There was a moment, when Britney Spears first came out on stage at opening of the VMAs where it felt like real nostalgia, like “Hey, remember when Britney Spears used to own this place? Good times.” Instead, what’s notable these days is when Britney shows up and does the bare minimum. I’ll admit it, when I just saw her on stage, I thought she looked pretty good and she seemed “sharper” than usual. But these photos aren’t all that great. She looks too bronzed, too showgirl-y, too… something.
Britney’s dress is Labourjoisie and it’s too small. I think someone selected this for her as a visual throwback to her infamous nude jumpsuit at the VMAs 15 years ago. Think about that. It’s been 15 years since that moment.
Ciara in Alexandre Vauthier. I’m not into this look AT ALL. Ciara is so pretty and she has a great figure. I don’t get why she wore this or styled herself this way. It’s not flattering at all.
Emily Ratajkowski in Altuzarra. You know how Emily is pretty much famous for having a great figure and being comfortable with showing a lot of skin? How is it that at the VMAs – where famewhores go to be hot messes – that Emily was one of the few ladies covered up and looking pretty modest? I like her look here and I think the boots are killer.

Brit’s outfit….no. But, she really is looking sharper, more with it and more enthusiastic, in these and other pics I’ve seen recently, which makes me happy.

Yes, she looks happier and hope she is. But her face, over countered and over bronzed. It is just not my favorite look but lately it has been a trend to walk around with tons of coverage. I think she looks better with everything less in general, including that busting cleavage.

OK, call me crazy, but I am CERTAIN they are using a Britney clone to do some of her Vegas and promotion work. The show is pre-recorded so anyone could do it, and there are photos that have either been REALLY heavily PhotoShopped or just aren’t her. I just went to britneyspears.com and played “Britney or Britney double?”
The real Britney has those distinctive wide-set eyes and her nose is sort of funny. I’m convinced that person on the cover of Women’s Health, for example, just isn’t her. Has anyone else noticed this?
Now whenever I see a picture of her I wonder if we are being duped. But the real Britney came out for this evening, right?

This is interesting. Do you have some image comparisons where it shows the most that it’s the clone? I can’t google around too much when at work. I only checked out the Women’s Health cover and yeah, that is Heidi Klum crossed with Sarah Chalke.
Interesting conspiracy here…interesting. That main image you get when you go to the website looks like it could be a double, since the hat is far down on her face. I think it’s all her though. She may have had had meds adjusted and/or finally came to a place where it all works better for her.
@belle what show is prerecorded? I thought The MTV awards were live with a delay. I really don’t believe that they use Britney doubles lol that’s some vigilant citizen stuff.
It’s her – she just had a nose job last year and it’s changed her looks alot.
Glad she’s happy and healthy. She can stop with the cosmetic surgery though. Enough is enough. I think this is her third nose job. She needs to watch out before she ventures into dysmorphia.

I saw Britney in Vegas last weekend…
There are giant screens all around the stage but they never once show her on them – there are just patterns or old videos of her playing.
I was sitting in an okay spot but the blondie dancing on stage literally could have been anyone because I never could see her face. I thought it was so weird – they didn’t even show her face when she was talking. I thought they maybe wouldn’t during songs as it would be clear she wasn’t singing…
The only thing that made me think it really was Britney is that her dancing was a bit crappier/sometimes slightly out of time with the backup dancers.
While I completely knew Britney wouldn’t be singing, I remembered that they used to at least have her pre-record more realistic vocals to play as opposed to her CDs but I don’t think they even bother anymore.
The contrast of her ‘singing’ and talking is so bad – when talking she’s puffing and breathing loud coz of all the dancing but oddly no breath noises while singing… amazing! Haha
But all in all it was really a great show… love me some Britney!
She was a bit awkward at times on stage – she affected a weird cockey British accent for a while and her speaking voice was quite high pitched – very cloying
I have heard that there was a double since the show opened, in case she needs a break that night. I would doubt they use the double for photo shoots or public appearances, because that would be pushing it, but easily for the show. With photo shop, I guess it wouldn’t be impossible to use a double, but the more people who know, the more likely the secret will get out. If she is already lip syncing, and there is a body double, it’s basically a Britney Spears Tribute show.

Britney looks good! Looking back even when she was in her prime, she has never had great taste in clothing. She actually looks happy here.

I actually like Ciara’s outfit, and I don’t like the clothing of any other person I’ve seen at the VMAs this year at all. It’s different and structured in an interesting way, hot without being completely about “look at my t&a!!!” She looks a bit like a Romulan commander on a night out.

I don’t understand why of all people, Emily was not only there but also presented. That said, I love her dress and boots. If I went to the VMAs, I’d want to wear something like this – it kinda hearkens back to the days when the VMAs were a little more rock ‘n’ roll.
I also don’t mind Ciara’s look – I think it’s striking.
I’m going to presume that Emily was there because she’s in the EDM/DJ movie We Are Your Friends. Which tanked.

I have not seen the VMAs in years, this year being no exception, but I remember Britney being on her prime on my tween/teen years. Those performances were iconic. From the medley with N*Sync, to oops I did it again and I am a slave 4 u, girl could bring it. The feuds were if Britney or Christina would win, or which boy band was better, Nsync or BSB. Not even Taylor Swift gets close to the Britney or the early 2000s. She does look happier and has an awesome body, I just hope she truly is happy and at peace with herself. Always will root for Britney!
I came by quickly just to comment on Britney, I saw this last night. Not loving her dress, the fit and scrunched boobs look awfully uncomfortable BUT I in recent years I always look at her face first. She has periods of looking a little glazed over and dead in the eyes where I think meds need to be adjusted a bit. The first thing I noticed is how bright her eyes looked! From that stand point she looks great! I didn’t see the awards I’ll have to find a clip to watch. She looks bright and happy, not as uncomfortable as she often does on the red carpet. Forever Team Brit!
