Here are some photos of Gwen Stefani at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Saturday. She was not wearing her wedding ring (following last Monday’s divorce-filing announcement) and she wore a somewhat odd outfit. I’m not a fan of overalls on grown women, but I understand that they are the choice du jour for some women on laundry day. What I really don’t understand is the flannel shirt being worn as a cape. Is that a thing? She doesn’t have her arms in the sleeves.
As we heard last week, Gwen possibly believes that Gavin Rossdale was cheating on her and that was one of the big reasons for their marriage ending. TMZ left it at that, that sources were telling them that Gwen believes Gavin cheated. Radar took it further by claiming that Gavin was “pulling an Affleck” and banging the nanny. Because every man in LA is a walking cliché. Anyway, Radar had some additional details about it:
According to a source, Gwen Stefani and the nanny, who cared for Kingston, 9, Zuma, 6, and Apollo, 17 months, “were very, very close…Gwen loaned her clothes, and was very generous with the younger woman. The nanny was very attractive, but in the beginning, Gwen trusted her and treated her as a younger sister/best friend.”
According to insiders, they were even known to dress alike! The woman was also a fixture on the set of The Voice and even accompanied the family on vacations. But over time, “Gwen had suspicions that Gavin and the nanny had become romantically involved,” the source revealed.
Both Rossdale and the woman strongly denied it, and there was no real evidence of any fling, but Stefani’s rising suspicions eventually drove the nanny to leave the job and Los Angeles and move back East, according to multiple sources. Said one source, “The constant stress and scrutiny just became unbearable for her.”
However, a separate source insisted it was Stefani who pulled the plug. “Gwen absolutely fired the nanny,” the source said. “She wasn’t going to have this going on around the kids.”
The sources also say that Gwen is “inconsolable” and Gavin “always denied” the nanny-banging. Sources say Gwen and Gavin were “sleeping in separate bedrooms for months… so it really didn’t make sense for Gavin to move out and upset the kids.” Meaning Gwen and Gavin are still living together for the time being.
As for how long they will live together and the divorce details which will be worked out in the months to come, Radar says that Gwen already offered Gavin a financial settlement so that she won’t have to significantly break up her alleged $120 million fortune. Sources tell Radar that Gavin’s really going after the money and Gwen is pissed about it. Everyone’s making a big deal about how Gwen didn’t make him sign a prenup, but they were married for 13 years and they live in California, you guys. In California, once you’ve been married for a decade, all sorts of community property laws come into play. So yes, Gwen is going to have to give Gavin a chunk of her fortune.

Meh, as someone who came of age in the 90s, I will always love Gwen but this seems odd to me if it’s true. There have been so many people over the years who came out and told stories of having affairs with Gavin over the years and claimed that Gwen knew all about it. Rumors of a break up have followed them for years, so I just assume that their relationship was probably rocky at best more often than not. Maybe this was the last straw, but it’s not like it’s the first or only time his cheating was brought to her attention. Personally I think Gavin is gay and has a problem with it so he tried to be married and cheats to overcompensate.
They were married for 13 years and have three kids together, this wasn’t a quickie marriage. I think it’s totally fine that he gets something. Not everything, but something. As far as the nannies are concerned, it all sounds so cliche. I do think this was a real marriage and it’s always sad when a family breaks up.
I do not get the line of thinking that when two well-off adults break up that one should give the other “something.” They should each contribute to the kids’ care, but they both have careers and can support themselves.
I agree. Unless he specifically abandoned his career altogether to be a stay at home dad, I don’t see why she has to give him anything.
Two people entered into a marriage and they’ve decided to part ways, if both have careers & are well-off & self-sufficient, then why does one need a “parting gift”?

..I dont know, there is always something unseemly about a man taking a woman’s money. I know that is completely sexist, and I KNOW everyone will scream at me, but I dunno…like Guy Ritchie taking god knows how much from Madonna and the country estate. A friend of mine is a Lawyer, and her hubby ran off with her best friend!
He quit his job to avoid paying child support. Then he took legal action to get her to pay Spousal support, while he lives and bangs with her best friend – six houses down the street.

Sexist or not, I agree with you Louise. It’s not like he stayed home with the kids and so could not work. They both continued to work and had nannies (obviously). She just happened to be more profitable with her talents than he is/was. I also find it seedy that he would cheat and then take her money. It wreaks of punishment.
Me too. Not like I personally know her(!), but I always liked her and it just seemed to be more and more drip drip drip of stuff coming out about him. We have all been there. We choose to believe what we want to and ignore the rest, because its painful. Perhaps she DIDNT know the extent of his relationship with Marilyn. Then there was the daughter (which admittedly he didn’t know) but still. Its a lot to take on. Imagine if it was your husband and you were finding out something new every so often. very tough. I can’t even name one song or anything he has done. He isn’t known for music in the UK at all. He is known for being Gwen’s husband.
On a different note, I saw her wedding dress in an exhibition in London. Looks better in pictures and surprised by how petite she must be.
I get it. I think it’s because it’s always the woman who has to actually give birth to the kids and therefore physically and mentally sacrifice a little more to start the family so if she is also the main source of income it seems more unbalanced that way.

If he’d actually sacrificed his career in any way to take care of the kids, I’d agree. As it is, he basically didn’t have as much talent and once his music went out of style, he didn’t have backup plans.

It truly is bafling how rich celebrities fail to have a private investigator to look into the past of a significant other before marrying. Or just simply Google. Celebrities are such easy targets for not so well meaning people.

Its gross that he’s going to take a big chunk of her money, and I think it would be equally gross if their genders were reversed. I don’t think a 50/50 split is at all equitable just because the marriage passed the 10 year mark.

When Tragic Kingdom came out, I was a young, awkward teen who hoped and prayed every day to be a fraction as cool as Gwen Stefani. “Spiderwebs” was a staple of school dances at the time. 90s Hawkeye is so annoyed with Gavin Rossdale.

Rumors have floated for years that they had an open marriage but it never seemed to be a truly two-ways street. It seemed to me that she cared for him more than he did for her, so she tolerated his sexual proclivities. I guess this was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Everyone saw this coming. I’ve always found him sleazy.

my best friend’s parents got divorced last year after 28 years and her dad was just disgusted he had to give her mom anything at all. Mom got the house because it was built on her family’s land but the dad took all the furniture and I’m talking everything…down to the bath rugs and shower curtains. People get petty in divorces
Divorces are the worst!! The division of property, finances. My bestie is almost done with hers and about the last few months were unnecessary.
It’s sad after being married all those years people just can’t divide everything up equally and call it a day without playing games.
It would save a lot of money and emotional distress. I wonder if someone has a guess total on how much money it would save if people never had to get a lawyer, or in some cases lawyers, involved.

Get that money Gavin. Fair is fair and the courts will decide. Had Bush stayed on top and Gwen been a stay at home mom she would take half too. He shouldn’t have to change his lifestyle because he needs to give his kids the same level of comfort when he is with them. To be able to live close by, travel to see them or what ever else is needed. Sorry but I say get it Gavin and deal with it Gwen. $$ is petty.

The Nanny story is ridiculous but it seems to be working with a lot of people. its just a good way for Gwen to get sympathy and for Gavin to keep his stunts with men undercover.

I think she’s impossibly awesome. She never tried to be anything other than herself. She could be facilitating that image, I get that, but…she’s just…awesome.
