Here are some street-style photos of Beyonce out in NYC yesterday. According to Vogue, Beyonce’s high-slit dress is by Self-Portrait. According to the Beyhive on Twitter, it was hot as hell in NYC yesterday and Bey had no reason (other than “fashion”) to pair her Self-Portrait dress with a leather jacket. People are also making fun of Bey for being “vegan” while still wearing leather. But that one is easier to explain – Beyonce’s loosey-goosey veganism isn’t really full-on vegan (she’s more of a lactose-shunning pesca-vegetarian) AND Beyonce’s diet doesn’t have anything to do with animal rights. She doesn’t eat red meat AND she wears leather, ostrich, snakeskin and whatever kind of animal pelt you’ve got.
Anyway, I think Beyonce looks good, although this seems more like a September-October look rather than “beginning of summer.” Speaking of Beyonce’s style, I was reading this interesting profile of stylist Jenke Ahmed Tailly yesterday and it’s really worth a read if you care about how a celebrity’s look evolves, or if you’re interested in Beyonce and Kim Kardashian’s style. Tailly worked with Beyonce as her personal “creative director” for years after styling her for a magazine cover. They parted ways after her album 4, and he went freelance. Which is how he came to style Kim Kardashian. Because of course Kim hired Beyonce’s old stylist. Tailly tells Elle about Kim: “Being African, I particularly find her body proportions so beautiful. But also, like Beyoncé, Kim is a perfect example of a person who is so internally beautiful, with such great values and work ethic.” Um… Kim’s probably going to tattoo that quote on her face, she loves it so much. PS… does anyone else think it’s funny that Beyonce is carrying her Mac like it’s her clutch? She’s not carrying a purse, just her laptop.

She looks really pretty- glowing skin, voluptuously rockin’ body, and black looks sharp as hell on her in the right lighting. All I can say is that I’d like to see her change her hair up a bit. The signature Beyoncé ‘do– long, loose honey blonde waves– is getting kind of tired. I would love to see her rock an edgy cut in a darker brown.
ETA: a Beyoncé song came on as I was typing this comment. The Beeyzus sees my (mostly) compliment, and It is pleased.

I liked the stylist guy’s sentiments, but if Kim’s outfits are a product his his styling…………. well, then I don’t think very highly of his skill. Of course she could be stuffing herself into ugly clothes at her own or Kanye’s behest, not the stylist’s, but he seems to want to take credit for her looking terrible so who knows.
I’m honestly just glad I didn’t see a portrait of Beyoncé on Beyoncé’s dress when I clicked the link, because that’s honestly what I was expecting when I clicked “Beyoncé’s Self-Portait Dress.”

To me, it looks like a lack of makeup. She looks like she’s wearing a minimal amount as opposed to the excess that’s normally used for concealing, contouring, etc.
Naw, the bottoms pics do show something weird around her mouth area. Like Botox or something. Hmmmm
I see no makeup. That’s how she looks in all her minimal/no makeup photos. When she starts botoxing, you won’t need anyone to point it out cos she has deep laugh lines and then she looks tired.
I dunno about Bey’s style but I like that she’s not afraid to step onto the streets with 10 pounds of makeup and a face contoured into oblivion. As a 21 year old who isnt into makeup, I love it. As opposed to Kim kardashian or even rihanna (was actually shocked the day I saw rihanna’s face bare) even though they look good with their makeup. That being said, her style is lacking but I can forgive her for that(like she cares. Lol). I would do anything to have her confidence tho.

Right, she is gorgeous with her natural hair and hair color. She goes light but I don’t think the light hair and red lip suites her.
Yes – The red seems too bright and flat for her. the more I look at her hair the more wrong it seems — too long, too bushy in the in wrong place and the color is too much like her skin tone, there not enough of a complementary contrast (I have the same complaint about JLo and Cate Blanchette (and how fun to put all three of them in the same sentence lol)).
I think it’s odd that someone goes through that much trouble to put a “look” together, but doesn’t use a laptop case.

I was so confused about the headline (granted I can’t read), but I thought her face would be on the outfit, or that this was some esoteric artist babbly-babble about her clothes being a symbolic self portrait and here it was just the name of a brand….Much disappoint. Maybe Asian Beyonce will have a face outfit.
I was expecting a dress with her face on it too, which now makes me want to wear clothes with my own face on it.
I totally thought that, too! I expected to see her wearing those (awful) round sunglasses & a spandex dress with a picture of herself styled as Mona Lisa or something screen printed on the front.
