Remember a few months ago when PETA put out an ad that was so incredibly sexy, it was banned from airing during the Superbowl? Well now they’re pushing the sexy raunchiness even further. That’s right, insane, nearly uncomfortable amounts of hotness are about to be had. Brace yourself. Of course, that’s assuming you find octogenarians sexy – and why shouldn’t you?
Yesterday PETA unveiled their newest ad campaign, with none other than Dancing with the Stars’ Cloris Leachman, wearing nothing more than cabbage. With a lettuce garnish running down her middle. Are you hot yet?
Today, amid a flurry of tourists and cameras, PETA unveiled our new “Let Vegetarianism Grow on You” ad in Times Square. In the ad, the always witty Cloris Leachman wears a dress of red cabbage and leaf lettuce. The release follows last week’s publication of the results of the biggest medical study ever to conclude that avoiding meat gives people a better chance of living longer. Who better to illustrate the point than Cloris, a vibrant 82-year-old vegetarian?

The whole point of PETA’s new “Let Vegetarianism Grow on You” is to become a vegetarian bit-by-bit. Which I have to give them credit for, since it’s a sane, rational approach to getting their message out. Something I generally don’t associate with PETA.
Cloris wants you to know that it’s easy to choose vegetarian alternatives. “Start learning about it. It doesn’t have to be all of a sudden or a great huge education, but it’s sort of a little journey that you make all your life.”

And yes, in case you were wondering, Cloris’ dress is entirely edible. I’m fairly upset she didn’t wear it to the official Times Square unveiling. She’s dressed in layers and scarves and what appears to be a man’s slippers – there is nothing edible on her – anywhere! Talk about false advertising. I bet most of the people who showed up were pretty disappointed.
I have to admit, as edible vegetable clothing goes, that is one amazing dress. Actually, it’s a gorgeous dress by any standard – animal, vegetable, or mineral. Whoever designed it is insanely talented. And hey, if you get hungry, it also provides a quick bite without having to stop at McDonalds.

Now that’s well done. Did they get new PR people? lol
Well, maybe she couldn’t wear it because her dress has wilted by now.
I don’t like PETA but thats a fun picture
Stunning dress.
APRIL FOOL!….
…er….
…no? This is real?
Cloris Leachman’ll no doubt provide us with a serious case of old-lady crazy.
That’s fantastic!
No airbrushing there.
Cloris is one amazing lady. And she looks fantastic!
I wish I could look like her at 82. I don’t look that good now and I’m over 30 years younger!
Love Cloris Leachman. That dress is really pretty, oddly enough.
Go Cloris! She is awesome and I love to see that she’s not slowing down at all. That’s fantastic!
That was done tastefully. Amazing dress.
Peta should stick with this campaign instead of putting up nudie starlet pics of women who are called out for wearing fur a year later.
When they featured Khloe Kardashian, that was rock bottom… this ad is interesting and caught my attention.
well played Peta!
Love the er, dress and the lady in it.
That’s SO very Cloris !
Cloris Rocks!
Wow, she looks incredible! Good for her!
very cool.
Man she looks amazing.
That dress would be amazing in silk, wonder if there will be an influx of desingers doing this look.
Nice cabbage roll.
