Is Joe Manganiello getting ‘cold feet’ about his huge wedding with Sofia Vergara?

Joe 1

In case you’re into meathead beefcakes, here’s the newest cover of Muscle & Fitness. Joe Manganiello went shirtless for the cover, because he’s Matthew McConaughey circa 2004 and no one can get Joe to keep his shirt ON at this point. Seriously, how many shirtless covers has Joe done just in the past two years? Not that I’m complaining necessarily. He has a great body. But when he speaks, I do sort of glaze over – you can read some quotes from his Muscle & Fitness interview here.

Meanwhile, did you know that Joe and Sofia Vergara’s wedding is going full steam ahead? It’s true. The invites were sent out a few weeks ago and Sofia even covers the new issue of Martha Stewart Weddings. The editorial is Sofia trying on wedding dresses. Reportedly, the wedding will be in Palm Beach this November. And Joe is apparently freaking out about it.

Magic Mike XXL star Joe Manganiello is about to have a super-sized meltdown and RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that it has to do with his upcoming wedding to Sofia Vergara.

“Joe is low-key flipping out right now,” a friend of the 38-year-old hunky actor tells Radar. “He said that he does not think he is ready and all of his friends are telling him to calm down and that he is just having a case of the cold feet.”

Manganiello and his 43-year-old Modern Family bride-to-be, who recently celebrated their one year anniversary, are set to marry at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida, at the end of November in front of 300 of the couple’s close friends and family.

“She has made this wedding a huge production with way more guests than he initially wanted,” the source says. “Sofia’s having people fly in from all over the world and two-thirds of the guests that are coming are invited by her. Joe keeps his circle very small.”

Not to worry, though, because the insider tells Radar, “Joe knows that she is just trying to make sure everything is perfect for their big day. It is all just really stressing him out big time.”

[From Radar]

I could see a bruh like Joe getting nervous about the wedding AND the size of the wedding. Seriously, the thought of organizing that kind of huge wedding and flying all of those people into Palm Beach? I just got a knot in my stomach. That would make me want to cancel everything and elope. For what it’s worth, I’ve always sort of believed that Joe and Sofia work as a couple because he got his dream girl and he’s totally fine with whatever she wants. We’ll see.

    Yum. Good Morning.

  2. minx says:

    I think they’re a cute couple.

  3. Lindy79 says:

Man in stressed about wedding getting a bit out of hand shocker.

    • lola says:

Please, who thinks this is a “real” romance, it’s PR crap. It’s no more real than Aniston and wee willy gigolo.
But, all wannabes just have to make fools of themselves.

  4. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I think so many women refuse to consider what the man wants from the wedding. It’s “her” day. I think he’s right to be nervous. She sounds very selfish, and if she doesn’t care what he wants for his own wedding…good luck with that.

      I agree with you.

A coworker got married last year. Three days before the wedding the groom freaked, thinking he wanted out. We all told her it was cold feet; everyone gets them, yada yada yada. Shoulda listened to the groom. They were separated and divorcing within 3 months.

That’s the inner voice kicking into panic mode.

Eloping was perfect for FMORC and I. We did look at venues and tallied the numbers. To get the minimum of everything we were “told” we needed and who we “had” to invite it was going to be $40k. Not including dress or weddng party stuff. The church, the food, the style and all that was for others. So, we eloped for under $1k all included. And had a backyard reception at our leisure for 3k.

IMO If you’re not on the same page for the wedding and feel one won’t budge or consider your thoughts it’s a rocky start.
This could seems fine and cute.

I don’t think they are going to be the “big thing” they want to be. They were both suppose to be ridding high after their movies this year.. but both had BO disappointments.. And regardless of how many shirtless covers he does, I don’t see him getting a lot of movie roles as a lead.. and her either.

I thought they would just go off and get married then have a “big party”.. but it seems to be a big event.. Congrats.. She has a lot of outside endorsements and I think he has a few things too. I just don’t thing they are going to be the “next big couple”.. attractive.. but something is just not there for it to happen.. and I think they both want it to happen.

    • kibbles says:

I think they will follow through with the wedding. They seem well-matched and probably realize that they are B-list actors who get more attention as a couple. Joe needs Sofia more than she needs him, but both are bigger with each other than as singles. And you are correct that both probably had high hopes about making it big as movie stars but neither of their films broke the box office. Sofia’s movie was a total flop.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I agree. Both attractive, but neither has “it.”

    • Bell says:

They have zero chemistry. I thought they were another contract couple like Tom/Katie or George/Amal?

      • Guest21 says:

IMO they are a PR couple. They might go through with a wedding but there will be an equally promoted divorce not too long after. As much as her son hated Loeb, at least he had an opinion about him.
It would be nice if she settled with a guy who didn’t want kids as she clearly doesn’t, but she always “gives in”…

  6. Susie says:

This story is totally made up. He doesn’t care. He wants the publicity as much as she does because they know it works. They probably already sold the rights to it. Don’t get me wron I love them. But he’s not panicked.

  7. emmyb1608 says:

Looks wise, they look great together… But if all the blinds are true and this is a PR relationship, maybe “cold feet” are because he didn’t think it would go this far?

  8. petitehirondelle says:

I’am not following their news but i have already seen her many times talking about it, doing covers of magazine, articles about the places,… personaly, i have been to many wedding and the most beautiful were the less expensive. You don’t need a castle and thousands people to be happy, it will be hard to deal with all that that DAY

  9. lucy2 says:

Generally I’m not a fan of huge over the top weddings, but after what she went through with her awful ex recently, if it makes her happy, go for it.

His super serious face is unintentionally hilarious.

  10. Dash says:

Maybe their contract is nearly up?

  11. Ms. D says:

I listened to his interviews on The Nerdist podcast and it totally changed my impression of him. He is hilarious and doesn’t seem to take himself seriously. Compared to rumors of how her ex was, i can see how Joe is probably a breath of fresh air for her.

    • ell says:

really? i’m long term fan of true blood, and I just couldn’t bear to hear him talk, he always acted as true blood was all about alcide lol

    • lucy2 says:

That interview improved my impression of him, but I still don’t find him that likable. I’ve always felt like he has too high an opinion of his skills and the work he’s doing. I don’t know.
They seem very happy together, but I could have done without him imitating her accent every time he talked about her. Speaking of, I just saw an early MF episode the other day, and it was jarring to hear how minimal her accent was then. She’s really ramped it up in recent years.

    • anon33 says:

Those Nerdist podcasts are AWESOME. The Jon Hamm one is hilarious, Hardwick calls him out for liking the Dave Matthews Band…

      • Ms. D says:

Oh I will have to check out the Jon Hamm one. Any other episodes of The Nerdist that are good let me know. I cracked up at the one with the guys from It’s Always Sunny.

  12. ell says:

i hate weddings. i mean, I don’t really they’re usually quite nice, but every bride I’ve ever met gets super stressed organising it, and that I hate. It’s meant to be a happy moment, if it stresses you out what’s the point?

he’s unattractive btw. he’s hot but void of any appeal, like his true blood character.

  13. Lucy says:

They look good together and seem like nice people. All the best for them!!

  14. funcakes says:

I hate to be a pessimist, but I never believed this engagement to start. When will Hollywood stop treating their consumer like idiots? Why can’t people date whom they want and stop playing games?

This may have worked in the he 50’s, but not now.

  15. Shitler says:

Funny I just randomly thought about them today. Hope they’ll get extra security..there’s no telling what her creepy ex would do..

  16. QQ says:

Titty Flowers… Just what every Bride needs!!!

let me exit here unless I catch wedding Hives… BF keeps Groomzillaing about his special dream Day and I keep side eyeing all these ides of his

  17. Esteph says:

I do not mind him one bit at all: tall, in shape, and seems easy-going. What’s not to like?

  18. kri says:

Wasn’t this the exact plot of “Sex and The City”?! If she hits him over the head with a bouquet it’s not gonna damage anything.

  19. Nikole says:

He’s on the cover of a muscle magazine. Of course he isn’t wearing a shirt.

  20. Ang says:

He is so hot in my opinion, her true voice even gets on my nerves, she’s beautiful but annoying😏

  21. Angie says:

I always thought this relationship smelled like bullshit from the beginning. The whole “dream girl” thing he would talk about even way before meeting her was no coincidence. Maybe they’ll actually get married but will it last? Hell no. They seem to have gotten together on the basis of publicity and “hotness”.

  22. Valois says:

you can have 300 close friends? Or 75 each (plus dates)?
    Okay.

    • Bridget says:

My side of the family alone (as in, my aunts, uncles & cousins – so people I see and grew up with) is 75 people. It can add up fast.

  23. here's Wilson says:

I listened – ok numbly half listened – to her on Howard Stern recently and swear she said they were not doing the over the top wedding thing. Also, I feel like she over-the-tops her accent making herself sound like a sexed up cartoon character.

Like Joe I’m also from Pittsburgh, although I’m from the city proper while he’s from an upscale neighborhood just outside the city and born into at least an uppermiddle class family. I think his personality speaks to that. I’m digging the Pirates hat though.

    • Sassy says:

I’m from the Burgh also originally. What gets me is that Joe is characterized as a meathead (in this column) and he is far from it. He graduated from CMU drama school, one of the finest in the country. Just getting admitted to CMU is tough. I think he has a future as a character actor. He is probably making $$ now with the muscle boy image. BTW – I lived in Mt. Lebo.
