Me too. When I first read the description, I wondered what is Kate Winslet doing in the Lifetime movie, but I loved this trailer. The fashion, the cinematography! It gives me serious Big Fish vibes – very fairytale-like but in a best way.

About that link to the Harper Lee story–I haven’t read “Go Set a Watchman,” but based on all of the spoiler-ridden reviews I’ve read, it seems to me like this may’ve been a case of an elderly woman being taken advantage of because this book did not need to be published. Harper’s sister Alice was notorious for being the “gatekeeper” to Harper, and I find it very suspicious that it was only after Alice died that the push to publish this book even came about. I don’t believe it was really Harper’s idea considering she certainly isn’t interested in the fame or fortune and never was. I think it was just a ploy for money because whoever forced her into it knew that anything with the name “Harper Lee” on it would sell.
I think there is reason to be concerned. There is enough evidence to assume Harper isn’t of sound mind anymore and I believe the publishing of “Go Set a Watchman” was completely unnecessary. There is a reason it was passed over years ago, and I hate to see the woman who wrote a literary classic that has touched SO many lives have her reputation at all tarnished by people who are going to hold this book (that was originally scrapped) against her. I hope people stop buying it so the jerks taking advantage of her can stop lining their pockets.
I agree with you 100%. This is just not right. I cancelled my pre-order from Amazon.
Atticus was based on her father, and very likely the original manuscript (which this sequel is, the flashbacks to her childhood were worked into To Kill a Mockingbird) was her true story. It may have bothered her sister enough that Harper didn’t publish it during her lifetime. Harper is 89 years old and losing her sight and hearing, but that doesn’t mean she is incapable of knowing what she wants to do. And maybe she wants to get the true story out, warts and all. I’ve known quite a few people in their eighties and nineties (and one over 100) who were quite competent. The body can wear out long before the mind.
I rank Luke ahead of Liam in terms of Hemsworth brother hotness. Not being over 6 feet tall is not a deal breaker for 5’4″ me. Perhaps one of our Aussie friends can comment on their respective popularity in Australia.

I love Kate, so I am looking forward to this. And you know what, Liam Hemsworth looks charming in this. I usually find him dull onscreen and I prefer Chris, but he had me double taking him in this trailer.
I’m quite impressed that Kate Winslet can do a convincing Australian accent, not many actors can.

Kate Winslet’s Australian accent is very good. She’s one of the few non-Aussies who can pull it off. I heard it first in Jane Campion’s Holy Smoke but it sounds even better here.
As for the 14 year age difference… it’s so nice to see the typical movie ages reversed that I don’t mind!

I fully support 39 year old Kate with 25 year old Liam. Makes for a nice switcheroo on the old man young woman thing. Plus they are both smoking hot, and totally believable that he would be into her. (That’s what I don’t get when you have Jack playing a normal guy that a 30 year younger woman is into… Can see how she would go for real Jack for the money and name and stuff, but Jack off the street, with a normal job… hardly going to charm the pants off a younger woman).
Plus I love seeing older woman/younger man shown in a fun sexy way. Selfishly because my love is 10 years younger than 45 year old spinster me! And it’s a pretty good time for all involved. 😉
I just don’t see the hotness in Liam. He has good hair, and a nice body, but that’s it. The beard definitely needs to go, imo.
So today should be a Cosby update day for sure! Whoopi has recanted her support of him, saying that since the statute of limitations has run out, that he can’t be proven guilty so she was wrong. And she’s encouraging people to call Legislators to get rape laws changed so that there isn’t a limit on pressing charges.
Then a former cast member, Joseph C Phillips wrote a blog post saying “Of Course Bill Cosby is Guilty.”
And last but not least, The Smithsonian Institute has said that it will continue to show a collection of Cosby’s which features black artists. They are going to put up a sign which says that they don’t agree with his choices or some such rubbish.
