Kim Kardashian wears Narciso Rodriguez, discusses Bruce Jenner’s transition

wenn22419044

Here’s one of Kim Kardashian’s latest fashion failures. These photos are from the Variety ‘Power of Women’ luncheon on Friday in NYC. Kim’s cream look is Narciso Rodriguez, with Giambattista Valli shoes. Ordinarily, I adore Narciso Rodriguez’s designs. They almost always look clean, fresh and deceptively simple. Thank God we always count on Kim to make high fashion look p0rn-chic.

Kim and her siblings were actually out in force on social media on Friday night to show their support for Bruce Jenner during and after his 20/20 special with Diane Sawyer. Kim posted photos of herself and Bruce with the messages, “Love is the courage to live the truest, best version of yourself. Bruce is love. I love you Bruce. #ProudDaughter” and “It might not always be easy but we support you no matter what! Your honesty has opened the doors for others to be courageous and live an authentic life! #respect #hero #family.”

Kim also discusses Bruce in a pre-taped interview with Matt Lauer, which will air on Monday. You can see a clip of the interview here, but all Kim says that she and the whole family “really support” Bruce and “I think there is still an adjustment and there’s family therapy, and we’re really close.”

As I said, Kim wasn’t the only one of Bruce’s kids to post something on social media – even The Sock One tweeted something (Rob called Bruce a “role model”). Meanwhile, Khloe tweeted: “Just finished watching the #BruceJennerInterview with the family. Bruzer, I’m soooo proud of you! Dads really are heroes [sic]” and she posted this amazing Instagram too:

She looks perfectly fine, cut her some slack.

    • Darling says:

I do fee like kaiser is biased when it comes to Kim’s outfits, everybody doesnt have the same style. Yes Kim doesn’t know her real size and it’s more of a hit or miss, but cut the girl some slack and give credit where credit is due at times. Of course something like a sheer black dress will look high fashion on Kate moss, but because Kim is thicker and bustier it will look different (p0rnier😒) on her. For once I can say her outfit looks great here, the pulled face is another subject but the clothes are great.

    • sally says:

      +1 agreed

    • Mia V. says:

For the first time in years she looks good.

    • FLORC says:

I really like this outfit on her. Nothing bulging or exposed. That this outfit warrants an insult too clearly shows some just want to attack for the sake of it. I’d expect that talk in comments. Not in the thread article.

And glad everyone is supporting Bruce’s choices here.

    • Nerak says:

No- Cut her some slacks. Ok that’s a terrible pun.

    • Jan Harf says:

      She looks great.

    • Pnichols says:

Exactly. She looks beautiful. Love the pants. Enough hating this girl, geez.

      • HurryUp says:

Yes, enough. I’m glad to see this here. No, Kim isn’t an absolute fashion icon, and she doesn’t have impeccable taste. It’s okay. She looks fine.

      • Hannah says:

Enough hating this girl? Seriously? Don’t tell me I have to boycott this site too, i refuse to associate with kartrashian apologists.

    • jammypants says:

Agreed. I thought she looked pretty good, not p0rn-y like suggested.

    • Regina Phalange says:

Yeah, I am kind of tired of the constant bashing too. Every woman’s goal when dressing isn’t always to look thin. Sometimes you just want to wear something you like just because you like it or it is cool looking.

    • alicegrey12 says:

Thank you Kim for being honest about how you feel about your step-dad’s transition.

    • hurricanejoanna says:

I definitely agree with this. She actually looks pulled together here, nothing is too tight, sheer shirt yes but she has all her bits covered!

    • Lahdidahbaby says:

I honestly think she looks far, FAR better than usual: her clothes aren’t too tight, she’s not leading with T&A, the soft cream tone is very flattering with her brunette coloring, and like all of Narciso’s garments, this ensemble is tasteful and well made. Lovely, in fact.

What I don’t understand and never WILL understand is why so many short-legged women and men wear their pants so long that it looks as if they have no feet, apparently in the belief that it elongates the appearance of their legs, giving the illusion of height – when it really does just the opposite.

    • helen says:

I agree. I think she looks better than she usually does.

  2. ali.hanlon says:

    She looks pretty pulled together.

I mean her face is pulled so tight her nose is being pulled apart.

And the outfit is too big.

    • katP says:

+1 Shocking, but it seems either too-small or oversized outfits are all Kanye likes her in, if he really does style her for these things. smh

      • lukie says:

        Agreed.
Her clothes look like they are swallowing her.
Too much material for such a tiny person imo.

    • Jen43 says:

Yes to all of that. She is way too short to wear that and it is way too big on her. It looks unfinished. I don’t even know what to say about her face, except poor Kim.

  3. Judyk says:

She looks elegant here, except for those hideously ugly shoes. A simple pump would have been perfect.

Not a fan of Palazzo pants but she’s pulling it off.

  4. Dawn says:

Had the top not been sheer and the pants and long coat been hemmed it would have been a better look. Her face and her dirty wig do not look nice at all. And as far as Bruce goes I think this should be his moment and his kids should be front and center on this and NOT his Kardashian step-kids. And yet some how some way the media turned this into a Kardashian event which simply sickens me. I hope Bruce enjoys his new adventure but I will NOT be tuning into his show on E!.

    • Patriots27 says:

You think it’s a wig? Whatever it is, she needs someone to tell her it looks awfu?
Bruce got a show? Makes it seem disingenuous and more of a money-making scheme. Ugh…nothing is real with them.

      • Belle Epoch says:

This ^^^. He can be a role model or inspiration or whatever he’s trying to do without cashing in on it and drawing this out for months. A serious documentary would be interesting, but reality TV is just fake drama.

      • Hannah says:

Of course they will be using it for publicity but apparently even people on here are falling for their krap…

    • Steph says:

That’s pretty insulting to families with stepchildren, and makes me feel sad that some people view it through a tainted lens.

      • lisa says:

i dont think it is a case of people not respecting step families but a case of someone putting their step children ahead of their biological children because it is easier since he is with their mother and not his ex wives.

it does appear like he spent way more time with the kkk which i think would be hurtful to the other children. i think he does seem like a lazy parent.

    • ida says:

In the interview, only the Jenner kids from first 2 marriages talked. He was married to Kris for over 23 years making the Kardashians his family. Stepchildren are real family. Bruce has been with them since they were young kids and are the only father they have

      • sandy says:

I was suprised that it was just the Jenner kids. Maybe Kris didn’t want Kardashians interviewed.
Although I’m divorced from my stepchildrens father, they’ll always be my family. I agree.

  5. Patriots27 says:

She actually looks good here. I am not sure why her “people” continue to do her hair and makeup like this, though. It’s too much for the outfit.
It’s interesting how different Kim looks when her team does not control the lighting, filter, etc., She looks very different in the Matt Laeur (Sp? And too lazy to look it up) interview. You can tell that the family has had their PR training on ‘The Bruce’ and is sticking to the script. This family covets ‘the brand’ and having the father-figure disclose a penchant for becoming a woman cannot sit well with the matriarch. I remember living in San Diego back in 2009-2010 timeframe and hearing a story of Bruce Jenner being out in women’s clothes. It also makes sense now that Bruce had that awful plastic surgery after his Olympic win — he was trying to look more feminine.
This all shows you how manipulative Kris Jenner truly is — she convinced a man to hold off being his true self for 25 years so that she could fulfill her dreams. Unreal.

    • Felice. says:

My dad made the comment that he already has feminine mannerisms while talking. I really enjoyed the interview.

  6. Felice. says:

I actually like the outfit here. The only critique would be to make the vest a few inches shorter. Did you guys see Kris Humphries being an a-hole on twitter and trying to backtrack? He tweeted “Glad I got out of that.”

    • Mirn says:

I don’t think he was. He seemed to be supporting Bruce in an odd way, ie Bruce could not be himself because he was stuck in that awful family. That’s why he said #gottadoyou.

But even if he was, people should be allowed to have an opinion without being dragged for it.

      • Dani Lakes DDS says:

Really MIRN? Bc I read it as him being glad to be out of the family and away from the “freakshow” (I don’t think it’s a freakshow, nor did he use that word, but that’s how I interpreted his tweet). He was being his usual immature self, and was rightfully raked across the coals for it.

      • Tifygodess24 says:

@mirn I agree with you. I don’t believe it was a slam at Bruce it was more a slam towards the Kardashians making something – yet again – into a three ring circus. They took to Twitter right after , Kris and her filthy mouth lying about not be contacted when she clearly was and so on. I think he’s a moron for the way he put it because he was so very vague but I don’t believe it was an insult. The hashtag part was directed at Bruce. Everyone forgets this guy was very involved with this family- he knows what goes on BEHIND Closed doors and how they operate. He might not be able to talk about it but it doesn’t take away from what he witnessed!

  7. lassie says:

Is this from the Dorothy Zspornack collection?

  8. Amberica says:

This outfit is cool. It does need a few tweaks to the fit, but I like it.

  9. Tate says:

She has worn way worse. So by Kim standards this one is good.

  10. M.A.F. says:

I think she looks fine. The outfit is too big but I think it would like regardless of who wore it.

  11. swack says:

It’s a nice outfit but with the waist so high andwith the sheer to she doesn’t have a bra on, it looks frumpy. Her boobs look like they are down to her waist. Would look better without the high waistline. JMO.

  12. Shambles says:

Dude… I googled pictures of her with Kris Humphries yesterday because I wanted to remember what she looked like. Totally different person. She actually had some sense of style, her face had life, and she was an Armenian beauty. It’s so sad the level to which she’s ruined her looks.

  13. Kiddo says:

Bea Arthur (in Golden Girls) married with The Pope = this outfit.

    • The Original Mia says:

      Spot on!

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

So true, except for the sheer top. Wtf

    • ida says:

Bea Arthur was a big, manly woman with a deep gruff voice from the ’80s.Totally different than this short baby voice girl , but wear the same outfits. Who’s better?

      • Kiddo says:

Have you watched the Golden Girls on cable TV? It still runs.

      • ida says:

It’s on every morning and night. It’s actually on right now. I guess lots still watch

      • Kiddo says:

Let’s in talk in 30+ years to see if the Ks show is syndicated, amirite?

      • ann says:

I never cared for the Kardashians show, just reading about it. Soon we’ll only hear hear about the family on Oprahs:Where are They Now

      • nancy says:

The Golden Girls always dressed heavy for living in Miami.

I can saw Kims hair looks better than Dorothy Zbornaks stiff, unmoving helmet head hairdo

    • Josephine says:

I agree. It’s just plain ugly. Not sure why people keep saying that it is decent. It’s decent only in the respect that she doesn’t look like she’s going to walk the streets, which most of her clothes do. But it’s ugly and unflattering and her hair and face look awful. I think she was going for sophisticated but she’s just never going to be that.

  14. maeliz says:

She actually doesn’t look too bad. Not quite as good as she did wearing the dress the other day. She just needs to have this tailored to fit right.

She’s lucky to have a nice, brave stepfather like Bruce and she should be proud

  15. Nicole says:

I’d take this family over duck hunting racist jerks any day.

  16. Carmen says:

I think she looks fine in that photo.

    • Live says:

I am starting to really feel for Kim, Kanye clearly styles her and she feels uncomfortable. I feel sad to know she is losing her confidence. Look in her eyes, notice the body language..

This is what she wanted though, at all costs. Find your voice already!. She’s stuck in little girl mode. Daddy can’t tell you what to do for everything! She would’ve looked amazing if she wore the outfit(Kanye) and done her hair and make up the way she likes and feels good with!! I think when we see that change in Kim, she’ll be on her way out the door soon enough.

      • tam says:

£’m sorry..although Kanye probably does have some say-so as far as her attire goes, this is a grown-ass woman. I think she likes to take the backseat, so she doesn’t have to personally take flack for her choices (i.e. posing for Playboy was PMK’s idea, the way she dresses is up to Kanye, etc.)

  17. Christin says:

Words such as ‘brave’ and ‘hero’ get tossed around so much these days. Revealing a secret (even if it’s been rumored for years) does take guts. While we don’t live in a perfect world of complete acceptance, I personally think things are better now than twenty or thirty years ago.

I know two individuals who did what Bruce is preparing to do, and they did it in the 1980s. They didn’t have the same resources, and to top it all off, they lived in a very conservative town. One was a classmate, and did this in college. The other was a business person who risked their career to transition. That took a lot of guts. The buzz over Bruce’s interview makes it sound as if he is the first ever to do this.

I just have a lot of reservations about whether there are monetary motives at play. The ‘K kash’ well may be going dry and this is the new storyline to milk for all its worth. Seeing the older children is also a reminder of what they’ve gone through. Having children and then ignoring them for the next batch of children is just selfish.

    • Dani Lakes DDS says:

Are e you implying that because other people have transitioned in what you may consider less favorable conditions, Bruce shouldn’t be seen as brave or a hero? That seems unfair to me. Yes, the people you know may have had less resources, and may have risked their jobs, but at least they were able to do so under the cover of (relative) anonymity and privacy. As stressed and nervous as your friends may have felt, I would imagine it is much more amplified for Bruce given that, Yes, he still has to deal with the private, familial aspect of it, but he also faces worldwide backlash. I personally think that anyone, given whatever their circumstances may be, who makes the choice to be who they want to be, in the face of adversity and when society may not embrace it, deserves to be called a hero or brave. Regardless of their resources.

      • Christin says:

Everyone has their own perspective. I think hero and brave are VERY overused. A person who has lived most of their life and is financially secure is in a different position, indeed.

Let’s check back on this topic in a few months, after this plays out a while longer. Once this big interview is more of a memory, and other things play out, we’ll see how selfless this was. I predict a continued media (and profit) circus, personally.

    • judy says:

The big deal about Bruce being “brave” is because he is a famous guy once know as the greatest athete in the world, has 10 kids, is 65,turned out to be Republican, is still christian, and everything he does is shown by the paparazzi and media. Plenty of places I’ve read since the interview have had so many mean comments. That’s awful for people to be cruel about a person whose becoming what he believes he is after all these years. That’s bave for anybody to do it, but not the same as a college student who hasn’t ever been in the world media everyday.

      • Christin says:

Transitioning in a highly conservative Bible Belt town is tough. Not that what Bruce is doing is easy, either, but he isn’t going to worry about money like someone who is just starting out or has a career going and needs to survive for decades. Very different situations.

      • sandy says:

The situation Bruce has been living with takes more than money to cope with@christin. Years of therapy, depression, unfortunately a high level of suicide. Money can’t do everything. Bruce was famous way before the Kardashians. If someone is in a town that isn’t accepting, they could always leave, but Bruce will always be followed. Bruce has been rediculed and teased by the media and commenters for years. Money or no money the world pointed and laughed. So brave for coming forward and telling the world

      • Christin says:

I have followed my classmate’s journey for years, as she has been very open and forthright about it. She did move away at one point and became a well known figure in the TG community (while her entire family shunned her for years).

She, and others like her, often cannot afford adequate therapy, GR surgery or augmentations. That is my point about resources. From what I understand, Bruce is not seriously considering GR surgery. But if he wants to do that (after appropriate therapy and all the requirements), he could do so without any financial hardship. As for being in the public eye, who really kept up with him until the reality show? Part of the being hounded came with that part of his life.

    • Kiddo says:

I look at it this way, good for people living as who they felt they were born as or who they should be. I know and have known transgendered individuals and it isn’t an easy road.

But if the motivation was to help others, there wouldn’t have been the lead-up, the hype, the ‘will he or won’t he’ teases before the Sawyer interview (although the interview itself was handled respectfully). There are other things that Bruce said during this interview, and some of his mannerisms that felt more manufactured than how others perceived them (especially the part about this not having to do with promoting his upcoming show), that convinced me that, more than doing anything for others, he sees his transformation as an opportunity for full attention and money outside of any real intent to benefit to others.

It may end up helping others as an unintended consequence, and if it does, good. However, this show is being put out by E! and not PBS, so I won’t be part of the viewership. I realize this is an unpopular opinion, so I won’t elaborate or persist. Good luck to Bruce, but I hope the transitioning is treated with dignity so it doesn’t end up hurting others for the benefit of one.

      • Dani Lakes DDS says:

But I don’t think the motivation WAS to help people. Not the primary motivation, at least. I thought it was more to get it off his chest, on his terms. Did he go into it expecting some financial gain? Probably. In his shoes it’s kind of a given. To me at least, that doesn’t take away from the fact that this confession MIGHT help someone, whether intentional or not, and in the grand scheme of things, I view threw as a positive thing.

      • Christin says:

Kiddo, you and I are probably in the minority view (at least on this site). I am really questioning how this will play out, and why “now” was the time.

I haven’t seen one comment reference the possible lawsuit that might be brewing over the lady who was killed in the auto accident, either.

Not wishing him any ill will, or implying it’s easy for him. I just question this almost sainthood that has been bestowed upon him.

      • carol says:

Christin, his car accident hasn’t been mentioned because it doesn’t have anything to do with this. Why would we want to comment on something that he hasn’t been proven guilty by besides TMZ?

      • Christin says:

It’s a question of timing when it comes to a family who seem to be like the little boy who cried wolf. Everything with them seems to be about storylines and timing. And Bruce chose to be a part of that for a very long time (and may not be far removed from it now).

Bruce has a gift that benefits him, and that is what I like to call a “Teflon” personality. No matter his character flaws, questionable judgment, etc., he has the type of likeable personality that lets everything slide right off in terms of public perception.

I’m not going to argue the point anymore and let time determine the sincerity and impact of his announcement.

    • Hannah says:

Totally agree, christin. About the words being overused and that this will be used for publicity.

      • Christin says:

@Hannah, thanks for voicing your opinion. If Bruce and his reality show family decide to become advocates for TG, then great. But I think this is mostly about extending the $hows.

    • PeaBea says:

Sure Bruce has the money and the 21st century but he also has the paps every day monitoring this transition, the media judging his style etc etc.

No one has it easier. It’s a battle for everyone.

  18. SnowGlow says:

Her face looks painful. The outfit is a lot better then some of the other stuff she’s worn, but that hair is awful, it looks really greasy.

  19. Janie says:

I actually like her outfit. Not crazy about the sheer top. The outfit dwarfs her and it does look like a “Dorothy” pick! Ha! Her X Kris has the right to voice his opinion. He’s the lucky one, he got out!

    • jwoolman says:

Yea, she looks fine except for the sheer top. Would look much better unsheer. But for her, it’s a big improvement.

  20. Crumpet says:

What is going on with her upper lip? On my phone it looks almost white.

  21. cakecakecake says:

the outfit does not fit her and her trying to make it sexy or whatever takes away from the chic-ness of it all.
its too long and its not for her body type but if she had it tailored it would look better. I guess we should cheer that she is not half naked as usual.
    its a fail

  22. lisa says:

it looks like something you would wear to be indoctrinated into a fancy cult

but it is one of her better outfits so i guess a half hearted kudos is appropriate

  23. Tracy says:

This outfit doesn’t have bulging flesh, too tight fabric pulling across the hips or bust, or pendulous breasts flapping in the wind….and therefore it is an improvement over much of what else Kim steps out in. She certainly doesn’t look good, but she doesn’t look awful, which looks …better.

  24. nicegirl says:

Am gonna have to beg to differ – I think Kim looks lovely and appropriate here. Wish I had this outfit!

  25. LisD says:

    Wow….her purse. That’s all I’ve got.

  26. Veronica says:

I don’t mind the outfit, honestly. It may have been a tad more streamlined with an opaque shirt, but there’s enough fabric that the sheer doesn’t overwhelm the outfit. One of her better fashion attempts.

I do find it slightly charming how supportive the family is. There’s a lot of things to criticize the family for, but their handling of this has been pretty good.

  27. Camille (The Original) says:

Ok WTH is going on here today, there are far too many Kartrashian apologists here today. Ick.

  28. rudy says:

Is Kim wearing a bra or are those her nipples peeking thru?

  29. How can you know what shoes she’s wearing, when her feet are swallowed up in her clothes? This family has just scored enough publicity too keep them all jazzed for the next month.

  30. Brooke says:

While I would never wear it myself (or be caught dead in it) I like this outfit on Kim. I feel it gives her height and is slimming and flattering for her figure, while the sheer top part pays homage to her sexy style and full figure, and it is also white, which seems to be her favourite go-to colour. I think this Narciso Rodriguez piece was prepared thoughtfully to create a flattering silhouette on Kim, one that is elegant and suits her personality (she likes to wear quirkier non-conventional things) Not a fan of her or the outfit, but I do give compliments where they are due!

  31. Tessa says:

Bloody hell, its not busting open? Do you think someone else picked it other than kanye?
Has she had more work done on her nose? Its getting more jacko
