These are photos of Caitlyn Jenner looking a little toasty in NY after a power dinner. On Sunday Caitlyn attend a sponsored event in NY City during Gay Pride. Last night, Monday, she went to dinner at Tutto Ilgiorno with other trans women including actress Candis Cayne (Dirty Sexy Money) and model Geena Rocero. Caitlyn tweeted the photo below and captioned it “Such a fun dinner in NYC w/ this powerful group of trans women. They are all so beautiful.”
Caitlyn was wearing a black Herve Leger bandage dress which looked very 2007/2008. She looks gorgeous and her styling is excellent, I just think she needs to step up her style game now that she’s in the spotlight. Kaiser and I were emailing about this, and she wrote that Caitlyn needs more fashion help from Kim and that she would love it if Kanye was all “IMMA STYLE YOU CAITLYN.” Kaiser said that “if Caitlyn steps out in an ill-fitting onesie or see-through skirt, we’ll know Yeezus had a hand in it.” Caitlyn was wearing a see-through skirt yesterday, so that’s definitely a possibility, but she didn’t have enough t&a to meet Kanye’s exacting standards. Plus the bandage dress, Kanye would never put a woman in a bandage dress. (I basically stole that whole paragraph from Kaiser’s email, she may as well have written it.)
Earlier in the day Caitlyn visited The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center on West 13th St. She wore a navy wrap dress and sandals and you can see her outfit here and here. I’m not going to complain much about Caitlyn’s casual style because I own several variations of that same dress. I love wrap dresses!
Also, I know many of you have complained of Caitlyn burnout. When a story is getting widespread coverage and there’s not much else going on (holiday is coming, ‘yall) it’s hard to pass it up. In order to bring you enough stories, we sometimes have to cover news which some of you will dislike and complain about. That’s just the gossip business. Sure Caitlyn is getting a ton of coverage and she’s basically a Kardashian but I’m still excited to see her.

My mom signed me up for ballet lessons as a kid for the specific reason of preventing me from slouching. My posture is still quite good, but alas I tower over everyone and get alllll the “funny” jokes about it. Giant, wookie, how’s the weather up there, do you play basketball, wow you’re really tall (like I didn’t know), etc.
I agree. It’s just not a very flattering dress. And ffs stand up straight, I’ve never understood that about tall women. I’m a tall woman and I LOVE towering over people. Deep down, I get a thrill from looking down at opposing counsel when we are standing at the bench. And shorter men are drawn to me like moths to the flame. I think they like the head-at-bosom-level thing.

I will say she does have a very happy glow about her. Being yourself is damn beautiful.
Now that she’s come out, Bruce’s facial surgeries make much more sense. I was always confused by Bruce’s facial surgeries because he was (obviously) a man who looked strangely and unflatteringly feminised via surgery. Even the botched 80s surgery. Perhaps it wasn’t botched, but an early attempt at a more feminised face, but because Bruce was still a man, it was judged harshly.
Caitlyn’s face is amazing. She looks like she’s had surgical intervention, but without knowing anything about her, that would be my only judgement. It’s well done, and she’s pretty. She doesn’t look like she’s been photoshopped too much. And she looks less plastic than Kim.

I actually love the nose, on Bruce it didn’t work, on Caitlyn it’s very California wasp. I love that she hasn’t messed with her lips (much?). Her overall look is not plastic at all compared to some of the K clan, hope she stays that way/avoids too many fillers and things.

CB, you probably have better things to do than reply to superficial questions, but…. where did you get yours?! I’ve been looking for a wrap dress like this for at least a year. It seems simple enough, but I can’t find anything that’s breathable AND big-boob-friendly. Caitlyn’s wrap looks so comfortable!
Also superficial: it seems she has a much better plastic surgeon than her ex-wife and stepdaughter. Transitions are NOT about “passing” or looking beautiful, and facial surgery is a real privilege… but the shallow side of me is happy she didn’t turn into a cat-faced creepster.
I own this dress but I got it much cheaper from ideel.com. I also have a dress similar to this by Paniz but lighter which I also got from ideel. I have a problem with those daily sale sites like ideel and ruelala. You can get great deals! Also I love to talk about superficial stuff!

I think she’ll figure it out pretty quick. She told Kim on KUWTK that she was really good at doing make up, then in the promo for her show she said getting it done professionally made a big difference. She’ll be knocking them out of the park with the help of a stylist in no time.

Please don’t crucify me for this comment but I am very disappointed in Caitlyn. I have always been team Bruce and I thought it was great that he break free from his witch of a wife.Also I am old enough to have witnessed his athletic accomplishments and can’t forget what a huge deal it was and rightly so. I believe that you should live your authentic self .I admire what Caitlyn and others endure to this end. BUT I cannot get over the fact that Bruce had no real relationship with his first four children and he says this is true. The excuse is that PMK (who I loathe) made him do it. This from a guy that is strong enough physically and most important mentally to achieve what he had before PMK? This is the same person who also let his 2 younger daughters become the uneducated prostitures of their mother. And now it looks like Bruce Jenners authentic self is Caitlyn Jenner. No… it is Caitlyn Kardashian with the pap walks and values of the rest of the.clan I thought he would set a tremendous example and work to help others with gender issues and all that follows. Now I see the wardrobe , I see a fame whore galore. I See someone who is saying that she can out Kartrashian all of them.So sad.

I hope she is able to reconnect with and take responsibility for her children now that she is (hopefully) more at peace with herself, and in a more supportive environment. People make mistakes, and yes, ditching your children is a very big one, that can prove impossible to make up for. Now, speaking as someone who was essentially abandoned by my father as well and only met him a few times during my childhood… I’m sure all relevant parties know she screwed up big time, and that’s on her, but I wouldn’t wish my father to be villified his entire life for the mistake he admittedly made under similar circumstanses. People try to talk themselves into thinking they’re doing the right thing when they’re really just doing what’s easier. That makes them weak, self-centered maybe, but not a monster.
@Bunny Love – I was a pretty big defender of Bruce’s after the Diane Sawyer interview, and while I’m happy that Caitlyn gets to be herself finally, I completely agree with you that it is really disturbing how crappy Bruce’s relationship was with his four older kids. Taking a good look at Kylie’s life is all the proof I need to see that Bruce’s parenting was still shitty, even if he was around and some kind of doting father to Kendall and Kylie. We are literally watching Kylie slowly but surely turn into an absolute train wreck and “St. Caitlyn” is a huge part of the reason why. Everyone has their demons. We are all flawed and it is absolutely true that living a lie can certainly detract you from giving anything your all, but if we’re being honest, hasn’t Bruce always lived selfishly? Yes, Caitlyn gets her time to finally 100% be true to herself, but it isn’t like Bruce ever lived a life for anyone but himself anyway, now he just gets to live as a woman, the way he always wanted to.
It’s wrong that people are acting like Caitlyn Jenner is some amazing, wonderful person. I was brought to tears by Bruce’s interview with Diane Sawyer and I find it amazing that she is finally free, but it is definitely not right that people are acting as if she is some sort of saint now.
As far as people thinking she is a famewhore, even if she is, I think it’s a great thing for the trans movement. There was once a time when gay people couldn’t be gay openly in public. It is thanks to the pioneers over the years who were brave enough to get out there and FORCE people to see them openly behave in the way that was natural to them that gay people are now (for the most part) totally accepted by the population and have made strides to gain the same rights everyone else has. The trans movement really does need a famewhore like Caitlyn to show people brazenly, “you knew me as Bruce, and now you’re gonna see me as Caitlyn and you’re going to accept it because this is real life and gender identity confusion is real.” Caitlyn is paving the way for people out there who may be too afraid to take that extra step.
Yeah, it doesn’t take from her selfishness. I watched a little of the special focusing on her transition and was a little appalled at (then) his total apathy of his younger daughters’ feelings. He didn’t try to reassure them even when Kendall explicitly said, in tears, that she was going to miss Bruce. He seemed more pissed off than anything else. He didn’t even try to understand that while for him it was a liberation and authentication of himself that to his teenage daughters they felt like they were losing their dad. He demanded a lot of support but seemed unwilling to give it. It seems especially sad when his youngest seems like such a lost soul. We can throw terms like ‘train wreck’ around all we want but Kylie Jenner seems more of a directionless child with too much money, too much time and too many adults far more concerned with themselves than giving that child a solid base (besides heaps of cash and fame for nothing… not a great combination).
That being said, this publicity is great for the trans community in the mainstream and she does seem very supportive of other trans women which is great but, yes, there were a few vulnerable people allowed to fall between the cracks along the way.

I am very happy for Caitlyn, and the trans community for having such a cultural moment and gaining the visibility and acceptance that has been long over due. However, I do see Caitlyn’s post and think back to Laverne Cox’s comments about how trans acceptance shouldn’t be tied to how well an individual represents the status quo beauty standards.
Much like how I think about my words when I am around my nieces, I hope those in the trans community realize their value is not just based on the surface, whether they are “beautiful” or not, but it is so much deeper.

I always get the feeling this was as much about turning back the clock as turning on the hormones. I was, and still am, a cheerleader for the courageous change..but I just recently watched the episode of kuwtk where he’s discussing it with Kim..all about the clothes..that’s it. Hey Caitlyn..you can wear the jeans and polo shirts you lived in before and be a woman..spanx and four inch heels do not define our sex. Would an accepted openly cross-dressing Bruce have felt the need for this change? I wonder.
I was kind of put off by that too (the Kim segment). But to be fair, superficial topics or talking about Kim is probably the only way possible to genuinely relate to her, and considering the rest of the family “adults” appear less than supportive on camera it kind of makes sense to be grasping at straws with Kim. I’m sure there has to be more to it than clothes and makeup for someone to switch genders, especially at such a late stage in life.
There’s a picture floating around on the Internet of Caitlyn in jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt with some small-heeled platform sandals. It was a normal casual outfit you would see on any average woman. I get where you’re coming from, but maybe for someone who has always longed to be a woman it means a lot to be able to be as feminine as possible. I think maybe the interest in dressing up is just an interest in being really feminine.

The bandage dress doesn’t do her any favors, it only accentuates the fact that she slouches and she has no waist. Also, as a transgender she has not had to deal with the post pregnancy body issue and she still manages to look like she should have passed on the skin tight attire. To me her current value system is glaring in what she, or someone else chose for her to wear – body over substance. This has Kartrashian written all over it. And if it is true that she had help from her daughter, the model, then I can see how warped the younger ones are as well from the horrid parenting they have received. Next she will be wearing lace over underwear a la Kim and the youngest one and the advert will be complete, “My body is all I have, I have no flipping substance or self worth except to Instagram the heck out of myself and have TMZ on speed dial like my ex”.
I find this story sad because it makes me believe that Bruce was so caught up in living his truth that his two daughters were left alone in the coop with a fox and CPS should have stepped in. Did these girls finish any sort of education besides the over sexualized one they got from ALL the women in their household??? I fear the girls he abandoned to Kris will not fare well in the long run and that saddens me deeply. Caitlyn is having her day now but what Bruce did or did not do as a father will last longer as an outcome for Kylie and Kendall so I have a hard time celebrating this transformation since I feel he left two wounded people In the hands of the enemy.
Caitlyn has a really athletic body and I’m not sure if hormones will make a difference, but that is why the dress is less than flattering. I noticed that Laverne Cox’s body is progressively becoming less muscular and more feminine and she seems to just get more gorgeous and feminine as the days go by. Perhaps the same will happen for Caitlyn as far as being able to obtain a more feminine physique.

I can’t shade it too much, she’s still getting used to dressing her body in public and is bound to probably have some issues adjusting to a public setting. Besides that, it really doesn’t look that bad. Dated, yes okay, slightly, but not bad.

I prefer the second dress she wore, more classy with a C not a K.
