All, there is some news that I want to share. It is off topic with the links but I it just fills me with glee as I am have a not so great day at work.
Rocky is on Netflix. Yippee. I know what I doing this weekend. Hell, I might even watch Rocky V as I try to forget that one ever existed.
I’ve never seen a James Bond film and, I too, am over the franchise.

Honestly @Abbott if you are really curious give Casino Royale with Craig a try. You don’t need to know anything and it’s a pretty terrific movie regardless of being a “Bond” movie. Skyfall is great but it helps to have seen Casino Royale. Skip Quantum of Solace,.
For classic Bond try Goldfinger or From Russia With Love. They pretty much cover everything you need to know! Everything else I can take or leave and some of them are hilarious bad!
I have never seen one in its entirety either. Sometimes I try to watch one and I give up. I find spy stories incredibly boring and Bond’ s character just pisses me off. I don’ t like Daniel Craig, but even the movies with other actors don’ t do it for me.
I loved the old bond films with Connery and Moore, the weird crazy baddies, and the campy action and sex scenes. These films belong to the 70s and 80s by nature. Trying to do Bond in the contemporary period makes him look really dated, which he is. If they’d made him more like Bourne or something, that would have been better. A brainy, techie Bond. But the producers are purists.
Hmmm, well the scene with Q is cute but I must say this didn’t grab me the way the Skyfall trailer did.
I am not a huge Bond fan, but I loved Casino Royale and Skyfall.

I got an Agents of Shield vibe… Looks like a Hydra deal, but I will still watch it. I am a confirmed Bond fan and never miss any of them, loved Craig in the role. Wish Armitage were still young enough for the role, he would be spectacular.
YES Armitage for Bond would be the dream <3 Since he's too old I'm rooting for Tom Hardy to get it when Craig's done.

I watched the trailer without sound and I just realized something. Daniel Craig’s Bond has exactly the some body language as Vladimir Putin. Who is copying who?

Who came first to fame – Putin or Craig as Bond? I think it was Putin, so maybe Craig copies him. They do look similar with Craig-out-of-the-water scene and Putin on those older photos where he was topless.

I actually think the trailer makes the movie look rather good, and I get the impression the “over it” attitude is part of the plot, as he’s obviously acting in a way that’s not approved by his superiors. Nothing will ever match Casino Royale for me, though. I loved that movie.
Tell me about it. I started to feel interested in Bond because of Casino Royale. Daniel Craig is the best, and Eva Green did an amazing job making a bond girl so lovely and strong at the same time.
Hmmm… I’ll have to view it again, but I think I disagree regarding Daniel Craig’s attitude. The storyline and his Bond ARE in a bad place emotionally. Even good ole Christoph Waltz tells Bond that he is the orchestrater of all his (Bond’s) misery. Skyfall let us in on JB’s secrets. Woot!
Also, on Lainey’s Gossip…maybe it was Sarah who said it was too much like Batman. Meh. They’ve hinted at JB’s haunted past in other movies. Way back when George Lazenby played him once. In the early 70’s, I believe. Way before the Batman movies. Yes, I am old 🙂
