Tom Hardy and dog make me swoon.

  2. CTgirl says:

I think it’s fine for her to confront Ted Cruz (I don’t like his stance on this either) but isn’t she Canadian? If she is a Canadian citizen without voting rights in the US it becomes just a publicity stunt. Why not ask someone from the US LGBT community to confront him since he’s a candidate looking for votes?

    • InvaderTak says:

Shhhhhh. You’re not supposed to notice that. I don’t like TC either and I generally like Ellen but this isn’t the first time EP has done something like this that just seemed like a stunt. Like when she wanted to film something at a Catholic school and was told no. She went off about it but it was her production and they picked the building and she was willing to pay them for use of it. She didn’t have grand statements about the Catholic Church until she got shot down. So intentions good, but not above a stunt it seems.

      • Illyra says:

The Catholic school thing drove me up the wall. Why would she even ask?

      • InvaderTak says:

IDK. It was really disappointing to me. Catholics’ stance is not a mystery. Was she trying to make a (dumb) subversive statement by using it and was PO’d they wouldn’t play along? She still would have been financially supporting them. I think it was a badly planned stunt. It took some nerve to act offended about that IMO.

    • Lilacflowers says:

Isn’t she a legal resident? She can’t vote but policies do affect her while living here and the questions she was asking were about people denying services/discriminating against gays, which Cruz apparently supports, that could affect anyone, including tourists.

      • lucy2 says:

That’s what I was thinking, she probably pays taxes, lives in the US a majority of the time, and is a legal resident.

It’s funny reading the headlines on a google search of her name, and how the leanings of the media outlet influence it. Some say “Page grills Cruz” or “Page debates Cruz” and others say “Cruz shuts down Page” or “blasts Page”.

      • Lilacflowers says:

What bothered me was Cruz repeatedly handling pieces of meat. It was hot, the meat wasn’t refrigerated, the debate went on for 5 minutes during which he kept picking up pieces of meat, rubbing his hands all over them, then putting them back on a table, not a grill. I was worried that whoever finally ate that meat would suffer food poisoning.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I could barely hear what he was saying because of all the wind noise, but I’m familiar with his position – people shouldn’t have to serve someone if it means going against their religion. So I guess these bakers don’t serve anyone who lies, or commits adultery, or envies their neighbor’s possessions, either.

It doesn’t bother me that she’s not a citizen. I think if you’re running for President of the U.S. you should answer questions from anyone who cares enough to want to know.

ETA -that was gross about the meat

      • doofus says:

“So I guess these bakers don’t serve anyone who lies, or commits adultery, or envies their neighbor’s possessions, either.”

or anyone who eats shellfish or wears mixed fibers. oh, and let’s not forget anyone who doesn’t keep the sabbath holy and actual works on Sunday.

      • Katy says:

That thing about the meat really bothered me too. That makes me sick and I wondered if he then shook someone’s hand or held a baby. YUK!!!

I’m from Texas and frankly I don’t like Cruz. He’s a Tea Party nutcase attracting, judgmental dirt bag. But I want to know why the hell he was BORN in Canada and can still run for President????? I don’t get it and I’m sick of all of the hypocrites that run for office now days!!

      • cr says:

@Katy, Cruz is eligible because his mother is a natural born US citizen, therefore so is he.
        Congressional Research Service
In 2000, the Congressional Research Service (CRS), in one of its reports, wrote most constitutional scholars interpret the natural born citizen clause as to include citizens born outside the United States to parents who are U.S. citizens. This same CRS report also asserts that citizens born in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, are legally defined as “natural born” citizens and are, therefore, also eligible to be elected President.[51]
        Ted Cruz

Ted Cruz (born 1970), a Republican United States Senator from Texas, announced on March 22, 2015, that he was running for the Republican Party’s nomination for president in the 2016 election.[118] Cruz was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada,[119] to a “U.S. citizen mother and a Cuban immigrant father”,[120] giving him dual Canadian-American citizenship.[121] Cruz applied to formally renounce his Canadian citizenship and ceased being a citizen of Canada, on May 14, 2014.[122][123] Professor Chin (see above),[120] former Solicitor General Paul Clement,[124] former Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal,[124] and Professor Peter Spiro of Temple University Law School[125] believe that Cruz meets the constitutional requirements to be eligible for the presidency.[126] Orly Taitz, Larry Klayman, and Mario Apuzzo, who each filed multiple lawsuits challenging Obama’s eligibility, have asserted that Cruz is not eligible.[127][128]

    • meme says:

she’s annoying and I think it’s a stunt for the show she’s doing for Ellen DeGenerees.

    • Narek says:

Ted Cruz is a Canadian. He was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Gay marriage is legal in Canada. Ellen Page is from Nova Scotia.

  3. aims says:

David Beckham makes my heart melt. There’s nothing better then a father who adores his children. Love it.

  4. Lilacflowers says:

My crush on John Oliver is also ruining my life and I don’t know how I’ll get through the next 2 Sunday’s without him

  5. Dawn says:

John Stamos just keeps on getting better and better…truly like a fine bottle of wine! David Beckham and that little Harper is just so sweet. Oh and did I mention John Stamos who just keeps on getting better…!

    • meme says:

I don’t know…there’s something not right about him. Has he even had a girlfriend since whatshername divorced him?

  6. Norman Bates' Mother says:

Why haven’t I watched John Oliver’s show before? I clicked on the Pajiba link and now I know what to do for the rest of the night (yhm*month). He’s awesome.

Re: featured links – these Westboro Baptist Clowns need to be send to some far away asylum. It’s all fun and games until they escalate and become dangerous. So much bigotry and anger…

  7. lola says:

Cool on Ellen. Wish she were an American doing this, but she works here, earns her money here and pays her taxes here.

So she has a massive and righteous say in this election.

    • Magpie says:

And Ted Cruz was born in canada too. So it doesn’t matter. Call the bigots out where ever they are.

  8. Mrs.Krabapple says:

Re: Featured Links on Matt Damon — I like Matt Damon, and I know there are worse things to complain about, but . . . has he no coaster etiquette? The taller members of a party shouldn’t sit in the front seat. Maybe this was their second ride, and the wife got to sit in the front earlier? I can only hope.

    • Kat says:

I assumed he was trying to block the papparazzi’s view of his kids since he knew even a low-key visit to such a populated and famous place would attract media attention.

  9. Pinetree13 says:

    Love john Oliver!

  10. Amy Tennant says:

Some assorted Courtney Stodden duct tape remarks:

I thought at first her outfit looked like a budget Psylocke cosplay, but it turns out that she’s actually wearing less than Psylocke. How does that happen?

Also duct tape outfits have sort of been a thing before. At some cons they have an anything-but-clothes party, where you wear, well, anything but clothes. I’ve seen lots of duct tape ensembles there.

Also, Duck Tape has sponsored (do they still?) a scholarship contest for teenagers who make their prom dresses out of the tape.

I was just wondering about Courtney the other day and that we hadn’t heard from her in a while. It’s almost pumpkin patch season again!

    • Lilacflowers says:

A few years ago, an episode of Project Runway featured prom dresses made out of duct tape.

  11. Tiffany says:

Just read what Daniel Keller, Anna Duggar’s brother, just wrote on FB. I hope its really him and he is not having it.

    • Kiddo says:

      What does it say?

    • Tifygodess24 says:

Yes I read that as well. I hope CB does an article about it tomorrow including his original post and responses. He went at anyone who was essentially defending Josh and im glad he did. Btw Why the hell are their people still defending Josh?! I wonder if her brother left the “religion” and that’s why he is being so vocal. He even called their parents out basically saying they care more about what people would think if Anna got a divorce than the situation at hand.

      • lucy2 says:

I just read it too, and I am assuming he’s left the religion as well. For him to say their parents are only concerned with appearances and the scandal of divorce (as opposed to marrying and staying with a cheating molester), that sounds like someone who has broken away from the cult hive mind. Which gives me a little hope for some of the others stuck growing up in it.

  12. Mitchie says:

When is someone going to hold an intervention for Fallon. He’s completely cringe worthy and difficult to watch. I feel he’s destroyed the legacy of TTS, and is destroying himself, and his excuses are just as silly as his stupid games he makes his guests play. I feel like I’m watching Celebrity Romper Room.
Jimmy….your close friend lost his life due to substance abuse. That alone should cause you to reflect on your choices. If not that, how about your wife and children.

    • Tifygodess24 says:

What? Jimmy Fallon has a (rumored) substance abuse issue? I don’t think I’ve ever heard that. But the accidents could be a hint I guess.

      • Mitchie says:

Triumph the Dog (Robert Smigel), called him out when he was on the show. I guess that’s the closest he’ll get to an intervention.

    • Brittney B says:

I feel dim asking this… but who did Jimmy lose to substance abuse?

  13. LAK says:

    Good for her!

  14. E.M. MAXX says:

Sorry if I offend anyone but she was ridiculous.

  15. Original T.C. says:

Good for Ellen. One Canadian grilling another Canadian. She was able to bring two points about Cruz back in the headlines. He’s hate for LGBT people (the younger Republicans are no longer cool with this) and the fact that he only renounced his Canadian Citizenship leading to his decision to run for the presidency. I bet he used it prior to his benefit in business. Shameless. He and Jed Bush have the most donors heading into the primaries. At the end of the day the person with the most money wins so election will either be Ted Cruz V. Hillary Clinton or Jeb Bush V. Hillary Clinton.

    • Megan says:

The LGBT community gets persecuted by countries we are playing cozy with a sending our American $$ to – I wish she would be more concerned about that.
