  1. Don't kill me I'm French says:

Her necklace looks cheap for $500,000

  2. Tiffany27 says:

This season of True Detective is just……….not good.

    • Cran says:

I loved last season soooo much. Nothing I have read about this season interests me. Nothing.

      • Fifee says:

I havent watched any of this season only for the reason that last season was absolutely sensational and nothing imho can top Woody, Matthew and the storyline.

Maybe I’ll give it a go when its finished and I can have a marathon afternoon / evening.

    • Kitten says:

It’s painfully bad. The only good part was the end of episode four when they finally had some action.
First, I just don’t give a f*ck about any of these characters. Second, the dialogue is terrible and the plot is so frigging disjointed. I’m hate-watching it at this point.

I feel bad for Colin Farrell, whom I never really liked that much, and Taylor Kitsch, whom I’d never seen before, because both are clearly trying their best to get through this terribly-written season with some solid acting. I truly have a newfound respect for Farrell.

      • sassy says:

half the time i’m rewinding to go WHAT THE ?????? or wait what happened ? who is that? the theme song KILLS me and if they show that girl on guitar in that bar one more time i’m going to LOSE it lol

  3. Sarah says:

That necklace seriously looks like something that came out of a gumball machine, absolutely mindblowing that it costs a half mil.

  4. Andrea says:

Uh, thought Miranda Kerr was hitting that(Packer)??

  5. LAK says:

The perks of dating a billionaire!!

  6. NGBoston says:

Oh, did the fugly Billionare give the Queen Diva a $500k Necklace? Afterall—-isn’t that what Mariah really needs?

How pretentious of both of them, if true. BTW, one does not go from appreciating the looks of someone like Nick Cannon, to what Mariah claims is her HERO now.

Let’s face facts everyone—he is only her HERO bc of the size of his Bank Account. Sorry, but he seems incredibly Douche-tastic to me. Ugh.

    • Kitten says:

Normally I’d agree with you but Mariah has a large fortune of her own. I don’t think she’s using him for money, I think she genuinely likes the guy— which is even more inexplicable to me.

      • Bridget says:

I think she wants to be with someone that will spoil her, even if she has her own money.

      • Ankhel says:

Bridget is probably right. And money does make most men appealing, no? Ask Trump or Bernie Ecclestone… Plus, Mariah was Nick’s meal ticket, so she might have wanted a change.

      • Kosmos says:

I agree. Don’t think she needs him for money, she’s got more than enough to live comfortably on. However, I don’t know why they have to make this so public. The price of the jewelry and all, just too much….we know they’re dating and we know he’s a billionaire etc. etc. Can’t they keep some things sacred? I’ve always been a Mariah fan since day one, but I’ll admit she is a bit on the diva-ish side, but being that she’s a nice person, I try to overlook the parts that are over the top, like her dressing style. I just hope she’s happy.

    • Tristan says:

He looks a lot like Shrek, but he also looks like he would be a LOT of fun between the sheets! I can totally understand the attection. Plus she seems really happy & engaged with the world again.

  7. savu says:

If you guys don’t follow Kara Brown’s “Shade Court” over on Jezebel, do it. “Mariah Carey is the most beautifully vicious creature I’ve ever seen and I wouldn’t want to live in a world without her.” Seriously, she’s legendary.

  8. Cinderella says:

Is this the new thing? Billionaires paying lavishing famous women with big money and gifts? It sounds so escort-y to me.

    • Sumodo1 says:

It’s an old thing, actually. Have you seen “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes?

      • belle de jour says:

I was just agreeing the other night with a friend about the awesome great-i-tude of the lyrics for ‘Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend’ – not to mention MM’s impeccable chops as a true comedian
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUGfC7GYi18

        Some things are timeless.

      • boredblond says:

Let’s see..in 1953..year of the film..the dollar was about like ten now..so the necklace would’ve been 50k..and today would’ve just kept up with inflation..Marilyn should’ve asked for a stock portfolio or bit of real estate..now those returns could be a girl’s best friend.💰

    • Snowflake says:

Yeah, pretty much. If you’re only dating him cause he’s rich, you’re prostituting yourself.

  9. Cerulean Skygirl says:

The only way that necklace cost 500K is if that center stone is a big yellow canary diamond. Even then, it doesn’t look like 1/2 million dollars worth. For that much money you’d expect to see pieces like the celebrities wear during awards shows.

As far as WHY she received it… ugh… reeks of materialism and whoredom. I wish more celebrities were like Angelina & Brad and realized that acts of kindness are so much more valuable than buying for the sake of having more “stuff”. If I had Mariah/Packer kind of money, there are so many amazing causes that I would support – both globally and locally.

  10. Sunsetsnow says:

J-Lo looks phenomenal, if slightly on the trashy side with the outfit.

    • Kitten says:

Her body is A-MAZING. I almost don’t care about her thirsty-ass outfits because if I looked that good at 46, I’d probably be showing it off too. A

Oh, and it needs to be reiterated that J Lo WORKS hard for that bod. She earns it and for that she has my respect.

      • Bridget says:

It really is. I have a couple of minor quibbles with her outfit (I actually wish it wasn’t quite so low cut in the chest since she’s already showing plenty of skin) but more power to her.

      • Jax says:

You said it Kitten. I’m a few years older than J Lo so I know exactly how hard she has to work to keep just that ASS looking so fantastic, much less the rest of her very fine bod. She deserves major respect for the discipline alone, and as you say–she has earned the right to show it off.

  11. smcollins says:

I love JLo’s haircut, but the sultry posing is getting really old. We get it, you’re SEXAAYY.

  12. SaddieSaddie says:

Since the ERA comments are closed on the Meryl Streep posting … I selected another post.
I like Meryl but I have 2 things to comment on … 1) When will Meryl step down from the Oscar race – like Candice Bergen when is enough awards enough – isn’t it someone’s else’s turn? Secondly the ERA issue rests on US women’s shoulders to take up the cause. IT was originally drafted/presented to senate in 1923 when will people think it’s important enough to get all 52 states onboard? Gloria Steinem made a an attempt in the 1960’s. IS it just a losing battle to take on the capitalistic male dominated US society. Maybe some fights can’t be won. I compare ERA to the civil war and how many years it was in the making/planning due to it’s impact on wealthy americans growing their riches on the backs of slaves.

    • kanyekardashian says:

I don’t get it, if you feel so strongly, why don’t you just start writing a political blog instead of trolling Mariah Carey gossip stories to make a point? You’re weird.

    • Jax says:

Why should Meryl step down? She has been nominated 23 times, but she has only won three times. Many times she had roles where she very much deserved to win, but it was someone else’s “turn” that year. She can get as many as she deserves in my book. And on top of all that ferocious talent she is genuinely a lovely person with a successful marriage and a handful of children who adore her. That’s what I call a well lived life. There will never be another like her.

      • Tristan says:

You are absolutely right! If she deserves the award, why shouldn’t she get it?

  13. Skins says:

These two just get creepier and creepier.

  14. kanyekardashian says:

She is so obsessed with money and owning things. Very sad.

  15. Ankhel says:

I don’t know about Snoop being the victim of racial profiling. Snoop profiling, maybe.

If I was a traffic cop and saw him behind the wheel, I would have started daydreaming of praise and a better position before I could even touch the accelerator. That dude’s NEVER sober.

    • jwoolman says:

He may have been too high to remember which country he was in…. Not sure how his urine could be clean regardless, it takes weeks for the metabolites from weed to clear and I doubt that he’s abstained that long.

Not that -isms don’t exist everywhere. But Sweden’s version is not going to be the same as ours here in the U.S. Different history.

  16. Momo says:

I was just thinking of Mariah Carey and her new billionaire beau. I love these two as a couple, don’t care much for them individually though. Mariah is beautiful in her own way, but its just so satisfying that the Packer is dating her after supermodel Miranda Kerr. See ladies, you don’t have to be perfect to get the man of your dreams!

Not to say that James Packer is a particular great boyfriend/husband.

    • Naddie says:

Is Mariah Carey any better than Miranda Kerr?

      • Momo says:

Superficially, no. Personality wise, no idea but Miranda seems less crazy. Imo Miranda is many times more beautiful than Mariah (who’s not ugly by any means), so its refreshing that billionaire James Packer doesn’t exclusively date supermodels like the majority of rich men.

  17. The necklace doesn’t really look THAT special to me. And to the troll: Meryl Streep can keep on getting awards until she retires!

  18. sad DSA says:

CMIIW, but does that necklace actually cost more than a leadless pacemaker implant? The tiny cylinder-shaped kind that doesn’t leave a scar? Damn (and, yes, I have expensive taste in healthcare).
