Beyonce just trolled the hell out of the Beyhive: hilarious or rude?

A photo posted by Beyoncé (@beyonce) on

In some ways, Beyonce acts like royalty. Specifically, she acts like Prince William. I’ve been saying for a while now that William seems to think that he’s a gifted public relations genius and he can manipulate the press and everything he does or says is golden. When really, all of his shenanigans have blown up in his face many times. Beyonce is the same way – for the past several years, she’s had a touchy relationship with the press. Her aim, I think, is to seem like she’s above it. Like she can promote her work without dealing with the peasants in the press and just deal directly with the Beyhive. That literally creates a Hive mentality, where Beyonce only hears sycophantic compliments and never the criticism.

So, Good Morning America hyped their exclusive interview with Bey for several days. There was going to be a MAJOR announcement. The Beyhive thought their Queen was going to drop another surprise album. They thought maybe another world tour. Maybe another pillowy pregnancy. And what was Beyonce’s MAJOR announcement? That she’s shilling her stupid vegan-but-don’t-call-it-vegan diet (but don’t call it a diet).

Not exactly earth-shattering news. Beyonce hyped a big announcement to be made on Good Morning America on Monday, June 8, releasing a teaser video this past weekend and getting fans talking about just what the news might be.

The promotional clip, which made its way online in the late hours of Sunday evening, showed Beyonce telling a camera, “This is something I have to share with everyone.” The video inspired speculation that Queen Bey was finally releasing a studio album with her husband Jay Z, or announcing that she was pregnant again, making 3-year-old daughter Blue Ivy a big sister.

The actual reveal was far less shocking. The Grammy winner, 33, made her appearance on GMA to discuss her vegan diet. She took Marco Borges’ 22-Day Vegan Challenge in 2013, and has since stuck with the meal plan, shedding inches and pounds off of her famed figure.

“I am not naturally the thinnest woman,” she said in the recorded video on the morning show. “I have curves, I’m proud of my curves. I have struggled since a young age with diets. Finding something that actually works, that actually keeps the weight off has been difficult for me.”
The star, who added that her skin is “really firm and a lot tighter” since trying the challenge, said the program helped her get the weight “off fast” and keep it off. She used the GMA appearance to promote 22 Days Nutrition, her meal delivery service with Borges that was first announced in February.

While some foodies were seemingly pleased with Beyonce’s highly anticipated announcement, many members of the Beyhive were less than thrilled with the apparent letdown and took to Twitter to voice their frustration.

“They had the dramatic music in the Beyonce/GMA interview commercial and she’s announcing that she only eats grass lmao,” one Twitter user wrote. Another added, “This Beyoncé announcement had me dead, I almost made it to school an hour late because I thought this GMA announcement would’ve been big,” while a third chimed in, “What a joke. Beyonce uses Good Morning America to announce she’s vegan. Yikes.”

[From Us Weekly]

I will drink the salty tears of the Beyhive because this is SO FUNNY. Little Bey-stans missed school because they thought Blue Ivy was getting a sibling and what did Bey do? Talked about her dumb diet. My hope is that her food delivery whatever with Marco Borges is as successful as Tidal. Then Bey and Jay can have his-and-hers business failures this year.

That’s hilarious…although I wonder if the over-hype was more the media than Beyonce. I honestly thought it was going to be a new album.

    • tabasco says:

I wondered this too at first – – was the overhype on GMA or Bey? But then I’m like, she’s SO turbo about not directly interacting with interviews that I feel like she must’ve given the stamp of approval for all the hype. Seems her BFF Goop’s got her thinking that becoming an annoying preachy “lifestyle brand” is the way to go.

  2. missmerry says:

i love what you said about the ‘hive mentality’ that this family lives in every day.
its very clear they live in their own bubble within the bubble of the rest of our realities.

    • Dawn says:

But so do so many other artists or supposed artists. This did not just start with Bey and Jay after all. Look at all those people who think the world can’t breathe without seeing their picture. I am not sticking up for her by any means I am just saying she is not the only one. And truly it is the media who keeps these people famous and not the public unless they are willing to buy whatever these people are shrilling about.

    • Gea says:

Announcement, om it must be something important that she have to say about her greatness. Perhaps, new achievement or she will share with us her greatest discovery. It will monumental …so stay tuned.

  3. Amy says:

    …seriously?

And no, that’s not a response to Beyonce’s announcement.

  4. word says:

    Hahaha !

  5. InvaderTak says:

I think we’re going to have to borrow kid rocks can of raid for this thread lol

  6. lolamd says:

Omg she is unreal. Why is this even news on GMA?

    • missmerry says:

      amen.

its news because Beyonce believe, truly, that this is news.
and has the money and face to get on GMA to talk about it…right?

if its news to the B, it’s news to the rest of us…the hive so says.

  7. INeedANap says:

This is why you shouldn’t deify celebrities.

  8. Red32 says:

Why the hell would anyone miss school for Beyonce’s announcement? It will be on the internet and therefore every teenager’s phone in less than 10 seconds.

    • lucy2 says:

Seriously, whoever that is needs to make better life choices!

    • Otaku Fairy says:

I laughed when I read that part. I don’t think there’s any celebrity announcement that could make me miss out on being somewhere I need to be.

  9. AlmondJoy says:

People are currently putting pizza and hamburger emojis under all her ig pics. They’re PISSED! Lol

Kaiser, why do you hope this fails? It seems like a positive thing.

    • Kiddo says:

Now i want pizza, DAMN YOU AlmondJoy, even your names screams candy bar! lol

Not related, but ETA: I think Bey is more beautiful when she is freshfaced and without makeup.

      • AlmondJoy says:

😂😂😂 currently dreaming about chocolate.. Surprisingly though, I hate Almond Joy candy bars. I all about the Twix!

Yup Kiddo, I agree! She’s very beautiful with little to no makeup.

      • Kiddo says:

        Dark chocolate KitKat bar 4evah!

      • AlmondJoy says:

Ooooh Kit Kat! So crispy 😍

      • mimif says:

I didn’t even know there was a dark chocolate Kit Kat. I feel so empty inside now.

      • Kiddo says:

They make it a big secret. Conspiracy driven by the milk chocolate syndicate.

      • I Choose Me says:

Yes. She’s so pretty when she’s wearing minimal makeup. I always feel that beauty starts with great skin and she has that in spades.

    • mimif says:

There is a full on emoji war happening over there and it is fantastic. Also, I can’t believe you don’t even like Almond Joy. I feel lied too. Snickers.

      • AlmondJoy says:

Emoji war is the perfect way to describe it! Hilarious, isn’t it?

😂😂 I’m sorry for tricking you 😔 My middle name is Joy and my skin is the color of an almond.. Hence the name lol. Plus I’m allergic to coconuts! So no Almond Joys for me.

      • mimif says:

That’s okay! I was just teasing you, my little Twixie. I don’t have a middle name and my skin is the color of freckles, so that’s why my name is mimif. 😉

      • Kiddo says:

You are one of those white chocolate, cookie speckled Easter eggs.

      • I Choose Me says:

What you did there mimif? I see it. 😀

        And now I want Snickers.

    • Beckysuz says:

@almondjoy…have you ever seen the Pinterest post where someone made a GIANT kit kat? It was amazing !!!

  10. Belle Epoch says:

Does she have a vegan book coming out?

  11. Michelle says:

I feel like pretty much all celebrities get all wonky and crazy when they reach a certain level of fame and fortune. I think Beyoncé and Jay have reached that level. They not only seem to truly believe their own hype, but Beyoncé also comes off as crazy sometimes. I’ve been picking up on shades of Mariah from Beyoncé for a long time now. I wanted to like Beyoncé and I think she’s a great performer, but it’s just not there for me. Her HBO documentary made her looks ultra crazy and like she takes herself way too seriously.

    • sofia says:

They don’t have people around them that tell them “no” or “you’re being an idiot” without fearing getting fired I guess. And they probably don’t have friends, because their “friends” are just like them. Which just inflates their egos.

    • LadyoftheLoch says:

“Wonky and crazy” uh-huh. Glad I’m not the only one to think so.

I mean, who cares about her vegan diet? If it works for her and her curves, and if she feels better on it, then great, but don’t go shilling it to the rest of us on Good Morning America, ffs! That show is crappy enough already without more diet drivel clogging up the airwaves.

  12. Fat Monica says:

hah theyre all commenting with food emojis on her IG

    • me says:

LOL wow really ? This beyhive will even turn on it’s own “queen” huh? They are a true force and need their own docuseries.

  13. kri says:

Can a vegan selfie book bey far beyhind?

    • me says:

A vegan world tour perhaps? A vegan documentary? A vegan fashion line ?! Oh the possibilities…

  14. Tiffany27 says:

    Beyonce Giselle ……….

  15. Naddie says:

Not that I like her aside from moves and voice, but this was hilarious. Hope she keeps on trolling, that’s what these crazy, vapid fans deserve.

  16. Nev says:

    Yawn

  17. ken says:

Writing that she is announcing another pillowy pregnancy is uncalled for cos I dnt know why is she still being shamed for her pregnancy cos she has a baby now either she faked it or not she got a child.

  18. Saks says:

” I’m proud of my curves” yes so that is why she photoshops the hell out of every picture she publish on instagram…
I also want this to be her tidal, she needs a taste of reality

    • Otaku Fairy says:

She, like a lot of people, probably wants the curves without the parts that society doesn’t celebrate so much.

    • Kori says:

That was my takeaway. She has a great curvy and strong figure but she’s always photoshopping down her thighs & hops, adding thigh gaps etc.

      • Angel says:

Check out the pics of her in the Vogue Met issue. She’s angled her hips back so bad she looks in pain:) Thigh gap without photoshop!
(sorry can’t find the pic to link)

  19. bellenola says:

I think eating vegan is probably better for your body and the planet, but oh I don’t know how they do it. I don’t want to live without cheese!

    • RosettaStoned says:

Your body gets used to it, and you simply don’t crave things the way you used to! I still eat cheese from time to time, but I’m just very careful about which farm I buy from. Impact on the planet is important, but I also need protein and calcium. Sometimes I get sick of tofu, can’t afford meat, and nuts hurt my soft teeth, so cheese it is! A little bit of cheese once per month is all I need to feel satisfied and not like I’m missing out on an old favorite

If anyone is interested in trying out veganism/vegetarianism, try cutting one thing at a time and see how you feel. Just the discipline to make a goal and stick to it, whether it’s for yourself or for the environment, will make you feel great and strong. But do it for your own reasons, not Beyonce’s. Explore what you really want to get out of it, and go from there. I wanted to control what I eat and when, not have my cravings for certain foods or meals control me and my life’s schedule. Going plant-based really helped me see where my ‘addictions’ lie and how to temper them. However, going low-sugar or something might have the same result for others. Ultimately it’s all about self-awareness, listening to your inner compass and aligning your habits with the person you want to be in the world. Everything else is marketing fluff.

And when you’re doing it for yourself (ANY life changes), and not to please some outside entity, you become less evangelical (and less annoying). You won’t care if the whole world hears what you’re doing or not, because you’ll be at peace with yourself. Some people will never have that, no matter how many lifestyle changes they make and try to promote……

    • Sofia says:

There’s “cheese” made from tofu that has the same consistency of real cheese. I use it on pizzas and it’s marvellous. Look for it:)

  20. BeckyR says:

A bigger question for me would be why GMA would treat this like some big news story? They are morphing into a pop news show. I need real news in the morning.

  21. Moneypenny says:

Ha ha! I saw a promo for this yesterday and called this! I told my husband that her announcement was going to be her vegan food delivery service. He said, “Oh, she’s going to be delivering food to the poor?” As if, hubby, as if.

  22. rudy says:

“My hope is that her food delivery whatever with Marco Borges is as successful as Tidal. Then Bey and Jay can have his-and-hers business failures this year.”

    Yessssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so sick of their entitled hypocritical stuff.
They pretend to be just like us. Ha! What a joke.
JZ wants more and more and more money so WE have to give it to him and for what??
So Bey can spend $1,000’s dumping champagne in a pool?
Beautiful Blue Ivy has to live her life with a lie because her parents care more about image than truth and more about power than life.

They travel with an entourage of people who constantly bicker and all we see are the sparkling photos deemed safe to send to the ‘public’. More than any other entertainment couple out there now, The BeyJay scam enrages me. The waste of lives and money and time spent on cleansing and changing their image into their stupid perceived notion of what WE want, is sick and out-dated in this day and age.

  23. chiller says:

Call me crazy but, “the Grammy winner, 33”??? There’s no way she is thirty three!

  24. Abby_J says:

Can’t stand Beyonce and I really enjoy meat, so I have nothing to add other than I 100% support that sweet little girl in the picture with the two giant bows in her hair.

Yep. That is all I got. Yay bows!

  25. Pandy says:

It is a vegan diet yet they will not call it vegan because it has none of the “do no harm” philosophy behind it. It’s just about losing weight and making $$$. I hope they choke on it.

    • Sofia says:

Vegan implies not wearing leather, wool, silk… It’s more than just the plant based diet, which I think that’s what she is selling right?

  26. Loren says:

BEYONCE is so F$@€%ing annoying. Great you have money… You know who did that for you? YOUR SONG WRITERS AND EVERYONE ELSE BEHIND THE SCENES. And 33….. YA RIGHT!!!!

  27. ccinkissimmee says:

Wishing bad luck on someone because you don’t like them? I thought better of Celebitchy. Smh.

  28. iheartgossip says:

Hilarious! All day long!!! The BeyHive are loons for sticking by her and all her trickery.

  29. EM says:

Whenever people like her and her husband open their mouths to speak, I feel my IQ points slipping.
It irks me that these two dummies earn so much money.

  30. fiona says:

in all honesty id want to have their kind of money…isnt that what im slaving for in college. this is always the problem with us the lower class…we’re so jelous we’d wish her to fail, when did having so much money become ‘sinful’ ,when did we start policing other peoples expenses. i might not be a big bey fan and my best friend just turned me to her concert performances (and they are awesome) but i wouldnt wish her failure ,if she doesnt want to give her money to charitys she shouldnt , i dont. her voice is her business idea ,we dont tell mark zukerberg ‘oh no you cant charge us,we’re the ones making you rich.its economics ,tho you are a consumer the product is essentially not yours ,and the owner needs to be compensated. if she was kim kardashian id have something to say about her money but shes been working ever since she was a child …enjoy your money woman!! we forget women never had their own money at one point and now we have a woman with so much money she can afford to be frivolous with it!! and all the best in her projects… i dont feel jelous because id want to have that kind of money and no matter how much of it id have , id still want more, you can never have enough money.

  31. fiona says:

and just because you buy products from walmart doesn’t mean you get to decide how the owners spend their money. and id doubt jay and bey are dumb …you know who’s dumb. Lindsay lohan, having talent and connetions and you still fail at making the most of it.

  32. SAM says:

Uhhhh, Pleeeeelase BEEEOnceee!!! go fix your FAKE pregnancy and your(staying in this for $$$$$ only) marriage to Jay ZEEEE!!!!!!!
