Here are some photos of Cara Delevingne at the Burberry London-in-LA event last Thursday. The event was pretty well attended, but I didn’t cover those photos because they were sort of snooze. Even Cara looked sort of boringly presentable. That’s her new thing – after more than a year of looking like an utter mess in public, Cara has been stepping out more and more looking pulled-together. Are her crazy, party days over? I doubt it. But I do think her new girlfriend, St. Vincent, is a better influence on her. St. Vincent was at this Burberry event too – go here to see a photo.
But! I have my doubts that Cara can stay on the straight-and-narrow path for any extended length of time. I really do think she’s a mess when it comes to drugs and alcohol, and her attempt to transition into movie stardom isn’t going to help matters. I mean, it’s not like the Hollywood types are saints and it’s only the evil fashion industry that encourages self-destructive behavior, right? If anything, I think if Cara continues to get work in Hollywood, the partying will get even worse. Which makes this story from Star Magazine sort of interesting:
British supermodel Cara Delevingne is trying to step off the catwalk and onto the big screen, but her habit of waking up next to a bottle could put her acting career in jeopardy.
“She sometimes drinks tequila as soon as she gets up and uses the excuse that she’s jet-lagged,” a friend tells Star. “Cara blames her crazy schedule for her love of alcohol – it’s really becoming a problem.”
But she’s in for a rude awakening, now that she’s settled in Toronto to film her first big franchise film, ‘Suicide Squad’ with Will Smith and Jared Leto.
“She won’t be able to use the time zones to justify her tequila-infused antics,” the source explains. “Shoots start early in the morning, and since she’s in the big leagues, she has to clean up her act or risk being labeled unreliable.”

Drinking tequila as soon as she wakes up? I believe it. I believe she probably does a lot more to get through the day too. This sort of story reminds me of what I believe is a very telling incident from Cara’s not-so-distant past (it was last summer). She met a Vogue reporter for a profile, then she fell asleep before the interview even took place, and when Vogue called her out for sleeping through her press obligations (after partying her ass off the night before), Cara threw a hissy fit and claimed Vogue was “lying” and she being punished for being “ambitious.” She’s a party girl that freaks out when anyone calls her out, so yeah… this won’t end well.

I think she’s beautiful and a good model but I so wouldn’t be surprised if this was true. She truly seems to be Kate Moss 2.0.

Sad. Having a tolerance for tequila in the morning is a bad sign from my experience with alcoholic ex. He used to put it in his oj first thing. It will just get worse if she doesn’t get some help.
Mine had a penchant for multiple glasses of wine before 8 am. I’m with you, morning binge-drinking always makes me feel so sad.
ETA: thinking of others binge-drinking in the morning makes me feel sad. I’m not much of a drinker myself, due in part to the alcoholic ex.
I was visiting a friend over the weekend and kind of repulsed/shocked that her husband cracked a beer first thing in the morning. Drinking it along with his morning joe. Seems like a harbinger of future badness.

You guys aren’t alone. I don’t get the hype either. She’s a pretty girl, but I truly don’t get her super model status. At all.
I can’t believe the current crop will have the longevity of past models. Jean Shrimpton, Cheryl Tiegs, Beverly Johnson..on and on..none were sickly stick figures..healthy beautiful memorable.
She’s only 22 but she already looks older. Lots of booze will age her fast and then she won’t have to worry about a crazy schedule because no one will want her.
I still can’t decide if I like this girl or not. Half of the things I hear are about her great personality, her sense of humor and how nice she is. The other half are all “she’s an unprofessional drunken mess”. I mean, I guess both sides can coexist…?

Over the last few days, Cara has posted several things on Instagram about having a broken heart. Seems like she and St. Vincent might be over.
I really like Cara as a model and do believe she has that presence, charisma, looks and “it” factor. No surprise that she’s a wild child now. I hope she can get some more moderation in her life, if possible. She’s really young. If she wants longevity in her business, she’d best take care of herself now. Nothing but good wishes. I get why she’s hot now.
