Smh. It’s almost impressive how bad they managed to mess up one of the strongest comic book brands on the market.
My friend is a die-hard Superman fan and was so excited to see the movie only to be left yawning and sighing in boredom.
Now all their new trailers look so forcibly dark it’s comical.
I actually don’t blame Cavill at all. Watch the Tudors or even the Man From UNCLE trailer. He can bring the charm. Mostly I blame Zach Snyder, his movies are pure one note tedium. Even 300 barely managed humour…with everyone dressed like that!
Yeah he was good in The Tudors. He can be charming and sexy.
Not that I lost much sleep over this one way or the other, but he was my pick for Christian Grey. He is incredibly hot and charming when not inflated in a superhero suit.
Henry isn’t a bland actor. It’s shocking to see him outside of his superhero role. That leads me to think those in charge of this Superman era wanted him to be bland and boring and emotional. And that they thought a movie can be carried by fast moving special effects fight scenes for extended periods of time without the storyline moving forward.

I completely agree. Snyder ruins comics converted into movies. As soon as his name was attached to this there was a collective tear shed from the inner child in us all.

There’s not much that pizza can’t do, mimif. It is a glorious invention.
The Cavill “Superman” was so boring I nearly leaned over the seat rail and screamed, “Come on, Dover, move yer bloomin’ arse!” like Eliza Dootlittle. Script was ghastly.
I am so glad I didn’t pay to see Man of Steel in the theater. I hated that movie so much. Hated. It was so dreadfully boring and nothing but CGI destruction over and over. And I loved the Superman movies growing up and liked Cavill from the Tudors.
They won’t be getting my $10 for this one either.
I was soo disappointed with Man of Steel. It’s making me very apprehensive about Batman v Superman. Plus Batfleck. Lordy.
Bats and Sups are my dudes, ya know? I’m going to pony up the money to see it, but I just have this feeling they’re going to screw it up.

Thank g*d I’m not the only one who thought Man of Steel was boring. Noone emoted worth a darn. I walked away from it wondering how in the heck Henry Cavill became a successful actor because he was sooo boring. But then I binge watched all 4 seasons of the Tudors, and he’s great in it! Charming, nuanced, and sexy as hell.

I must be one of the few who liked Man of Steel. He was endearing in it… I could look past the script if I just looked at him. 🙂 I do think Amy Adams was miscast, although she looks young, she didn’t seem young enough.
Good Lawd, he is a beautiful man!! I am at least 25 years older than he is, but still…I find him just incredibly sexy and beautiful. I hate the whole Fifty Shades of Stupid series of books and would never see the movie, but if Henry was the guy, I would have gone. Yikes!!!!
I liked Man of Steel as well. And Henry just does something to me……in a great way!
I don’t mind Henry as Superman. The writing is absolutely horrible for him. Not his fault there isn’t much to work with. He’ll thank his lucky stars when the bulk of the fanboy rage will be heaped on Batfleck. Henry has Man of UNCLE coming up, which looks miles better than anything Superman related.

That beard and suit are doing nothing for him, he has been looking like a chunky monkey lately. So either his muscles are making him look fat or he is on down time and has been off his diet/workout and pudging out like Gerard Butler does between movies.
Henry Cavill was as Superman was a HUGE success. It makes sense to bring him back. Christian Bale was a HUGE success as Batman THREE times including selling record breaking tickets on the third one (>$1 billion) so why not #BringBackBale???? I thought Christian didn’t want to but apparently that’s not true. There was a shake down at Warner Brothers. Look deeper folks. Something’s rotten in Gotham.
Affleck Will be good as Batman for one reason because Warner Bros loves him.Affleck is WB’s fav since always .Either WB didn’t care/dislike Bale or Bale is really a man of integrity
I think Bale has said repeatedly that he was done after the 3 and wouldn’t do one without Nolan.
Zack Snyder directing IMO will be the big problem for this film. Soon as he was announced as this director/writer had little desire too see. He’s a glorified blow them up Bay’esk filmmaker.

Don’t get me wrong, Cavill was smoking hot in Superman but now he looks all cuddly- kind of like the human equivalent of comfort food. MUCH yummier than the lean meat version.

He is a kind courteous man and he has some diehard fans who, admittedly, are taken by him mostly for his exceptional looks. He needs some excitement or some new dimension to his image I admit. What bothered me what the strong parallels between Superman’s story and Jesus that the MoS marketing team had come up with just to promote their dumb superhero movie.
Henry Cavill is quite sterile, but… I don’t know.
The new leaked trailer looks cool though. Batman is all jealous and ‘evil’ now… who knows why.
