Taylor Swift & her squad mean girl’d Ariana Grande & Miley Cyrus post-VMAs

FFN_MTV_VMAS_ERFF_083115_51837593

Do I think Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood/Mean Girl squad is petty and ridiculous? Of course. But… I would still love to know what really goes down in that group. Like, I’m fascinated by the group dynamics. I’m sure that Tay-Tay is the alpha, of course, just as I’m sure that Selena Gomez is the drama queen still obsessing over her loser ex-boyfriend (Biebz). Karlie is The Cool Girl, right? She’s centered, she doesn’t need anyone’s approval and even Swifty is sort of in awe of Karlie, but Karlie isn’t looking to dethrone Swifty as the alpha. Anyway, Radar has a gossipy piece about what went down with Taylor and her squad after the VMAs. First, Taylor took her girls out to a Republic Records party, then they all went to Taylor’s house. I want to believe all of the following is true:

Taylor Swift and her pals first attended a Republic Records party at the swanky West Hollywood restaurant Ysabel, which featured an A-list guest list of attendees including Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas and Ariana Grande. Swift paid the huge tab for her pals’ hair, makeup, stylists and transportation, our eyewitness said.

Gomez had a boozy evening — “She started to get pretty f***ed up,” our eyewitness said — downing four vodka sodas at Ysabel, where she “was flirting big time with Nick Jonas.”

RadarOnline.com’s eyewitness said that Grande and her brother Frankie could not get close to Swift, who “made it clear to security not to let them near…At first, I thought it was just Frankie, but it was crystal clear [Swift] wanted nothing to do with either of them,” our eyewitness said, noting that Grande “gave up” trying to approach “after a few minutes.”

Empire beauty Serayah McNeil tested Swift’s patience as she spent too much time taking selfies and Snapchats at the affair, leading Swift to ask her to put the phone away. It “was fine at first,” our source said, but eventually Swift got “super-annoyed” with her pal’s hijinks.

At a get-together at Swift’s house afterwards, according to our eyewitness, everyone changed into sweats and Swift Facetimed her beau Calvin Harris for a romantic exchange with many “I love you’s” going both ways. The kickback was well-catered with sushi, vodka and fireball shots, which Swift’s inner circle all indulged in, according to our eyewitness. Swift sipped on Ketel One. There, Cyrus’ racy act at the VMAs was the talk of the bash, with Gomez extremely critical of her one-time pal. Gomez said, according to our eyewitness, “I can’t believe we used to be friends … I should’ve reached out that night she cut her hair and posted the pic on Twitter.”

Swift and Gomez thought that Cyrus’ VMAs antics — from smoking marijuana to flashing her nipple — were obnoxious and annoying, our eyewitness said. Swift and Gomez didn’t throw too much artistic respect toward Cyrus, the eyewitness said, as they were “in stitches, doubled over from laughing” after hearing the first song off Miley’s surprise album Dead Petz.

[From Radar]

Part of the reason I like this story is because I believe it. This makes sense with what I believe are the existing group dynamics. Selena was probably a little bit depressed after sitting through Justin Bieber’s tearful VMA performance, so Selena needed a pick-me-up: booze and flirting with Nick Jonas. Nick apparently dumped Kendall Jenner very quickly and I would totally be down with a Nick-and-Selena hookup. In fact, they would make a lot of sense together. Anyway, yeah… Mean Girling Ariana Grande and her brother, talking smack about Miley Cyrus and Tay-Tay ordering her friends around. Sounds about right.

…Mean Girling Ariana Grande and her brother, talking smack about Miley Cyrus…
well, these people invite mean girling and smack-talk!

    • Kelly says:

      Boy howdie!

    • Sarah says:

And had I been in Taylor’s posse, I would have been doing the same thing.

      • Belle Epoch says:

If I were young, in the same industry, at the same events etc., I would totally go to Swiftie’s house and have a pajama party and throw up about Miley. Are there problems with this scenario? Of course. Would you really refuse if you were invited? Doubt it, esp. since TayTay is a power player.

      • lola says:

How old is Taylor Swift, if she’s older than 14, then she definitely has serious developmental problems.

    • Annie says:

Ariana’s brother is so obnoxious. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is the reason Ariana got turned down. He’s going to affect her career negatively if she keeps taking him everywhere.

      • Emma - The JP Lover says:

@Annie, who wrote: “Ariana’s brother is so obnoxious. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is the reason Ariana got turned down.”

Is Ariana Grande the girl who was filmed licking/spiting on donuts?

      • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

        @Emma

        Yup.

      • LikeThat says:

Awww, Frankie is awesome. He did some work with a non-profit I volunteer for and he went above and beyond anything we asked. He was by far the most engaged, helpful personality we’ve ever worked with and I hope he does great things.

      • Otaku Fairy says:

I know next to nothing about Frankie Grande- other than the fact that he’s Ariana’s brother and has a reputation for being obnoxious. I don’t know what things he’s specifically done, that’s just what I’ve heard from people who watch Big Brother. But if anyone is ruining Ariana’s career, it’s Ariana herself- mostly because of her “hate America comments” but partially because of the donut-licking, which was the actual bad behavior.

      • jwoolman says:

But has he licked any donuts?

    • Imo says:

If the rumors are to be believed The Wkend cheated on Bella Hadid with Ariana. This would make her personae non grata with Taylor’s clique. And with Taylor’s baking skills I imagine licking a doughnut you’re not going to buy makes you the devil.

      • Sam says:

Swifty doesn’t have a “squad” she has minions! She’s the sun they revolve around

      • Beth says:

That would make a lot of sense. I can see them not wanting Frankie there because he’s an obvious fame whore, but blocking Ari (and not just in an implied/don’t-join-us way) seemed weird.

  2. InvaderTak says:

Duh. And did anyone not find Cyrus annoying? Selena needs to get it together.

    • Shambles says:

If you told me all the stuff about Selena being a boozy mess was just passive-aggressive shade from Taylor herself, I would believe you. When they “broke up” as friends, wasn’t the story that Taylor was sick of Selena’s endless pining for the Biebs?

And I kind of hate that I know this, but the Selena-Nick thing has already happened. Years and years ago, when everyone was still relatively young and innocent, those two were a thing. She was in the Jonas Brothers’ “Burning Up” video. So I’ll definitely believe that part of this story.

      • Chem says:

Taylor and Selena broke up as friends because TS found out that SG was doing cocaine and lied about it.
If TS finds out again that S is still a drug addict and alcoholic, the friendship is over. Selena will blame Justin for making her miserable as usual even though is the other way around, S humiliated J for years and made him suicidal and drug addict with all the on off relationship.

  3. Sugar says:

I kinda believe this. Swifty’s friends are carefully chosen to project a certain image so I think she would definitely cut Ariana Grande dead. I can see her ruling her squad with a casually worded “request”, too.

  4. Luca76 says:

This story seriously reminds me of my friends in the third grade.

  5. sassy says:

but but but she’s all about fostering female relationships and Girl Power…..that doesn’t sound very girl powery more bully like ..shame Tay Tay …..shame what would your cats say ??

    • Sunny! says:

This! Exactly this! I can’t stand Arianna or Miley, and the VMA’s were awful, but what I really can’t deal with is “its ok for Taylor to mean-girl everyone else, but nobody can mean girl Taylor.”

      Double standard much?

      • Allie says:

@Sunny! I think the reason people are ripping Taylor about this is because her image is about being the super nice, innocent America’s Sweetheart. She created this girl squad so she could act like a “sisterhood”, meanwhile low key bullying other celebs. If she would stop acting like a princess unicorn, no one care that she was mocking Ariana or Miley.

      • claire says:

I guess we are all mean girls too, though. Majority can’t stand Ariana, her brother and Miley here. She has to deal with them in real life and reacts like everyone else. Big whoop.

      • Natalie says:

Gwyneth and Taylor should get together. They have so much to discuss right down to collecting the right kind of famous friends.

      • Redd says:

It’s a weird adult adolescence that I don’t get. Everyone loves some gossip, but sitting around in sweats with the girls ripping into some chick who is not there is something we all should outgrow. It’s embarrassing.

I wonder if Miley Cyrus cares. I can’t imagine wearing that stuff and behaving that way, knowing people will react negatively, and actually caring. That’s just a set up for self loathing right there.

    • Wren says:

Cats are all about snubbing, throwing shade, and making you feel unworthy of their presence. I think they’d approve!

  6. Ummm. says:

Still love her. Love the mean-girl, the business woman and the cat lady that she is!

Also who doesn’t gossip with their girlfriends after an event? That’s the most fun part! (I’m a monster.)

    • Zan says:

Hahaha, so I’m a monster too! Oups!

Karlie kloss is wearing flats and she’s still taller than the others! Nice

    • MrsB says:

Exactly. And, anybody on here that says they wouldn’t do the same with their friends, is lying. This is a gossip site, everybody on here has been making fun of Miley and her antics. Of course they’re going to be talking and gossiping about the show!

      • Elisa the I. says:

        THIS.

      • claire says:

Right? And who wants to hang with the donut-licker and her thirsty brother?!

      • Mellie says:

Right on! And I’ve heard nothing good about Ariana Grande either…heard she’s a little biotch. The cold shoulder may well be deserved.

      • Jib says:

There is a BIG difference between social commentary (which I think is what we do here) about people we don’t know and who don’t care one bit about us, people who would run us over with their limos if we were dying in the street and a bunch of girls getting together and being mean about another girl they all know in real life.

Calling them the same is a false equivalence.

      • Katherine says:

Exactly. It’s hypocritical to criticize Taylor and her clique for doing what everyone here does on a daily basis. I can’t stand her, but she’s not wrong about Arianna, her brother or Miley Cyrus.

    • Emily says:

Yeah, it would be incredibly hypocritical for me to criticise her on a gossip blog for gossiping.

I also love her in all her evil genius cat lady glory.

    • L&Mmommy says:

THIS. When I get together with my girlfriends gossiping is what we do. I don’t think TayTay and her crew are any different from any group of friends in that regard. And Miley, Arianna and her brother(ugh) are the worst.

    • K says:

Isn’t that why you go to the event? To talk to your friends about the other people at the event? Everyone does it. It’s human

    • Kitten says:

I fully support her cat-ladyness, this is true.

    • missskitttin says:

Why do you love a mean girl? why do you love a bully?

  7. NewWester says:

So Taylor made a point of Facetiming with Calvin Harris, and saying “I love you” in front of all her friends? I suppose she wanted to show everyone how she has such a great boyfriend “gag” When Taylor and Calvin break up it is going to be epic

    • Imo says:

Um, never. Tay totally wrote Mrs Taylor Harris 4ever inside the cover of her Trapper Keeper. In gel pen. So all the eyerolls.

      • Aussie girl says:

Yes and then they played light as a finger and stiff as a board before prank calling Lena Dunham.

      • Imo says:

Hahahaha!! Wearing Paul Frank socks, natch.

      • WinnieCoopersMom says:

Aussie – I was wondering where Lena was, considering she was in the Bad Blood video with the rest of them but not in attendance. I guess she didn’t want to “feel short” again like she did on stage. Must suck to feel like the loser of that group.

      • Aussie girl says:

@ Winniecoopersmum, I wondered where she was too. It must get annoying been in Taylor’s group.

      • Karynne says:

Gel pen! Hahahaha! You crack me up.

  8. Kelly says:

Do you blame them? Ariana’s donut licking incident was probably mentioned more than once and mocked. That was gross and so dismissive to the owner. And did anyone find Miley’s antics remotely entertaining? If I were their age, I can see my friends dissecting that performance and ridiculing each and every try-too-hard costume. It put the woman’s movement back to the sixties. There was nothing empowering about it.

Say what you will about Taylor Swift, she is hard working and seems pretty strong without demeaning women with faux feminism. I don’t care for the revenge songs overall, one too many, but she can stand up for herself and her friends.

Honestly, my head is still shaking over the spectacle the Miley Cyrus created. It is really disturbing that she presented that kind of persona on a show where personable young girls could see it. Taking their parents out of the equation, is this what girls should aspire to?

    • Jen43 says:

I agree with you. Miley and Ariana invite mocking. My friends and I would have laughed about them for hours. I mean, isn’t that what we are doing HERE?

      • Freddy Spaghetti says:

        +1000

      • kibbles says:

THIS. I definitely would not want anyone like Cyrus or Grande – women with very little self-respect, manners, or pride – hanging out in my circle. I would be cordial to them but then do what we are all doing here which is critiquing their horrible behavior with my friends.

      • PennyLane says:

        Yes.

    • Christina says:

Yep. Agree totally. Good for her for giving Ariana the cold shoulder. I wish the entire music industry would do the same.

    • Wren says:

Nope, not one bit. We’ve been doing the same on this site and we weren’t even there.

I’ve never liked Taylor’s woe is me, broken hearted revenge song style, but I don’t see anything wrong with this. And I totally believe she is Queen Taylor in that group and without her it would likely fall apart.

    • Otaku Fairy says:

      The purity brigade is here!

Honestly, I don’t like Ariana’s bitchy behavior or Miley’s cultural appropriation at ALL , and those things are totally worth mocking and all the calling out. But I also don’t think Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez are better feminists OR models just because they dress conservatively and the sexuality they portray is more subtle. Not being ‘modest’ does not set the women’s movement back, but elevating some women and girls over others based on how chastely they present themselves definitely does- to the 50’s, not 60’s. Actually, probably to bible times. There’s a lot wrong with all of these girls’ feminism,- Taylor, Selena, and Miley- but modesty is not one of them. If you’re defining feminism as how closely a woman adheres to traditional values, you have the wrong definition. Covering up doesn’t make you better than other women OR more self- respecting any more than not doing so means a lack of self-respect. Modesty can be empowering for some women, just like immodesty can be empowering for women, but we don’t get to decide what is and isn’t empowering for others, and promoting the virgin/whore dichotomy while lecturing on empowerment and feminism is hypocritical. I mean just yesterday we had two posts about slut-shaming and victim-blaming, and yet, here we are.

    • Katherine says:

      THIS. Thank you!

  9. jaye says:

That whole thing read like fan fiction written by a 16 year old girl.

  10. GlimmerBunny says:

Haha, this actually is pretty believable gossip. It would have been fun to be the eyewitness 😀

  11. LB says:

Selena left that party with Prince Royce though. So as much I’d love all of this to be true (because I don’t think Taylor is as nice as she wants people to believe), I think Selena had other plans.

  12. paola says:

the fact taylor thinks she’s a girls’ girl is ridicolous and all those girls in her squad probably secretly hate each other and can’t wait to bring one another down.
So basically if you’re in the group you’re safe but if you don’t want to be in the group you just become their meal?

Yawn to all of this high school stuff.
Grow up ladies, it’s about time.

  13. greenmonster says:

Even if it is true, what’s the big deal? Most of us here talk smack about Miley and Ariana Grande and her brother.

Also, A-List today reads: Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas and Ariana Grande? That’s a shame.

  14. serena says:

What a bunch of idiots. While I totally get not wanting to get involved with baby- Ariana Grande and Miley’s awful new album + vma’s appearance.. at least try to be nice about it. What happiness does it give you bring another person down? What a sad life.
As much as I like her, it’s not like Selena Gomez can do better music-wise (and when were they friends?), she has not that much of a voice either.

    • joanne says:

yet, you say this on a gossip site while claiming not to be happy about bringing another person down? it’s ok to do that to Selena? i’m here because i love gossip.

    • WinnieCoopersMom says:

So if they are not besties with Ariana, that means they are putting her down? They simply arent friends with her. She prob has her own friends. So what. People dont have to be BFFs with every single person in the room. Cant handle this PC attitude now that no one can handle having their feelings hurt.

      • Mltpsych says:

Seriously this could have been just ignoring her and that is not necessarily “mean girling”. Also who did not discuss Miley or laugh at her music after the VMAs???

      • Katherine says:

Exactly. It’s getting ridiculous, that’s life. Not everybody is going to like you, suck it up and move on.

  15. Katydid20 says:

Yep, not surprised in the least. Welcome to the 6th grade, Taylor. I’m going to find it entertaining when she finally falls off her high horse.

  16. mia girl says:

Somebody needs to send Swift a box of Kalteen bars, STAT.

  17. cleveland girl says:

I agree with most of the comments here – but why on earth would Taylor WANT to hang with Ariana Grande?? She is too young for the group, and she seems like a spoiled brat. And Miley probably doesn’t want to hang with these girls anymore then they want to hang with her.

  18. lucy2 says:

Well, I can’t blame anyone for not wanting to be around Ariana Grande.

  19. Talie says:

Cara D. seemed to ditch them all quickly.

  20. K says:

I mean I can’t actually fault them for not wanting anything to do with Grande she is terrible.

Really nothing in this is that bad, we all have the friend that takes to many selfies that we want to tell to stop. Tay Tay can so go for it. And yeah Selena well harmless fun there.

As for the Miley stuff oh please girl earned it.

Yeah I can believe this and it doesn’t make me think anything negative. I don’t even think it’s mean girling.

  21. Keaton says:

Taylor and her squad sound like they’re still in 6th grade but I’d snub Ariana Grande too. I saw where she and Beiber publicly mocked someone’s fan art. That’s just cruel. Say what you will about Tay Tay but she doesn’t publicly humiliate her fans. Quite the opposite.

  22. Kiki says:

This is why I stop watching Mtv and all the music award shows. It was all about the music and the showmanship of different musical artist. This whole ridiculous antics is just plain pathetic and immature.

  23. Imo says:

Hurl squad. And yes, I still want to party with them. And by party I mean bake.

  24. mkyarwood says:

Hm. And suddenly, I’m Team Miley.

  25. Hannah says:

That shot where her and her gang all stood up when Nikki won – so intimidating. It was like a scene out of The Birds.

  26. kri says:

WTF Mariska?! What could a woman like her have in common with those chittering Skipper Dollz? And don’t get me started on Frankie Grande. I have heard fire alarms less shrill. This whole Girl Gang Swift insists on is so weird.

    • bettyrose says:

IKR? I only clicked this thread to get more insight into why Mariska is hanging with the teen drama queens, but I’m leaving disappointed.

  27. Jayna says:

I felt old and very ashamed I read the whole thing and brain cells died. Maybe if I was 16 it would have been interesting. LOL

  28. Ellie says:

I saw photos of Lorde at the VMAs, what happened to her being Taylor’s friend? I haven’t seen a single photo of them together at the event, which, given Taylor’s penchant for taking a selfie with every famous friend in any given room, would lead me to believe something has soured between them. Maybe Lorde doesn’t want to put up with vapid supermodel talk — I could see that. Which is pretty funny given she’s younger than all of them.

    • mkyarwood says:

I’ll co sign. Lorde doesn’t have time for this.

    • sunsetsnow says:

      Now that is interesting.

    • OhDear says:

As much as she (Lorde) annoys me, she seems to be more thoughtful than Swift and her “squad.”

    • Alex says:

That is interesting but supposedly lorde was with them because she posted a tweet about Taylor’s brother (Austin) and how he was in awe that he was at the VMAs when they grew up on the farm,
I don’t blame her for being annoyed with the constant selfie stuff. Nor do I blame her for not wanting Ariana or Frankie near her. Ariana has proven to be a child and gross and her brother is a famewh*re.
Selena has always knocked back the booze. That’s why I believed the stories that said SHE was the one that got JB into drinking. As douchey as he is…she’s no saint. Plus her and Nick used to date as well so not surprised she is flirting with him. I don’t believe he was ever dating Kendall.

As for the Swift facetiming her bf in the middle of a party…thirsty

    • Naddie says:

I was about to ask the same. I’ve never seen Lorde hanging with her anymore. But it’s no surprise, Lorde always seems to have more than air between her ears.

  29. May says:

Lol, can’t be true. At least not the Selena part. There are pics and videos of Selena leaving the party with Prince Royce and some blond females. She’s also seen arriving to a hotel where her friends were staying. And also she was NOT there when Bieber was performing, probably backstage or already left.

The fact that I know all this. Lord. I blame twitter. Haha.

  30. Vampi says:

Ariana and Frankie are nasty pieces of work. Miley is a try-hard *censored*… i can see this being true.
Look how much “we” gossip and snark on them here….can you imagine how delicious the gossip was for those that had a front row seat to Miley’s trainwreck ?
oh, and Justin fake cried. Lil’ Asshat. Not a sign of a tear. Ugh

  31. Skins says:

They all look so ridiculous in that picture.

  32. Meatball says:

I can believe the stuff that went on at the party, but I don’t see Taylor inviting random people to her house to witness changing into sweats. Which would leave one of the “friends” to the the “source”for this crap.

  33. qtpi says:

I’m still trying to find the video of Cara Delewhatever rolling her eyes at Taylor on the red carpet.

  34. sofia says:

Does she eves go by herself to an event? This is so weird to me.

  35. Skins says:

Oh, and Selena Gomez has a hell of a nerve bad-mouthing anybody’s music

  36. swack says:

Didn’t read the article, but can we all move out of high school and try to become mature adults.

    • SK says:

See, the thing that gets me is the older models hanging out in this group. Jaime King is 36. Lily Aldridge is about to turn 30. Both are married with kids. Why the f are they hanging around with a bunch of 17-24 year olds?? Even if they are lovely girls, the difference in life experience and maturity would have to be pretty staggering. I’m 32 and I admittedly have a a couple of 26 year old friends; but hanging out on the reg with anyone younger than that would do my head in! And I don’t have kids! It’s just… weird to me.

Anyway, I think Selena is a weird one in the group because it really formed when she and Taylor seemed to be on a bit of a break and she was a bit of a mess. Taylor has brought her back in but I’m not sure how close she is with the others. Weird dynamics. But 4 vodka mix drinks at a party is not that much really if the party was a few hours long.

It’s funny, I’ve known various groups of ladies over the years who are all absolutely lovely one-on-one, but when they get together become awful and cliquey and exclude others. I’m not even sure how aware they are of this behaviour. They all somehow make each other worse people when they are together. They have heaps of fun with each other; but they shut out everyone else and can actually be quite mean and nasty. Usually there’s one or two chicks who lead that negative side and the others don’t do it directly but they implicitly back them by giggling or just being with them and not stopping them. It can be really horrid. I’ve seen girls I’ve known and been good friends with for years get like this. It’s usually good-looking girls too I’ve noticed. Personally I just don’t understand it and I’ve never gone there myself. I like being friends with everyone. Plus I was bullied atrociously when I was young so have no time for that kind of crap. And I also tend to hang out with the dudes a bit more. It’s really childish and nasty behaviour though. I see Taylor’s crew being like this without even necessarily realising it.

  37. Not to be trusted says:

I think Taylor is an egomanical mess with a screw loose. I’m sure she pays these people to be her friends and it’s a cult-like environment. Time will tell.

  38. meme says:

why is Mariska hanging out with these girls? what could they possibly talk about? why is she even at the VMA’s?

    • Leah says:

Mariska said her daughter loves Taylor so much. It sounded like she did the video just to make her daughter happy.

  39. Wooley says:

Sounds like Cara left, I can’t picture her actually liking taylor and them.

    • SK says:

I reckon Cara is a smart girl who realises that the publicity she gets from being in this crew is gold. I reckon she likes them in small doses for short periods but then they all get too saccharine and ridiculous and she is a smart, funny, wicked girl and can’t take any more! I mean, they are pretty ridiculous.

  40. Bridget says:

Nick and Selena already dated. It was at the same time as Taylor and Joe dated, and I think how Taylor and Selena became friends in the first place.

I’m sufficiently embarrassed for remembering that.

  41. Leah says:

Taylor is the Regina George of the pop world.

  42. Naddie says:

Cara seems the most mature, down-to-earth person ever among this bunch. And I don’t think she is that mature or down-to-earth.

  43. WinonaRyder says:

They are all so incestuous. And incredibly immature.

  44. The Eternal Side-Eye says:

I swear this ‘squad’ gets bigger everytime I see it.

Damn, I couldn’t imagine being someone’s follower like that. It just seems lik you become a human interachangeable piece. I swear its like Real Life Spice Girls!

Just looking at the pics I can tell who ‘Boss Spice’ is, ‘Glam Spice’ ‘Sassy Spice’. Eeesh.

  45. Joh says:

How do they all make themselves so unattractive?

  46. jenn12 says:

I can’t believe these women are actual adults.

  47. PennyLane says:

“Swift paid the huge tab for her pals’ hair, makeup, stylists and transportation, our eyewitness said.”

Nine people including her – I’m guessing that the bill ran to about $50,000, yes? Or more, depending on how many stylists were employed whether the dresses were borrowed or bought.

  48. lile says:

BS!!!! Something tells me that they have ALOT more interesting things to talk about than skanky MC. I also think you guys have it all wrong. These girls are trying to teach TS to own her looks, her body, and be confident. They are teaching her how to walk, how to dress sexy, how to be more confident. That is the connection. But that’s boring. So go on with your ‘mean girls’ stories….

  49. Tilly says:

That line-up photo makes me giggle every time – the bimbo in the all-white outfit just looks SO ridiculous!!!!

I can’t stand Taylor – sure, she’s talented, but she’s too overexposed and her girly gangs / cliques just come across as desperate and immature … it’s like “look at me – I have all these wonderful friends that want to be with me” … it’s very high school-ish.

  50. Veronica says:

Of course they did. Miley’s made it clear that she’s on the Perry side of the conflict, and as for Grande…why would you want her on your squad?

  51. Otaku Fairy says:

I believe (most) of this story. It’s not really that mean though- sure, some of it is a little eye-roll-inducing, but they’re not obligated to be friends with everybody- or pretend that they are.

  52. Cinderella says:

I’m just wondering which one of those girls is going to be the first to tire of the squad and break free.

    Karlie, I’m counting on you!!

  53. missskitttin says:

This sounds 100% true. But who is going to care? Since when do we care how upright our idols are? Look who is the most popular politician this days! What we are turning into. Being petty and mean don’t influence how people love us, but the power we have and the money…. That sways people.

  54. Bread and Circuses says:

So this is a female version of Leo DiCaprio’s Pussy Posse, isn’t it? Drinking, partying, being obnoxious, having fun together.

I may be okay with it, actually.

  55. Magpie says:

None of these chicks on her “squad” are her competition. Katy, nicki, miley, ariana are. All her squad members are models, actors, or washed up like selena. Lorde and the haim gals are more “alternative” so good for collecting. Tay doesn’t collect “pop” girls on her level.

  56. perplexed says:

“Swift and Gomez thought that Cyrus’ VMAs antics — from smoking marijuana to flashing her nipple — were obnoxious and annoying, our eyewitness said. Swift and Gomez didn’t throw too much artistic respect toward Cyrus, the eyewitness said, as they were “in stitches, doubled over from laughing” after hearing the first song off Miley’s surprise album Dead Petz.”

Is this really mean-girling or basically just revealing that Swift and Gomez have the same opinion as the majority of the internet?

Maybe Gomez was friends with Cyrus at one point, but I can’t recall Swift and Cyrus ever being that close.

  57. iheartgossip says:

WoW . Tay-Tay is really a bully. Those ‘friends’ are afraid to leave, for fear of retaliation or worse.

  58. Korra says:

Ugh I hate her. Her and squint Eastwood would have beautiful squinty children together. I just can’t with her bs. I hate all these people involved in her stupid squad. Hailee, why girl why?

  59. Leileipony says:

I don’t think it’s actually that bad. Miley is awful and the VMAs were too. People talk about other people all the time, it isn’t something that people grow out of. It’s the equivalent of talking about a coworker you don’t like. Sitting around gossiping with my friends, drinking vodka and eating sushi sounds like a great evening to me. Plus the other events would’ve been like being at work so this would’ve given them a chance to actually relax and hang out.

Taylor isn’t perfect but remember we are all people gossiping about strangers on a website. Atleast they know Miley, we cannot judge.

    • Pondering thoughts says:

If you do that with your friends it remains in private.
Swifty does it in and for the public and that makes her a bully.

And why shouldn’t we judge Miley? Everything Miley does intentionally for the public in the public (shows, concerts, interviews, red carpet walks) is fair game.

  60. Wolf says:

I wouldn’t want anything to do with Grande either. She has proven that she has diva-ed herself way beyond her talents, up to an including spitting on doughnuts.

  61. Josefa says:

Oh come on. Miley did that whole show knowing people would criticise her later. Ariana and her brother arent innocent little doves. These girls were gossiping and having fun after and event like 98% groups of girlfriends do.

It does bother me that Taylor does all of this while still trying to keep her little princess image, though. Why not be upfront?

    • Karynne says:

      My thoughts exactly!
If only she’d cut that ‘good girl’ crap. she’d gain a lot more respect. Well at least from me 😉

  62. Cat lady says:

I’d rather hang with Katy Perry. I like her music so much more.

  63. LAK says:

It’s amazing how bland and boringly forgettable a group of girls looks. None stand out, and none are pretty even if they are models.

  64. Karynne says:

All true. If I was with my girl squad I wold gossip about everyone, EVERYONE. That is what a lot of girls do and I don’t blame her for that at all.
But the difference with Taylor is, is that she pretends to be this sweet, innocent, aproachable, lovely girl, holier-than-thou. But the passive aggressiveness and her mean girl antics are so blatant it’s annoying. If only she’d be honest and straight forward this wouldn’t be a gossip item to begin with because the VMA’s were horrible and so was Miley’s behaviour.

    Regina George I’m telling you.

    • Pondering thoughts says:

      @ Karynne: exactly!

Additionally, there is a difference if you gossip in private and keep it civil and polite in public or if you bully in a pretend-to-be-private but public channel.

Swifty really shows that she is an immature high school bully who probably suffers from envy in some ways.

  65. Pondering thoughts says:

Swifty and friends: the new pussy posse.

  66. Grant says:

Too bad Ariana has more talent in one pinky finger than Taylor has in her whole body…

  67. kimbers says:

Taylor’s squad is embarrassing after reading this middle school drama. While I love her business mind it’s clear her “girl power” isnt as genuine as she wants us to think. Either this story is planted or one of those bitches talked. Probably Selena.

  68. Drbzy says:

Love that her “squad” is a bunch of B- & C-listers.
