Star: Tom Brady was ’embarrassed’ that Gisele got plastic surgery in Paris

FFN_Brady_Tom_RM_081015_51820004

We keeping hearing rumors about the state of Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s marriage this week. I think it’s the combination of stories, from Deflategate, to Gisele’s alleged plastic surgery and burqa-wearing in Paris, to Tom Brady’s presence on a private plane with Ben Affleck and his nanny-mistress. It’s been a bad month for Tom and Gisele, basically. Even legit outlets like Entertainment Tonight are running “Tom & Gis are in trouble, but they’re staying quiet” stories. We’re also hearing details like “they’re bickering non-stop lately” and “Gisele stormed out of Tom’s birthday party.” And now this story from Star:

Just one day after the NFL upheld Tom Brady’s four-game suspension for his role in Deflategate, Gisele Bundchen was busted for wearing a burqa to a Parisian plastic surgery clinic.

“When the news broke, Tom was furious,” a source tells Star. “He wasn’t against the surgeries, but he told Gisele that the added scrutiny and embarrassment the incident has caused was the last thing he needs as he tries to restore his image.”

That said, Gisele doesn’t seem to understand her husband’s passion for the pigskin: “She keeps telling him he’s overreacting and to calm down. It’s very tense between those two. I’ve never seen them bicker like this before!”

[From Star Magazine, print edition]

I don’t think Gisele cares that much about American football, but she does care about being with a winner and right now, Tom is not a winner. Of course, Gisele sort of shot herself in the foot with the plastic surgery – can she really claim any kind of moral high ground after denying that she would ever get plastic surgery? And was Tom really okay with her boob job and eye work? So many questions. Questions that will probably never be answered.

  1. SypherMomma says:

If there weren’t two young children involved I would be laughing my ass off about this, they are both so horribly smug….especially her.

    • Tate says:

I am right there with ya, SypherMomma. Although he is pretty stiff competition when it comes to smugness.

    • DIANE says:

The schadenfreude is strong when it comes to these two. I’m guffawing over the fact that she embarrassed HIM. He’s been doing a bang-up job of that on his own. Even if the 4-game suspension is overturned, he’ll forever be a butt of jokes for all football fans who don’t live in New England. When he looks back over his career, though, I’m imagining his biggest regret will be…18-1. Go GIANTS!!!

      • Starrywonder says:

Yeah I think it’s pretty funny that everyone was like the golden couple of football and now all of the yeah we never really cared for them is coming out from other people. I think the Super Bowl rings thing with the nanny took the cake. Even if everyone else was doing it, the thought is you let a home wrecking mess touch your stuff Tom Brady.

      • phlyfiremama says:

Perfectly stated Diane! My sentiments exactly~~

    • jane says:

Maybe she got that snout of a nose fixed. dislike her and her smugness. Haven’t liked them at all since they built that monstrosity of a house in Calif and flaunted it when so many people are starving. Their money, they can do what they want with it BUT, shows a shallowness that most people can’t comprehend

      • LeAnn Stinks says:

        Jane,

That is the same nose “enhancement” she had from years ago. But, yet claims she is all “natural.”

Also, I couldn’t agree more with your comments and those of SypherMomma and Diane.

  2. BeBeA says:

Really…. her surgery. … that’s what broke the camels back…. not you doing….
I can’t even continue. Rolling my eyes so hard that I can’t type.

    • Mia V. says:

It’s always the woman fault. Ben cheatted on Jen cause she was so mean, Tom is mad at Giselle cause she got new boobs, never mind the shitty stuff they do, blame the lady.

    • Palar says:

Is Tom just laying some ground work in case it comes out a side piece of his was on that plane too???

    • smith says:

And have you SEEN the surgery? I can’t speak about (or for) her breasts but her eyes look ridiculous. She certainly isn’t an advertisement for the wonderful work of the Parisian doctor (she went all the way there and through hoops/burqas to have it done, you’d think he or she would be THE BEST of the best!)

I guess they’ll “relax” a little after awhile but for a woman not known for her facial beauty she should really be careful about messing with “things.”

    • Susannah says:

I really don’t understand why she didn’t go home quietly to Brazil for the operations. The best plastic surgeons in the world are supposedly there (viz. Tom Cruise) and she could have billed the trip as a family visit.

      • Mia V. says:

        She’s dumb.

      • french fries says:

SHE is dumb? You believe everything you read!
Do you know something about that clinic? No, and you don’t want to know anything about that clinic because you are “intelligent” and you want to believe it’s true.

  3. Birdix says:

Cute photo with them at the beach. If mr birdix and I got our kids on our shoulders like that, I can picture them wrestling rather than kissing: “No, I wanted to be on Mama’s shoulders!”, then someone would get kicked in the nose, in short it’d be nothing like that. But sweet for them.

    • doofus says:

it IS a really cute pic.

that being said, I totally believe they’re bickering because they’re both probably stressed out, but I REALLY don’t think that “bickering” = splitting.

I think this is the kind of couple that truly weathers the storm together and comes out stronger. but hey, I’ve been wrong before.

ETA: Birdix, your family’s potential scenario cracked me up!

      • Lesley says:

Completely agree- they are pretty solid, just going through a rough patch. They’ll be fine. I think these are 2 that love and are dedicated to each other

  4. Jess says:

He looks awful lately, not sure what it is, his face has this constant stupid expression. I’m glad she got busted, she needed her ass handed to her and a bit of humility, she just better not deny having surgery!

    • Jen43 says:

After those comments yesterday –thanks everyone– I can’t unsee the ugly. And Super Smug Mother, put some rash guards on those babies. The sun is harmful!

    • I think the really short hair doesn’t work for Tom. He is a handsome man! His brow line looks very heavy. Maybe he had a small amount of botox in the “11’s” and it dropped the brow line? I have always thought Ben had a few rounds of botox in his forehead. We know he had his teeth fixed.

As far as Giselle, I think she is smug and very manly looking. She comes off as a know it all and that usually makes people unlikeable, right or wrong.

      Go Bears!

      • Kitten says:

        Hey I love your name!

Yeah the short haircut isn’t working for him at all. I said before that I go either way with Brady. Sometimes I think he’s handsome, sometimes not at all.

I like this pic of him:

        https://instagram.com/p/3ESWEgHtJJ/?taken-by=gisele

      • teacakes says:

Gisele is not a traditional beauty and pretty much has no waist, but makes an absolutely mesmerising model because of her bone structure and body language. In a way, Karlie Kloss reminds me of her – not a stunning beauty, but versatile and very comfortable in front of a camera.

    • LeAnn Stinks says:

      I agree Jess,

Those pictures are not flattering to Mr. Brady. He is looking a bit Neanderthalish and I usually think he can look handsome despite the fact that I am in not a fan of him, his team or his coach.

He looks almost as bad as that court artists’ rendering of him.

  5. Ann says:

Does anyone else think that Bradey has Frankenstein face?

    • Starrywonder says:

      Now I do lol.

    • DodieTn says:

Omg. I just thought that and then seen your comment. When did he get so unattractive?

      • bella says:

        funny…
i think brady is one of the most gorgeous men i’ve ever seen.
        perfection.

beauty must be in the eye of the beholder, no?

      • doofus says:

yes, bella, it is in the eye of the beholder.

which is why I always laugh when I see a poster declare, like it’s established scientific fact, that “so-and-so is ugly”.

even funnier when someone says “he is SO hot” and you get an angry, “NO, he is UGLY, and everyone knows it”.

with Brady, though, for me, he’s a “two-face” as so many have said. I go back and forth between “he is so hot” and “looks like a caveman”

my go-to for hotness is my secret boyfriend, Henry Rollins, but I know so many people are like “ew, he’s funny looking”.

      • Esmom says:

Ooh, doofus, who knew? Henry Rollins has always been hot, no “two face” whatsoever. imho. 🙂

      • bella says:

        doofus
i had to google henry…i wasn’t familiar with the name, but now that i see him, i know that i’ve seen him before.
more power to you if he is your guy!

beauty IS in the eye of the beholder, because i’m not feeling it with him.

but the point is what you make and i had said…attractiveness is subjective…no right, no wrong.

        for me?
my forever most gorgeous man who ever lived…
        jfk jr.

      • doofus says:

Esmom, don’t be touching my secret BF! his younger self was always physically hot to me (had the good fortune to see him with the Rollins Band back in ’92…that body…! *DROOL*) but his humor/intelligence etc has made him that much hotter.

when his voice comes on for the Infiniti ads…!

bella, jfk jr. was TOTALLY hot, absolutely. I don’t think you’d get any argument from ANYONE on that fella…

      • Esmom says:

doofus, no worries, while I think he’s hot he’s still all yours. 🙂 My secret boyfriend shall remain nameless in the MLB.

    • Crumpet says:

Suddenly, I’m thinking the court artist got it right! He does look like Frankenstein/zombie-ish.

      • bella says:

        come on ladies…

        with all due respect…
brady may not be your hotness, but calling him frankenstein is cruel, no?

but if that’s what you think, i won’t begrudge you.

        i think he’s VERY handsome.
but every female bostonian thinks so…or nearly every one of us to be fair.

    • lucy2 says:

Yes – sometimes I think he looks handsome in a cute way, and other times it’s full on Frankenstein.

  6. Starrywonder says:

She wouldn’t be getting crapped on if she hadn’t been all I am super authentic and wake up looking flawless all of the time. She got caught having plastic surgery, nough said.

And yeah I can see her not wanting Tom to keep dragging the deflategate thing out. It would be easier to just take the punishment and be done with it. Keeping it in the media and then the memes from the sketches all of a sudden Tom Brady is a joke and yeah I bet she and he hate that.

FYI the memes are the best thing ever. I love the one from the Take on Video. I clicked that gif like 20 times yesterday and cackled each time.

    • Kitten says:

Nah, Gisele wants Brady to fight it.
But I do know 31 other teams that would LOVE it if Brady missed four games.

      Not gonna happen though.

      • Starrywonder says:

Yeah he’s missing four games if he doesn’t admit to wrong doing which he won’t do. NFL isn’t going to budge and the Judge has no reason to set aside anything that was decided upon. If Brady doesn’t admit to wrong doing there’s no point to any settlement.

      • Kitten says:

The NFL doesn’t have control of this situation anymore–the outcome is entirely in Judge Berman’s hands. Berman can either confirm the arbitration award or he can vacate it.
Seeing how hard Berman went on the NFL during the first meeting I think (hope) he’ll eventually vacate it.

In the meantime, I think they’ll suspend any award that was issued until they reach a settlement, which means Brady doesn’t miss the first four games. In fact, I expect him to be suiting up for the first game against the Steelers Sept 10th.

      • Kitten says:

Also, maybe I should shut up, in case I’m jinxing it 😉

      • Starrywonder says:

        @Kitten don’t jink it 😉

    • Jan says:

Starrywonder, I agree with you but also her stupidity by drawing attention to herself while wearing a burqa in a country where it’s forbidden. She doesn’t seem to be the brightest.

    • Starrywonder says:

@Jan yeah I mean it was bad enough to be all I would never have plastic surgery. But to go to a country that forbids the burqua and you wear it. Yeah it was kind of spitting in the face of Muslim women who are not allowed to wear it as well.

    • LeAnn Stinks says:

Well said, her lying smugness got her in the pickle she is in, and yes, wearing that Burqua, was beyond idiotic. But, she is so arrogant, I am sure she didn’t even consider the ramifications.

  7. GingerCrunch says:

    “Tom & Gis”? That’s awful.

  8. Talie says:

Little did he know that Ben Affleck’s nanny would actually be the thing that made things worse for him.

  9. Luca76 says:

The whole Nanny on the plane issue reminds me of Goodfellas, One night of the week they take out the wives the next they take out their mistresses. I dont think the nanny was the only side piece on the plane.

    • Jen43 says:

I am embarrassed to say my mind went to bl**jobs immediately.

    • doofus says:

oh, I thought about that bit from Goodfellas, too!

    • Palar says:

      I think the same thing.

    • Talie says:

My first thought too. That was a sex plane.

    • MrsBPitt says:

That is rediculous….There could have been twenty other people on board the plane! Probably, Brady didn’t even know that this chick was Ben’s “other woman” It’s not like he would introduce her that way. Jesus Christ, go work for Star Magazine, will you…..You are great at making shit up out of thin air!

      • Luca76 says:

It’s the way dogs work. They run in packs and they cheat in packs, and they cover for eachother. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas isn’t just about blackjack.

  10. Kiddo says:

    And it begins….

    • Nicolette says:

And somewhere Bridget Moynahan is sitting with a her feet up munching on a bowl of popcorn waiting for the spectacle to unfold.

      • Kiddo says:

heh-heh. (Although I had to look up the reference.)

      • teacakes says:

talk about tired and cliched, not to mention contrary to all the evidence that Bridget and the Brady-Bundchens actually get on very well.

    • Kiddo says:

@teacakes,I thought it was just a joke (?)

      • Nicolette says:

Thanks Kiddo. Was just trying to be light hearted.

      • teacakes says:

@Kiddo – sure, it’s “just a joke” when it’s about celebrities people actively dislike, but imagine the CB commenter reaction to someone saying this about the Jolie-Pitts/Aniston situation.

  11. kri says:

LOL. I’m sure he doesn’t mind the work, just the way she went about getting it. In the meantime, he’s jetting around with known f*ckboy Affleck, allowing The Nanny to wear his Superbowl rings and god only knows what else. I am quite sure that G knows he is around beautiful, willing women all the time, and she has to compete. no matter how beautiful she is. It’s the way wealthy , famous men are. Always has been.Call me cynical or whatever you want, but I’m sure that those two are not happily humping.

  12. Heroin says:

    Sounds credible tbh. pft.

  13. Kitten says:

Tom and Gisele always look so happy together. Such a cute family.

He came out to a standing ovation at the pre-season opener last night. I was there! Too many beers but it was worth it to see Brady and the Pats play.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

They always seemed super strong to me. I didn’t like her comment about how she told her sisters that they don’t look the way she does because they don’t put in the work, but I like them together and I hope these rumors aren’t true.

    • Lara K says:

To me they always looked more in love with the concept of them as a couple than with each other as people. But I also think that’s just how they are.
Honestly I doubt they would find anyone better suited.

    • teacakes says:

I had no idea who he was before she started dating him, but they do seem genuinely affectionate towards each other – they’ve never looked like the Garner-Afflecks (barely hanging in there for the kids and not mutually into each other) in any of the pics I’ve ever seen of them. But I do think their being together given their respective professions and positions does cause a lot of people to resent them, that’s not surprising. Plus Gisele would make a lousy diplomat, ha.

Good wishes to the Patriots (I take it you are a supporter, Kitten?) Being a sports fan is way more stressful than any episode of Game of Thrones sometimes.

      • Kitten says:

        Thank you, Teacakes!
Yes I often feel like I’m on a lonely island being one of a few Patriots fans around here.

“Being a sports fan is way more stressful than any episode of Game of Thrones sometimes.”

I’m totally stealing this! So very true.

      • teacakes says:

Kitten, honestly I don’t know much about American football so have no idea how Tom’s team is seen by the public/sports fans, but 10+ years of supporting Real Madrid in the OTHER football has taught me a lot about how it is when your club is resented.

(we also had sort of our own Tom-Gisele situation when our former captain and golden boy hooked up with a stunningly gorgeous TV presenter and fans and media proceeded to do everything they could to smear her, but it was ridiculously tame and afaik they are still together – I speak of Iker Casillas and Sara Carbonero, that is).

      • Cricket says:

afaik, Iker and Sara are still together and have a beautiful baby boy called Martin.

I think there could be many similar qualities of both coaches, their reputations, etc.. Personally, I think Mourinho ruined Ikers confidence and his career. I was so hoping he would come here and play in NYC with Villa 🙂

      • doofus says:

“Yes I often feel like I’m on a lonely island being one of a few Patriots fans around here.”

aw, kitten…as a Mets and Giants fan, I have to say…I’m a fan of Boston sports teams, too. 😉

      • teacakes says:

@Cricket – he really hasn’t been the same since his major injury, but Iker was still our boy to the core, and I admit to shedding tears when he finally left for Porto.

I always hoped he would be a Madridista for life, and it’s going to be SO STRANGE to see the club without him even on the sidelines. I really hope he does well for Porto, as a goalkeeper he’s already one of the legends of our time but it would be nice if he could finish his playing years in a fulfilling manner and have a happy family life (my brain still refuses to accept the sight of him in another club’s shirt, but change is coming……I don’t want to accept it but there’s a very real possibility of losing Sergio Ramos too)

      • Kitten says:

I’d be a Real Madrid fan if I followed soccer (I know I know “football!”) as much as I want to. 🙂

The last time I followed it (and even then it was sporadically) was when Zizou played.
I named my cat after him and my French cousins accused me of being sacrilegious. lol

        @Doofus-You’re the best 🙂

      • teacakes says:

ah, Zizou. I loved him to death, all the way up to that headbutt in 2006 (and cried again once I realised it meant the red card and France losing the World Cup). I can’t believe it’s almost ten years since that……and being a fan of his was a pretty hard lesson in accepting that your faves are not always perfect, especially under performance conditions and high stress situations.

But it makes a really cool cat name, you had good taste! And he’s aging very well too, btw – human Zizou, I mean, not your cat.

      • Kitten says:

That game was so heart-breaking to watch, and you’re right about it being a reminder to not put athletes on pedestals.
I remember we went to a bar to watch the ’06 World Cup and there were only four of us with French flags and colors, EVERYONE else was wearing Italian colors. In fact, all of Boston was wearing Italian colors. lol

Yeah Zidane is such a handsome fella. I heard he’s a manager now?

      • LeAnn Stinks says:

        Doofus,

As a fellow Giants fans, I never used to dislike the Pats either, especially since we beat them twice in the Super Bowl. 🙂

What changed my mind was all the shenanigans that kept suspiciously piling up on top of each other. Also, even though I am not a Jets fan, but still a New Yorker, I felt bad for how Bellicheat treated that organization. What he did was unprofessional and tacky. I cannot blame the Jets fans, one bit, for hating him.

Finally, I have said this before, but bears repeating. I love the city of Boston and all of it’s charm. Just because I don’t care for the Pats, doesn’t mean I don’t like the entire state of Massachusetts or its residents.

      • Cricket says:

Teacakes Kitten… i can’t believe I wasn’t part of this back and forth.. I adore Iker Casillas! I named my dog after him! LOL! This was before they won the world cup but same year so I always know how old he is 🙂 I loved Spain during the WC run and win. I started watching futbol during the WC and was introduced to Zidane. What a bad ass an great player! Watching the beautiful game at its best is imho way better than any US football game. I’m partial to Spain and was to Real Madrid. They treated Iker like shit, he was a kid raised up through their program a home kid from Madrid and they booed him! the fans actually booed him, it made me so sad. After RM let him go to Porto I stopped following RM and have taken my support elsewhere. I really hope De Gea doesn’t end up in RM and they all get screwed.

Zidane is part of the management team for RM. I’ve seen videos of Iker and Becks when Becks was with RM and they seemed to really get along and was so hoping he might come play in MLS but completely understand he isn’t ready for the retirement league. lol

      • teacakes says:

@Kitten – same situation here! Being one of the minority that supported France for that final, that is. I still remember the moment of the headbutt, because he just trotted up to Materazzi so leisurely (it looked that way on the projector) and then gave him what looked like a little tap on the chest with his head! I remember giggling because it looked funny, before realising just what had happened. Ugh. That game still hurts to think about.

@Cricket – I have secretly wanted to name a cat Iker for the longest time but unlike you and Kitten, I was far too chicken to face the inevitable ribbing I would have got for making my hero worship/crush so obvious ;). Zizou brought me into the Real Madrid fold, but I’ve always had a soft spot for goalkeepers ever since Fabien Barthez. And when Iker basically became the god of penalties, I was beside myself – I freely admit it, I was a teenager and had a massive crush on him for the longest time.

But goodness, supporting Spain could be a trial at times. My friends used to say they were to football what South Africa was to cricket in the 90s – hugely talented but always ‘choked’ under pressure. But once they got over that block, they were unstoppable for a while there. I do think they should have handled the transitions of players out of the team/infusions of fresh blood better for 2014 (I love Fernando Torres and his post-Liverpool slump makes me hurt, but he should not have been on that plane to Brazil last year), but even with that, La Roja 2008-2012 deserves to go down as one of the greatest national teams of all time. And I will always be proud of my boy Iker for being such a good captain to his team.

As for his departure, in hindsight the club management has treated so many of its longtime players like shit right before they left. I saw it happen to Raul and Guti, but to see it happen to Iker – San Iker, for goodness’ sake – is rough. And now they’re smearing Sergio Ramos in the press because of a potential transfer…..I’m just really disappointed in the club lately. And I won’t blame De Gea for peacing out, even if that leaves the goalkeeping situation sticky.

      • teacakes says:

and Cricket, you were most definitely part of this exchange! I remember leaving a comment for you in response to what you said about Mou and Iker….no idea if it’s showing up for everyone else.

      • Cricket says:

Teacakes.. I just meant that I zoned out and didn’t come back to review comments to jump in right away… I could talk Spain futbol all day! I fell in love with that team and particularly Iker bc like you I like goal keepers for some reason. But my all time favorite part of their WC win was the awesome – out of the blue – Puyol header to score the only goal against Germany. That was awesome! We call him Captain Caveman and adored him as well. I’m hoping he may play here in US as I’ve read he is learning English and working on getting his knee fit. It would be great to see these guys play in the US. Not sure if anyone saw it but when Didier Drogba arrived in Montreal he was overwhelmed with his reception.
I was a Torres fan too.. El Nino and his songs when he came to Liverpool were awesome — along with Pepe Reina (Pintame singing on the plane home, wow to be on that plane!). Was just such a great team that played as a team not selfish play.. loved it.

      • teacakes says:

@Cricket – lol, Puyi and his semifinal header…..doubly unexpected since one does not expect defenders to score goals!

Though my favourite part of that game was afterwards, when Queen Sofia went to greet them in the locker room after the win. It was the cutest, Puyi in his towel shaking her hand and all the team trying to shove stray bottles and socks out of sight like their mother came to visit or something.

and yeah, they were a great team. The goals were economical but their play could be beautiful, they had the teamwork down (I was especially fond of the Villa-Torres bromance) and they genuinely seemed to put egos and rival club loyalty issues aside for the country. I hope they get back to those heights as a different team, the Spanish youth system seems to do a good job with them. There’s plenty more where they came from!

      • Genny says:

@Cricket : I LOVE PUYOL. 2010 WC made me a true believer for Spain. Last year hurt me emotionally. That said, I’m a Barca fan haha. Though I don’t hate Madrid as much as others do.

    • Audrey says:

Yeah I think they’re okay. Just the press building things up. They seem to genuinely adore each other, they’re just dealing with lots of bad press at the moment. I really don’t get the out of nowhere theories that Affleck’s nanny being on the plane means Brady had a mistress there too lol. Nor do I think Brady seems smug

Gosh it’s hard to be a Brady supporter on this site. Happy to have you around cause some of these comments are pretty brutal!

      • Kitten says:

I feel the same way…nice to have you on this lonely island 🙂

When people say that he looks smug it blows my mind. He’s the opposite of that. This is the guy that took a pay cut so that his team would be better, you know? He’s such a humble, soft-spoken and relaxed Cali guy.

It just goes to show you how varying public perception can be.

I also think it’s funny how everyone is so focused on Brady being on that plane with the nanny but nobody talks about the fact that he was going to a CHARITY event.

        Oh well.

      • Cricket says:

        Hey Kitten!

Being from Philly…yeah, I know snowballs at Santa… I think Brady is just criticized bc he is consistently good and perceived as a good guy-pre deflate balls. I know from reading CB that I was totally wrong in my perception of futbol Ronaldo vs. Messi. I thought Ronaldo was smug and all that and the gals here set me straight during WC chatting. I thought Messi was the stand up, nice guy, good sportsman who is liked and kind and charitable…

      • teacakes says:

@Cricket – yeah, I’m not a huge Cristiano fan or anything but I think he catches too much shit for his image. Goes to show how wrong snap judgements can be……and I do respect that he has kept his son in his life but well protected from the media especially with the huge interest around the child.

      • Kitten says:

        Hi Cricket!

        RE: Ronaldo
Yeah I wonder if sometimes that false perception of Ronald/Brady and athletes like them stems form the fact that they’re good-looking (although judging by the comments about Brady here, this is arguable lol), talented and the general public mainly sees them when they’re playing on the field.

Great athletes tend to get really fired up and take on a different persona when they’re playing. I think Tom Brady can be guilty of being tantrum-y when he’s playing football. I get how people would dislike him for that and also form an idea about what type of a person he is based on that behavior. But if you watch him in the post-game press conferences, he has this soft voice and is constantly giving credit to every other player and the team over himself. He comes across as anything but arrogant.

In other words, you have to see him off the field to get a sense of his personality.

I could see the same with Christiano Ronaldo. Good-looking guy, passionate player, and talented. I think people inherently hate that combination and are quick to think “smug” when really it’s their own envy being projected onto that athlete.

        I don’t know…

      • teacakes says:

@Kitten – you have a point about great athletes tending to get a bit extra during games – Zizou was one (getting red carded off his very last professional match), CR7 is another (though he seems to get more criticism for diving to try and earn penalties off any contact with the other side’s players), and I think Sergio Ramos has a record number of red cards lol. Even Becks had the odd temper tantrum on the pitch and got carded for it, famously during the World Cup ’98. And now you report that Brady is one of those in American football…..it actually makes sense, in a weird way.

But on the other hand you do get great athletes who seem to keep remarkably cool heads and stay relatively well-behaved during a game, it just depends on everyone’s playing temperament I guess.

    • MrsBPitt says:

You went to the game last night, Kiddo…I’m sooooo jealous!!! I would have loved to be there for that standing O for Tommy!!!!!!!

  14. me says:

this is very sad considered there is 2 young kids involved but yes unless they have another child i don’t see them passing next year, i really hope im wrong, they fought really hard to be where they are today, everything was against them at the beginning of their relationship and tom seemed to be crazy about gisele, anyway once again i hope im wrong

  15. Christin says:

They may just be having a rough patch. Yet this post makes a good point about ‘winners’.

They got together when they were near the top of their respective careers, all young and carefree. Life has a lot of bumps and changes for everyone, and not everyone handles them the same. That includes aging bodies (for both of them).

Time will tell. But I am always suspect of couples who portray perfection.

    • Kiddo says:

It’s a redux of the high school football star and the popular pretty homecoming queen cheerleader trope.

      • mer1 says:

so true. I could not quite put my finger on it – and yet it is right there. thank you! but also just wanting everyone to believe it is all perfect for them. (I read that they built this supposedly eco friendly house outside boston by chopping down many trees and upsetting their neighbors! ever since that, they were never on my radar before, but they are a bit much to me.)

  16. PHD gossip says:

If Tom had a side piece in the plane, it WILL come out (that may be the information the Nanny is lording over Ben/Tom). Tom may be footing her expenses to keep her mouth shut about Tom’s side piece.
If Tom had a side piece on the plane, the Enquirer would pay Nanny $1M for the photo, no?

  17. Kitten says:

LOL This stuff about Tom having a side-piece on the plane just because Ben had the nanny there is hilarious to me.

It’s like a creative writing contest. No actual proof or substance needed…sort of reminds me of Deflategate actually.

    • bluhare says:

      Yet deflategate happened.

      • Audrey says:

Have you kept up on it? Cause more and more NFL lies are being exposed to show just how badly they screwed up. More and more obvious that this was all blown up by the NFL even though nothing happened.

Biggest issue? No NFL officials knew that temperature impacts pressure. We wouldn’t be here if anyone knew that.

TOK-did you see that a Colts executive is the son of a senior advisor to Troy Vincent? Colts brag about it a bit on their site. Story on profootballtalk

      • Kitten says:

@Audrey-No, I hadn’t seen that! Holy sh*t. This just keeps getting sketchier and sketchier.
Sigh. I feel for Brady so much, man.

        @Bluhare-

Deflategate happened. Deflategate is still happening actually.

Deflategate being one long campaign waged by Goodell to regain a better public image after the NFL repeatedly stumbled and looked like incompetent knuckleheads with their handling of the Ray Rice issue and Adrian P.’s penchant for child abuse.
Knowing how loathed Brady and the Pats are outside of New England, Goodell and the other 31 owners decided that Brady would be the perfect sacrificial lamb for the “good of the League”.

Penalize Brady to the highest degree within the system with the unspoken objective of demonstrating to football fans and the public at large that the NFL are capable and willing to punish anyone, including the guy that the media coined the NFL’s “golden boy”.

Goodell and Wells: don’t worry about proof or evidence–we’ll figure that out later. Cherry-pick some texts out of context, feed some false info about the PSI levels to ESPN, make sure the public knows that Brady destroyed his cell phone (even though we said he wouldn’t be penalized for that) and continue to publicly smear Brady. Pay a lawyer $3 million to do an “independent investigation” and then edit that report after the fact.

      • doofus says:

“No NFL officials knew that temperature impacts pressure.”

WHAT?! are you KIDDING? good lord, any person who’s ever held anything inflatable in cold weather should know that. sh*t, even your CAR TIRES are affected by the cold.

        embarrassing.

      • Cricket says:

I never knew each team had their own balls.. I thought it was like tennis, used same balls unless deemed unfit. Who knew?

      • Audrey says:

QBs like to treat the surface of the balls and each QB likes it different so they use their own. Kinda like how each tennis player uses their own racket i suppose.

And yeah, balls had never been tested at halftime/after a game before. Or during a game at all. So the NFL figured pressure drop meant they were definitely tampered with, an NFL guy even told the equipment guy, “we weighed the balls, you’re in big f’ing trouble” right after. None of them thought that about temperature impact at all.

That’s the NFLs excuse though…I’m not super convinced though cause the Colts balls dropped too and nothing was thought of it or investigated.

      • Kitten says:

@Doofus-Troy Vincent of the NFL admitted during Brady’s appeal hearing that he didn’t know what the freakin Ideal Gas Law is.

        http://larrybrownsports.com/football/troy-vincent-did-not-know-balls-could-deflate-naturally/269463

This site is also pretty informative re deflategate:

        http://www.deflategatefacts.com/#home-section

    • Kiddo says:

People are just speculating. It’s not implausible that an alpha male football player would have some extra on the side, even with a gorgeous wife in the wings. It’s about ego and ‘strange without baggage’, and less to do with looks, and can have nothing to do with the state of a marriage. The Affleck guilt by association thing plays into it as well. He’s radioactive as a bro buddy for wives, these days, I would imagine. If nothing else, he acquiesced to allowing Ben’s side piece to wear his rings and he had to know something was weird about bringing a nanny sans children. But it doesn’t make him guilty of adultery. It just is never out of the question with sports heroes.

      • Thick of it says:

I think that people who have an affair have a certain body language in privacy that tells. I mean the wife wasn’t present and it was a fun trip to Las Vegas so I bet Affleck and the nanny did take it easy with the body language. Kiss Hug Grope. So Brady should have seen that something was a bit off …
Oh and Affleck has a bit of a reputation as a player, doesn’t he? Somebody wrote that Matt Damon hasn’t been seen with Affleck for a while and one may wonder why. So why was Brady with Affleck?

    • MrsBPitt says:

This is exactly what I said upthread! Tom Probably didn’t even know she was Brady’s sidepiece…there were probably 20 other people on that plane. Some of these posters should be working for Star Magazine. They are great at making things up out of thin air!

      • Kitten says:

He’s Public Enemy Number One right now. They’re so desperate for dirt on this guy that they’ve resorted to making sh*t up.

      • Kiddo says:

Whoa, let’s not move into conspiracy theories here, it will become the next triangle of doom situation. I knew nothing about him except what I’ve read here, which is very little, never heard of him before, don’t like football, know nothing about his wife other than that she was a model who dated Leo, I think? Now I know he is a football player because of deflategate, but I don’t care.

Inevitably, people would be speculating about the rings, and the nanny, what he knew, because it’s such a pervasive gossip story on Ben Affleck. People ALWAYS talk about celebrities who lie about getting plastic surgery, that’s par for the course. Not everyone has a horse in the race, other than that he’s tied into Affleck.

*Backing out and never returning to these threads*

      • Kitten says:

        What? Where’s the conspiracy theory?

Ok Magazine is far from a reputable periodical. Like most low-level gossip rags, they have a tendency to print lies in order to sell copies. Brady is a hot target right now and tabs like OK! are taking advantage of that, striking while the iron’s hot and the public interest is high.

        *shrugs*

      • Kiddo says:

In this conversation, You and MrsBPitt talked about commenters. One comment was that because commenters were considering the concept of Bradey potentially knowing what Affleck was up to, that made them potential writers for Star Magazine. But we all speculate one way or another about all of these celebs, because none of us know what is really going on in their lives, or who they really are. And he could have known or suspected something, been involved in something, or not. Not all of the commenters have it out for him. Sometimes you just go by what has happened with other people in the past, or what looks really bad on the surface, KWIM? Not everyone is a hater who has it out for him.

The rag magazines, themselves, always have couples breaking up or fighting. It’s the couple split de jour, when there is nothing else to report on, or if they want to drag a storyline out.

It’s likely the story has more to do with the plastic surgery story (since supposedly she said she would never do it) and the nanny ring pic, as a current point of interest, tagging onto Affleck than anyone thinking he is enemy number one and wanting to take him down.

That’s all. Now that I’ve answered and I will show myself out, this time for good.

      • Kitten says:

I thought you were “never to return?”
        Couldn’t resist, huh? 😉

I think we’re talking about two different things. I just meant that OK! is selling a story that Brady and Giselle are divorcing because Brady is clickbait right now.
The reason they give for this speculation is: “Giselle is posting a lot on social media.” It’s very Amateur Hour. But who knows…I didn’t think Ben and Jen were divorcing either so meh.

As far as the comments go, I find it amusing more than anything else that people automatically assume Brady cheated because he was on the plane going to a charity event with Ben Affleck and the nanny. It’s just bizarre to me how people speculate without any substantive proof at all. No need to connect any dots, just go from point A to point M to point T or whatever. I think the same thing about any celeb where people go overboard with the theories. I just happen to be more vocal about the eccentric OTT gossiping when it comes to Brady because yeah, I’m a fan.

RE: “haters” we all know that if it was Matt Damon on that plane or Mark Ruffalo or any other beloved celeb, there would be no rumors about them cheating and they’d be given the benefit of the doubt. In fact, they’d probably be applauded for doing a charity event. Despite how I might be coming across, I’m really not butt-hurt about it. I’m more amused than anything as I understand that this is how celeb gossip works. When someone is disliked, people are quick to assume the worst about their character, no actual proof needed.

      • Kiddo says:

I disagree. If Damon were on that plane, he would, for certain, know what Affleck was up to and it would make me question his involvement as well.
I have no opinion on Ruffalo, one way or another, I don’t know much about him, and I don’t really see him as “beloved”. He’s kind of a plain guy and not a Adonis character, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t haven’t have aspiring star f-ckers, so I would consider it possible. Again, you are assuming that people who leave open the possibility that a star athlete might know what was going, or even partake in something, must be haters. But that’s not true. It has more to do with the handsome alpha sports star phenomenon and the history of sexual escapades within that group than anyone actively seeking some kind of demise.
No one is saying definitively that anything happened, they are just sating it’s a possibility. But what did happened was that Affleck took his side piece on this trip and was comfortable enough doing that in front of Brady.

Oh for crissakes, honestly, I am stupid, because I am commenting again and I really don’t care about him or is his wife. They do nothing that interests me. Not into football, and as far as I know, she doesn’t really do anything, maybe still model, I don’t even know. I’m digging a Miles Teller collection of comments again.

  18. Jas says:

Two incredibly narcissistic people, they’re perfect together. They’re both very embarrassed she got caught; her because it shows how fake, vain and unnatural she is, him because everyone knows he’s married to a woman who has plastic surgery. He’s possibly also concerned about what she’s going to look like when she takes it too far and starts looking like an alien.

  19. CidySmiley says:

Well, I don’t know. I don’t think bickering means that they’re splitting. I bicker with mine all the time and it really only makes us stronger. They are probably going through a rough patch though, all the stress and media attention.

I wish that I could feel worse for Gisele but her high and mighty horse kind of keeps me wary. She came out with that “all women should breastfeed” nonsense when I was having a really hard time with my newborn and ever since I can’t shake my disdane. Tom always seemed a little plastic-y, to me but I think that was him just trying to uphold his image.

    • SypherMomma says:

I feel for you, so many of my friends have struggled with breast feeding. I have seen many of them crying because they feel like they’ve failed their child. So much pressure!

Her comments (and other celeb/mafia mommy types) really rubbed me the wrong way as well.

    • Tate says:

The judgey mommy club drove me nuts when my kids were little. They need a heavy dose of STFU.

    • BS Magazine says:

She didn’t say all women should breastfeed. She knows some women can’t breastfeed and her comment wasn’t about those women.

  20. Zan says:

While I get that “Deflategate” w/resulting suspension–as it stands now–is not good for Tom at the moment, the idea that he isn’t a “winner” is pretty hilarious. The Pats did win the latest Super Bowl, and Brady himself is now in the league of the ultra-elite Hall of Fame QBs. I am no Patriots or Brady fan, but those are the facts.

  21. Cinderella says:

There are men that are happy when everything goes their way, but become monsters when it doesn’t. Tom strikes me as one of those guys.

  22. Crumpet says:

I think their beach photo is absolutely gorgeous. Giselle aught to be humbled by being caught having plastic surgery – I will be interested to see if she makes any more ‘all natural’ statements after this. I hope Tom and the Patriots overcome this stupid deflate gate thing. Thanks to Kitten for providing all the factual information regarding the proceedings and evidence or lack thereof.

    • Kitten says:

As I said above, I would like Gisele so much more if she never opened her mouth. She needs to just stop talking. Forever.

Thanks for the positive wishes about the Patriots, Crumpet.

  23. QQ says:

I’m gonna Need modesty Covers Or Profile Shots On These Brady Posts, Homeboy Still Looks Mad Primitive.. and Confused… impossibly so….all at once, It’s all very hard on my sensitive eyes

  24. Artsygirl says:

I am just curious, how was it confirmed that it was indeed Gisele with a burqa? And if it was indeed her, how did news outlets/blogs confirm that ishe had her eyes and boobs done? I’m not taking their side I just want to read news with facts. I know I saw a picture of someone wearing a black burqa, but I had no idea who it was, so I am curious how they found out.. Anyone knows?

    • Jas says:

They followed her and her sister from the airport to hotel, then both coming out of the hotel in burkas and getting into her car with her personal driver that she has used for years.

    • Bishg says:

I think that Gisele has hired a whole crisis-management team to handle this, but I am quite sure they won’t be able to pull off a deflection. First, her silence speaks volume. To me, this is the biggest and most relevant proof that she is indeed the woman in the burqa. Second, she has gone quite silent on social media (yes, she is still posting pictures, but they’re either throwback or pics where she has her midsection/eye area hidden or they were taken from a relatively long distance: she doesn’t want us to speculate!!) the whole thing has come out in such a terrible period: deflategate, ben’s nanny wearing her husband’s Rings.. I should feel bad for her but I am cackling a bit. Nobody likes someone who is / claims to be a squeaky clean goody-goody! If they play this well, they might actually gain more consenus.

    • Thick of it says:

      @ Artsygirl

The woman under the burqa could have been Gisele: a very slim woman, good posture, shape of the head fits, long slim elegant fingers. And the other woman under the burqa could have been her sister: smaller than Gisele and not quite so slim. And the driver is her long-time driver.

What is so annoying about Gisele is that she doesn’t seem to have any kind of understanding or empathy for women who aren’t as genetically lucky or as lucky in business as she is. Her comments about giving birth seemed to imply all you had to do is to work for it and if you didn’t do it is all your fault. Nope. There are women who can’t work out / do pregnancy or prenatal gymnastics before birth. There are women who can’t afford. There are women who can’t breast feed and there are many reasons why. Gisele just doesn’t seem to accept that. And so on. Gisele is one stuck-up uppity smug stick insect and she demonstrates that very often.

    • BS Magazine says:

I think it’s Gisele, but I don’t know what she was doing there and I bet the tabloids don’t know what she was doing there… Boob job and eye work? Sorry, I don’t believe it…

Thick of it: But she was right. I like her interviews. She knows some women can’t breastfeed. That interview wasn’t about women who can’t breastfeed.

  25. teacakes says:

wow, some people are really happy at the idea that these two might break up……and as for Bridget Moynahan having so-called schadenfreude over all this, I think it’s worth noting two facts:

    1. Bridget and Gisele get on quite well, by all accounts. This is not some Aniston/Jolie crap where they media play against each other, they actually appear to have an active interest in co-parenting the kids and work towards that.

    2. Brady and Moynahan broke up before he knew she was pregnant/before he met Gisele and she has stated there was no cheating, so there goes the “bitch was a homewrecker, now get a taste of your own medicine!” angle

(which is immature anyway. I’ve been cheated on by two exes who are now married, and I would be ashamed to still be so petty as to think that seemingly stable, loving couples deserve to be broken up because of the manner of the end of their relationships with me several years ago…….and that their partners should be made to feel like cr-p for my personal karmic satisfaction or something. That’s just awful, and would make me the awful person for wishing it.).

    2.

    • Kitten says:

Yeah and to add to that: Bridget, Tom and Giselle clearly have a very amicable co-parenting situation. There doesn’t seem to be even a speck of bad blood between them.

      • vauvert says:

Kitten, I usually am with you 100% but I disagree at least partially with this comment. I know you are a Pats/Brady fan and being completely not interested in football this is just gossip to me, but I think that maybe now they get along and things are cordial but I remember multiple instances when G was just mean and obnoxious and Bridget kept trying to put up a good front.
Right after Jack was born they were passing along the baby through nannies because they couldn’t even talk to one another.
And it started when Tom hooked up with G just as Bridget announced her pregnancy. Was there overlap, did G break them up? I have no idea, but during early pregnancy Bridget was talking to the press in a very dignified but obviously hurt way that she was looking forward to the baby but that she had never imagined going through pregnancy alone… same thing right after birth.
Then I recall being furious when G smugly spoke about mothering Bridget’s son as if she were the mom and garnering all sorts of praise for it, meanwhile not a word in the press about the actual mom – that really got on my nerves.
Also, she had a big wedding in Brazil and then, a second Catholic ceremony in NY at Bridget’s church, where Bridget had been worshipping for years and where she used to go with Tom. Sorry but that is just rubbing it in and unnecessarily cruel. Of all the NY churches, you couldn’t pick another??
Anyway, I don’t have a dog in this fight but I cannot stand G; so much hubris! If these two are very much alike then maybe they are a great match indeed. I just hope G gets off her high horse and stops making superior statements.

Can’t say anything about Tom cheating – who knows what he gets up to, but yes rich successful athletes have lots of opportunity to cheat if they are so inclined. However, these two always seemed pretty tight; But let’s be clear, taking your buddy and his mistress along on the plane is not exactly a smart move nor is it a completely innocent scenario – at the very least he is covering for douche-bro Ben. And no, private jets do not have room for twenty in general (maybe if they had the Gulfstream 5 with a very tight interior configuration but I doubt it.) And even in an entourage of 20, you know who the hell is on the plane – I doubt Tom did not know that Ben was bringing along his side piece. Does that mean that Tom had a “friend” along too, or they both got close with the nanny? Anything is possible but I agree that unless we see some pics this is just speculation.

      • Cassie says:

Tom and Gisele never married in New York. Tom and Gisele never had a wedding in Brazil.
Everything about the two weddings are well registered on internet. I have no idea why people make up crazy stuff until today.

I consulted a baby calculator conception date it looks like Tom and Bridget had sex before the official date of their split and before the official date there were already rumours about the end of their relationship.

Bridget was featured in the cover of magazine right after she announced she was pregnant with Tom’s child to the world and in the magazine there is an interview with her.

      • Bridget says:

Tom and Giselle were married in Costa Rica. Not in Brazil or NY.

      • teacakes says:

@vauvert – nice fanfiction there. Maybe you could try for a job at the Star next.

    • Thick of it says:

      @ teacakes

Bridget and Brady’s child was likely fathered when he was dating Gisele. Just do the math and calculate when the little one was fathered.

    • teacakes says:

@Thick – I assume Bridget Moynahan would know better than us just when her son was conceived, and all parties have been clear that Bridget was pregnant when she and Tom split but that he met Gisele only after.

Some people REALLY want him to be a cheater (with the overt implication being that Gisele will be humiliated and it will serve her right, for…..dating her now-husband after he broke up with his ex?) and Bridget to be some bitter ex but so far, nothing supports that. And like I said, people continuing to carp on this is petty when Tom, Gisele and Bridget have all moved on and have had good relations for years.

  26. Bee says:

I think a lot of the rumors about them are fake. They seem really solid to me.

  27. KNick says:

A athlete with a sidepiece, like that doesn’t happen?!! I say most likely it did if he is hanging and endorsing Ben’s, birds of a feather, FLY in private planes together haha.

So yep, I think there is trouble in T&G’s much bragged about paradise. Two egos that HUGE, c’mon, VERY probable!! They are BOTH obsessed (especially her) to appear as the perfect couple, with the perfect life and with their “we are TOP of the the top” in their respective fields….to me, there is NO WAY that they are happy that their perfect was altered. They know WE KNOW now it’s an altered image (must be KILLING her!!). Surgery + Deflate gate + nanny on his jet, all happened within a VERY short time, makes it worse, shines a very negative spotlight on them all at once. If all had happened farther apart, maybe it wouldn’t be so talked about. But the hits keep on coming it seems, their perfect self-created image has been altered in the minds of the public and you can’t do much about that!! For celebs, once a BIG stain gets on you, it’s hard to get the public to not joke/think/talk about it every time they see a pic of you now (specially with G being so disliked, it’s like a bonus for many). Look at Bey and the elevator incident..another celeb who desperately needs the public to think her life is perfection. Yet there will always be a “yeah…but remember the elevator incident?!” whenever she talks about her perfect love now. Same with Gisele. The surgery will follow her modeling career forever now, every pic scrutized and the nannygate on Tom’s PRIVATE jet, will follow their marriage around like stink, for a long, long time and joked about always. Pass the popcorn..couldn’t happen to a more lovely sweet couple…

    • BS Magazine says:

“They know WE KNOW now it’s an altered image.” Actually, they know it’s gossip. They know we know NOTHING about them. But you think you know them because you read GOSSIP magazines… LOL! So naive.
Deflategate? He is innocent. Now everybody knows the truth.

  28. Thick of it says:

Bad timing? Yes. Though I doubt this causes huge stress in the Brady Bundchen family.

  29. Suzanne says:

Wow…an awful lot of comments on here about these two. He got his balls deflated and she got her boobs inflated…who the hell cares? Does any of it really matter? They live a life of the rich and famous. Let them have their issues…like every one else. Who CARES?

  30. CF98 says:

I don’t like either of them to begin with and even I don’t think they’re breaking up. Hitting a bit of a rough patch? Sure but marriages go through ups and downs

Slow news day in the gossip world.
