    Damn these last few weeks!
Percy Sledge; Ben E King; and now BB King. Voices of the 60s withering away

  2. MonicaQ says:

First concert I ever went to was BB King. I was 5, my grandma loves him. She mails him a birthday card every year and every year he wrote back. Time to fire up Spotify and shed a few tears with grandma.

  3. Abbott says:

Aw man, George. Don’t try to be Cool Dad.

  4. Moneypenny says:

I agree! A BB post versus yet another Kardashian-arrhea post.

  5. Shambles says:

Miley… Babe. Stop. Gaga already did the whole “look as f#cking ridiculous as possible for attention” thing, and it was just as irritating then. She could be really cute. There was a time when she was cute. It makes me sad.

  6. meme says:

RIP BB King. We won’t be seeing the likes of you again. Blues genius. The thrill is gone. I hope they bury him with Lucille.

  7. meme says:

CDAN Cannes BI is Natalie Portman.

    • Samantha says:

Yep, that’s what I think, too. Charlize I wouldn’t qualify as “former A+ list,” and she also probably would not call the guy an a-hole *in French*.

    • Don't kill me I'm French says:

It’s also BS ! There is no interview on Cannes red carpet

  8. Miss M says:

Rest in peace, Mr. BB King

  9. PennyLane says:

Hmmm….the blind item sounds more like Jane Fonda – she is famous (to some people, infamous) for her leftist politics and is fluent in French. Also she’s old, so I’m guessing that she has no ^(*&$#s left to give. Good for her.

The term “legend” is overused so frequently to describe mediocre artists of today; however, B.B. King was a true legend in every sense of the word!!! His legacy as one of the greatest musicians of all time will never fade. R.I.P earth brotha. One love.

  11. Sea Dragon says:

    Ugh. RIP BB.

I’ll miss seeing him in concert – I think I cried every time I saw him, he touched everyone in the audience. RIP Blues Man!!!!

While I understand we all will die; I really wanted B.B. to live forever. Bless his heart and that band in Heaven just got more awesome. Love you B.B.

i am filled with sorrow because i will never get to see the great b.b. king in person. i just never had the opportunity, but i will always remember the first time i saw him on television,..family ties…michael j. had him on as a guest. it was thrilling to watch him play. i ran out and bought a cassette of his greatest hits. it is still among my prized possessions. sweet little angel i love the way she spread her wings when she spread her wings around me i get joy, and everything

I went to a BB concert with a friend and her son who had a dibilitating disease and was confined to a wheelchair. ( he has sense passed away) BB came over to us and played for my friends son and at the end shook his hand. It meant the world to him. He’s was a national treasure and more importantly very, very kind…

  17. Dena says:

The last of the great Blues Men (and women).

So awesome to read all the accounts of what a lovely human being Mr. King was. Rest well, sir.

  23. lisa2 says:

    RIP Mr. Blues Boy..KING.

losing another legend like this just shows how Unremarkable the new crop of singer are. Most of them will be forgotten. Nothing really special when you consider this man’s legacy. They are leaving us now; and sad to say I don’t know who can fill their shoes.. or even try them on.

  24. JRenee says:

RIP Riley, may your music live forever. I am a fan of his music. I also gravitate to old school concerts because the greats are truly dying out. What a huge loss!
    Condolences to his family.

  25. Vava says:

B.B. King, one of the all-time greats! So glad I got to see him perform as many times as I did, and we have a collection of his work that we’ve enjoyed for many years. What a fabulous man.

  26. Jayna says:

Such a humble and brilliant musician. I still remember that clip of him in U2’s Rattle and Hum movie from back in the ’80s when Bono wrote a song for him to duet with. They were in their 20s and in awe of him, and he just cruised in with his band and turned it into something amazing. When they tried to show him some changes in the sheet music for the song when he arrived, B.B. responds, “Gentlemen, I don’t do chords.” LOL Bono said that Keith Richards was spot on when he called B.B. King a “specialist.” He was 62 back then and still so effortlessly cool, showing the young-uns how you do it. Bono said he tried to belt it out his best for their live performance, but said he sounded like a little girl next to the great B.B. King.

Enjoy. When Love Comes to Town live 1989 on U2’s Lovetown Tour with B.B. King
