Amber Heard responds to Johnny Depp rumors: ‘We’re very happy. Very’

Amber Heard

Here are some candid photos of Amber heard at LAX on Friday afternoon. She paused to sign some autographs for adoring fans, which isn’t surprising. She graciously dealt with an overzealous male fan outside her NYC hotel last week. Amber is gorgeous.

We sort-of poke fun at Amber for capitalizing on Johnny Depp’s fame while accusing others of doing the same. I think Amber may be fame hungry, but she’s also under a microscope. People question her affectionate selfies with others, but she swiftly manages miracle joint appearances with the hubby. Amber is defending her marriage. This is from her recent Elle interview (where she also claimed to repeatedly fall in love with Johnny). Some excerpts:

The marriage: “We have a fairly normal, um [relationship]. I guess, we do our best. He has his life, and I have mine, and our challenge is to be able to find time to be together. We’re very happy. Very.”

On tabloid rumors: “I’m already probably pregnant and divorced. It’s been a month, so clearly there’s some trouble. Clearly I’m pregnant, or clearly it’s great and we’re buying ponies.”

Amber won’t be distracted: “Ironically, the people with whom I choose to share my life or by whom I’m compelled just so happen to be unwitting proponents, like a distracting force. I’m in a very similar type of situation and have my career that I’ve been working hard for now, and yet I still am constantly confronted with these forces that can distract or deflect from where I see my real work.”

[From Elle]

Amber makes solid points. It must be extremely difficult to maintain a marriage where both parties travel for work. Most working actors only spend a few weeks at home before jetting off to the next location. Matters grow more difficult when both parties work on opposite sides of the globe. I don’t envy Amber’s position. She’s in a lose-lose situation with the press, and Johnny may have a serious alcohol problem.

The newest issue of the Enquirer says Disney execs are fed up with Johnny’s behavior on the Pirates 5 production. He leaves the set for legit and sketchy reasons. Execs reportedly told Johnny to “get his act together” because “the movie is millions over budget and behind schedule. It’s becoming a fiasco!” The tabloid says Johnny hired a sober coach. If this story is true, Johnny needs to tell Amber to stop badmouthing Australia to the press too.

Very, very happy. So, so happy. So very happy. We are the happiest.

    • Liv says:

Good god, who is supposed to believe her? There are blind items about them and they are obviously on the rocks. Not to speak of his addiction problems.

      • Mmmhmm says:

The blind items are not true. He doesn’t really have an addiction. He’s seemed really sober recently.

    • pikny says:

gold digger happy with his money.depp drowing his sorrows for marrying her in booze.almost feel sorry for him.almost.

      • MC2 says:

Naw- she has her own money & he was a mess before her. Don’t blame the woman for the man’s choices & failings.

    • laura in LA says:

      Happiest we’ve ever been.

(Did I mention that we’re happy?)

      So very, very f*cking happy.

  2. Palar says:

I thought it was Lindsay Lohan in the header pic.

  3. GPSB says:

She sounds like Elaine Benes trying to convince her psychiatrist/boyfriend who she wants to break up with: “Don’t concern yourself with me, because I’m – I’m good. I’m – I’m very good, I mean I’m really very, VERY good.”

    • quantum entanglement says:

HAHAHA, that reference. Is that the one where she tried to convince him that she and Kramer were dating, to get out of the relationship?

  4. Hannah says:

    Meh!

  5. Kiddo says:

“Ironically, the people with whom I choose to share my life or by whom I’m compelled just so happen to be unwitting proponents, like a distracting force. Um, WHAT?

    • jinni says:

So it’s not just me who doesn’t understand what in the hell she’s trying to say? This is what happens when you are trying to sound deep, but instead end up sounding like Oswald Bates from that In Living Color sketch.

      • Mytbean says:

She’s saying that it sucks because she is now constantly fighting to remain focused on her forever goal (acting career) when faced with the new priority of marriage.

      • Kiddo says:

        unwitting proponents? Pfffthahaha

    • Bridget says:

I was surprised Bedhead thought she made a good point because that’s just a word salad there.

    • burnsie says:

Ok thank the lord it wasn’t just me who didn’t get that. When Bedhead said it was a good point I thought I had a case of the dumbs

      • Kiddo says:

I think you were compelled by a distracting force which is a very similar situation of where you are confronted with distracting forces and proponents from where you see the message.

        So are we clear now?

    • Kristen says:

Thought I just hadn’t had enough coffee yet, but after coffee, that STILL doesn’t make sense..

  6. Jayna says:

Johnny doesn’t do well alone. He wants his partner with him the majority of the time, not the hard-to-find-time-to-be-together scenario because both are equally as busy . This marriage won’t last because of that reason.

    • jinni says:

That’s not true. He would be off on a set while Vanessa stayed with the kids in LA so that they could have a stable childhood in one place unlike the one he had and they (JD and VP)made it work for years.

He is a serial monogamist, but he doesn’t need to be up under his woman all of the time.

    • Gigi says:

Amber only works what…2 or 3 months (if at all) out of the year?
Sorry, but the hard-to-find-time-to-be-together scenario is pure BS.

  7. Nicole says:

She looks a heck of a lot better in Johnny’s clothes than he does. Or than she does in a dress. Girl is gorgeous. There, I admitted it too. Can I still hate on her?

    • Shambles says:

Lmao. Yes, Nicole, I think you can. I know exactly what you mean. I will grudgingly admit that she’s a hottie mctottie, but I still don’t like her as a person. There. We both said it.

  8. lisa2 says:

I don’t know. it sounds like they haven’t really started “being married” yet.

    this?
He has his life, and I have mine, and our challenge is to be able to find time to be together.

I know a marriage is two individual people.. but a marriage can’t really be two people living their “own lives”.. if that is the way then just date or live together. I think she is trying hard to not be seen as Johnny’s wife. I get that it must be hard, but it sounds like she and Johnny are not doing this marriage thing together.

  9. CFY says:

I don’t know. The woman who is now semi-famous because she married up and went from what, D list to C list, is complaining that a) other people want to cash in on their 15 minutes by giving the happy, very happy couple a hard time, b) it’s soooo hard to focus on her career when everyone else wants to focus on her marriage, c) but after she got engaged she went around covering her left hand thereby drawing attention to it, d) “confessed” she gives fake stories to her friends to sell to the tabs to weed out who is loyal and who isn’t, because she’s that important and because that won’t perpetuate the cycle at ALL.

Mmmkay Mrs. Depp. Her thirst is making me crave a nice cold drink.

  10. Crumpet says:

    “We’re very happy. Very.”

Someone who is lying will overstate the lie. That second ‘very’ tells all. I’m sure she hopes and wishes and wants them to be happy, but obviously Johnny is in a dark place and I feel as if she has relegated herself to being his keeper. She loves him, I have no doubt. She is young and hopes that it will be enough to ‘save’ him. But old farts like myself know differently. I actually feel sorry for her.

    • Ankhel says:

Nah. They’ll divorce, for obvious reasons, and probably in less than five years. She will learn, hopefully, and find a better match while still young enough to have kids, if she wants ’em. From Johnny she’ll get some happy memories, a hundred interesting stories – and a ton of cash. Sorry for her? Hah!

      • Kiki says:

I hope they do get a divorce. I wish no ill on anyone, especially JD, but this self-entitled, narcissist little brat, needs to be put off and go on her merrily way. Now usually I don’t care for actors, but I don’t like her at all.

  11. Indira says:

She’s gorgeous but I cannot understand what she says. She was on Fallon the other day and I think she was maybe trying to be dry and sarcastic but it just came off as awkward. Strange girl.

  12. Dunne says:

I’ve never seen the big hooplah over her. Obviously she’s attractive, but there’s nothing about her that stands out as being particularly gorgeous. She looks like everyone in Hollywood.

  13. Kym says:

We’re happy. We are very very happy.
Today I’m in my very very boho indie early 90’s folk singer disguise. Johnny’s in a closet very very inebriated.
So very very happy you’re happy.

    • InvaderTak says:

Reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday after she was drugged up and sleeping in Gregory peck’s apartment.

  14. Tina says:

I can’t with her after her vapid, ignorant interview about dog gate in Australia.

  15. A.Key says:

“He has his life, and I have mine, and our challenge is to be able to find time to be together.”
    Really?
I’m not married, but damn, isn’t it strange to say something like that about your newlywed husband??
Sounds like a 50 year old wife doing interviews for couples therapy.

  16. Dibba says:

Who the hell is this woman? She looks like a skank

  17. VivienLeigh says:

Please remind me WHY he married her?!!

  18. pegasus says:

    How very.

  19. Jemma says:

she just show her true self with that interview… Speaking of 15 minutes of fame, shes lucky Johnny agreed to marry her… Cause nobody knew who she was before Depp!! She has no talent and no charisma…plus she sounds stupid!!! Wow!! Stupid girl with zero talent… That’s depp’s kind of girl…….not impress!!!!!

  20. Lesley says:

I see it now…..that word salad FINALLY convinced me……She’s so much smarter, deeper, hipper and more avant-gard In her thinking than us. Oh right, and happier too
