Mayer is very Internet-savvy, and Twitter is a good way for celebrities to market themselves and communicate with their fans. Maybe JA finally convinced Mayer to drop it. It sounds like he has been in the throes of song-writing and recording and was using Twitter as a way to avoid working.

Here’s John Mayer’s latest tweet: “Okay, let’s put it to bed: YES, Twitter is inherently silly. We will deny we ever loved it in 5 years. Doesn’t mean I don’t love you all. XO”
