then instead of letting it die a natural death, we have Kelly, desperately trying to be relevant, please, make it stop.

    • Kori says:

I saw on people.com (?) not too long afterward that they’d seen the unedited tape. GR said the dreds were too heavy for her slight frame and looked too bohemian hippieish for the dress. Then went to weed and patchouli. If it is true then, dumb/reprehensible as the comment may be, it seemed that it did fall in line with the hippie allusion and wasn’t meant to be racial. Now was it tone deaf and clueless? I think so but GR got roasted alive and thrown under he bus so I don’t blame her for being mad at the writers or KO.

  23. Pam says:

Exactly! A weed joke or patchouli joke has nothing to do with racism!! Look up the definition people! It was a joke, just not really funny because everyone has told that joke at some point. Joan Rivers would have had great delivery, making it funny as she knows how to make an old bland joke anew and hilarious!

    • roxy750 says:

OMG thank you!!! And since i can remember dreads has ALWAYS been associated with WEED AND PATCHOULI! Seriously, I do not know a black person that smokes that has dreads to wear patchouli, hell no. Kelly needs to STFU and Rancic has more than dipped herself into the mud more than once over it. GET OVER IT! People also need to look up a little history on racism, what it is, looks like. This aint it. It’s a hippy/patchouli/weed joke.

  24. Pam says:

    To repeat:
weed and patchouli usage crosses all sorts of types of people and creeds and is not limited to one race!

  25. Anony says:

I think Kelly is so phony in this! She didn’t cry racism during rehearsal only when outsiders did! Then she was all ‘offended’. What G did was wrong but Kelly acted terrible as well.

  26. DiamondGirl says:

Let’s see if Kelly keeps that ugly purple hair. She always said the show contract made her keep it. That was probably a lie.
