That Nicolas Cage video made me laugh so hard that I scared my cats. More of this, please!

    • JenniferJustice says:

He should have tried out for Loki not SuperMan….and that hair. OMG!

      • Hawkeye says:

Basically, all of Hollywood should just go home and stay there, because Nicolas Cage has got this!

      • I came here to say exactly that. It is time for him to go a few shades lighter, or better yet, just embrace the silver. Maybe even if only just a wee bit. I full on hate the look of overdyed hair on a guy. I sat behind a dude on a transatlantic flight just a few days ago, and had AMPLE time to stare at his silver roots coming through and ponder this. I give the Chris Noth example as a perfect sampling population, He looks better without the shoe polish, IMO.

Great job Team USA. I think this is Abby’s last year and what a way to go out.

“Remember when Nicolas Cage was going to play Superman?”

Actually no. My mind had blocked that out in self-defense. Thanks for bringing it up.😖

  4. InvaderTak says:

Well, not linked here but Lena dunhams ego is about to get even bigger: the older obama daughter will be interning on girls this summer. As if she wasnt insufferable before….(Lena not miss o.)

  5. Jag says:

They had to have been trolling or pranking him, right? There’s no way that he has the chiseled looks that Superman the character requires.

I agree that he could’ve tried for Loki, but Hiddles is the best of all time.

i don’t bc i was too young to remember it in 1997, and i liked my life better when i didn’t know. thanks celebitchy, you ruined it!

Anybody want to discuss the Hope Solo situation? I’m not sure how I feel about it.

    • Hawkeye says:

Are you referring to her being allowed to play (sorry, I’m not sure if there’s recent news or if it’s about being part of the team because of her assaults)?

      • Size Does Matter says:

I read an article quoting her sister about what happened in that domestic violence incident. And I believe the soccer people basically did nothing. Maybe I’m wrong about whether there were any repercussions from soccer, but if she were an NFL player she would have been vilified and suspended if not terminated.

      • Hawkeye says:

I think that athletes in general are given a massive pass on bad behaviour because of how much money they make for other people. She should not have been allowed to play, and this should apply to every sport and every professional athlete. I suggest that the recent NFL suspensions/terminations are the exception, not the norm, and pretty recent. (And the NFL is way more of a moneymaker than professional soccer too, so I can see the pressure being much greater on the league to act.) Professional athletes are revered in a way that I will never understand. I cannot get my head around how someone playing basically a game makes more money and is looked up to more than teachers, doctors, engineers, journalists and even the POTUS.

My brother is a police officer, and I’m a pastor, and we sometimes get into discussions about what it means to allow an offender/ex-offender back into society, especially when that person is a celebrity. For instance, you can argue that what happened between Hope Solo and her partner/family members is a private matter, not related to actually doing her job, and she doesn’t owe the public an apology or explanation. On the other hand, you can say that she does, because she’s in the public eye and because admitting that you’re wrong is the honest way to ask for and earn forgiveness. (And then you can ask, who’s forgiveness?)

      • JenniferJustice says:

revered and highly paid, agreed, not to mention the fact that if it’s a valuable player needed to win a big game, well…..nuff said.

      • Size Does Matter says:

I get that at this point she hasn’t been convicted of anything and is innocent until proven guilty, but still.

I don’t want there to be any way to tarnish this victory for those women – no questionable calls, no failed drug tests, no injured opposing players who would have made the difference for their teams. The fact that Hope Solo was allowed to play and in fact contributed to the victory is something the beaten opponents can point to as unfair. It diminishes the extraordinary effort and dedication of all the players. And I hate that for them.

I totally agree about the messed up priorities in this country. It starts in elementary school. The popular kids are the good athletes who get picked first to be on teams, not the brilliant, uncool kids who might make a real difference in the world by curing cancer or something.

      • Hawkeye says:

@Size Does Matter, I understand. I never even thought about how the other team would have felt. My own opinion is that Hope Solo should have been replaced; there are plenty of talented players out there to choose from who can uphold the ideals that professional sports are supposed to represent.

      • Lucky Charm says:

I thought she had been suspended for several games earlier in the season, so why would her playing now affect the way the other teams feel about this game?

  8. Tash says:

This made me shudder. Makes me appreciate that Cavill fella even though he is off-putting to me.

  9. Laura says:

I donated to this Kickstarter campaign to make that documentary!!! I’m so excited to finally see the documentary in just a few more days. It’s out on July 9th for anyone that is interested. I’m so glad the doc is getting so much press. This movie would have been SO EPIC!! 😀

  10. greenmonster says:

Would it be considered as failing in life if your job description includes “pushing up Nicholas Cage’s a$$ in a latex suit”?

    • JenniferJustice says:

I’m especially loving the fake mucles built in the suit – look at the calves. *snort*

    • Hawkeye says:

I think that’s how you know you’ve won in life and can die a fulfilled person.

    • Tiffany says:

HELL NO. Will still be at the top of my resume. Spend thd entire interview talking about it.

  11. LAK says:

He is too creepy looking to play a boyscout like Superman. Perhaps someone darker, like Batman – his alter ego in KICKASS.

  12. Nuna says:

I like Nicolas Cage. He’s a very good actor. Creepy look but a good actor. I’m glad Superman didn’t work out for him. He’s good in those straight to DVD films like Next, Knowing, and Lord of War.

  13. Wisteria says:
