Anna Nicole Smith’s death being re-investigated

Anna Nicole Smith

Florida officials have decided to re-examine the circumstances surrounding late model Anna Nicole Smith’s death. It was originally ruled an accidental overdose, but because of the new findings, investigators are taking a closer look at the events leading up to her demise. In light of the recent arrests of Howard K. Stern, nefarious hanger-on/lawyer for Anna Nicole Smith, and her personal physicians, Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich, investigators are re-examining evidence in the case.

Following the arrests of Anna Nicole Smith’s lawyer and doctors, officials in Florida are reexamining the circumstances surrounding her death.

Howard K. Stern and Drs. Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich were busted earlier this month for allegedly supplying Smith with illicit drugs.

“Our prosecutors have met with representatives of the Los Angeles district attorney’s office and the California Department of Justice and discussed the evidence they have turned up in their investigation,” says Ron Ishoy, the spokesman for Ft. Lauderdale State Attorney Mike Satz.

“We are now investigating that evidence to see where it might lead in relation to Ms. Smith’s death here in Broward County in 2007.”

Legal experts say that Sunshine State prosecutors may reopen the case if they find evidence that the defendants illegally administered drugs to Smith, which ultimately caused her death.

“If what they know is criminal felony conduct lead to the death, then they could be considering whether or not they can bring a secondary murder charge or an involuntary manslaughter charge against any or all of these people,” says Los Angeles criminal defense attorney Alec Rose, who is not directly involved in the case.
It does not matter how much time has gone by since the case closed, explains Rose.

“In most jurisdictions the statute of limitation for murder is unlimited,” he says. “There’s never a time limit to investigate a charge of murder. A criminal charge can usually be brought in any location where any part of the crime took place.”

There was no comment from either the Los Angeles district attorney or California attorney general’s office on the Florida probe.

Stern, Kapoor and Eroshevich were charged with felony conspiracy to furnish drugs to Smith and prescribing, administering or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict. They are currently free on bail and have proclaimed their innocence.

“These individuals repeatedly and excessively furnished thousands of prescription pills to Anna Nicole Smith, often for no legitimate medical purpose,” California Attorney General Jerry Brown said earlier this month.
“There is ample evidence that Dr. Eroshevich and Dr. Kapoor violated their ethical obligations as physicians, while Mr. Stern funneled highly addictive drugs to Ms. Smith.”

[From E!]

I’ve never believed that Anna’s death was an accident. Stern certainly had his motives for keeping Anna Nicole incapacitated. The model stood to inherit, at the very least, $88 million from her late tycoon husband prior to her death. Stern helped Anna stake her claim to those millions and many felt that the only reason he was hanging around was to make sure he got his share. In fact, Stern had just acted on Anna’s behalf in court as recently as March 9, asking that the stay on the case be lifted so her estate could start collecting the inheritance. But his request was denied. Then there’s the matter of Anna’s son, Daniel, who died shortly before his mother, also under mysterious circumstances – also ruled an “accidental overdose.” I don’t think it’s any coincidence that Stern was near both of them at the time of their deaths. I wonder what would have happened to Anna’s baby daughter, Dannielyn, if Stern had won his bid for custody of her? Very few infants have “accidental overdoses,” so he would have had to come up with another plan. Hopefully the investigators are more careful with this new investigation – clearly, something happened here that was no accident.

While its obvious Stern was keeping her drugged up, I don’t think he meant for her to die when she did…it would have been “wiser” to wait until Anna won her court case (who knows if she will though) and until he was legally married to her and had full custody of the baby.

  2. Kimberly says:

She will never Rest In Peace , hopefully after this is siad and done she’ll get it .

That death was just suspicious as all hell .Hopefully those crooks rot in jail , it really goes to show that money is usually the root of all evil .

  3. Wow says:

    ‘Bout time.

They need to investigate her son’s death too.

  4. j. ferber says:

Poor Anna. What a tragedy her life and death were. I did read that Howard drugged up the baby at night so they could sleep without the baby waking up and crying. I believe this and think Stern is a loathsome human being.

  5. mel says:

I always thought Stern was fishy and he was up to no good. I feel bad for DLynn having to grow up without her mother.

  6. Chiara says:

I’m in agreement with you, and Anna incapicitated with drugs would be far easier to manipulate.

I’m hoping there will be a felony conviction against him, thereby leaving him open to being disbarred in CA.

  7. Sauronsarmy says:

    Ugh, who the hell cares.

  8. spooge says:

oh god…. I thought we’d gotten more than enough of this crap. please… go away… along with lindsay lohan, paris hilton, OJ, Tom Cruise, angelina jolie.
    we’re sick of you.

  9. Hieronymus grex says:

She’s still dead right? This won’t suddenly bring her back will it ? Then who cares.

  10. Ggirl says:

Justice has never been carried out in her death. Howard Stern is evil and so are the parasites that were “doctors”. While it is true that Anna chose her profession and was troubled, I also believe that Howard Stern and the physicians that were allegedly acting as professionals in her life need to be held accountable for their actions or lack therof. There were 2 deaths; Anna and Daniel. Dannilynn has no mother and a father who is also exploiting her so he can make a living. Therefore, the tragedy continues. Looking beyond all the circus like atmosphere, there is definite injustice here.

Wow. So if someone murders your mother or sister, investigating it would be a waste of time, right?

Wow. So if someone murders your mother or sister, investigating it would be a waste of time, right?

    1. It’s not my mother or sister so the contention is irrelevant.

    2. The case has been investigated to point of exhaustion and ridicule already. This isn’t about ‘justice’ or any of the other comforting illusions people outside of the case like to spout off about when someone famous dies under muddled circumstances. It’s about MONEY- who has it and who wants it.

  13. Nina says:

Anna Nicole was not a victim.
She used and abused people to get drugs and money. She didn’t love anybody, herself included.Anna Nicole was selfish person who didn’t love anybody except DRUGS.
    That was her CHOICE!!

Model Oath for the New Physician:

“I will hold sacred the patient-physician relationship; I will respect confidentiality and patient autonomy. I will not hesitate to advocate for patients in their quest for better health and well-being. I will not abuse my position for any private gain”.

Please note the last sentence and how it pertains to the “physicians” treating Ms. Smith.

  15. poopoo says:

“PHYSICIANS treating people not just the ones treating Anna do harm. The facts are prescription drugs are the 3 leading cause of death, Prescription drugs are very toxic. Don’t comfort yourself thinking it only happens to people like Anna. That woman had a very strong constitution to be able to handle all the drugs she took. I mean her reality show was full of her high on prescription drugs. I don’t think you understand a thing about being rich and famous and having an addictive personality,

  16. jeb says:

I read somewhere that Anna Nicole limited Dannilynn’s formula because she didn’t want her daughter to get fat. During interviews after the baby was born, Anna Nicole was so out of it her speech was slurred and hard to understand. I have wondered if the baby isn’t somehow better off now than she would have been had the drug addiction circus of a life had continued for her. Even though her father has submitted her to media (ET) more than I would like to see, she seems to be a very normal, happy little girl living a normal life…very loved and happy. Who knows what happened…it all looked so shady.

  17. sissoucat says:

Justice is a slooowww process. Any journalist knew where to dig when she died. And only now do they follow the leads ? It doesn’t seem like good work to me.

They are still very well paid for it.

The selection of your Criminal Defense Attorney is one of the most important decisions.

  19. barneslr says:

To an extent, yes…she was responsible for her own fate. But I also believe that preying on the weak, as Stern and these so-called “doctors” did-rises to the level of criminal.

They saw a weak minded person and took full advantage. They killed her just as certainly as if they had shot her, and they should pay for that crime.

  20. british bitch says:

Nina, I agree. Anna was the victim of her own addiction. Sad but true.
