Was Tom Hiddleston spotted in London with ‘girlfriend’ Elizabeth Olsen?

Months ago, in May, we heard that Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen were maybe hooking up. The story was from Us Weekly and sources claimed that Hiddles and Olsen had gotten friendly while working together on I Saw the Light last year, and somehow some on-set fooling around had turned into a tentative relationship. While I believed that it was perfectly possible that Olsen and Hiddles could have hooked up on the set, I tended to NOT believe they were still dating. Mostly because he’s been working on back-to-back projects all over the place and does he really have the time to maintain something? Perhaps it’s more of an on-and-off thing with Olsen though because the Twitter Dragonflies are in a flurry because of some absolutely shady photos that are allegedly of Olsen and Hiddles on what seems like the streets of London?

I’ll go the distance and say that it’s Hiddleston-from-behind in that photo. But is that Olsen? Hm. Further analysis is needed!!! And were these pics taken recently? If Tom is just wandering around London with his arm around a girl, why aren’t the paparazzi taking photos? So many questions.

But sure, Tommy has a girlfriend! The tears of a dragonfly…

He’s a decoy remember? This should be fun. I was rooting for them so why not?

I’m sure some die hards are going to say that’s not a GF, that’s one of his sisters! Wouldn’t he have his arm around the waist of a gf?? Around the shoulders means they’re just friends!!1!

    • zzzz says:

because he’s so much taller, wouldn’t it be awkward to hold her waist? just seems like the shoulders are a comfier choice.

      • Katie says:

I’m 4’10”. Husband is 6′. He rarely holds anything but my shoulders because it’s awkward to reach so low!! I could totally but Tom and Lizzie together. I approve of this.

  2. GlimmerBunny says:

That could definitely be her. The height, hair and legs match. I think they’d be a cute couple!

    • NUTBALLS says:

I tend to think it’s her too, despite the lack of facial evidence. I know Tom’s affectionate with everybody, but he seemed more self-conscious with JArthy when photogs were present. I can’t help but wonder if he wanted to get this out there to introduce the idea of them as a couple. Laying the foundation for future public appearances together.

I think they look cute together, but seriously doubt it would last beyond the Oscars. I just hope his campaign doesn’t look like the his friend’s from last year…

    • Lk says:

Noooo i would hate to see him around the Olsens; i ship him and Jessica Chastain!!! Please dear lord.

      • NUTBALLS says:

I like how good they look together, but I think the dueling personalities would get the best of him and Jess.

      • ell says:

but jessica has a long term boyfriend and has said she tries not to date actors, i don’t it was ever going to happen regardless 😛

    • Kristen says:

On July 5th she was carrying this exact bag when she left her hotel in Paris (after attending fashion week): http://imageshack.com/a/img537/8630/0mvDHO.jpg

      • ncboudicca says:

Eagle eye, you are! Shoes could be the same, too.

      • teacakes (formerly oneshot) says:

yep, she’s the Yellow Purse Girl all right.

(now I covet her handbag even more than I covet Tom, bright handbags are actually a pretty genius idea if you’re like me and end up in neutral-coloured clothing 365 days of the year)

    • Ariadne says:

Oh, girls…They are dating, and pretty much in the ‘honeymoon’ phase. This mine very own eyes told me.
I was torn between: “aww, so, so cute and adorable” and “Why am I not blinded by this?”
Needless to say, I ate my heart out in the marketplace, with some cheap plastic bottled wine, made a collage of Metallica’s ‘Kill em all’ and GN’R’s ‘Use your Illusion I & II’, and binge-watched several Austen-original and inspired-by films, just to keep my momentum going. As it is, I find myself in the bargaining stage.

P.S. The Twitter photo is from Sunday, methinks.

      • Bea says:

How did I miss this post. Moaaaaar!!1!1!1

      • Ariadne says:

@Bea…more? As in, I think there’s a fire burning there. No show. Alas!
It was all “Can’t take my eyes off you” and “It’s in his kiss”. The lord of the dragonflies got a butterfly.

      • Bea says:

I was expecting a detailed dirty exposé my friend, you are classy.

      • Catherine says:

@Ariadne, cryptic. Her or him, or both?

      • waitwhat says:

        @catherine @ariadne Very cryptic.

Honeymoon phase seems about right, though.

      • Ariadne says:

        @Catherine @waitwhat

You have to see it in motion to believe it. There is this electricity, the intimacy of movement that young lovers have (as in the beginning). The smiles and the little gestures – or the very significant ones – all a giveaway.
Love to be a fly on the wall to listen to the conversations though. Not that there would be many at this point. I think…

      • Madly says:

Why are you guys even asking? Lol. This person could be writing fan fiction for all you know.

      • Absolutely says:

        Errr…this is getting creepy. 😮

    • Anne tommy says:

I see the yellow bag issue is discussed above…good luck to them if they are dating, he’s certainly much more attractive than rumoured squeeze Captain Spandex The secret husband…

      • Bea says:

Come on now, Cap Spanx in all his hairy chested brunette glory is a sight to behold.

  3. Elyse says:

Whhhyyyy are they wearing jackets in July? Is it that cold in London? Do celebs not sweat? Those jackets for me are like 30/40 degrees F type weather.

    • Fran says:

Yep, it was quite breezy in London! Still kinda is.

    • sarah says:

In the summer London rarely gets out the low 70s, and it’s in the 50s at night.

    • AG-UK says:

This is England summer = 2
Weeks lol. It’s better today but not summer for my Texas body.

    • Lindy79 says:

Ireland pretty much the same, its warm but raining. You need to allow for 4 seasons of weather in 1 day.

      • Elyse says:

Who wants to marry me so I can live in the UK? I love colder temps.

      • Norman Bates' Mother says:

@Elyse – it’s not always like that. I like colder weather too – not cold, but around 70’s in the summer would be great, but when I lived in the South-West of England last year, it was already over 80 in late April! and the entire August was basically hell on earth. And it only rained for maybe a total of 2 weeks from May to September. October was wetter, but it was still very warm.

      • Franca says:

I’m also volunteering for marriage just to move to somewhere cold. It’s 40 degrees here and very very humid. Words can not explain how much I hate summer.

    • Phoebe says:

THANK YOU @Elyse! He’s got his collar turned up and she’s wearing a TRENCH? In July? in 70F weather? Me thinks these are old photos rehashed- sent to TOBY on Tumblr by an anon, BTW- then forwarded to the DM by “fans”. Notice how she is cut out of the pic where he is sitting? Why? Shady shade.

    • Welcome to the UK. We don’t have summer, so much as “summer”. It may have been breezy and cold in London, but let me tell you, it is NOTHING compared the the complete lack of a summer we’ve had up here in the highlands. We have had the fireplace on for just about a year straight now. I was on the tennis court in June in a down gilet vest and a knit hat. We had gale force 9 winds last weekend for the Lifeboat barbecue, and even the heather in my garden, the kind of plant that is supposed to THRIVE up here, has not been growing this year. It’s grim. In other words, that photo could EASILY be recent.

  4. Lindy79 says:

    Oh here go hell come

  5. Lilacflowers says:

Considering he and Jessica Chastein were equally clingy just a week ago, he may just have a tendency to wrap his arms around anyone who is near him. But any way, here go, hell come. Colin and Mark have deemed some reactions on Twitter a tad scary so they are setting up the free vending machines at the edge of the property, one for food, one for alcohol, for those wishing to partake in the free-for-all. For those just happy for a Tom thread for any reason but who aren’t interested in wild speculation, there is a brunch buffet on the veranda and plenty of adirondack chairs. That’s where I’ll be with nice vodka & tonic for this scorching hot day.

    • ell says:

jessica chastain is always super friendly and affectionate with her co-stars. all of them.

    • Lilacflowers says:

I recommend the lemon ricotta pancakes. They are especially delicious. Colin is pleased with the new chef he hired.

      • Antonym says:

I had to stop reading and immediately Google recipes for lemon ricotta pancakes…..yum

    • Miss Jupitero says:

I suspect that a.) he has a girlfriend of some sort, however casual, because who is going to leave Tom all by his lonesome? This isn’t the Recency era…. and b.) that he is affectionate and demonstrative. I personally am well known for draping myself around my friends.

    • lila fowler says:

She always hangs all over her costars, pretends like they are best friends.

      • Secret squirrel says:

I think Tom might be the best kind of friend a girl could have (i.e. Beneficial!)…

    • Lilacflowers says:

Colin would also like those on the veranda to know he picked the raspberries himself this morning

Whatever happened to Nerdist and the SDCC podcast?

    • Abby_J says:

I’ll be there for brunch in my “Team ScarLoki” t-shirt.

Sorry, I am bad at shipping names. Maybe Scarlet Loki? Haha!

  6. Freshmeat says:

As posted on an old thread. Until I see their faces definitively it’s still questionable that’s it’s in fact EO. That being said they’re adults so their choice. I still however don’t really see their compatibilty other than working together.
@lindy its here get out the fireproof suits!

    • EN says:

      It is EO.

      • Freshmeat says:

Not fully saying that it’s not, but I still need a face pic.

      • TotallyBiased says:

I’m with Freshmeat–it just seems hinky that the other half of the table is cut out of the one pic. Why?

      • Freshmeat says:

@TB Exactly my thought. I’m just thinking if you’re going so far as to actually take, crop, smudge and post the picture why would you leave her out. You’d want her fully visible as solid proof.

      • Dara says:

What if the photos were taken on different days? We all know Tom only owns 4 pieces of clothing – he probably wears the same combo a lot, maybe even on consecutive days. What if the person that caught them together didn’t get a good face shot of either but then caught Tom in the same outfit on a different day and figured no one would be the wiser?

Does that theory seem a little too farfetched? The last thing I want to sound like is some fangirl in denial, I’m not grasping at straws – but like y’all I do wonder why the shot at the table was cropped.

      • waitwhat says:

@Dara – not totally far fetched. Definitely possible with his clothes recycling. No more far fetched than ID’ing her from her purse.

    • ican'tsnap says:

Bag & sandals give her away – she’s worn them both recently. I believe it.

  7. Lilacflowers says:

Just curious as to what type of tree that crazy looking green thing is; it seems to have arms. And the photoshop on the guy’s face on the sidewalk is rather creepy.

    • Kiddo says:

Did you have a Cosby special cocktail this morning? I can not find these pictures you speak of.

ETA: Nevermind, twitter pic. Yeah, in the guy’s face, it looks like they used the “Brown paper bag tool” in photoshop.

    • Secret squirrel says:

Agree Lilac. I kept zooming up on the guy sitting next to Hiddlesberry and wondering if it was a scarf over his face or the “smudge” fix in Photoshop. Almost forgot to look at the rest of the pic!

Think I’ll call that tree the “Igottcha” tree…

    • NUTBALLS says:

Yeah. that paper bag photoshop was bizarre. Let’s put Tom out there front and center, but make sure we respect the privacy of the guy next to him.

    • Naddie says:

Oh, lol! I can totally see a monster-tree with arms wide open

    • Anne tommy says:

The tree is a relative of Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy…the Marvel Universe is all around…

  8. Norman Bates' Mother says:

I’m sure the Tumblr is now full of wannabe-Sherlocks measuring their height difference, the width of Olsen’s shoulders and ankles and looking for an evidence that this picture was PS’d and that Hiddleston was just innocently hugging an especially wide street lamp or a random oak.

    • Ronda says:

Lol that reminded me of the Kristen Stewart cheating pictures where Twihards were trying to tell us its not her ear so it cant be her!

      • Shannon1972 says:

LOL…I thought of Kristen Stewart (and the infamous coinage of minicooper as a verb) too!

No one can lay a hand on my Hiddles…
        *sharpens nails*

  9. Zapp Brannigan says:

Anyone know why she is cropped out of the picture where he is sitting down (at outdoor cafe I presume) and more to the point why am I allowing myself to be dragged into this?

    • Absolutely says:

Haha. Dunno why I am either. It is odd that the photographer didn’t bother to get a pic of who he’s at the table with. Especially since they were obviously there long enough to catch them leaving. Are they behind a tree?
Any hoo, it’s hard to gauge the relationship here. Hope they’re happy, whoever she is and whatever their relationship is.

    • NUTBALLS says:

      Because it’s fun?

      Because we’re bored?

      Because we have no life?

      • Dara says:

        All of above.

And the lemon ricotta pancakes mentioned above – I highly recommend them. I think the chef added fangirl tears to make them especially light and fluffy.

      • NUTBALLS says:

The salt from the tears makes them taste better too.

  10. ell says:

ok, here’s the thing; relationships between actors, models and in general people who have to travel a lot for work, just don’t work the same way as “normal” relationships. it’s their job, so it’s just the way it is, not seeing each other for weeks and months is the normality for them and it’s not much of a big deal. I speak for experience.

as for why hiddleston was not chased by the paps, lmao he’s not tom cruise and most actors who aren’t massive can avoid the paps (and lbr, even HUGE actors can avoid it, angelina and brad are quite rarely papped exactly because they avoid it).

    • Madly says:

And that is also why there is a lot of cheating and breaking up among actors.

      • ell says:

there’s also a lot of cheating and breaking up between “commoners”. look at divorce rates.

      • Madly says:

True , but actors are at a higher percentage and way more access to temptation. There are so many reasons why I would never want to date actors and the propensity to stray with all that temptation is so very high.

      • Ronda says:

yes while fawning over their partners in interviews!

@ell: regular people dont have nowhere near that temptation. its way different turning a guy down who flirts with you in a bar (even if lots of peopel are not able to do that) than to turn down Brad Pitt after making out with him and pretending to be in love with him for weeks.
movie sets are tight little worlds where strong bonds are made, being an actor is always only about yourself and the people in your life will always matter less than your personal satisfaction.

i’d say 99% of the people if they were actors would cheat.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Most commoners aren’t surrounded by beautiful people at work who are looking to plug into their fame and money.

I would hate dating someone who was getting hit on all the time, who spends that much time traveling and working around famewhores. There’s a reason Hollywood romances have a short shelf life.

      • ell says:

maybe actors have more temptations, still given the amount of affairs and break ups i see happening among my peers and work colleagues, I’m always confused when people say hollywood is worse. it might be worse, but only very slightly. one of my sisters is a doctor, and when she talks about her colleagues and the amount of cheating that goes on (these people work incredibly long hours and are away from home a lot, but in theory they don’t have more temptations), I feel like I’m watching grey’s anatomy.

people get bored in long term relationships, and sometimes saying no to the guy who flirts with you at the bar isn’t easy at all.

      • Ronda says:

thats why i said “lots of people are not able to do that” 🙂 but its obviously different, i would trust my partner to flirt in a bar and come home but not being constantly away building a new family (which sets are often described as) and be around mind blowingly beautiful people all the time.

People of all kinds obviously cheat but the acting profession is pretty much made for making people stray. Plus its so much worse having to see the person that cheated on you being fawned over in public. have fun turning the tv on and seeing that face, people struggle with facebook and ex partner i dont want to know how it is when you see your exes face on a huge billboard (maybe even with their new partner that they left you for)

      • NUTBALLS says:

I remember someone who lived in LA saying that actors get hit on every day by co-stars, crew members, staff at events, models etc. It’s pretty much a “given” and expected.

      • sarah says:

@ell YEP! People who say everyone in Hollywood is a horrible philandering cheater and whatnot don’t pay attention to what’s going on with the people around them. It’s no worse in Hollywood than it is anywhere else in the country.

    • Kiki says:

That’s is why I believe actors should date regular people. Yes they’re is temptation but wouldn’t it be better if the actor/actress have someone who they can talk, always here to listen to you about their problems at work and maybe a regular person who can encourage them to be better at their talents. It would be bad enough it two actors fight everyday at something so silly like who get the mirror in the bathroom. And, yes hollywood people tend to have short dating lives and even marriages are a heck of a shamble. That is why actors/actress’s should not date their co-stars, that is grounds for a break-up.

      • Ronda says:

Kiki i agree on the grounds that someone being their rock would be perfect if you have such an unstable life but bringing fame into a regular persons life can be devastating.

Dating a regular person is great for a famous person but terrible for the regular person.

      • NUTBALLS says:

        Couldn’t agree more, Ronda.

      • Kiki says:

@Ronda and Nutball. if that’s the case, there’s the word that means to everyone and that is trust.

      • ell says:

what you describe doesn’t sound like a very balanced relationship to me though. imo, it’s better to date your peers because you tend to be equals. i don’t sympathise with relationships where one person has to be a rock for the other. and i don’t see why 2 actors together couldn’t be encouraging of each others’ potential (in fact the opposite might be true, regular people might not get art in the same way an actor or a musician do).

also, actors aren’t all emotional wrecks or fight for the mirror. this is stereotyping a lot.

  11. Madly says:

It wouldn’t surprise me if they are dating, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they were friends or fwb. And it wouldn’t surprise me if it was film promotion or a summer fling. Didn’t someone say he gets a girlfriend during summers?

Though, I don’t really see it lasting. Come on hiddleston, get a non acting gf for a change.

    • InvaderTak says:

He did. And it was a huge disaster apparently, and not just with the online weirdo fans.

      • Madly says:

How was it a disaster out of online fans?

      • ell says:

they hated her, harassed on twitter (she had to delete) etc etc. i actually think it’s much easier to date someone in the same line of work as you, because you get each other more. and in the case of an actor probably better equipped to deal with that sort of crazy fans.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Yeah, they have a uncommon lifestyle and being surrounded by other actors (who are beautiful and charming) would lend itself to dating within their group, people who understand what it’s like. It doesn’t seem to work out for most of them in the long run though.

      • InvaderTak says:

I can’t find where I read this now so that probably means it was a nutzo fan spewing crap, but around the time of Tahiti-gate, some people were saying she was twitter stalking him and his friends, showing up in places she knew he’d be (that one might have come out of the pic of her at a Coriolanus show) without an invite. Yeah, I guess it’s possible she was nutzo too, but it’s way more likely victim blaming crap. Again, I can’t find where I read that and thinking about it now it’s more than likely BS. I wasn’t acquainted with just exactly how loonie some people are when that went down and it stuck in my mind. Sorry for being misleading!

      • philae says:

@InvaderTak showing up in places I’ve never read, but she would start following people connected to him, for example during SDCC 2013 all of sudden she started following Joss Whedon and Nathan Fillion and then she unfollowed them 2 days later. She did this other times and the reason fans knew it’s because she started following fan accounts soon after Wimbledon. That’s why everyone was checking hers. And she didn’t delete it because she was harassed, she kept her account public and active until after the Tahiti holiday.

    • Secret squirrel says:

Not a lot surprises you then Madly?!!! :0)

      • Madly says:

Nope, especially with a guy who can go deep below radar suddenly being so very open all of a sudden.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Madly, he’s not being open. Judging from what’s on Twitter, whoever took the pictures is a stalker

      • Anon222 says:

Stranger on the street took a photo of you and your friend walking down the street and posted it on TOBY, then someone else stole that pic and sold it to the tabloid, (lol btw). What you gonna do? start living underground? Should he kept a distance from his friend and pretend to not know her, until the bun is in the oven? Can’t you imagine what you would say about him if that’s the case. No need to imagine, it has already happened.

    • NUTBALLS says:

His last known romance wasn’t with an actor.

    • Lilacflowers says:

The last one was not an actress.

    • sarah says:

Why should he get a non-acting girlfriend? Actors live very weird lives that normal people in 9-5 jobs could hardly tolerate. That’s why actors gravitate toward one another, because they understand how each others lives work.

      • Madly says:

That is also why their relationships are so unstable.

      • Kiki says:

I beleive that to be true to, but some regular people like myself also understand that as well. I love Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen I don’t really know her enough in movies but she is pretty and she has nice legs and a girl like myself would kill for. I hope they do have a relationship that lasted more than 2 years.

      • NUTBALLS says:

I thought she was great in Martha Marcy May Marlene.

      • Mary-Alice says:

Many people don’t work 9-5, it’s not actors’ province. I work in arts marketing and my colleagues who do events haven’t heard of 9-5. I can choose but mostly don’t fit into the regular job hours either. Also, quite a few people of my field had or have relationships with more or less well known arts personalities. The break up rate is nothing different from what I see outside our field. If both people want it to work out and are ready to make the effort, it will work out. The problem is few people actually want to make the effort. Besides, without the make up, tne lighting and the photoshop, how beautiful exactly do you think those people are in the morning? In my opinion, not even slightly more beautiful than many of my colleagues and friends. The positive I have seen coming from such relationships is that they are very rarely papped (the non famous person brings to the picture regular places to go and regular things to do which keep the famous person out of range) and they are, overall, more emotionally stable as at least on of the people is not fighting his last impersonation.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Mary-Alice, I know people at international law firms and people who do IT for international banks. They work all hours. Companies here that deal on the Asian markets also have night shifts. The world is getting smaller and work hours are changing.

      • Mary-Alice says:

        @LilacfloweRs

Yes, my brother is a human rights lawyer and works for a big firm with multiple offices abroad.. He can prepare for a case on a beach if he wants but once there is action or the conference calls start he is required to be on the line anytime.

  12. sarah says:

Ehrm, why would the paparazzi be chasing Tom Hiddleston around London?

People seem to have no clue about how the paparazzi work. Sure, they sometimes get calls from publicists for set ups, but the vast majority of the time they work on tips from people in hotels/restaurants/airports, or just hang around areas that they know lots of rich and famous people hang out in.

    • philae says:

Ehm, that is the cafè near Hiddleston’s house, the one all fans know about and it’s located in an area where rich and famous people live and hang out, and paps know he lives there since they papped him when he was preparing the Capa film.

      • ell says:

i think some tom fans need to face the fact he isn’t actually all that well known or famous in britain, and i speak as a londoner.

      • sarah says:

Ok, but that still doesn’t mean a paparazzo is gonna head out there for any reason.

    • Lilacflowers says:

Paps wouldn’t have done that weird photoshop of the other guy’s face and wouldn’t have cropped her out.

    • TotallyBiased says:

These are stalkerfan pics orig posted on The Tumblr That Shall Not Be Named, ostensibly as verification of continued reported sightings. All the more reason I don’t understand why she is cut out of the table pic at G & W.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Ah, that makes as much sense as anything from that nonsense site ever could. So definitely creepy stalker connected with creepy blogger and no actual paps or PR intentions on the part of anyone involved

      • TotallyBiased says:

Exactly! Just our Mr, Hiddleston maintaining his own words: “Live your life!”

  13. BengalCat2000 says:

As a recent convert to his hotness, I don’t blame EO for hitting that. She’s hot too, so good for them!

  14. Caitlin Bruce says:

You might want to update that is deffo Elizebeth the daily mail has a full length picture of her that day she is wearing that outfit with the yellow bag. It’s official people. I think they make a beautiful couple.

    • InvaderTak says:

Wonder if this was intentional so they could ease the super fans into it. Don’t blame them. Maybe they’ll walk a red carpet together sometime.

      • NUTBALLS says:

        That was my thought exactly.

      • Miss Melissa says:

The release of this info has been carefully managed, don’t doubt it.

Which is why I think this is a real thing and has been since they worked together in the fall. They were quiet because she was engaged.

        I like this pairing.

    • Madly says:

Wait, the daily mail has photos and an article up already? Something smells funny.

      • Absolutely says:

Right? Am I getting a whiff of PR? Please don’t do it Tommy. I gotta say though, if it is, at least he’s going the normal PR girlfriend route, ie “dating” the costar. Just don’t pull a Benny and knock her up, Tom. Condoms, condoms, condoms!

      • NUTBALLS says:

        Double bag it, Tommy!

Good thing for him EO is a young and rising star. I wouldn’t expect her to be negligent in contraceptive matters.

      • AG-UK says:

Yep says they were in Oxford.

      • philae says:

@AG-UK no, it’s London, the cafè near his house. I think the DM mentioned Oxford because of something else they read of tumblr.

      • Catherine says:

That DM article is hilarious: “as they wore co-ordinating navy ensembles”, his jacket is black.

    • Zapp Brannigan says:

That full length picture is from Paris fashion week, a few weeks ago. This entire thing was lifted from Tumblr by the Daily Mail, which in fairness is probably the most research the DM has ever done on a story.

Someone (an anon) on Tumblr is claiming they copied the pictures from TOBY and sent the info to the DM, good luck Hiddles just don’t go full Cumberbatch!

      • Caitlin Bruce says:

I just realised this I wasn’t paying to much attention and just saw the headline picture and switched to celebitchy. My bad. The whole PR romance excuse with every couple is starting to get tiresome. Tom’s fans go crazy when he had a GF. PR wise they properly want him to stay single.

    • Absolutely says:

That pic of just her is one that that blog girl found of her with the same bag. Not same day. Different shoes.

    • Catherine says:

That pic was taken in Paris a few weeks ago.

    • Evie says:

The Daily Mail photo of EO was taken in Paris July 5 or 6 where she was attending the Fashion Shows. She was all over the news because she had a wardrobe malfunction — when her skirt flew up.

Also, EO is in Atlanta filming the Captain America: Civil War movie right now. So they may be dating BUT the DM clipped these pics and this particular story from Tumblr in the last couple of days, LOL!

  15. Beth No. 2 says:

Well Oscar season is gonna roll around soon, so is this the annual PR showmance f*ckery? Pundits have been predicting Hiddleston as a potential Best Actor nominee for I Saw The Light.

    *rubs chin*

    • InvaderTak says:

Reeeeeallly hope not. But have to admit it’s a possibility. Still way too early though isn’t it? And the rumors have been around since January. I mean the movie’s not even out yet.

      • Beth No. 2 says:

The movie will be out in late November I think. Prime release date for Oscar campaigning. He’s got a good distributor behind him, which helps.

      • Madly says:

Not really. The campaign starts in the summer with early buzz building from festivals selection. Not saying this whatever isn’t real, but being seen was intentional.

      • M.A.F. says:

Oscar campaign starts earlier and earlier. There are two film festivals coming up in August that start the buzz.

    • NUTBALLS says:

As much as I enjoy his work and following him here, I really wouldn’t put it past him to keep a romance going with Elizabeth through the Oscars. I’m not saying it’s a PR romance — he may really like her — but it’s hard having a relationship across thousands of miles and he’s seems very ambitious career-wise.

      • Beth No. 2 says:

Yep, break-ups or any hint of a personal crisis during Oscar season is bad news. Those in the race would want to keep their perfect shiny narratives going until the end of their campaigns.

      • Secret squirrel says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if he splits his time between England and America more if his star keeps rising.

A nice little condo in LA to base himself for future roles and romances! (with a garage for the Jag and a view to poetry-loving ducks and pond of course!).

      • Miss Jupitero says:

How are people predicting an Oscar when we do not have even a trailer yet?

      • EN says:

        > How are people predicting an Oscar when we do not have even a trailer yet?

That too. I love Tom. But I really don’t think he is at Oscar’s level yet.

      • Dara says:

@ Miss Jupitero and EN – there are multiple film award sites and writers that started handicapping the 2016 Oscars the day after the 2015 Oscars. ISTL, Hiddleston and Olsen have started appearing on more and more of their lists as likely candidates for awards. Some of these sites have very good track records for their predictions. Most of the films on their lists haven’t released trailers yet, it’s not just ISTL.

Still too early to call though – a lot changes once the films start hitting the various festivals – I am trying very hard not to get excited at the prospect.

      • Beth No. 2 says:

        @Miss Jupitero

Predictions at this stage are based on elements such as:

        – strength of the distributor (financial resources, track record at Oscars, campaign strategy – e.g. ISTL has secured a prime release date in the busy year-end calendar, which indicates that the distributor intends to push it as one of their horses in the race)

        – baity-ness of the movie’s theme (bonus points if it concerns WWII, disease, disability, important historical events, or a key topic in current milieu like LGBT issues)

        – strength of the contender in question (name recognition, influence and popularity among Academy voters, filmography and track record – e.g. if one is a notable veteran who has never been nominated and is considered “due”)

        – strength of co-stars (more relevant for contenders in the Supporting categories, since you can get a Supporting nomination by coattail-ing on a strong Lead Actor/Actress)

        – strength of the director

        – expected box office performance of and critical reception to one’s movie (the greater the buzz, the likelier the Academy voters would watch your movie and vote for you – this is important since there are so many films in contention each year)

Once the fall festival circuit rolls around and critics’ reviews are out, the prognosticators would update their predictions. There are blogs and websites devoted to predicting movie awards, and often a lot of detailed analyses go into it.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@MissJupitero, Oscar predicting and campaigning starts January 1 for the next year with some actors using presenter appearances at awards shows and things like the Met gala to schmooze voters for the next awards season.

    • EN says:

Even if it is partly for PR I don’t understand why people get so upset/ offended by it.
We get a lot of pretty pictures, what is not to like?

      • Beth No. 2 says:

Who is so upset or offended by it? I don’t see any in this thread.

      • EN says:

        > Who is so upset or offended by it? I don’t see any in this thread.

When you said “f*ckery” in the original post, didn’t it mean to signify disgust/ disdain and other negative emotions?
I don’t really like negativity and it jumps out at me.

      • NUTBALLS says:

I don’t see people getting upset here either. Just commenting on the PR advantages as Oscar campaigns ramp up.

      • Beth No. 2 says:

        @EN

Erm, no. I meant “f*ckery” as in shennanigans, with a bit of snark thrown in. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten upset or offended by celeb gossip, which is why I like Celebitchy cos I – for most part – don’t need to step on eggshells here.

      • lobbit says:

No one seems all that upset right now. But give it time – it’ll come.

    • neverland says:

Being seen wasn’t intentional. A fan took the photos without them knowing and sent them to toby on tumblr. Another fan decided to stir thngs up by sending them to the Daily Mail. They gloated about getting their £50 payment on another blog.

      • Miss Melissa says:

I don’t think being hidden was intentional either.

        This is not an accident.

And it generates lots of buzz for their film together this fall. Bonus.

      • NUTBALLS says:

I agree MM. Being hidden was not the point of that outing and he’s well aware of the possibility of getting papped by a citizen.

      • neverland says:

It’s not an accident, no. Because someone deliberately waited to get a picture of them for the sole purpose of proving their gossip cred. As for being hidden, I agree they weren’t intentionally hiding… because sitting and walking in public isn’t hiding.

Sorry if you disagree, but just because it could spin well for their film, doesnt mean these photos are some PR plot. I honestly believe they didn’t know or consent to being photographed here. If it was a big PR plan, they’d have “broken” the news somewhere other than a second rate troll gossip blog on tumblr. The fact is that only the Daily Mail has published them, after being contacted by a tumblr user looking for their 15 minutes.

      • neverland says:

Nutballs, of course they’ll be aware, but does that make it right? Nope. And does the possibility of being photographed mean he shouldn’t go to his local cafe with a woman, otherwise he’s deliberately setting himself up for gossip? That’s lose-lose logic, whatever he does is the wrong thing if we look at it like that.

      • neverland says:

Sorry if you guys disagree, but I don’t believe that this “outing” was a planned event specifically to get in the news. If it was, it’s mostly failed.

EDIT: I’ve read what you’re saying elsewhere on the thread, and do want to apologise if you feel I’m being too aggressive. I’m not disagreeing that they’re together, or that they don’t have any PR plan at all to ease into a more public relationship (after all, every famous person would need one to manage how it’s released). All I disagree with is that this particular instance was PR. The person responsible was basically goaded into taking a picture by toby as they’d sent messages saying they’d seen Elizabeth with him/in the area before then. That’s what I disagree with, not the general idea that famous people need a plan when it comes to sharing personal info. If anything, this creepshot may have messed that plan up for them.

      • NUTBALLS says:

I’m not insinuating that he shouldn’t do whatever he wants, only that he’s well aware of what may happen, especially when in the presence of a woman that he’s got his arm around, that’s all. I was simply agreeing with Miss Melissa that I don’t think he’s trying to hide anything.

It’s just the unfortunate reality in this age of social media that someone will pap him with their phone and put it out on the interwebs. He knows it and wasn’t trying to keep it from happening while spending time with what appears to be EO. Those sneaky shots are creepy, I agree.

  16. Bea says:

Interesting how no one gives two sh*ts about her fiancé who was, as far as we know, most definitely still in the picture when TH & EO were shooting their movie. Considering how there were several posters who explicitly wrote about these two going from coffee shop to coffee shop together at the time, the obvious overlap would be the only major story about this whole mess if she was a man.

    • ell says:

meh, it’s better they split before marrying.

    • Ronda says:

i wondered too but non famous spouses are often seen as having less worth and easy to throw away so the famous person can get with another famous person.

Personally i think Elizabeth Olsen cheated on her ex fiance with Tom Hiddleston.

    • Leah says:

What posters? I don’t remember any postings of them together from last fall. I need to get on Tumblr I guess cuz that is where all the good gossip comes from.

      • InvaderTak says:

it can be apparently, but there’s a lot more made up bs and lunatics to wade through. I’d say stick around here. the ones that do tumblr will share the good bits and you don’t have to deal with the loonies. much.

      • Bea says:

Tumblr thinks she’s 4 months pregnant, I think they throw things around to see what sticks mostly.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Those pictures from Paris feature a view of her abdomen in a cropped top – skinny abdomen.

      • Bea says:

@Lilacflowers Half of tumblr was (some still are apparently) dead set on Cumberbatch’s wife was stuffing pillows under her shirts, I’m sure they can wrangle a baby into a flat stomach.

    • TotallyBiased says:

Actually, there was talk at the time re the fiance NOT being in the picture. She was making public appearances without him prior to IStL, and he never came to see her during filming.
As for EO and TH going places together, pics/tweets/sightings indicate there was a group that got coffee, went to the spa, et cetera together. Pretty typical for TH.

      • Bea says:

I doubt it, he was still giving gushy magazine interviews about her and their shared home during October.

  17. Kate says:

I like EO and if this is a real pairing then I think they look good together. It’s hard for me not to be a little suspicious because of their upcoming possible Oscar-nom film promotion, but could be genuine. These are some sneaky-ass pictures.

I’ve always gotten the vibe that Tom’s the unfaithful type, though…am I wrong? I mean, wasn’t a ladykiller lookin type in his early years so maybe he’s taking advantage now as much as he can?

  18. EN says:

I think Elizabeth Olsen is interesting. But my beef with her is – she is not marriage material at this stage in her life.
And I want Hiddles married. First, it is time for him to pass his genes on. Second, 40 y.o. bachelors are not that cute in my book ( and he is getting there). And third, I want see just to how crazy will the fandom get over Hiddles marrying.
Clock is ticking Tommy, tick-tock. Get on with it.

    • ell says:

ok first of all people should be able to be unmarried for as long as it pleases them, there’s no age limit. secondly, why wouldn’t she be “marriage material”? she’s a perfectly nice woman and there’s nothing wrong with her.

      • EN says:

Of course, people don’t need to marry if they don’t want to )). I just don’t want Hiddles to turn into another Clooney – a man in his 50s, with a new gf every 2 years. I think he’d want a more meaningful relationship, marriage or not.
Don’t take my comment too seriously, though. It is half-joke.
Olsen is not marriage material because her career is on the rise, she has to make sure she takes advantage of that, no time for relationships. In 10 years or so she will be ready for marriage (or not). There is nothing wrong with not getting married.

      • ell says:

        gotcha 🙂

      • Mary-Alice says:

        Or Hugh Grant. Brrrr.

    • Lilacflowers says:

He has more than half a decade to go before he hits 40

      • EN says:

I know but he looks older than his age. He looks 40 already.

      • teacakes (formerly oneshot) says:

….come now. He has to get married because he looks a certain age?

As long as he isn’t a Clooney/Dicaprio about his dating life, I don’t see the problem.

    • teacakes (formerly oneshot) says:

      “And I want Hiddles married.”

He’s married to me, does that count? He’s also married to LilacFlowers, we have a mutual bigamous spouse-sharing agreement.

(but seriously, good on him and EO, and I hope they have a good fling of it)

      • EN says:

No, it doesn’t count because how serious are you about producing little Hiddleses? (I am grandma mode today, ))).

      • teacakes (formerly oneshot) says:

@EN – 100 percent willing to have his spawn, haha.

They would be adorable and at least I can be sure I’d be birthing human beings and not half-lizard-aliens. Or dragonfly eggs.

    • jammypants says:

      That’s pretty ageist, lass!

    • A. Key says:

Well if YOU want him married then he should definitely adapt and live his life in accordance with YOUR wishes immediately!!

      ………

      • jammypants says:

Poor bloke. No one is happy with his choices he made for himself and not according to their wishes 😛

  19. browniecakes says:

He definitely is in a relationship – with those grey pants. Anyway, someone on Twitter thought these photos were from Spring when she was in London, not that recent. Whatever, time will tell. Movie promotion for both this Fall.
I’ll take a Hiddlefizzle, rocks, water back, with those pancakes please. Save a chair.

  20. koko says:

I’m wondering why the cafe photo has her cropped out, it seems to me that photo would be more convincing than a back shot. If your going to stalk and snap a photo, why not include her face. I wouldn’t go for the girlfriend angle yet, he’s been filming for months, she’s been busy as well. Thinking they both have some free time now and hooking up is happening. Waiting for the press tour for CP, then will probably know for sure.

  21. j.eyre says:

I cannot divulge my source, but let’s just say I know for certain:

Tommy is actually dating the yellow purse and Lizzie is just their beard. He fell in love with the purse while on an emergency sock run back in January and pursued it with poems and pocket tissues until the purse finally agreed to go out with him. Once together, they realized what a frenzy his dating such a high profile purse would be and that is when Lizzie agree to be a front for them. She, it turns out, was involved with one of the stunt guitars from the HW movie and was keeping her own secrets.

    You’re welcome.

    • NUTBALLS says:

Thank you for setting everything straight, Miss Jane. We can always count on you to throw a truth bomb in a roomful of delusion.

      *blows kisses*

    • soporificat says:

Finally, some tea I can believe in! Thank you!

Personally, I think they would make a great couple (not Yellow Purse and TH–EO and TH, lol!). So, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they are dating. I think they are at equal levels of attractiveness and intelligence.

However, if that is EO in the photo (and I think it is), then she is most definitely not 5’6″, which is what it says online. I generally assume that male actors lie about their heights, but why would a woman lie about it? Based on the photo, I’m guessing that she is only 5’2″ or so. (I know what 5’2″ looks like because that it my height–A VERY GOOD HEIGHT INDEED, what are you implying?) Seriously though, I’m curious about it–any thoughts?

      • Miss Melissa says:

I think a weak 5-4 just because of photos in comparison to her sisters.

But no, not even close to 5-6

    • Beth No. 2 says:

I am in love with the purse too, and wonder if it’s possible to have a ménage a trois between me, Tom and purse.

Actually, screw Tom. Just give me the purse, thank you.

      • T.Fanty says:

Beth – Miss Jane considers that an invitation, and accepts with enthusiasm. In fact, that might be why she isn’t here to respond right now.

        *offers up fabulous yellow purse*

      • Dara says:

Task accepted! In the course of said screwing (or perhaps just afterward) I shall snag the purse for you. Win-win for everyone I think.

Edit – Dang it, someone got there before me. Story of my life.

      • T.Fanty says:

If it helps, Jeremy Renner is still available (see discussion below).

        *goes off to gag*

      • NUTBALLS says:

Fanty, why did you have to bring him up?? Now I’ve lost my appetite.

Screw Tom, wearing only the yellow purse.

      • j.eyre says:

        *dusts off skirts*

Damn, that Yellow Purse is a fiery little thing. Well, Beth Deux, I would be happy to disentangle that trampy pocketbook’s strap from Tommy’s arm but he seem quite besotted. Don’t worry your pretty, little head, I will wrench that clutch from his clutch, even if it means ill-pairing it with a pair of lavender kitten heels to lure it away – I am that dedicated.

(btw way, I am in no way implying that your head is actually diminutive. I am sure you have a perfectly normal-sized head; although word on the street is that it is, in fact, quite comely)

      • Beth No. 2 says:

        @j.eyre

No worries, no offense taken at all, though I must say I initially thought you had meant to address that comment to Tom. Since I’m sure you are aware that his “little head” is indeed very pretty.

In fact, I’m thinking of using it as a clothes hook to hang my newly-acquired yellow bag. It will look most fetching.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Yellow purse has been separated from my husband Tom’s arm (a shot of Ketel One and some Hob Nobs will do it every time.) Yellow purse is now hanging off the veranda’s flagpole for whoever reaches it first.

  22. T.Fanty says:

Poor Chris Evans. Dumped again. Won’t someone think of the single male avengers?

    *curses Loki’s diabolical plan*

    • j.eyre says:

Single, childless Avenger; at least Renner has his daughter to ease him through this devastation.

      • Izzy says:

Not to worry, as soon as Chris meets me, he won’t be lonely anymore… 😉

And I can promise you, no more Renner-esque media gaffes. I’ll put a stop to that crap.

      • t.fanty says:

Renner does until he realizes that his daughter, by having this misfortune to be born female, is also a slut.

      • Izzy says:

No kidding, fanty, I just read your post and almost fell off my chair laughing. Now my co-worker is giving me side-eye. Shhhh…

      • Velvet, Crushed says:

        Thank you, @t.fanty.

    • Sandy says:

I don’t think Chris Evans would make good boyfriend material. He strikes me as an immature misogynistic douche bro womanizer with mommy issues and a drinking problem! His career choices outside of Marvel are tragic, he’s rumored to have caught herpes from Minka Kelly/Jessica Biel (look up the Derek Jeter herpes tree) and he’s now aging like milk. Elizabeth Olsen didn’t look one bit interested in him when they were seated next to each other at the San Diego Comic Con last year. More like annoyed by him trying to draw silly things on her hands when she was signing autographs for fans. Tom Hiddleston looks more like her type.

      • teacakes (formerly oneshot) says:

I object to anyone calling Snowpiercer (very much NOT a Marvel movie!) tragic, but I see your point about his career choices.

though I don’t see why the alleged herpes is his fault, it’s not like he’s the one who stepped out on a partner and passed it on. It’s a treatable condition.

      • Sandy says:

Did you know that Edgar Wright had to convince him to do Snowpiercer (just like he was talked into joining Marvel by Robert Downey Jr.)? The only two other good movies on his joke of a resume are Sunshine and Scott Pilgrim (bold performance in Puncture but the movie was too boring). You couldn’t pay me enough to sit through Cellular, Fantastic Four, London, Push or Playing It Cool again. I don’t think he has enough charisma and chops to be a leading man but whenever he gets to do a supporting role, he’s a scene stealer (Not Another Teen Movie, Fierce People, The Losers, Scott Pilgrim, The Iceman) kinda like Sam Rockwell, Steve Buscemi, John Goodman or the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Herpes or not, his dating life choices are just as bad as his career ones. No wonder he hasn’t found the one yet. Sadly, flop taste can’t be cured.

      • teacakes (formerly oneshot) says:

@Sandy – I do know that the director thought of another actor for his role, namely Kang Dong-won (who is, quite frankly, fantastic – better than I’ve ever seen Evans be) but ended up not sending him the script at all.

and frankly, after what Renner pulled I think Chrevans’s taste in girls is a really, really minor irritant in comparison.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Some actors are best as character actors but because of their looks, they are given roles that don’t really suit them. Ben Afleck’s another one.

      • Velvet, Crushed says:

I am relieved to have someone on side with me about Affleck, @Lilacflowers. As a leading man, I find him to be extremely boring, but I confess I have really enjoyed many of his character turns. Of his lead roles, I actually quite liked him in his self-directed fare, none of which required the glossiness of Hollywood-branded charisma.

  23. M.A.F. says:

Now why take just a photo of his face while at the OUTDOOR Cafe and not her? Or take a group shot? Then take a photo of both of them but only from behind? A year ago there would have been tears. Now? Not so much but this is still fun.

    • koko says:

I’m with you. If your going to all that trouble to take a sneaky photo, why cut her out. Your telling us it’s EO, so we take your word for it, because your not showing us it’s her. If it wasn’t for the yellow bag, you could say it was anybody. I initially thought of SM, maybe he was doing some consoling after her break up.

      • M.A.F. says:

Well, him and SM were both in High Rise. It could happen.

      • Dara says:

God forbid. At this point, I’m hoping Hiddleston ends up with anyone (male or female) other than SM, I just can’t with that woman.

That said, the woman in the photo looks much closer to Sienna’s height than EO – for some reason I thought Lizzie was taller.

  24. Izzy says:

So much for them being a cover for her and Captain America. That’s just fine. Back away from My Cap Ass, Lizzie.

On another note, Tom’s shoes are a High Crime Against Fashion.

    • T.Fanty says:

To be fair, that’s true of for a lot of Hiddles’ clothes. He just distracts us from his sartorial ugliness by wearing everything a size too small.

    • M.A.F. says:

That is why he needs a girlfriend and/or styliest.

And I think I might be the only one who likes the Vans slip on but white slip ons Tom?

      • j.eyre says:

Bright, shiny, white Vans. Do you think he takes them off, dusts them off with a special “shoes dusting towel” as soon as he gets home? Maybe a special shelf to put them immediately after wearing?

      • M.A.F. says:

Along with those pants that have a special hanger.

      • Dara says:

Are Vans washable? He wore the same (or similar) pair to Wheatland when prepping for ISTL last year and they were filthy – or maybe he buys the same style over and over.

Style-wise, I like Vans on girls – white or otherwise – but not so much on guys, and definitely not in white. Not sure why. Same for Birkenstocks – Liev Schreiber being the only exception to that rule. He wears the hell out of a pair of Birks.

  25. Sara says:

She is dating all the marvel cast. Two days ago she was dating Evans.

    • Lilacflowers says:

Next week, she’ll be linked with Sebastian Stan.

      • Abby_J says:

Noooo!!!! She can have Hiddles, as much as I love him.

I want to be linked to Sebastian Stan!!

      • Sara says:

LOL, by then my sister is going to have an heart attack. She likes both Tom and Sebastian.

Personally I would have been over joyed if it was Jessica Chastain but its none of my business anyway.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Abby-J, JLM needs to go for a run. You’ve left him handcuffed in the basement for too long.

      • Abby_J says:

I’ll take care of it. He really should be let out to film next seasons Elementary anyway.

  26. Pegasus says:

Dang! The fates are trying to kill all the fangirls these past couple of years. First JGL, then Clooney, then Cumberbatch, now Hiddleston!? Papa, don’t hit me no more!

But seriously, I lean toward “real romance some degree above casual.” I don’t know about her acting. Her look is not distinct but she’s pretty. She seems like a bit of a ham in interviews. They have the “famous actor” thing in common. So, no real complaints here. But I mean – after Amal and JGL’S wife? I’m so underwhelmed by the generically pretty actress/model girlfriend. I know I shouldn’t be. I just am. Even if she’s not super accomplished, a lay person or a woman who is ridiculously gorgeous would feel like a change.

Why can’t these dudes think out of the box?

    • Here says:

I can’t say that I’ve seen many interviews with her, but the ones I’ve seen she seems kind of…blah? I mean, perfectly nice, perfectly pretty, harmless enough, but blah.
I guess what I’m saying is I agree with you!

    • Kiki says:

First off, who is JGL. And Secondly, I agree with you, why can these men find go outside to find someone to have for a mate instead of their acting peers. I

      • Pegasus says:

JGL = Joseph Gordon Levitt He married some average-to-cute looking hipster girl around his age who just happens to be some Silicon Valley wiz with her own company and with no desire to be in the spotlight.

But you know what I’m saying: looks, status, accomplishments don’t matter. It’s just that a lot of these Hollywood dudes pick the same kind of girl over and over.

In fact, a weird thing about Hollywood is that a lot of the men have some uniqueness but the vast majority of the women appear to be interchangeable, commercially safe/viable cookie cutters. Gone are the days of Meryl, Glenn, Julia & Charlize. Maybe Margot Robbie. She’s going to be an acting force to be reckoned with, but she looks like she came out of the same dolly mold.

      • EN says:

        > In fact, a weird thing about Hollywood is that a lot of the men have some uniqueness but the vast majority of the women appear to be interchangeable, commercially safe/viable cookie cutters

I like Alicia V., but she is already taken. )))

    • EN says:

She is a promising actress. I didn’t want to like her (because she is an Olsen and has that sad looking face gene) . I am still only half-way there , but I saw a couple moments were her acting was quite good. So, I am trying to get past her looks and really like her for who she is.

      • NUTBALLS says:

I think she’s gorgeous. I’ve only seen two of her films, but I enjoyed her in both.

      • chelsea says:

TBH, she is a better actor than he is.

      • NUTBALLS says:

I don’t think so. He’s got a lot of good stuff out there.

      • Bea says:

I think he is a good actor not because he’s particularly talented but he is obsessively hard-working. I love watching behind the scenes stuff as I’m in the industry myself and in the OLLA documentary he was really struggling about some changes to a scene to the point where he was openly frustrated. Clearly he’s someone who needs to think and plan long and hard. She seems to be more naturally spontaneous, which is almost always more interesting.

  27. TotallyBiased says:

I’m bringing over my dubious fantasy scenario from the other thread. Tom knows over-invested fangirls stalk G & W whenever he’s in town, so if he was actually with Lizzie why would he EVER bring her there?
Unless they were TRYING to get pics out on Tumblr? I can see it now:
EO–Tom, your fans are such losers! Every opportunity and they still can’t post a pic with my face.
TH–Sorry, darling. I know, let’s go for a run up Primrose Hill!
EO–Are you crazy? NY girls don’t do that. And I’m not going on that ‘tube’ thing, either!
    😉

    • Catherine says:

      Because he likes the coffee?

    • Miss Melissa says:

      @TotallyBiased

      Exactly. Not an accident.

I think the US Magazine article was the first toe in the water of going public. Coffee at public places where they know they’ll be snapped and hit social media is the second.

Reveal without revealing, acknowledge without statement is the game.

      • TotallyBiased says:

        @Miss Melissa–
Oh, no, you mis-take my humour AND intent!
The ‘fantasy’ scenario is my justification for doubting that it is EO at all.
I mean, did it actually seem realistic to you? Srsly?

      • Miss Melissa says:

        I missed your funny details.

But sadly, I don’t think you are too far off the mark.

Simply because the last gal was eviscerated.

      • Dara says:

@MissMelissa – I could almost buy a planned story argument, but this feels too sloppy to be on purpose. A ‘get fans used to the idea’ PR campaign might not be a bad idea, but if that’s what this is they aren’t doing a very good job.

Sure there was a tabloid story about TH/EO, but there were also stories about Renner and Evans that used almost exactly the same language. The last one even suggested Tom was a decoy, which is a silly detail to include in a planted story if the next step is to have them “accidentally” caught out and about together. I’m not even sure they could count on fans to snap pics of them together – especially since both TH and EO usually seem to fly under fan radar. Surely a PR team wouldn’t want to leave that to chance and a discreet call to a trusted photog would be in order.

This is not an argument against a relationship, it just doesn’t feel like they are being all that strategic about how that relationship is made public. At least not yet. ISTL will probably start showing at film festivals in September – they are going to be together a lot very soon, couple or not. The next few weeks/months are going to be fun to watch. Could someone send Colin my direction? My cocktail needs a refill and something tells me this party is just getting started.

      • philae says:

If they wanted to do a PR planned outing Wimbledon was a better way.
They were both in town, but Olsen spent the day otherwise and had dinner with Aaron Taylor Johnson and others at Babington, while Hiddleston brought his PA to the game and was not with her at dinner.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@philae: gasp! Did she hug Aaron Taylor Johnson too? You’re talking sensibly and that cannot be allowed.

      • philae says:

@Lilacflowers my apologies 😀 Another sensible bit: Olsen was in London for over a week, hanging out with other people (there are reported sightings of her on twitter on Tuesday last week), so it’s not like she went to London with the only purpose of being seen taking coffee with Hiddleston.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@philae, and he wasn’t in London on Tuesday last week. He didn’t get back to London from SDCC until Wednesday or Thursday. The plot thickens!

      • philae says:

@Lilacflowers so it does, because the other day, on Monday, Hiddleston was seen at a service station in Oxford with a blonde woman, but while the girl said she only saw the back of her head, she also added she would have recognised EO (she is a MCU/DC fan), and by her voice she really didn’t think it was her – actually this girl was upset people were using her encounter to support gossip.
(I think the person who sent the photos to the DM said Oxford because of this sighting, strange they didn’t mention his father living there)

      • Lilacflowers says:

@philae, well, the DM isn’t going to win any journalism awards here. They can’t even get the color of his jacket correct or the city where the picture was taken, it would be beyond their capabilities to even guess he might have a reason to be in Oxford

  28. seesittellsit says:

I fervently hope so – I was beginning to wonder about darling Toddles . . .

  29. Miss M says:

Sorry Miss Jane, but I have a confession to make…

I am the lady hanging out with Tom in London. I purposely chose to use a wig that would makr me look like EO.

  30. Chic says:

I dont think these are recent… London has been blue skies for weeks now (trust me, I work outdoors!).

    • TotallyBiased says:

I wondered about that–but why would the person who had them wait to release them? Unless they needed the time to, er, modify/crop?
      Dun dun duuuuuuuuh!

      • Freshmeat says:

Also by this time a dozen other gossip( err …news) sites would be running this as well. DM’s the only place. Present company excluded of course. Ha ha.

    • Catherine says:

London was cloudy and overcast yesterday (Monday).

    • Nonny says:

^^^^ Seriously, this. It has been about 75 and sunny most of the last 2 weeks on London and very hot and humid even when it’s overcast. And you have to remember that English people think 70 is seriously hot and dress accordingly, not least because hardly anywhere has air conditioning. I am sitting here in my office in the City of London in Birkenstocks and a linen dress looking out the window at professionals in flip flops and spaghetti tops. Nobody, but nobody, wears a jacket like that in weather like this. I don’t buy that the photographer “just saw” them or whatever she says.

      • ell says:

that’s not true though, do we live in the same london??? you see all sorts of people; some dress like you say, but you also see plenty of people with coats. it’s been very humid recently, but there were definitely a bunch of rather cloudy days. like yesterday, for instance. it even drizzled on and off for a while.

      • Sara says:

Is it only Reading thats boiling hot? because if so I will move to London.

    • ell says:

nah man, it was rainy and overcast yesterday.

  31. Lilacflowers says:

My darling husband Thomas has tweeted that today is Jimmy Cagney’s birthday so Mark is transforming the veranda into a movie viewing area for us and Colin is making popcorn. First up, Angels with Dirty Faces with Cagney and Humphrey Bogart. Tom can mimic both of them

    • InvaderTak says:

Robin Williams’ too isn’t it? Good day for funny guys.

    • Abby_J says:

I’ll be there for the movie viewing, and I might be bringing Sebastian Stan with me to leave with JLM. Someone up-thread suggested Lizzy would be going for him next, and I have to draw the line somewhere. 🙂

      I’ll bring ice cream.

  32. Nimmi says:

I want to high-five that person for getting DM to shell out for faceless photos. 🙂
    ..

    • Lilacflowers says:

Faceless photos that somebody else took! So both the DM and the creepy stalker photographer got ripped off too

      • teacakes (formerly oneshot) says:

I don’t even care if I’m wrong for enjoying that thought so much…..

    • Lilacflowers says:

Also laughing because the oh-so-thirsty-blogger, who loves to call women names similar to the ones Renner used, wasn’t acknowledged by the DM either for publishing the pictures first

      • InvaderTak says:

How would they? They were from Twitter? Or were the pics from elsewhere and just tweeted? I don’t get social media.

      • TotallyBiased says:

@InvaderTak–the pics were sent anon to The Blog That Shall Remain Nameless, were then reblogged to heck and gone, and finally hit Twitter. The person who supposedly got paid for them contacted Daily Fail through their tips line, as well as tweeting them. Oddly, the Tweet I’ve seen most often used to illustrate the story even SAYS ‘not my pictures.’ A cheap way out for the online media.

      • Dara says:

I think the ‘not my pictures’ line is a way for a Twitter user to diffuse any hate that could be coming their way for publishing sneaky shots. The more protective fans usually jump all over anyone that dares invade the privacy of their fragile unicorn-prince by taking a photo of him in a public place.

To be honest, I’m actually surprised the photos in question didn’t get more play on Tumblr. The original post has less than 150 likes/reblogs, which is next to nothing for a new Tom-related photo. Your average photo of a Hiddles sighting can sometimes get a thousand comments, or more. Maybe no one wants to admit they read the blog in question and didn’t repost or like – or that blog has a smaller audience than they want everyone to believe.

    • NUTBALLS says:

All valid points and giggle-worthy, ladies. Anything that sticks it to that awful blog is ok in my book.

  33. Jennifer Astin says:

The yellow bag is a crossbody by The Row. That’s E. Olsen, for positive.

  34. ican'tsnap says:

So is this why she and Boyd Holbrook broke up? I just googled real quick (I’m no Hiddleston loon), and I Saw the Light started filming in October, and her break-up announcement came in January…

Anyway, they might make a nice couple.

  35. Cap London says:

She’s so lovely. Tom seems a nice guy, intelligent and fun to be around. However, there is something about him, a bit effeminate I think.

    • Ankhel says:

Oh, that’s part of his sneaky charm. He seems silly and immature, not really manly. Then, you notice the little things – his height, his brains, his manners, the velvety burr of his voice when he talks flirtatiously, the, um, pant situation, the dancing…

He seems like one of those trick drawings where you can see two different people in the same spot, and is all the more fascinating for it.

    • T.Fanty says:

He’s not gay. He’s just really really English.

  36. NUTBALLS says:

Where the hell is P’enny?? Perhaps that was her under the EO wig sashaying down the block with the PuddleTom. That wench.

    • p'enny says:

      @nutballs

oh my, didnt see the thread, to be honest, till now

wow, still taking it all in.

I can assuringly say that wasn’t me, i don’t wear flip flops and rain mac’s 🙂 have better fashion taste. 🙂

    • NUTBALLS says:

A Hiddles thread isn’t the same without you, dear. Sorry to hear he wasn’t with you this past weekend…

  37. Freshmeat says:

My final odd future thought of the day: Can you imagine thanksgiving at the Olsen house. The twins with their middle aged bf’s/fiances staring wide eyed blankly while Tom pontificates on Shakespeare/tennis, over pumpkin pie..Awkward. Until the next post.

    • p'enny says:

they wouldnt understand, i get the feeling that Tom’s intellectual level for literature leaves the Olsen’s standing. However, they are better probably at maths.

      He love the pie though

  38. Phoebe says:

Her eyes are too big for her face… she’s a better match with Elijah Wood LOL.

Also- during the AOU press extravaganza I always found her dreadfully boring. Maybe it’s because the rest of them are so damn charming, but she just seemed…devoid and blank. He needs someone fun- like Haley Atwell, no idea what her dating status is but that girl is a hoot and lovely to boot (sorry).

    • Bea says:

She is strikingly devoid of any personality. Her face is so beautiful and then you see the blank eyes. Maybe she’s just trying to put on a neutral public persona but she does seem dull indeed. Even the voice is blank..

      • EN says:

I think she is smart. But she has what I call “the Olsen face”, Maggie G. also has it. I think the cheeckbones are too low and the eyes appear too big, and the whole face looks sad.

      • Bea says:

I don’t know, maybe. Her sisters have quite similar faces but they have a lot of personality so I don’t think it’s just her looks. I saw several of her interviews and in all of them she is like, yawn.. As I said on another topic, she is Tim nice but dim personified for me. TH always seemed a bit more adventurous, Susannah Fielding is so vivacious and hilarious, god knows Jane Arthy was a character, and Gwendoline Christie is fantastically fabulous. I don’t know who else he dated, these 3 are the only ones I know so clearly I am no expert but then I hear Elizabeth Olsen speak in her lazy nasal voice and it’s still such a disappointment.

      • Mary-Alice says:

Agree. She is a bore but with a sense of entitlement (personal impression). I didn’t really expect him to hook up with someone like that, his ego is enough for two.

      • Bea says:

@Mary-Alice Perhaps he’s into her because they are quite similar. TBH she lost me when she came up with her “I was a lowly actor making her way through the motions when this amazing role came my way” schtick. Oldboy, In Secret, Very Good Girls, Kill Your Darlings, Liberal Arts, Silent House and MMMM were all shot before she even graduated from NYU. Yet she claims to be immune to nepotism? Girl, you are not THAT good.

      • Absolutely says:

Oh good. I’m not the only one who thinks she’s boring. Pretty? Yes. Nice? Probably. Overflowing with personality? Not so much. After Kat Dennings and Gwen Christie she seems so bland. Oh well, different strokes…

      • Mary-Alice says:

        @Bea

I don’t think they arevery similar except for the ego inflation. He is smart, very intelligent, cultured, well spoken, etc. He has charisma and personal charm. To me she is just bland and bore but expecting much appreciation while playing the humble one. I can’t remember now the interview when she finally lost me but she had said something utterly dumb and the whole interview was just ugh. Until then, despite my personal impressions, I was giving her the benefit of the doubt.

      • Phoebe says:

I just remembered the interview where I thought “God this chick is vapid and boring” It was The Graham Norton Show, she, Ruffalo and Renner were on…watch that and try and tell me she is a good match with Hiddles. I know interviews aren’t everything but the show is particularly relaxed and fun, so celebs real personalities come out (plus there’s booze). Speaking of, I hope Tom goes on it this fall, he’s never been on!

      • A. Key says:

I’ll never forget that interview where she says “What’s Adele?” and “No one should ever go to Serbia”, lol.
I think she’s not that bright and lacks social intelligence.

      • Mary-Alice says:

A.Key, that same interview! How ignorant is this chick, it’s mind blowing. And really, offensive, if I was Serbian.

      • Lilacflowers says:

        “Chick?”

      • Bea says:

What is wrong with Serbia? It is in a war riddled zone unfortunately but it’s a gorgeous little country! What an ignorant comment. Having nothing to do all day I watched some of her videos on youtube, she seemed like a bit of a mean girl to me under the goody-too-shoes veneer but god knows what TH himself is like in private.

  39. TotallyBiased says:

Folks may be laying the breakup at the wrong door:
    According to US magazine,
“An insider at CAA’s Pre-Golden Globes Party at the Soho House in West Hollywood also observed on Jan. 9 that Holbrook was at the bash sans Olsen. At one point, the Gone Girl actor was outside flirting with a blonde woman who coincidentally resembled his love of three years.”
So, given that Boyd Holbrook’s also an actor with the same temptations, we’ll never know who may or may not have tired of whom.
Or if they just moved on, and realized marriage wasn’t right for them right now?

    • Bea says:

Considering ISTL was filmed for several months before that incident and Holbrook was still giving interviews about how elegant Elizabeth is etc in october, I doubt people are laying the breakup at the wrong door. Very shady behaviour.

      • Madly says:

Yeah, there is too much smoke here. I know his fans will say “but she wasn’t married and their are not kids,” but shady is shady.

      • TotallyBiased says:

You see what you want to see. We have no evidence of anything inappropriate happening, well, EVER–much less during IStL. Not being terribly familiar with Mr. Holbrook, I have no idea what was printed in October mags (which means, what, July-August interview dates?) . Nor do I particularly ever believe when people gush to a print media.
As for hearing about shady behaviour–other Celeb*tches report there were noises about Holbrook stepping out on her at some point.
        So we just don’t know.
As neither one of them is coming out swinging at each other, or taking potshots at any third parties–why should we?
        What’s your motivation here?

      • Bea says:

UsWeekly that first leaked the story clearly writes that they were friends before they “became close” on the set of their film. Considering how UsWeekly is her teams choice of gossip mag -her dating Boyd, engagement to him, their break up were “confirmed by a source” exclusively to them- I don’t see the point of claiming they didn’t do anything when they were shooting the movie after hearing it from the horses mouth.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Bea, you do realize that they could have become close because her fiance may have dumped her three weeks into the shoot, right? The horse’s mouth, as you called it, doesn’t provide that information.

      • NUTBALLS says:

US Weekly ain’t the horse’s mouth.

      • waitwhat says:

@bea That article was published October 3rd, so it was definitely written August/September as TB said. Who knows what happened between the interview and when filming started mid-October?

  40. Beach girl says:

New poster here! I searched Twitter last night and pulled up the TH EO pic. However just now the same search got NADA. Under TH EO last comment was 5 hrs ago and nothing re pic. Either I’ve done something wrong (possible) or there’s been a complaint.

    • koko says:

I was late to the show this morning and when I managed to get on Twitter I had the same result, almost everything seems to have been pulled, even the related searches which brought up Crimsonpeak only. The related search tag for them has also been dumped. You’ve done nothing wrong. Question is who would complain????

    • TotallyBiased says:

Huh. My search is getting the same stuff it did before. Maybe there aren’t new tweets because people are moving on and there really isn’t any new material?
OR there is SO much stuff that Twitter is overloading trying to keep track and organize to be found in a search!:D

    • NUTBALLS says:

It’s still on twitter, I found it under #elizabetholsen.

It’s on tumblr as well, where it originated.

  41. Madly says:

I always thought he had someone(s) that he was seeing. But in hearing the timeline between the two, there seems to be a lot of smoke with the cheating rumors which makes me see both in a real negative light. Being a charming, articulate, handsome man can’t erase being a selfish cheater. Same goes for her. I really don’t want it to be true because I enjoy the hiddles, but this doesn’t look good. And the U.S. Weekly story (autocorrect won’t let me type us) just paints their relationship in an ugly way. If that was the toe in the water of a relationship rollout, that is a bad way to start it. This looks messy. Bad form hiddles.

    • Mary-Alice says:

      Same here. Ugly if true.

    • InvaderTak says:

If anyone did it was her. He wasn’t committed (that we know of). It’s not his responsibility to keep her promises for her.

      • Allegra says:

        True.

      • Mary-Alice says:

How refreshing but I don’t share your innovative approach to moral principles. In my world if I willingly and consciously approach or show in some way to an engaged or married person that something between us is possible,, means that I am a wreck as much as the accepting party. Morally and emotionally so. There is no way anyone can convince me that we don’t realize there is a third person involved in the equation who at this moment most probably suspects nothing and will most probably be hurt. And on this website there have been hundreds of posts under which the majority has called such behaviour shameful, nasty, disgraceful, etc. Especially when women have “ruined” the man’s “idyllic” life. But because it’s Hiddleston let’s give him all the passes in the world. That’s not how I understand dignity and yes, it would be ugly if it happened.

    • TotallyBiased says:

      “Bad form, hiddles”.
      “Ugly if true”
      and how quickly that becomes
      “Hiddles is a cheater”
Because CLEARLY if something COULD have happened.happened, it must have. The tremendously demanding shooting shedule, the constant presence of other people, the fact that she was still engaged–he’s a HOLLYWOOD ACTOR, so none of that applies!

    • Allegra says:

I do not know why people are blaming Tom for the end of EO´s engagement. None of us know what really happened.
Perhaps EO and her fiance have decided it was too early for such commitment as a marriage . Or perhaps the distance made they have realized that was attraction and not love what they felt for each other.
About Tom and EO maybe they are only friends, who knows?
They are both single, so i wish good luck for them.

      • Bea says:

It’s not that people are blaming him outright for the end of her engagement but the rumour mill points towards an affair and some people, including me, are acknowledging that if, in fact, that is the case, it is bad form for both of them. Clearly EO and her fiancé broke up and it’s for the best as clearly it wasn’t meant to be but stories of such overlaps are rarely overlooked when it’s the men who does the cheating but when it’s a young, affable woman no one bats an eye, and I think that is unfair.

By the way the in the second comment of this post someone wrote that they saw them today and they were indeed a couple, so not friends and not his sister.

      • Lilacflowers says:

And yet for those placing blame here, they are aiming it at him more than her, as if he clubbed her over the head or something. She was the one who was engaged, not him. If anything happened, and nobody knows that anything did, she was the one who made decisions.

      • Bea says:

@Lilacflowers I agree with you on that. Getting involved with someone who is engaged is distasteful to say the least in my opinion however her relationship is her responsibility. No third party should be the keeper of someones engagement. So if there is an overlap, while it reflects badly on him, the burden is on her.

      • Madly says:

@bea, I agree with a lot of your points, but the sighting on this thread. Anyone can make that crap up. As a rule, I take it with a grain of salt no matter what they say.

      • Pegasus says:

I used to be a lot more judgmental on this issue. I’ve just come to the conclusion that some lazy, inconsiderate, selfish, abusive people engage in extra affairs. And some amazing, loving, usually “moral” people find themselves in a terrible situation where they have very intense, authentic, life changing feelings for each other – but there’s a preexisting relationship. Ultimately, the bulk of the responsibility is with the committed person to stay committed. Even in the face of temptation. Or at least have the decency not to lie to and deceive someone’s heart more than a nanosecond.

      • Dara says:

@Pegasus – that was very well said. Agree 100% and the more I think about it, the easier it is to see who falls into which category (at least in the celebrity gossip world). I could never figure out why I gave some celebs passes when it came to infidelity and yet wanted to tar and feather others – but it comes down to circumstances and an ongoing pattern of behavior.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Having had an engagement broken because he dumped me for another woman, in my view, the responsibility and the burden is ONLY on the engaged person. There does seem to be an inclination to blame the third party but it is not the fault of the third party if the “committed person” strays. Nobody outside the relationship knows what the “committed person” told the third person. I know that my ex-fiance lied about me to the woman he dumped me for so I can’t blame her. I also believe that if a person cheats on one partner, he/she will cheat on the next so anyone getting involved should be cautious. And an engagement is not equal to a marriage.

    • TotallyBiased says:

And this is how a man, who is by solid evidence a GOOD man, gets a shady reputation in some circles–even sleazy. He really IS Cassio!

      • Bea says:

You sound like you live in his pocket. How would you know what he is like? You don’t know. I don’t know. It’s open for speculation. The only person making definitive statements here is you. Oh and watching bazillion interviews does not mean you know him. You sound like one of those tumblrites who write about “meeting tom hiddleston” when they see him crossing the street.

      • TotallyBiased says:

Are there two Beas posting, or are you just a bit two-minded? One minute you’re down on Lizzie, the next you’re putting down Tom –sometimes in comparison to EO.
        Confusing.
My point is that “the rumour mill points” is NOT evidence. But the game of telephone (and some folks’ inexplicable desire to believe the worst of people) turns rumours into negging on a man’s (well, and a woman’s–but I don’t know as much about her) reputation.
I’m an adult who can only judge (keeping in mind that we shouldn’t, but all do anyway) based on the facts I know. And I’ve been a fan of the man for three+ years. In that time, the only FACTS I have about him support him being a good, decent man. 2nd hand hearsay supports this. It isn’t until third-hand and the rumour mill that the shady reputation begins. But dirt sticks, and it is incredibly hard to prove a negative. It’s no wonder that anyone minimalizes discussing their personal life.
Now, if I CARED about–say–the Kardashians, I’d be in their posts. But I don’t.
I care about the facts in this post, and about the motives of people who want to populate the environment with shady little neggings.

      • Bea says:

I don’t feel the need to take sides which is how I can see the positives and the negatives of both people mentioned. It is quite nice, you should try it.

      • TotallyBiased says:

Both your sides are negative, though–and this is indicative of your reading AND writing comprehension issues. Since you’ve made this personal.
Back to the “definitive statements”–this is pretty darn definitive:
@Bea– “I don’t see the point of claiming they didn’t do anything when they were shooting the movie after hearing it from the horses mouth. “

      • Ariadne says:

This man is a good man. Polite with the wenches who serve him the drinks, approachable to the aspiring lads who wish for advice, easy to chat and joke with.

By Jove, there is not a friendlier famous face this side of the Atlantic that you’d want to meet, if given the chance!

Definitively invite-him-over-for-Christmas-dinner-material, so he can bring joy to the young nieces and the old matrons. If only one could fireproof the curtains!

      • Anne tommy says:

frankly, while starting a relationship while engaged to someone else might not be the classiest, IMO it’s not as bad as doing the same after you are married. That’s why the whole ” til death do us part ” vows and formal registering of the marriage come in, it’s a greater level of commitment (And yes I know that people can be committed without being married.). That said, there’s no evidence at all that that’s what happened, maybe she broke it off first, maybe they are just pals, I don’t rush to judgement, it’s just two people and one nice handbag having a stroll.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Words of wisdom from Anne tommy.

    • NUTBALLS says:

No one knows for sure if or when they got together. We also don’t know when things ended with Boyd. It may have been earlier than it was reported. There’s no evidence that any cheating occurred.

I don’t think either of them are above that kind of behavior, but I don’t like anyone being shamed for things which there’s no proof they’ve done.

      • TotallyBiased says:

Watch it, Nutty! You just made a DEFINITIVE STATEMENT! Bea gonna come after you now. 😉

      • jammypants says:

        haha watch this space!

      • NUTBALLS says:

Jammy, the next few months are gonna be fun to watch. I have a feeling we’re just getting a preview of what’s to come as promos start up and red carpets get walked on.

TB – My definitive statements stand on their own against accusations born out of rumor mill and gossip magazines that thrive on scandal. Innocent until proven guilty, especially when misrepresentation runs rampant in this environment.

      • Madly says:

Like I said, there is a lot of smoke here. That is what I am seeing and I don’t want to. I enjoy me some hiddleston, but the dots connect too well here.

      • TotallyBiased says:

There’s always a lot of smoke when rumour and innuendo come a rubbin’ up against each other.

      • TotallyBiased says:

And we’re not talking Faberge, faux or otherwise!

  42. A. Key says:

    I miss Jarthy.

I can’t with this Olsen chick. I’d probably like her more if I never heard her speak, but dammit her interviews ruin everything.
She’s nice but frankly dumb, sorry.

  43. jammypants says:

All I see is two pretty people started dating. Now there are character assassins coming out the woodworks. In my opinion, she’s really cute and so is he. Now they make each other exponentially cuter. That’s all I got.

    • Lilacflowers says:

Right? As if we didn’t have enough truly evil or disgusting people in the world, we have to label someone as a home-wrecking jerk when there is no evidence to do so?

      • jammypants says:

And calling Olsen dumb to boot (or terrible actress). Culturally unaware is not the same thing as being genuinely dumb. Then we have the labeling of Hiddleston as a crafty PR prince. I just can’t with some of the comments.

      • et alors says:

@jammypants, I just want to tell you I always enjoy reading your comments (probably because they usually mirror my thoughts), particularly your two comments in this thread.

      • jammypants says:

        @et alors, 🙂

I had to counter some opinions in here with some of my own!

    • NUTBALLS says:

Yeah, some of the comment threads went downhill into nastiness pretty quickly.

      • jammypants says:

I might have to avoid his fandom on the internet for a bit. Thank god for Torrilla!

      • Absolutely says:

I stand by my *opinion* that she’s boring. But if that’s the worst I can say about her, then that’s not really that bad.

      • jammypants says:

yea that’s not bad at all compared to “dumb as bricks” and “cheater”, ooft

on a much lighter note, I just noticed the last 3 hiddles posts uses the same image 😛

    • Lilacflowers says:

      @jammypants, has Torrila resurfaced?

As I said on one of the recent threads, it isn’t the gossip/speculation that I find troublesome, but the character judgments and labels generated out of nothing more than those speculations and the persons own set of values and rules, which may not be universally shared. Those labels get repeated in enough places and then become accepted, without any facts to support them. I don’t believe anyone is a fairy princess or unicorn Prince. We are all flawed. But I’m not willing to think ill of people without proof.

      • jammypants says:

@Lilac, She has! http://www.weibo.com/p/1005051846858632/home?from=page_100505&mod=TAB#place. That was from her twitter.

I agree with what you said about gossip. I also don’t see him as a glittery prince, but homewrecker is a strong accusation to make based on hearsay and stalkery unproven, blurry images.

Now, my opinion is different to a lot of people here, but if they really are dating, I think they are cute together. If Lizzie really did break off her engagement to be with Hiddleston, then I might think it’s shady, but it’s better to break it off then get married with regret on both sides.

      • Madly says:

Meh, you say that because you like him. People get flamed all the time on these boards and I don’t see him getting it that bad. You are just being very sensitive to it because you are a fan.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Madly, and I avoid passing judgment on others as well unless there is pretty solid evidence, not just gossip/speculation.

@jammypants, thanks! Although I find that website a bit difficult to understand the set-up. As for them as a couple, I have no opinion on who either dates, so long as it is an unmarried adult.

      • NUTBALLS says:

I see it as logical rather than being overly sensitive. I wouldn’t want someone assassinating my character based on speculation so I try not to do it to others.

      • Madly says:

I think it is logical to allow for the possibility that it happened. I am not saying it did or didn’t, just that there seems to be a lot of coincidences that suggest that it could be so.

      • neverland says:

For me, there’s just as much “suggestion” that she ended her relationship in order to be with Tom /before/ acting on her feelings, thereby avoiding infidelity, as there is that they cheated. As in, it’s mostly people assuming whatever their perception inclines them to.
I don’t think anyone’s denying that if here dating, its a quick turnaround from her engagement. But to automatically assume that “evidence” points towards infidelity is jumping the gun. As for “from the horse’s mouth” I saw earlier upthread… if you read the USWeekly article, it actually hints at there being no cheating (“it’s perfect timing because she just broke up… she wants to make a new life for herself”). Getting close while filming /=/ having sex. Could just as easily be emotional closeness.

  44. p'enny says:

And it’s starts… flag drops, Bendy is in quiet phase, Tom comes out to play. Knock us dead, with showmance. #cynicaleyesofmine HE BELONGS TO LILACFLOWERS, NUTBALLS [occasiongly] and MOI!

Actually keep an eye this saturday for film news, Venice and TOronto this weekend released their film schedules. #fingers crossed for High Rise and ISTL

gossip aside of loves lives and etc etc etc films news is more exciting to me.

    • koko says:

      We’ve missed you @p’enny.

    • NUTBALLS says:

Fasten your seatbelts, it’s gonna be a bumpy awards season…

    • Lilacflowers says:

P’enny, there is a fresh batch of Kahlua brownies on the veranda for you. Yes, watching for the film festival announcements this weekend and wondering whatever happened to the Nerdist podcast

    • waitwhat says:

Just a minor correction – TIFF releases their first list on the 28th, Venice on the 29th, which are Tuesday/Wednesday. But yes, I can’t wait. Hoping for all of the films somewhere.

      • Dara says:

I’ve converted to the idea that Telluride will get ISTL first, and Toronto will have it in their second week. A very astute person on Tumblr (there are a few) pointed out that Rodney Crowell/Emmylou Harris have a concert date in Toronto on the 17th of September (during the festival), which is also Hank Williams’ birthday. Make of that what you will.

I don’t really see ISTL at Venice – but perhaps High Rise will finally make it to a festival and Venice seems like a good fit.

With Tom tweeting BFI-related info lately, I’m leaning toward something related to the London Film Festival as well, just not quite sure which film. Maybe a jury spot for Tom? Although LFF falls right before the Crimson Peak premiere and probably during Skull Island filming so he may have commitments elsewhere.

Then again, I thought High Rise would feature prominently at Cannes – and we all know that didn’t happen. I’m not betting real money on anything at this point.

      • Madly says:

TIFF is really the beginning of more obvious campaign. Lots of films with buzz go there and the buzz dies as reviews come in and they don’t live up to expectations. It will be interesting to see how ISTL is received.

I just worry his ambition makes him a Benedict and not an Eddie.

      • Lilacflowers says:

If his ambition were that level, he would have finagled a Oscar presentation stint this year, complete with red carpet photo bombing, to get himself seen and ingratiated instead of spending that night supporting a repertory theatre somewhere in England and he would have put in an appearance at the Met Gala, which both of those other actors did in 2014 as part of their long-haul Oscar campaigns. So far, he seems to be playing things more quietly. That may change but until the past week, he’s been pretty much out of sight and not cuddling up to voters. I hope that it doesn’t change and, despite having three films to promote this fall, he continues in a quieter fashion while fulfilling contractual duties and all that. Besides, we might see Fassbender go Full Batch, to please Alicia, and that will be a sight to behold.

      • Freshmeat says:

@ Lilac Fassy and Vika are going to be all sorts of mind blowing fun if he batches out. No wins for her might probably be the end of them if she’s truly that ambitious. Agreed that Tom will be around with his campaign but quietly. Lizzie I can see being all over it if she’s nominated.

  45. koko says:

With little on either one’s schedule till SI begins filming in the fall, minus a festival or 2, at which they can both appear, I predict a full blown romance by the CP premiere at which they will walk the red carpet together. If an engagement and baby follow next year…well that would be icing on the cake.

  46. Sally says:

Will he knock her up like BC did with his then-girlfriend?

  47. Lilacflowers says:

Rodney Crowell is doing a free concert here Saturday. I do hope he brings a surprise guest.

  48. Beach girl says:

This is so shallow and selfish but now that it looks like he’s with someone do you suppose the ‘conda will go into hiding?

  49. Beach girl says:

If he wants to prevent a compete meltdown in the fandom this awards season he better think twice about restricting anything..

First reaction to ISTL test screening:

    https://twitter.com/MichaelNotCera/status/623982718477594624

  51. Allegra says:

    from ‏@MichaelNotCera:

    I SAW THE LIGHT reaction:
Elisabeth Olsen was phenomenal, Tom Hiddleston was really good too (though script held him back a bit)

    • Allegra says:

This guy attended a testing in in MA.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Interesting. There were screenings of Southpaw last night in Boston but I didn’t see anything for ISTL.

As I said above, Rodney Crowell will be in town this weekend so the timing is very interesting.

      • Allegra says:

        @Lilacflower:
I hope this time you get the chance to see Rodney C. and maybe he can bring Tom along with him.

About the movies, I think this year , the competition for top prizes will be tough.
And Jake Gyllenhaal’s movie looks great, but I’m rooting for Tom.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Well, I am going to see Rodney C (and Emmylou Harris, which is why my BF is insistent that we go). Last year, I got dragged to a Willie Nelson concert and was got a surprise treat of “Johnny on guitar” as Depp filled in for the entire set, so I may have had my fill of surprise guests.

      • NUTBALLS says:

I don’t know about Rodney, but I saw Emmylou with her band years ago and was mesmerized.

    • Waitwhat says:

Now he’s come back to say HE didn’t see the screening, he just heard from someone who did. But yay! Test screenings! Film festival announcements! Bring ’em all on!

      • Allegra says:

I think he is lying. I saw his others tweets and he is a person that gets invitation to
a bunch of movies. Maybe someone from Sony ask him to keep quiet.

  52. Lilacflowers says:

Well, Oscar predictions and race-capping has begun in earnest for a number of films.

    http://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/jul/21/and-the-oscar-may-go-to-40-key-movies-in-contention-for-2016-awards

    http://www.awardscircuit.com/oscar-predictions/2014-oscar-predictions-best-actor/

Based on just the trailer, I would put Hardy’s Legend quite a bit farther up on that list. And if Bryan Cranston’s performance in Trumbo is anything like the stage performance I saw Brian Dennehy give, he’ll move up as well. That is an incredibly powerful play.

    • Madly says:

Jake G is pushing hard, but I don’t know if Southpaw will have the legs.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Jake G has two films coming hard; Southpaw and Demolition with Naomi Watts and Chris Cooper, two AMPAS faves.

      • Dara says:

I think Demolition has had their date pushed back to 2016, but Gyllenhaal has Everest too – it’s premiering at the Venice FF, and was getting some good early buzz.

Revenant looks like it will skip the festivals to finish post production, so Leo and Hardy will need to really hit it out of the park to make an impression. Could Hardy get some play for the Kray movie, playing twins?

I think Best Actor is going to be a really tough category this year.

      • waitwhat says:

@Dara’s right, Demolition is pushed off to April. And Southpaw is getting mixed to negative reviews, so I doubt it will be the smash it needs to be for JG.

The Revenant is still shooting, I think I heard. That is going to need a huge push since it comes out Dec. 25th, post-SAG and Golden Globes deadline. If it’s still in post and hadn’t screened at fests, it could underperform.

That Twitter poster also said the Dansh Girl test screening was canceled or postponed. But I don’t know how much to believe from him.

      • Dara says:

@waitwhat, good catch- I read Revenant is heading to South America to find snow for some additional scenes/reshoots. The director will have his work cut out for him to finish the film by Christmas. It still feels like a frontrunner, but I didn’t realize a Dec25 release misses the SAG and GG deadline – good to know.

For anyone that’s interested – It’s a few years old, but I found this article a great look at what goes into an awards campaign. I particularly liked what Octavia Spencer said about the experience. http://www.fastcocreate.com/1682410/for-your-consideration-making-an-oscar-winning-movie-campaign

  53. Madly says:

And now the latest updates from fan fiction is that they met each others’ families and they are practically engaged. All this from a few blurry photos.

    • TotallyBiased says:

“it’s just two people and one nice handbag having a stroll.”

I’m trying to figure out WHEN in his whirlwind tour of SD, SM, and LA he had time to meet family living in NY. 😉

I’ll just leave these immortal words here, from the great Anne-Tommy upthread.

  54. et alors says:

This is a comment from a poster in the Awards Watch forums who apparently knows the same screening attendee that @MichaelNotCera tweeted about. It’s in response to someone saying the feedback makes it seem as if Lizzie steals the spotlight from Tom in ISTL like Kate Winslet does with Michael Fassbender in Steve Jobs. Sounds like Lizzie’s role might be sizeable enough to put her in contention for Best Actress rather than Best Supporting Actress:

“I heard Tom was great too, he just stressed how incredible Olsen was in this as well.”

    • NUTBALLS says:

Hmmm… Just to make things a little more interesting, now we have the possibility of Tom being out-shined by his co-star and rumored g/f. We haven’t even been discussing Elizabeth’s possible campaign. Now I’m even more anxious to see this movie and watching how it fares during awards season.

      • et alors says:

No, the poster was refuting what another person was suggesting about Lizzie possibly outshining Tom. He said he’s heard they’re both great in the movie. It’s just that most of the talk until now has been about Tom’s Oscar chances, but it seems Lizzie gives a very strong performance that may put her in contention for a Best Supporting Actress or Best Actress nomination, depending on how big her role is. So, like Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander, this could be a celebrity couple in which both people are nominated.

      • NUTBALLS says:

et alors, I hope so. Tom/Liz/Fassy/Alicia are the ones I’m most interested in watching during the awards season. Not just for their performances.

    • et alors says:

Uh oh. From the comments in the Rolling Stone Country article announcing the release date:

“I saw it last evening. Sorry to report that it’s flat. It’s not a good biopic or a decent representation of a career.”

I don’t understand the last bit since the biography upon which the movie is based is so acclaimed, but we’ll see if there’s consensus once more reactions start coming in.

      • p'enny says:

well, Below the Line didnt get great reviews either, but the actors came off strong.
I think Rolling Stone Country will be very protective over Hank Williams and will have a very knowledgble take on the film, but won’t represent the general public who may go see the film and no nothing about Hank W. There isn’t a film biog going that is correct, whether it’s Imitation Game to Liberace. Stuff will always be manipulated

The other issue pick up with Rolling Stone , in your quote above is a ‘representation of his career’ The film isn’t based on his ‘career’ but his life. it’s not a music documentary, it’s a love story.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Who knows, maybe that reviewer is a big HW3 fan and went into it expecting to be disappointed. I just hope other reviewers won’t pick up on any of the negative press and let it color their impressions.

My biggest fear has been that the director couldn’t craft a decent script or that he’d shoot, slice and dice it all wrong and take away from otherwise great performances. It’s not like he had a history of churning out masterpieces. The first reviewer that said Tom was held back by the script didn’t alleviate those concerns.

But, the fact that Sony picked it up and they have a good track record at the Oscars still gives me hope.

      • koko says:

I’m just wondering why we can’t go see a movie and just enjoy it for what it is, a bit of respite from the world.

      • et alors says:

@p’enny, just to make sure there’s no confusion, the review was from a commenter on the article, not from Rolling Stone itself. Also, I disagree that the film is a love story. It’s a biopic about a legendary musician’s life which will encompass both his personal life ( which included two wives and Bobbie Jett) and his musical career.

@NUTBALLS, I feel the same trepidation as you about Marc Abraham’s script, but as you said, SPC seems to have a lot of confidence in the film, so I’m employing a “wait and see” approach.

      • Lilacflowers says:

I didn’t particularly like the biography on which it was based. I found the writing a bit choppy and often devolved into “Hank went here. Audrey went there. Hank tried this. Audrey wasn’t satisfied. Hank went there.” As far as film reviews, I try to avoid non-professional commentary on message boards and Twitter. I’m going to see this anyway but will wait for professional reviewers I like (Ty Burr, Wesley Morris) to weigh in. During the poor video quality, improperly taped version of the SDCC podcast that was bouncing around, as the usher is telling the woman to stop filming, Tom can be heard saying that ISTL is the story of a really, really bad marriage

      • NUTBALLS says:

Speaking of Nerdist… they tweeted that the podcast will be out on Monday. I’ve been looking forward to hearing his comments on ISTL.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@nutballs, when did they tweet that? People were claiming that they tweeted it would be out this past Monday but it wasn’t. Now you say they tweeted for next Monday but I just checked their twitter account postings for the past two days and found nothing.

    • Lilacflowers says:

I just popped in to comment about that. Russell Crowe could be fantastic or disastrous or fantastically disastrous. I don’t know much about her. I do wonder if Tom’s few days in the states after SDCC involved meeting/testing potential cast mates, along with some editorial level PR interviews for CP and ISTL.

      • et alors says:

I mean, I suppose Crowe isn’t a bad replacement. I’ve enjoyed his work in the past (3:10 to Yuma, Master and Commander), but none of his recent work has interested me. As for Larson, I found her annoying on Community and in 21 Jump Street, but she wasn’t bad in Don Jon. Apparently, she did great work in Short Term 12 and just finished Ben Wheatley’s Free Fire, so she’s a decent actress. I just wish they had cast the role with a little diversity in mind.

Also, I agree that Tom must have spent some of his time in LA after SDCC working on this.

      • TotallyBiased says:

That was my take, Lilac–we know he left San Diego immediately after his part of the podcast (which is why we didn’t get Arya and Loki on the same stage) and spent at least Saturday night in Santa Monica (I’d guess Shutters at the Beach, as they are popular with celebs for many reasons, not the least of which is their staff discretion.)
        Very convenient to meetings/readings.

      • Dara says:

@Totally – I missed the stop in Santa Monica, was there a fan sighting or something? If I had my choice of where to stay at the beach in LA, Shutters would be at the top of my list – that place looks amazing.

I crushed hard on Russell Crowe during his Gladiator/Proof of Life/Beautiful Mind days. My ardor has diminished somewhat, but I still really enjoyed 3:10 to Yuma, Master and Commander and Robin Hood w/ Cate Blanchett. Given the right role, he’s still terrific.

      • TotallyBiased says:

I admit I’m making an assumption (shame on me!) based on past evidence and a tweet from his PA (who was with him this trip.)

Somewhere up thread is someone bemoaning that he didn’t intermingle with fans at SDCC, which I thought was funny! 150,00 badged participants plus the people who show up for outside events (NerdHQ, Nerdist Podcasts, and the like) and they expect him to stop and casually sign for awhile? He didn’t do that in 2013–signings then and now were done the official autograph events only. He walked through the crowd (not shrinking back from hand and eye contact) at least once, smiling into peoples’ cameras/phones so they could get great pics of him, and folks didn’t see him outside the Balboa theatre after the Nerdist event because he’d already left. (As for that detail, attendee I know personally was told that by a befriended usher, and felt there was no reason to doubt them.)

As for Hilton Hotel sightings during the day, talent coming in for an event like this often has a hotel room booked to relax and freshen up in even if they aren’t staying the night. Especially if they are coming in from a great distance away.

Arnold Schwartzenegger story: he practically lived at the downtown Minneapolis Marriott during filming of Jingle All the Way, even celebrating his wedding anniversary there. When he was in town months later for an event miles away at the Mall of America (out by the airport), he evidently insisted on a bathroom break at that same Marriott, because ‘it was like home to him.’ So one of the Presidential Suites was booked for the weekend, and he spent a grand total of less than three hours at the hotel!
And this required transporting him into town from the MoA/Airport area, as well! Granted, he’s an A-lister–but I think you get the idea. 🙂

      • waitwhat says:

@dara @TB His PA tweeted a picture of the pier a couple of days later (Monday) and it definitely looks like it was Shutters area. I think it’s his usual place. Wasn’t he there before Bora Bora, and the Avengers premiere? And probably stopped in for that photo session with Matthias Vriens-McGrath during those days, too.

I want to see her in Trainwreck playing Amy Schumer’s sister. She looks like she could be a spunky lead a la Marion Ravenwood.

      • Dara says:

Thanks for the info- I always forget his PA has Twitter too.

As for Tom not mingling, I don’t think some fans realize how choreographed events like SDCC are, and the organizers cram as many official appearances, photo calls, interviews, etc. into the day as they can. Stopping for unplanned autographs or fan selfies would have completely screwed things up.

It’s not like the talent is killing time at the hotel bar in between events – although some do if they are there more than a day. I even saw a fan selfie with a very grumpy Jesse Eisenberg having breakfast that morning in a cafe. Apparently being part of a genocide didn’t affect his appetite.

      • TotallyBiased says:

@waitwhat –I know the tweet is dated Monday, but I have him on mobile notifications (what, he’s funny!) and remembered seeing it ( I guess before I went to bed Sunday/Monday) at a time where it obviously had to have been taken Sunday.

  55. curious says:

    @Ariadne are you NW3? lol
No seriously give us more pleeeeaaasse!

  56. et alors says:

Another sighting of Tom with someone who looks a lot like Lizzie at a performance of The Elephant Man tonight. This time, there’s video.

    https://twitter.com/WilyCharlemagne/status/624343251894579200

    • Frenchy1212 says:

Beat me to it. It’s her….but THEY’RE JUST FRIENDS!! Yeah, riiiiight.

      • TotallyBiased says:

Eh, maybe they’re dating. But we don’t actually know anything.

      • Frenchy1212 says:

Another twitter user said they ‘looked very cozy.’

I’m inclined to think it’s a relationship. Maybe casual, maybe rebound for her, maybe FWB…but probably a relationship.

      • NUTBALLS says:

The more sightings, the more convinced I am they’re getting it on. I’m not convinced it’ll last beyond the Oscars, however.

Good on ’em… not a bad way to spend your summer.

    • TotallyBiased says:

“Hey, look, that’s Tom Hiddleston” “Really?” “Yeah, really!” –tall guy pointing across crowd coming out of theatre. Tweeted and instagrammed by tourist. Of course. Because I’d LIKE to think Londoners would be a bit cooler about it.
And it was a fanBOY, not a fangirl.

      • Freshmeat says:

This is better evidence but still kinda blurry. Still doesn’t equal full on dating. I wonder if that dude hadn’t of screamed out his name if we’d of seen some touching. But then maybe knowing they would be going out the front door they purposely refrained. Not to mention he looks amused at getting called out. While she kinda looked oblivious.
Where’s that damn yellow handbag when you need it!

      • Dara says:

That’s definitely them. Together. Thank God there’s finally proof, of a sort. At least now we can stop guessing, second-guessing and de-bunking and move on the really important part – friendship or true love? Or something in between. Let the speculation commence!

      • Freshmeat says:

I’m going to leave it as such. Until they say so or they are irrefutably captured en amour, it’s buddies.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Freshmeat, if it turns out to be a romance, at this point it won’t be a shocker, will it? They’ve laid the groundwork for seeing them in some sort of PDA in the near future. Easing the uberfans into the reality of their Prince romancing his co-star.

I don’t have any issues with this pairing — I just wish it wasn’t so cliche and predictable with the rumored Oscar buzz about ISTL.

      • Freshmeat says:

@ nutty I agree that whatever it is, it’s being well timed. But somehow I don’t see this pairing as end all. For now it may work for where they seem to be at. To me they are both still building careers and maintaining is hard. Even us regular folks have similar issues when you’re working hard.

Then again I can also see the flipside. Meaning just because you’re not all over each other or gushing about each other doesn’t mean you’re not solid. Or it’s just a way of keeping as much privacy as possible without full on hiding.

    • Curious says:

That doesn’t look at lot like Lizzy….. That most definately IS Lizzy. So it really is true then 😢 oh well

      • browniecakes says:

Both look pretty casual, Lizzie with a gym pony tail and Tom is wearing THOSE glasses again. Not a great look for him. I would definitely doll-up for a date with TH.

      • TotallyBiased says:

Doesn’t want to let me edit my reply to Frenchy1212, but:
I hope he’s having fun, whatever is going on, but if he was dating/banging everyone he’s been seen with at dinner/coffee/the theatre (esp more than once) then he’s been a busy boy with Sian C, Lara Pulver, Cumby himself, HBC, and more–in fact, he was holding hands a LOT with Guillermo del Toro at SDCC!

      • NUTBALLS says:

Funny, I thought they both looked appropriately dressed for the theatre, not too casual. I don’t mind the glasses on him, strangely enough. I thought he looked good in them at Wimbledon. Different strokes for different folks.

      • Dara says:

        I love the glasses!

    • NUTBALLS says:

That was definitely Elizabeth. Seems like a normal thing that friends or couples would do, however.

I maintain my current theory that they want people to chatter and assume they’re dating to get buzz going for ISTL and prepare the uberfans for future red carpet walks together. Is it too much to hope that she’ll be there for the CP premier??

      • Freshmeat says:

@ nutty Especially if the first reviews of ISTL are questionable. It could help pump it up. Also you’re right I along with tons of people have great friends of this nature.

      • Madly says:

Yeah, the timeline of why is happening with their film is coinciding too much with this. Smelly.

    • et alors says:

“Cozy” seems to be the key descriptor for this relationship. 🙂

      https://twitter.com/chrlttrd/status/624364010159349760

      • Frenchy1212 says:

I think ‘cozy’ translates to ‘she was riding him like a rodeo star’ during intermission.

      • NUTBALLS says:

        Frenchy… HA!!

I have little doubt she’s riding him like Seabiscuit behind closed doors.

      • et alors says:

        Well, that’s certainly a creative interpretation. 😉

      • NUTBALLS says:

Frenchy’s mind wanders down the same dirty little trail that mine does. Of course, I may just be projecting what I’d be doing if I were Lizzy. The touching would not be platonic. 🙂

  57. browniecakes says:

TH has a pretty big smile on his face in that video.

  58. Solanacaea (Nighty) says:

Good for them, whether friendship, fwb or a realtionship they look good together… But the speculation is funny… Are they dating and the rumours from the last months were planted by their PRs as to prepare the fans for the shock of having their prince stolen by Olsen? ihihihihi

    Shall I bring popcorns?

    • NUTBALLS says:

Yes and yes. Popcorn is always an appropriate snack for a show. Would you like me to mix you a Pervy Tombanger to go with it?

    • Lilacflowers says:

Nighty, if you would like to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show, Colin has prepared popcorn and other snacks on the veranda and he will mix you a beverage of your choice. If you prefer to enter the fray of wild speculation, vending machines dispensing free snacks and beverages are on the far side of the property in the meadow.

    • Dara says:

In the meantime, can someone restock the tray in the Conspiracy Theory Gazebo? Am I imagining it or is Olsen much, much taller in the theatre video than she was in the yellow purse photo? I suppose it could be the difference between heels and flats, but it looks like she’s a good 4-6 inches taller in the new video. Now is a good time for someone tell me I’m being ridiculous and to hand me a refill…

      • et alors says:

@Dara, check out the pics in the JJ link that Frenchy1212 posted below. She’s wearing heels. Same black cigarette pants, though.

      • NUTBALLS says:

She was wearing heels… check out the snaps below. And enjoy another beverage, Dara dear. The fun is just beginning!

      • Lilacflowers says:

Colin is sending you a refill by way of a drone. Mark has told him that it is too risky to leave the porch to reach the gazebo. So drone it is.

      • Dara says:

OK, mystery solved – she was wearing heels. http://www.justjared.com/photo-gallery/3423006/tom-hiddleston-elizabeth-olsen-step-out-on-date-night-10/

That’s a relief, I was seriously questioning my ability for rational thought.

      • Freshmeat says:

@ Dara I thought the same thing. But in there Jared pics she’s got heels on.

      • Dara says:

I really like her shoes. Cute but still practical. A block heel makes it much easier to walk than a skinny heel. And she’s going to need good, stable footwear to keep up with Legs-for-Days. Gosh darn it – a good bag, great shoes and a hunky date for the theatre – she’s won the lottery.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Dara don’t forget, she’s also got a NICE RACK.

      • Dara says:

And family members in the fashion industry – so not just cool clothes, but cool FREE clothes. I’m trying my best not to be jealous, but damn if it isn’t difficult.

Nutty, I was trying to be all politically correct and not remark upon her aesthetically pleasing rack-age, but yeah, add that (them?) to the list too.

  59. whipmyhairbacknforth says:

The sister-truthers must be devastated now that there is a video of them.

  60. Frenchy1212 says:

It just keeps getting better and better! Thank you JustJared notifications!

    http://www.justjared.com/2015/07/23/tom-hiddleston-elizabeth-olsen-step-out-on-date-night/

    • NUTBALLS says:

Does Lizzy always cover her face around the paps?

      • Dara says:

Not usually (that I remember) – but most of the candid shots I’ve seen of her have been during the daytime and taken from a decent distance away. Could just be a reflex to preserve her eyesight.

    • pixie-stix says:

Thanks Frenchy. EO does not look happy about the attention. He looks really handsome, love the cheaters. B-)
@Nutballs, if there’s any more of those Pervy Tombangers about, I’ve got my growler on the ready, cheers.

      • NUTBALLS says:

*frantically mixes a pitcher of Pervy Tombangers*

[In mah best ‘bama drawl] Why pixie, how lovely of you to stop by — I haven’t seen you in a month o’ Sundays. Come over here and sit for a spell and enjoy a drink with me. May I suggest the Caramel Cake that Colin is serving? It’s so good, you’ll wanna slap yo mama. Goes perfectly with the PervyToms that I’ve been guzzling all evening. That boy knows how to drive a lady to drink, doesn’t he?

      • Frenchy1212 says:

May I ask? What exactly is in a PervyTom? I mean, I’m assuming it has a long pour of “s-crotch” whiskey. But what else?

      • pixie-stix says:

He does indeed, mah dear. I’ve been missing out on the action but sh*t’s hit the fan today, and I’m just in time! Lovely to sit next to you and enjoy a bevy…and that cake sounds delish (esp. w/Colin serving). I suspect we’re in for a wild ride, is there a seat belt attached to your chair?

    • Freshmeat says:

Whoop there it is! There’s the pudding. But why is Lizzie trying so hard to hide at this point.

      • Dara says:

Ugh – why is she hiding? Or is it just pure instinct when blinding flashing are going off a few feet from you? They had to know going to the Wolseley was going to get them photographed. It’s on the short list of celeb hot spots in London, I think paparazzi hang out there on a regular basis and/or someone made a phone call. *waves at Luke*

I would have bet money they were just living their lives and this wasn’t some sort of organized PR relationship-rollout. Now I’m not so sure.

      • Frenchy1212 says:

@Dara – This!! It’s The Wolseley – not exactly like The Ivy, but close. No one should have to deal with that after dinner, but if you’re a celeb and go to The Wolseley, expect that you’re going to have to run the gauntlet.

      • Freshmeat says:

Yes going to well known pap spot , they shouldn’t be suprised.

I wonder by her expressions how much she’s just playing annoyed. Because one pic it looks like she’s smirking a bit. But of course I know reading expressions on pics is questionable. He looks quietly irritated, but still cool as a cucumber.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Welcome to the dark side, Dara. Where there’s Hiddleston and publicity, I always see Lukey-Duke in the background, working hard for the money.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Paparazzi do have Twitter accounts. With people tweeting about them at the theater and hundreds re-tweeting that video, the paps would have been on notice that they were out and about and if you look at the twitter feed for the video, some woman was tweeting that they were in same restaurant she was.

    • et alors says:

OK, now I feel bad for them. Neither one of them looks particularly happy.

      • Freshmeat says:

@ et alors This is the flipside. What if they are really just having an evening out as friends? . There’s that human guilt in me that says what if I were them. I wouldn’t be amused either.

      • Lilacflowers says:

She looks annoyed and my dear husband looks stunned.

      • Frenchy1212 says:

@Lilacflowers – He looks stunned because he turned around to talk to you, and some stranger was behind him with a bag over her face.

Where’s Lilac? She was just here.

      • et alors says:

I remember reading an interview with her where she talked about all the attention Tom would get when they would go out for coffee in Shreveport. She said he told her to prepare herself for the same attention when Age of Ultron came out. I don’t think this is quite what they were expecting.

  61. et alors says:

Ha, @Frenchy1212 beat me to the punch this time!

    • NUTBALLS says:

I’m just glad someone else is willing to bring these over for lazyasses like myself that won’t bother to scour the interwebs. CB comment threads are a one-stop-shop for Hiddles news with you, Frenchy and TeeBee and y’alls super-sluething.

      • et alors says:

Thanks, @NUTBALLS, but I’ve just got a Twitter search page bookmarked (I don’t even have a Twitter or Tumblr account) for most of my news. 🙂 Filter out the crazies, and there’s not much traffic to look through when I’m procrastinating at work.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Wait…where did TotallyBiased run off to? She’s normally all over this sh*t.

Same with Allegra. She’s usually bringing the juicy bits over.

      • TotallyBiased says:

Not to be Debbie Downer, but my mom’s cat died. And I har stuff to take care of in connection with that. So, I’ve just been glancing at the pap pics. Just enough to shake my head at the seriously invasive ‘Let’s put the camera to the window and fire off the flash, see what we get’ shot.Lizzie looks tortured.
SUPPOSEDLY over the past year the Wolseley has fallen out of favour as a top celeb/pap spot, which would explain why it looks like they were ambushed by a bunch of bottom feeders.
Would also explain why the freelancers/stringers went so crazy–they are probably the biggest names to be snapped coming out of the restaurant in weeks, if not months.
Even ‘regular’ Kat Moss hasn’t been papped coming out of Wolseley since November.
So this might have been a case of EO wanting to go to a really nice London restaurant, and them thinking it wouldn’t be such a big deal (hence the unhappy faces.)
OR it could all be in Luke’s hands.
But I’m not going near the Conspiracy Gazebo–I’m too young to die!

    • Frenchy1212 says:

      All the CHRISTMASSSSSEEEEESSSS!

    • Frenchy1212 says:

I will just say this: Lizzie, gurl, you are out with a good looking man – put your hands down.

      • NUTBALLS says:

No kidding, Frency. She should be sashaying her ass in front of the camera with a shit-eatin’ grin that says “F*ck yeah b*tches, I’m doin’ him!”. Hell, I’d be letting them see my flushed face from the preliminary festivities we had just engaged in. She’s really not taking full advantage of the power she wields over the butthurt fans, is she?

      • Frenchy1212 says:

@Nutballs – Liz, get your head in the game, or get off the field. The butthurts aren’t going to give themselves aneurysms.

  62. browniecakes says:

Luke must be having kittens. Shoulda taken the Jag.

  63. et alors says:

You can see in the video in the Daily Mail’s latest article that the reason Lizzie has her face covered up is that the paps were in her face with the flash photography. Tom stepped away from her to hail a cab.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3172977/Elizabeth-Olsen-Tom-Hiddleston-ensure-aren-t-chatter-continues-appear-enjoy-date-night-native-London.html

In one of the photos from the JJ article, you can see her grimacing in the cab after being blinded by the flashes going off outside.

    http://www.justjared.com/photo-gallery/3423078/tom-hiddleston-elizabeth-olsen-step-out-on-date-night-28/
